Flights aren’t bad it’s just the hotels depending if you wanna make a weekend out of it lol
150$ Jetstar ticket with just a backpack for luggage. You could stay in a hostel for like 30 bucks a night but I personally wouldn’t as the last time I did I ended up staying next to a club and couldn’t sleep lmao
yeah I'm seeing ~$100 flights checking on webjet.
I'd probably go for the weekend, and use the extra time to explore, since I've only been to Melbourne once
You just get Dreamhack tickets, the Hololive tickets is an extra that gets you closer to the stage.
Edit: and it also gives you a locked in seat (how close is still first come first serve). Without the upgrades you will be a lot further away and likely standing.
I mean, especially if you bring just a backpack or something aboard and don't check any luggage, it should be perfectly manageable. Probably want to get a real early departing flight, but.
I was going to ask if there was a nice, cheap rail service between Melb and Syd, but wow, the NSW TrainLink takes *forever* to get there (and doesn't even service Canberra on the way???) Even the American commuter trains are usually a bit better than *that,* especially up north-ways.
Yeah, I guess a commuter flight is your best bet, and find a weekend stayover to check out the rest of Dreamhack.
Somewhere, a rat: "I just friggin' left and you're sending me back?!"
On a more serious note, I'm sure she knew about this way in advance. It's just delicious irony that she moved to stop flying so much and here we are barely 2 months later.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxfcA5mwkys Just a month ago she was joking to Bae how Australia doesn't exist and they were 100% already in meetings planning this out by that time
Yeah, right? I saw her mentioned in the lineup and was like "Oh, weird, she wasn't in the graphic." I went back to check and lo and behold there she was laying on the floor haha.
[Now we know why she is lying on the floor.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cfn8nFUljOs) She just explained that her V hand sign is an offensive gesture in Australia. The other choice would be the default standing pose and of course Ollie doesn't like that.
Also that's why she looks 3D compared to others. It's actually from her 3D lol.
> She just explained that her V hand sign is an offensive gesture in Australia.
Frankly anyone who is into Japanese media in any form would not take offence. Last i checked the Japanese population do the V sign when photos are taken, and most of them have been doing it so long that it is automatic. And the interaction between being a Vtuber fan and being a fan of Japanese media is a flat circle.
YOOOOOOO! for context; Dreamhack is one of the biggest esports events in the world, hosting a lot of gaming competitions (FGC, FPS, and even mobile games). so for them getting a prime concert spot in Dreamhack is huuuuuuge
That used to be true and still is to an extent, particularly for the Swedish DreamHacks where their BYOC LAN competition is massive - here in Australia we're more of an even mix between esports and plenty of other gaming/pop culture activities.
This feels like a weird comment as an older lad who used to go to Dreamhack in Jönköping. CS was barely a blip on the radar back in 2007 (I think Source failed to raise any hype and just killed the game). The big events were DotA and World of Warcraft Arena in those days.
It also began as, well, a hacker's (legal(ish)) expo, and there'll probably be some nifty demoscene exhibits and whatnot, too, even today. There's a whole lot to see and do at a Dreamhack event!
That means this will be good. Not just a tacked on test run, but a part that was hard fought for from the start.
So happy to see Hololive spread into more and more niches this way.
Its nice to see that Holo is spreading out so far and being able to collab with Dreamhack is great.
If this event goes really well, then it sets a precedent that will allow them to appear at even more events, and it also shows event organisers yet another reason that it can be worth collabing with Vtubers in general, which is great for all of us.
Has anyone been to dreamhack before? Is it kinda like pax?
Edit- just asking as I don't really follow eSports and that's what I've always known it for. So so wondering what else is there for visitors.
Hey! I’m a DreamHack creator and past cosplay guest plenty to do at DH Aus! Panels, meet and greets, esports, artist alley, exhibitor booths (big gaming brands), lots of cosplay things, last year they had a maid cafe!
Pax is a good baseline comparison! However because we have DreamHack in a sporting precinct, everything feels a lot more open and flows more than other expos.
