Finger detection is Cybertruck 3.5 subscription feature. The good news is that all 10 fingers are included in the subscription. Guaranteed to work "some of the time. "
Iām so glad that itās to heavy to be driving with the normal car drivers Iām Europe and needs the small truck license. That thing should never be driven around on public roads.
I can't fathom that idea that you actually expected that "vehicle" to actually have safety features for humans. It's an iPad wired to a low-polygon, vaguely car-shaped weapon, made by an overgrown billionaire teenage boy who gives -500 fucks about humans.
This is after the update to fix it too. The original video after he fights with it for several seconds it decides to let him go.
Before it came down faster and didn't have any form of detection, and when tested with veggies and human analogues, it absolutely dismembered them.
An engineer replied to this. He said that the trunk algorithm was made to apply more force every time the trunk wasnāt closed and resets after being closed. So if you put your fingers for the first time it will stop almost immediately, but the more times to try to unsuccessfully close the trunk, the more force it will apply to close it. You can see an update video the same guy made.

The top response from the tela employee is pretty interesting. Basically since he is repeatedly trying to close it the program tries a little harder to close each time. It assumes its a large bag or something because a human wouldn't logically try to put their body part in multiple times.
Honestly thats a pretty bad explanation . Why should the car override a safe closing force in that situation? Why assume it need to push down on groceries in the first place? I wouldnāt even want that to happen if there were groceries in the way, i donāt like my stuff being crushed either.
Itās just Tesla pr talking out their ass OR worse: bad coding of a safety feature.
I'm guessing it was just a rushed fix to get the saftey feature functional. Probably trying to balance between it not messing up fingers and a purse handle keeping it open. If they would have talked to their social media dp I'm sure someone would have said "Hey make it safe for people who repeatedly try to close it until it eventually hurts too".
Even if that is the case, which it very well might be with this massive piece of total shit, a feature like that should be an option the operator has to activate, not something the car decides by itself "gonna go hard this time".
There's no point in a safety feature that doesn't reliably and predictably work. It shouldn't have "ifs" and "buts" to when and why it might not function by its own accord as the user otherwise expects it to. Funnily enough, it isn't safe.
He literally did. This was after the new āsafetyā update to make this not happen. It still took a chunk of carrot off.
Not a banana tho so he was totally justified in trying this out
Upvoted because this needs to be higher.
The Cybertruck was **updated** because of this issue, he tested with several fruits/vegetables and then **still** it almost took off his finger.
No thereās a full video out, it did press into his finger pretty firmly though it could cause damage to the fingertip or a small childās hand still. His finger had a decent dent in it
I just saw a post on Twitter by a Tesla person. The frunk apparently increases closing force each time you try to close it unsuccessfully. Dude is lucky his finger is still attached
This totally sucks. But has anyone put their fingers in any of the 1000s of self closing trunks and hatch backs that are out there now? What would happen if I put my finger in a Volvo or Honda self closing hatch?
He literally made the video, I can't believe he followed it up with a finger.
From above: [https://twitter.com/jeremyjudkins\_/status/1786086164589347309](https://twitter.com/jeremyjudkins_/status/1786086164589347309)
He nearly degloved his finger by twisting like that.
Fuck, who ever let this grown man buy this thing?
He even tested it with a carrot before and it just cut the tip clean off.
If only there was some way to test this without using your finger. Someone should invent a wooden finger. We could call it a āstickā or something.
Sorry, just being an insane person over here donāt mind me.
Don't twist your finger like that, it's likely to come off. Better to just wait until the trunk is open.
God that's such a horrific thought that I've never considered before
Even the cheapest Kia cars with power tailgate can detect finger and stop closing. what the fuck. cybertruck is six times more expensive than this
Finger detection is Cybertruck 3.5 subscription feature. The good news is that all 10 fingers are included in the subscription. Guaranteed to work "some of the time. "
60% of the time, it works every time
It has bits of real panther.
And bits of real finger
*Disclaimer: thumbs are not considered fingers and are only covered under Cybertruck 4.0 subscription services, addition fees may apply.*
Costs an arm and a leg just to save a finger.
I am actually impressed that it can crush the finger š
Yeah the metal not bending under the pressure is a cool feature /s (Not a dig at you, just at the hype surrounding this monstrosity)
Iām so glad that itās to heavy to be driving with the normal car drivers Iām Europe and needs the small truck license. That thing should never be driven around on public roads.
I did not know that and thank fuck for this Ā“cause I'm also in Europe, cheers for the info!

I didn't expected from Tesla, but this is something that should be expected from a car in general. can never be tolerated.
This is after the update to fix it too. The original video after he fights with it for several seconds it decides to let him go. Before it came down faster and didn't have any form of detection, and when tested with veggies and human analogues, it absolutely dismembered them.
This tracks for the average cyber truck purchaser. Obviously he didnāt see the cucumber video.
Heck, he did his own carrot video and STILL stuck his finger in there lol
Just the tip
My favorite game
That takes a special kind of an idiot.
A man of science
He has. This is after the recent "safety update".
"It's safe now, it won't cut your finger off, just smash it like a rat trap"
XD
Looks like the car is still safe.

