This is honestly the answer to all the overly analyzed questions people ask in this sub, expecting Helluva Boss to truly be the great masterpiece free of flaws, perfect logic and an 100% story-driven, smart, high IQ plot. But, truthfully, it is just a cartoon.
Cartoon hell magic where teleportation and whatnot is real.
Or I guess you can say it’s just styled to look old. I have seen a gun online that looks identical to a Nerf gun that the cops confiscated it. Also flintlocks are not that accurate, so it could make sense I guess.
yea like for older rifles, they use clips. you load the shots in with the clip to the internal mag, then toss away the clip.
clips are superior to mags in the sense that theyre cheaper and lighter. however they are nowhere near as reliable as a magazine
Yes however you wouldn't get your finger caught in a classic bolt action rifle due to it being bolt action meaning you have to move the bolt manually. However the M1 Garand uses clips differently as in they work more as magazines and you shove the whole thing into the gun. Doing this can release the catch slamming the bolt forwards leading to an injury known as "Garand thumb" (not to be confused with the youtuber of the same name). Here you are correct but you got some stuff mixed together. While they are both clips they function a bit differently. I find guns quite interesting even without having used them so I implore you to research them. Youtubers such as Brandon Herrera and Garand Thumb while they may have some political views you may or may not agree with are quite popular gun channels with lots of content. If you don't understand something I said feel free to ask for clarification. :)
To my understanding, basically some time had to pass before the Gunpowder inside would go off again.
*If this is sorta wrong, then let me know - it's been a while since I had to use my minimal knowledge about old guns.*
Burned by the embers of Armageddon, his soul blistered by the fires of Hell and tainted beyond ascension, he chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace; and with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. He wore the crown of the Night Sentinels and those that tasted the bite of his sword named him... the Doom Slayer.
Tempered by the fires of Hell, his iron will remained steadfast through the passage that preys upon the weak. For he alone was the Hell Walker, the Unchained Predator, who sought retribution in all quarters, dark and light, fire and ice, in the beginning and the end, and he hunted the slaves of Doom with barbarous cruelty; for he passed through the divide as none but demon had before.
And in his conquest against the blackened souls of the doomed, his prowess was shown. In his crusade, the seraphim bestowed upon him terrible power and speed, and with his might he crushed the obsidian pillars of the Blood Temples. He set forth without pity upon the beasts of the nine circles. Unbreakable, incorruptible, unyielding, the Doom Slayer sought to end the dominion of the dark realm.
he age of his reckoning was uncounted. The scribes carved his name deep in the tablets of Hell across eons, and each battle etched terror in the hearts of the demons. They knew he would come, as he always had, as he always will, to feast on the blood of the wicked. For he alone could draw strength from his fallen foes, and ever his power grew, swift and unrelenting.
None could stand before the horde but the Doom Slayer. Despair spread before him like a plague, striking fear into the shadow-dwellers, driving them to deeper and darker pits. But from the depths of the abyss rose The Great One, a champion mightier than all who had come before. The Titan, of immeasurable power and ferocity. He strode upon the plain and faced the Doom Slayer, and a mighty battle was fought on the desolate plains. The Titan fought with the fury of the countless that had fallen at the Doom Slayer's hand, but there fell the Titan, and in his defeat the shadow horde were routed.
And in his terrible rancor between worlds and through time, the Hell Walker found the wretch who shall not be named, but in his heresy was loyal to his evil cause. The wretch adorned the Doom Slayer in a mighty armor, wrought in the forges of Hell, impenetrable and unyielding. With sword and shield of adamantine strength, the Doom Slayer set to banishing all that were left unbroken by his savagery to the void. Yet as the mighty Titan fell and dread engulfed the armies of Doom, the demon priests of the Blood Temples laid a trap to capture this scourge of Hell. Insatiable, even by the vanquishing of the Great One, the Hell Walker sought prey in the tombs of the Blood Keep. And blinded by his fervor, the lure drew him in. The priests brought down the temple upon the Doom Slayer, and in his defeat entombed him in the cursed sarcophagus. The mark of the Doom Slayer was burned upon his crypt, a warning to all of Hell that the terror within must never be freed. There he lies still, and ever more, in silent suffering.
DMRs technically arent required to be semi auto. by definition, they fill the gap between service rifles and dedicated sniper rifles.
it is entirely plausible for his DMR to have full auto capabilities
Every semi-auto gun is actually a full auto. The only difference is a semi-auto has a single component that disengages the trigger after it cycles (fires and loads the next round) that can only be reset by releasing the trigger. On some weapons the interrupter can be toggled with a selector switch, while others (including most civilian semi-autos) have a permanent interrupter that can only be disabled with some very illegal modifications.
Just to clarify: this isn't a Storyboard. This is just a frame before being finished.
They do everything by hand, and this here is just what they do before tracing it into an actual image and adding color and details.
perhaps his gun is made to look like a flint lock but internally works like a revolver, or maybe it is demon magic and it fires charges instead of bullets. kinda like the gun they had in Outlaw Star.
Sometimes I wonder. Is this what humanity has succumb too? Arguing over a pistole in a cartoon. Just let the darn Imp shoot as many bullets as he wants.
Sigh, we keep saying this: IT IS HELL! Nobody cares if guns don't follow your laws of physics.
The gun just needs to look cool as you kill folks to "Mustang Dong!".
I assumed it was just a aesthetic. Like how mals gun in firefly is essentially a volcanic gun in appearance but actually a high capacity semi auto that chugs caseless ammo.
You rarely see him reload it traditionally between shots so it's could just be rule of cool. Like how in old action movies they had next to unlimited ammo and every gun fired full auto
Honestly, it’s kind of clear Viv and most of the team don’t really know guns very well considering the fact that most guns they use in the show are done incorrectly. I don’t really have a problem with it, though since it’s a cartoon and how their guns work isn’t really an important part of the show.
Short answer is cartoon logic.
But, if you want the long, no-prize answer; Blitzø has an affinity for pirates, but a single-shot weapon wouldn't be super useful as an assassin. Neither would an actual flintlock pistol, since those don't pack as much of a punch as modern fireams. So, instead, he has a modified handgun made to look like a flintlock but that operates more like a high-caliber handgun. It looks like it shoots slugs instead of the metal balls a flintlock would use, since Robo-Fizz catches a bullet-shaped object and not a spherical one in his teeth.
hasn't this been a thing since the pilot? the flintlock has always shot more than one bullet without reloading since the start if i remember correctly
plus, who cares? it's a cartoon, why should it be flawless with logic when we're talking about a story with demons and horny owls?
I can't remember the scene, so don't take this as granted, but I saw him throwing the flintlock and pulling another from his suit
He prob just has a lot of them and constantly replaces them just like with his phones
Flintlocks are just one handed muskets which rely on loading gunpowder in the barrel, packing it in, then loading the bullet in, so blitzo just put two bullets in
Yea, his gun does look like a flintlock but I imagine it to either be have modern internals or work like a break action revolver on the inside because it doesn't have the firing mechanism as an action as a flintlock or percussion cap pistol
In a very improbable way, it could be a two used flintlock( even if it doesn't looks like it)
there where 12 shots revolvers basically stacke 2 bullet on top of each other and having different primers for the 12 shots
Because cartoon.

