Im pretty sure zote just has a precept that is something like: if your enemy is stronger than you just be stronger, hence why he just randomly starts to get damage buffs, if you beat him because you're stronger he just becomes stronger

To be fair, the Invincible, Fearless, Sensual, Mysterious, Enchanting, Vigorous, Diligent, Overwhelming, Gorgeous, Passionate, Terrifying, Beautiful, Powerful, Grey Prince Zote is entirely a figment of Bretta’s imagination, therefore he is as powerful as Bretta’s mind determines. Which I guess is only 10 masks of damage max instead of just an insta kill.

u can, most any% runs dont use city crest and insted use resting grounds

u can just use salubra shade skip

They use a shade skip to get to the ledge above Salubra, which gives access to resting grounds and right side of city
Or if you dont want to sequence break, you get the tram pass and enter from basin