DreamHack is a lot more than just esports these days, for instance this year we have a big Artist Alley with ~100 artists, a podcast zone, panels stage, outdoor activities like Archery Warz, lots of content creators doing things like livestreaming, massive cosplay competitions, and there's a modest expo too. Also, lots of free-play games around the place. I'm missing a few things but there's plenty to do!
*Premium ticket holders will also have a chance to win a Meet n Greet opportunity with Mori Calliope and Hakos Baelz!*
Now that is pretty cool (getting a shot to do a quick meet 'n greet with Calli or Bae). Wish I was in Australia to go to this concert. Should be a fun time (considering the great lineup with Bae, Calli, Reine, Towa, Marine, and Ollie).
I think the most important takeaway of this announcement is...
[Calli will finally accept that Australia is real](https://twitter.com/hakosbaelz/status/1770641690929619375?t=g6TeRpJjVEjcsF-5oi1bEg&s=19)
Nature abhors a vacuum. If Haachama eats all the spiders, something worse might pop up as the new Apex predator
... Y' know, aside from Haachama herself
I know. I know. But after her surprise appeared in the 5th fes, I just had this hopeful feeling that she will be back in a top shape and in more concerts.
disclaimer: i am not the most knowledgable when it comes to seafood
shrimps for us are those tiny prawns and anything bigger than that we call prawns
but no one ever chucks those tiny shrimps on a barbeque anyway
back in the late 80s when that ad aired, sure you might find Fosters, but now? Fosters is pretty much gone, and don't even really see VB on tap in pubs anymore
now it's usually Coopers Green, Pacific Pale Ale, James Squire or some weird ale / IPA / craft
That's a tough ask man... unless they are big enough to do a nation wide Aussie tour. But they are far from that big. Sydney is probably the only other possibility in the future.
I know how it is, I'm not unrealistic or anything, it's just outside of a fast food worker's wage to take a return flight and pay for an event ticket so it's always a bummer for me personally. I'm not upset at any artists for not coming here or anything like that.
Managed to buy a Premium Upgrade ticket, but for some reason, Ticketek decides to block my card when I attempted to buy the Single Day Pass ticket despite previously using my credit card to purchase the Premium Upgrade ticket.
Great now, I've have to deal with Ticketek's tedious customer care.
DreamHack Aus is a lot more cosplay focused than other DreamHacks tend to be! We also have an artist alley that is very anime-y. Hololive does really well at Melbourne artist alleys.
We do know there's at least some overlap, what with a surprising number of top gamers/streamers being involved with vtubers.
Since anime is also quite prevalent in gaming circles, I would think there's some additional peeps there.
Finally, with how many "pro gamers" are always backseating in chat this will be fine lol.
Just wondering if we have aus hololive fan group in discord or fb (can be for specific talent as well)? and whether they're doing meet up or other activities?
I'm from the other side of the country and still on the fence as flight ticket and accomodation can be pricey, so would be nice to have fellow fans to share accomodation with.
DreamHack will have have tournies in CS2 and League of Legends, plus plenty more smaller games dotted around the place. It's not really a single-game event.
I wonder if they will actually be get to be in Australia for a bit, at least Melbourne is a great place for first visitors to the country.
Anyone among those 6 like coffee? I have seen Bae talked about how she took Australian coffee scene for granted when she stayed in Japan.
Why is the meet and greet an extra expensive ticket just to go into a raffle for a chance at winning access to it? Why is there only a month's notice for this event?
What the hell, Cover.
In theory you are also getting prime seats along with it. $40 premium for center seats is not the cheapest but also not out of line for the average concert tickets.
As for the dates, that indeed is less than ideal, but I have to imagine part of it has to do with negotiation with the convention organizers.
Holy shit, not just a win for Aussieniki but also folks in New Zealand (cause no way would any big agencies let alone Hololive come to our little abode 😭)! Flights are gonna hurt the wallet but when has Holo not put a dent in it lol
"Any 3-Day or Single-Day Saturday tickets gets you access to the show, via a limited general seating area." as per the dreamhack page, just under the girls' profiles.