They are trolling him. They want him to try putting his finger in there again.
So cucumber is now safe? Thank god, now it just need a finger safe update
I love how some manufacturers use safety features, and the others just go "The purpose of the button is to shut the door."
It's even better because he did tests with a bunch of fruit, and his arm and hand. Man's a certified moron, if you couldn't tell by the cyber truck
Iām not proud of myself, but that brought just a little joy to my day.
He has trust in the coders. š
Had
Very hard nose exhale
***I couldn't really tell if I chuckled or the demon just choked me but I enjoyed it.***
Schadenfreude...

You can hear the tears in his voice at the end
Is this real? Hahaha
Yes, he tested it first with arms, then hands and last was the finger, he found out with the finger
But did he check the olā Johnson?
That was up next. He's likely working large to small.
you mean he.... fingered it out? ^(yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh)
This guy gon fall for the ole banana in the tail pipe trick
A potato works better.. nice tight seal...lol
Whereās the tailpipe on a cyber truck tho
Only an idiot would do this. You easily test that without risking your fingersā¦
He literally did. This was after the new āsafetyā update to make this not happen. It still took a chunk of carrot off. Not a banana tho so he was totally justified in trying this out

He kinda deserved that since bought a cyber truckš¤·
This belongs on r/TeslaMotors š¤£šš
Holy shit i had a look in there, it's like a cult
No it is a cult. They are still waiting on elon throatpies
This is the most Cybertruck owner thing ever.
Saw one the other day. Theyāre even fuglier in person
r/winstupidprizes
Wonder if he even installed that safety update... Why not having some person ready to open it just in case this happens
Just like 'park assist ',crunch!
Did he lose his finger?
No thereās a full video out, it did press into his finger pretty firmly though it could cause damage to the fingertip or a small childās hand still. His finger had a decent dent in it
Lol, the crunching sound is killing me. Is that really from the finger or just a coincidence?
He should have tested this feature with his erect penis first.
r/dontputyourdickinthat
I just saw a post on Twitter by a Tesla person. The frunk apparently increases closing force each time you try to close it unsuccessfully. Dude is lucky his finger is still attached
Cyber trucks are impressively engineered. As in it's impressive no one has died yet.
You can actually hear the crunch
*finger.dll not found*
I mean he's gotta point ..
He'll finger it out...
He forgot to renew the safety subscription
Buhahahhahaha What a fuckin moron .. some guys will stick there things anywhere
Hey, at least she had boobs!
This totally sucks. But has anyone put their fingers in any of the 1000s of self closing trunks and hatch backs that are out there now? What would happen if I put my finger in a Volvo or Honda self closing hatch?
It would stop or go back due to smart basic design
Task failed successfully.
Has he not seen the carrots??!
He literally made the video, I can't believe he followed it up with a finger. From above: [https://twitter.com/jeremyjudkins\_/status/1786086164589347309](https://twitter.com/jeremyjudkins_/status/1786086164589347309)
This video stopped too soonā¦. I really want to see the Final Cut
so generous of him to give up three fingers just to dick ride Elon.

*Further uh, donāt.
CRUNCH
Dude the sound of him trying get his finger out is rough
![img](avatar_exp|97071422|bravo)
My flaccid penix. What would even happen? And no, I would never, but if I did. How would I get it off it!?
I'd just get a knife, Dude. Cyber Trucks make for poor food processor.
Next time put you willy in there
Today, let's put our fingers in a pair of scissors, let's see what happens!
Will it blend?
Omg this dude ā¦ ahha I am sorry if I laughed lol
R/dontputyourdickinthat
Hilarious
Can it behead? In case someone is sentenced to a beheading I mean, this is a very modern way of executing said beheadeding.
No. The full video he places his whole arm in it and it doesnāt crush him. The Cybertruck only hungers for phalanges
Move to r/dontputyourdickinthat
A childs finger will be cut in half
What an idiot
*I thlammed my penith in the car door...*
Ooooof that little crunch in the like last second if the video
This Cybertruck needs a patch to fix some bugs.
Why not use a carrot. Or a hot dog
Thats Cybertrucks finger now
And horrible, too! <3
Reminds me of those guys who reviewed the Tesla Truck and used a carrot to test the feature. The carrot was sliced in half btw
If only there was some way to test this without using your finger. Someone should invent a wooden finger. We could call it a āstickā or something. Sorry, just being an insane person over here donāt mind me.
I just saw one in the wild. It looked absolutely garish
Good to see cyber truck has a sense of humor
Try that stupid shit in any trunk or frunk and it's not going to ever be a great result.
and the darwin award goes to...
Next time he should put his lil' weenie
Man silently Pulls and twists purposely trapped fingerā¦ iq, people iq is real.
He still loves Eion /s
