Pure nails are supposed to be legendary weapons, we only know of two in existence and the Nailsmith tries to kill himself when he makes one because he feels like he’s served his purpose in life. It doesn’t seem like something you casually forge for someone. It’s not I,possible, since the king had one forged for the Pure Vessel, but I think it’s unlikely. He’s probably just much stronger than us.
There's actually another when you find quick slash and dream nail the giant infront of it it says "pure" so he must've forged a pure nail but it's location is unknown maybe that giant forged the nail for the pure vessel or it maybe forged it for another god so we don't really know what happened to the nail it forged maybe it was taken but its dream nail dialogue says "pure" so that MUST mean that it forged a pure nail
It doesn’t necessarily follow that he successfully forged a pure nail, just that he tried to. Given the hundreds of discarded nails around him, it’s quite possible he kept forging until his death but never succeeded.

Quirrel's nail is built for stabbing, piercing enemies. The knight slashes and their nail isn't made for stabbing things. The fact Quirrel's nail is like this is tied to his destiny of helping a truly pure vessel replace the Hollow Knight, or for that vessel to permanently entomb the Radiance.
Unlike the Knight’s slashing, Quirrel’s nail and technique are perfect for piercing the exterior of Uumuu, which I’m fairly sure was intentional on Monomon’s part — whenever she needed the seals broken, she’d need to call Quirrel back with the mask, so it’s reasonable for him to also have the perfect means of bypassing her guardian.
He has a rapier while Little Ghost has a double edged sword.
A rapier is just more effective at thrusting and stabbing, thus it is better to burst Uumuu's bubble.

The pure nail is for slashing. Quirrel's blade is more of a rapier made for stabbing, like a fencing foil. Which is better able to puncture.