Key word being limited, though. If the seating map they provided is to scale then there won't be many general seating seats available compared to the ones you pay extra for.
Yep that's correct.
The limited seating area is really for those people who are already going to be there at DreamHack on Saturday for other stuff, who maybe want to check out the concert for a bit and don't mind sitting very far back, or if the limited space runs out, don't mind missing out.
If you want a guaranteed spot, you should definitely pick up one of the two upgrades along with your normal festival pass.
So as you mentioned /u/devilkev, that would come to $45 (Single-Day Saturday pass) + $49 (Standard hololive upgrade).
Yep, that's right. $45 for a single-day Saturday DreamHack festival ticket and then to get a guaranteed seat at the concert, the upgrade prices start at an additional $49.
You only need the dreamhack event ticket to be able to see the concert. However, this comes with general seating (seems like there aren't many of these seats, so you might end up standing).
There's also a hololive ticket addon that gives you a dedicated seat, and an alternative premium ticket addon that not only gives you a front section seat/you also enter the raffle for a meet n greet with the talents.
I’m gonna be such a withered husk at the end of that weekend.
Watching the Pies at the ANZAC DAY match on Thursday, then three days of Dreamhack with screaming my lungs out to Play Dice! in the middle.
Does anyone know if you need to purchase a festival pass (3-day or 1-day) first to be able to buy the Hololive upgrade? or can i attempt to get the upgrade first before buying a festival pass?
I bought both at the same time..On ticketek's website you basically add them to cart before checkout. It doesn't look like theres anything stopping you from buying them independantly.
DreamHack posted to their twitter that you can get them separately, which I guess implies you can get the upgrade before the general admission ticket? It's not explicit confirmation though
EDIT: Staff on the Dreamhack Discord have confirmed you can get them separately.
This is a helluva line up. Aussie nikis we won
last time we won this hard, we were singing the Australian Anthem with Bae and Sana
ADVANCE AUSTRALIAN FAIRRRRRRRRRR
Holy fucking shit i remeber this shit it was so peak
That was my first con too, such a good memory
YES YES I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS ALL MY LIFE
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO needa check how much Sydney to Melb tickets are.....
Just cannonball it Friday night
I dunno if I'd survive a 10 hour ride on my tiny Super Cub..... plus the fuel tank is smol and I don't think there's enough servo's on the way....
Oh yea nah that'll suck. A quick search looks like it's 2-300 bucks atm. Maybe some Sydney bros can organise a carpool.
Just carry a trunk full of jerry cans. I'm sure all the gas fumes will be fine....
Flights aren’t bad it’s just the hotels depending if you wanna make a weekend out of it lol 150$ Jetstar ticket with just a backpack for luggage.
And I mean, it's also in the middle of Dreamhack, which always has a bunch of other neat comptuer-related stuff going on.
Still more content to be announced for the overall DreamHack event as well!
mate book the flights now before it blows up early April
I'm holding out depending on if I'm able to get a ticket tomorrow If I do, then I'm booking the flights straight after.
You just get Dreamhack tickets, the Hololive tickets is an extra that gets you closer to the stage. Edit: and it also gives you a locked in seat (how close is still first come first serve). Without the upgrades you will be a lot further away and likely standing.
I'm also looking at this. From what I can tell, it also needs a Dreamhack ticket. Think that will need to be purchased first?
I’m trying to see if I can get away flying in the morning of and then flying back in the evening
I mean, especially if you bring just a backpack or something aboard and don't check any luggage, it should be perfectly manageable. Probably want to get a real early departing flight, but.
Brisbane to Melbourne for me. Thankfully I have a stash of miles that I've been wanting to burn for a good while now.
I was going to ask if there was a nice, cheap rail service between Melb and Syd, but wow, the NSW TrainLink takes *forever* to get there (and doesn't even service Canberra on the way???) Even the American commuter trains are usually a bit better than *that,* especially up north-ways. Yeah, I guess a commuter flight is your best bet, and find a weekend stayover to check out the rest of Dreamhack.
it's $117 for the XPT service if you wanna take the train from Sydney to Melbourne FYI
G'DAY MATE JDON MY SOUL
I will be sorely disappointed if Bae doesn't even say it once while there.