You're giving me the feeling that HB fans are also Rick and Morty fans.
I mean it really does feel like that sometimes.
Do you even know the significance of the pickle
Or is it?

Good answer
Finally, someone with common sense.
I always figured he has a replica that takes a clip of some kind, he’s fired multiple shots from it before.
... Ahem..... Magazine I'll see myself out
Well technically if it was an internal magazine clips would be used
Here we go. Gun nerds ready to kill me over magazine vs clip. Lmaoo :)
Want some popcorn
Yes please.
Her you go 🍿
Thx bro. Here’s some butter too. 🧈🍿

Or an sks
I have seen photos of both garand thumb and sks penis. Both photos are disturbing, one more than the other.
Good Ole M1 Garands
yep
It’s internal so it would be clip
Or you could load it like a volcanic pistol/lever action
Nah it looks too much like a flintlock pistol
He shoots a whole cartridge from it in the Loo Loo Land episode
Magazine
some really old flintlock gun had the ability to shoot 2 bullets in a burst like a second apart or some shit iirc
So there should be two hammers to ignite the gun powder? Or maybe a double barrel flintlock?
it'd basically be double packed in the same barrel, but due to complex bullshit, one would fire, then the other would take a little bit.
To my understanding, basically some time had to pass before the Gunpowder inside would go off again. *If this is sorta wrong, then let me know - it's been a while since I had to use my minimal knowledge about old guns.*
Maybe it uses hellish tech to create a projectale that is shot out by some sort of hell energy
Ah yes, Argent energy
I see you are man of culture as well
They are rage, brutal, without mercy. But you, you will be worse. Rip and tear, until it is done.