I will be even more disappointed if the crowd doesn’t scream out “JDON MY SOUL”
God I wanna hear Senchou say that whole thing about brekkie and Maccas run. It's been a while since I've heard Maringlish lol
I will be sorely disappointed if the Australia branch of McDonald doesn't make a Jdon combo for the occasion.
I need me a Maccas Jdon.
Yeah, but will it be Bae's shout?
Come to Maccas to Jdon your soul!
Kaelas gonna make a guest appearance.
Indonesia is literally right next door lol
Somewhere, a rat: "I just friggin' left and you're sending me back?!" On a more serious note, I'm sure she knew about this way in advance. It's just delicious irony that she moved to stop flying so much and here we are barely 2 months later.
She's actually in Australia right now to move the last of her stuff. The flying back and forth ain't quite over yet.
She's currently in Australia. She flew out after 5th Fes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxfcA5mwkys Just a month ago she was joking to Bae how Australia doesn't exist and they were 100% already in meetings planning this out by that time
I didnt even notice Ollie lying on the floor.
Yeah, right? I saw her mentioned in the lineup and was like "Oh, weird, she wasn't in the graphic." I went back to check and lo and behold there she was laying on the floor haha.
Like the floor, Ollie is fla-
u/one_frisk *found turned into a zombie*
The best ending
Ollie loved being a bottom so much she had to lay down in the picture as well
"Hey wouldn't it be funny if you all took turns stepping on me?" - Ollie, probably

"Draw me like one of your French girls!"
graphic design is my passion
YOOOOOOO! for context; Dreamhack is one of the biggest esports events in the world, hosting a lot of gaming competitions (FGC, FPS, and even mobile games). so for them getting a prime concert spot in Dreamhack is huuuuuuge
Worth noting that there's lots of other non-esports stuff to do at DreamHack as well! Artist Alley/cosplay comps/panels/etc.
its basically an esports expo. but its main events are its competitions, which many attend just to compete
That used to be true and still is to an extent, particularly for the Swedish DreamHacks where their BYOC LAN competition is massive - here in Australia we're more of an even mix between esports and plenty of other gaming/pop culture activities.
Is that just the Melbourne one or has Dreamhack changed a lot? Because when I used to go it was primarily a LAN Party with some things around it.
No wonder it feels familiar, I know competitive Smash has a history in dreamhack as one of its top circuits. This is defo interesting
If you followed competitive cs, dreamhack is also a very familiar name.
More like dreamhack got big at all because of cs
This feels like a weird comment as an older lad who used to go to Dreamhack in Jönköping. CS was barely a blip on the radar back in 2007 (I think Source failed to raise any hype and just killed the game). The big events were DotA and World of Warcraft Arena in those days.
It also began as, well, a hacker's (legal(ish)) expo, and there'll probably be some nifty demoscene exhibits and whatnot, too, even today. There's a whole lot to see and do at a Dreamhack event!
Had no idea Dreamhack has gotten this big lol. Only knew they had their events here in Sweden which were massive.
Hopefully this year LOL world champ will have hololive as their main opening.
[Tweet from the organizer ](https://x.com/ChoboCrucius/status/1770634555386732572?s=20) he is hyped.
If you check his timeline, it’s filled with hololive stuff. He’s a massive fan.
Can confirmed, I am a massive fan!
Holy shit he's one of us.
Heeeeell yeah!
wait.. Peter Du?
You’ve been cooking and serving us a gourmet meal!
Congrats!
One of the few times those meme of "it could be any of us in this room" becomes true lol
Though I am nowhere close to Australia, thanks for organising it!
Peter Du is a huge holofan, he's been sharing and retweeting holostuff before and was a dream to bring hololive to australia
That means this will be good. Not just a tacked on test run, but a part that was hard fought for from the start. So happy to see Hololive spread into more and more niches this way.
I know that Hololive is a massive VTubing superpower that gets Ws every week. But on this scale?
yea we as fan is eating so LAVISHLY!!!.
HOLY FUCK I'M LITERALLY DYING FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK I'M IN MELBOURNE THERE'S REINE AND THERE'S MARINE I CAN'T HANDLE THIS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDD
F. May your sould JDON'ed.
Jdon your soul dude.
Don't die yet, you need to make it to the concert first!!
Congrat to Aussie bros. Would be perfect if they add Hachaama to the line-up.
[удалено]
Kiara - Now serving Australia's favorite c-word!
The only member that can boast being Gen 0 both at Aussie DreamHack and European DreamHack.
Everyone knows Australia is a landlocked country in Europe.
Why do you think we get invited to Eurovision. 😜
Imagine Haachama having another surprise appearance ala Holofest
AUSSIEBROS
Perth to Melb might be far but this is lifetime chance
So two JP, two EN, and two ID talents. Looks good. This size of a lineup should hopefully mean they get more than one solo and one group song each.
Mixed duets would be so much fun. I know she ain't here, but I still remember Ollie and Haachama's rock duet complete with screamo during 3Fes.

>Presented by TAC Didn't know the road safety guys are into video games and VTubers too. Neat.
You had mining company sponsored Hololive Festival before. If it's profit then it's a good reason to do it.
Human needs, baby. Idols and their fans need safe and secure roads to their cons.
Can't argue with that. Safety first.
Bae is there, which means I will be there (in spirit). This is gonna be an amazing concert!
Melbourne holofans let's gooooooo
*Premium ticket holders will also have a chance to win a Meet n Greet opportunity with Mori Calliope and Hakos Baelz!* Now that is pretty cool (getting a shot to do a quick meet 'n greet with Calli or Bae).
Damn, that's the Australian Open (tennis) finals arena. 15k capacity normally.
Bae is back to Aussieland. Also I can’t believe they didn’t invite the strongest Aussie in the world, Haachama
She would likely have wiped out their spider population! :D
For some Australians that might be a plus
Nature abhors a vacuum. If Haachama eats all the spiders, something worse might pop up as the new Apex predator ... Y' know, aside from Haachama herself
In reality, she probably needs to rest still and recuperate + this has likely been in the works for a while
I know. I know. But after her surprise appeared in the 5th fes, I just had this hopeful feeling that she will be back in a top shape and in more concerts.
Haachama taunting her former containment cell by coming back would certainly be something...
Congrats to the Aussie-nikis and nekis! ! ! This one helluva hyped line-up! Start marking your calendars and using your time-offs!
Dreamhack sweden next pls?
I would die. Yes please.
wow. it's already on next month.. so fast.
How come kiara isn't here, isnt she Australian /s
Oh, nice and there is also a streaming ticket. Any info on how long the concert is?
Given the price on SPWN, I would guess it will be somewhere a little over an hour.
Lmao. Ollie is on the floor.
Fuck Yeah! Australia gets something. Fuck No! It had to be while I'm out of the country.
G’DAY MATES WHO WANTS SOME VB LONGNECKS AND SOME SHRIMP ON THE BARBIE
\>shrimp \>not calling them prawns bloody wot m8
Isn't Shrimps and Prawns different? Haha
disclaimer: i am not the most knowledgable when it comes to seafood shrimps for us are those tiny prawns and anything bigger than that we call prawns but no one ever chucks those tiny shrimps on a barbeque anyway
That ad mislead the world to underestimate the size of our prawns and making them think we drink Fosters. I have never even seen one of those
back in the late 80s when that ad aired, sure you might find Fosters, but now? Fosters is pretty much gone, and don't even really see VB on tap in pubs anymore now it's usually Coopers Green, Pacific Pale Ale, James Squire or some weird ale / IPA / craft
shrimps are smaller, with curled backs and found in salt water, prawns are larger with straight backs and found in fresh water TIL
jdon my soul, feel happy for Australian fans
Hololive Worldwide baby 😎👍
Hell yeah gotta go to this!!
Holy shit this is awesome Can't wait to see the girls in action
I'm so happy for Melvin
Ollie is such a girlboss lol. Just look at how she posed herself.