See pistol from DOOM 2016

well TIL
It also had a bolt action
Bump stocks are helluva thing... I will take my leave now.
Semi auto cab be fired fast, it’s called pulling the trigger rapidly
That wasn't in semi auto though. He fired it in full auto, faster than a trigger finger. Also the sniper is also a bolt action which is impossible
custom built?
This is the equivalent of storyboards, it’s just a small step up from concept art and in no way represents the final product.
Just to clarify: this isn't a Storyboard. This is just a frame before being finished. They do everything by hand, and this here is just what they do before tracing it into an actual image and adding color and details.
Because it came from Hell. lol
Daemon magiks.
He took shooting lessons on the Grand Line
Also the hair?!
A wig stuck on with double sided tape
Hasn't he shot twice from his pistol in other episodes? Maybe it's designed like that.
majik
perhaps his gun is made to look like a flint lock but internally works like a revolver, or maybe it is demon magic and it fires charges instead of bullets. kinda like the gun they had in Outlaw Star.
C’mon, you know why.
Sometimes I wonder. Is this what humanity has succumb too? Arguing over a pistole in a cartoon. Just let the darn Imp shoot as many bullets as he wants.
He applies TABG logic and put an extended magazine to his flintlock
He must have a bunch of cheerleaders wandering around
Sigh, we keep saying this: IT IS HELL! Nobody cares if guns don't follow your laws of physics. The gun just needs to look cool as you kill folks to "Mustang Dong!".
It really annoys me sometimes how little vivzie knows about guns... Why can't everyone AT LEAST know the *basic* history of the AK-47?
because who cares
The fact that i have a 0 on my upvotes is a testament to the fact that no one can understand sarcasm.
It's a cosmetic skin, duh
Cartoon logic. Just like how his sniper rifle in the circus was suddenly an assault rifle.
Because this is a cartoon, and not real life
Because its Cartoon and its hell gun.
Could have double loaded it so one shot ignited the gunpowder for the other and then the gunpowder for the second shot is ignited by the hammer?
Maybe it just looks like a flintlock
Knowing blitzø he said fuck logic and did it because he wanted to
I personally think it’s just a pistol in a flintlock shell, that way it has both flash and function
Hell
Same way Hank shot 3 times from a double barrel shotgun in Madness Combat 1
Hell logic
Your wanting logic from this show
he’s just goated with the sauce and his flintlock is built different
Demon magic
Blitzo has the same deal as Dante from Devil May Cry.
That hairdo makes me uncomfortable
I assumed it was just a aesthetic. Like how mals gun in firefly is essentially a volcanic gun in appearance but actually a high capacity semi auto that chugs caseless ammo. You rarely see him reload it traditionally between shots so it's could just be rule of cool. Like how in old action movies they had next to unlimited ammo and every gun fired full auto
[Repeating flintlocks are real.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalthoff_repeater)
Two-shot Legendary Effect from Fallout
Bro thinks its fortnite
the answer is dont think about it.
Maybe it’s charmed or something
Because it just looks like a flintlock. He likes the design, but he rapid fires it on more than one occasion.
Imp magic
Custom made flintlock, X) kidding yeah cartoon.
It's not a real flintlock pistol. It's just styled to look like one.
Because hell that’s why
If it took more than one shot, he wasn’t using a Jakobs.
Honestly, it’s kind of clear Viv and most of the team don’t really know guns very well considering the fact that most guns they use in the show are done incorrectly. I don’t really have a problem with it, though since it’s a cartoon and how their guns work isn’t really an important part of the show.
There actually were flintlocks which had internal magazines which could hold multiple shots. For example, the Lorenzoni Repeater or Kalthoff Repeater.
The gun may be modified to where it can hold multiple shots in the chamber but still resembles a flintlock
Probably customized another gun to make it look like a flintlock cus he was into pirate shits
It shot a 9mm bullet out in ep 2 so it's anything but a flintlock
As an author and an artist, I have made worse mistake.
Animation :p
He got his gun from the one piece world
You're questioning the gun and not the fact there's a literal demon
hasn't this been a thing since the pilot? the flintlock has always shot more than one bullet without reloading since the start if i remember correctly plus, who cares? it's a cartoon, why should it be flawless with logic when we're talking about a story with demons and horny owls?
He's built different
He got the gun from John Bloodborne
Why does he look like he shot Alastor?
Flintlock with a mag
I think that’s a volcanic pistol, not a flintlock.
I can't remember the scene, so don't take this as granted, but I saw him throwing the flintlock and pulling another from his suit He prob just has a lot of them and constantly replaces them just like with his phones
✨**Magic**✨
Well you see, it works because it actually has a magazine that you can't see because it has the invisiwatch from tf2 strapped to it /s
Flintlocks are just one handed muskets which rely on loading gunpowder in the barrel, packing it in, then loading the bullet in, so blitzo just put two bullets in
Magic
Yea, his gun does look like a flintlock but I imagine it to either be have modern internals or work like a break action revolver on the inside because it doesn't have the firing mechanism as an action as a flintlock or percussion cap pistol
Maybe Hell weapons work on different rules. Moxxie might go on a tangent about the weapons one day.
Hold on. maybe just maybe because IT'S A FUCKING CARTOON.
In a very improbable way, it could be a two used flintlock( even if it doesn't looks like it) there where 12 shots revolvers basically stacke 2 bullet on top of each other and having different primers for the 12 shots
Because is a cartoon? Maybe 🤔
He’s just built different
Clearly he made a deal with Lucifer for unlimited clip. All he has to de is fuck him for each bullet.
Perhaps it's a gun with a magazine built in the grip (like a 9mm), but Blitz wanted it to look like a Flintlock because of his love of Pirates.
Demonic gun ??