Beggars can’t be choosers but I wish anything would come to Brisbane
That's a tough ask man... unless they are big enough to do a nation wide Aussie tour. But they are far from that big. Sydney is probably the only other possibility in the future.
I know how it is, I'm not unrealistic or anything, it's just outside of a fast food worker's wage to take a return flight and pay for an event ticket so it's always a bummer for me personally. I'm not upset at any artists for not coming here or anything like that.
Melbourne bros stay winning mate
my wallet is cooked bro
Fuck, the flights from NZ are eye-watering for that date
G'day mate! Haven't had brekkie yet so might go on a Maccas run soon. My shout!
Miss Worldwide Peafowl! MEP to the world!
interesting I'm curious if people in that sphere would be interested in watching vtubers
DreamHack Aus is a lot more cosplay focused than other DreamHacks tend to be! We also have an artist alley that is very anime-y. Hololive does really well at Melbourne artist alleys.

Does anyone know if I get a 1 day ticket can I get the hololive add on or do I need the 3 day.
Says you either get the 3 day pass or just the one for Saturday.
You can get the addon ticket with either a 1 day or a 3 day ticket!
Awesome
A little fun fact: Australia has six states, and Melbourne is the capital city of Victoria State.
Holy crap this lineup is nuts.
Looks like Bae is going home.
Used to watch DreamHack in the days I followed the Starcraft Esports scene. Funny how our roads have crossed yet again.
Praying for a London concert rn.
We'll be coordinating fan meets during the day, so keep an eye on DreamHack's socials :)
Bae: "BUT I JUST MOVED TO JAPAN!!!"
Who's gonna do a shoey?
Bae: *moves to Japan* Australia finally gets Holo concerts.
Wait, this means after all that work of moving to japan so she can reduce flights per year for bae, she still needs to fly back to australia lol.
Anyone know what game this event is for?
DreamHack will have have tournies in CS2 and League of Legends, plus plenty more smaller games dotted around the place. It's not really a single-game event.
Holy moly, that is fucking STACKED. Good on you Ausbros, y'all enjoy that.
I wonder if they will actually be get to be in Australia for a bit, at least Melbourne is a great place for first visitors to the country. Anyone among those 6 like coffee? I have seen Bae talked about how she took Australian coffee scene for granted when she stayed in Japan.
New opportunity for Bae to trap them and feed them vegemite

I picked the right country to move to in early April!
1 EN, 2 ID, and 3 JP.
Holy shit, not just a win for Aussieniki but also folks in New Zealand (cause no way would any big agencies let alone Hololive come to our little abode 😭)! Flights are gonna hurt the wallet but when has Holo not put a dent in it lol
I am interested in this but dreamhack ticket is $45, and to see the concert you have to add another $49?
"Any 3-Day or Single-Day Saturday tickets gets you access to the show, via a limited general seating area." as per the dreamhack page, just under the girls' profiles. Key word being limited, though. If the seating map they provided is to scale then there won't be many general seating seats available compared to the ones you pay extra for.

So as you mentioned /u/devilkev, that would come to $45 (Single-Day Saturday pass) + $49 (Standard hololive upgrade).
I am so jealous of you Aussies right now. That is a killer line up
A freakin' solid lineup.
Jdon my Soul !!
So there’s the concert ticket fee and then you also have to pay the actual fee for entry to the event as well?
Yep, that's right. $45 for a single-day Saturday DreamHack festival ticket and then to get a guaranteed seat at the concert, the upgrade prices start at an additional $49.
You only need the dreamhack event ticket to be able to see the concert. However, this comes with general seating (seems like there aren't many of these seats, so you might end up standing). Hope for Sana to watch the show
Bloody Melbourne
I wonder how the line-up is decided for events like this. Does the organizer pick who goes? Or does Cover?
Congrats AUS niki. *Cries in European*
Do we know who are the selections for the meet and greet? can we choose or is it random?
Fucking Melbourne lol lucky bastards
I’m gonna be such a withered husk at the end of that weekend. Watching the Pies at the ANZAC DAY match on Thursday, then three days of Dreamhack with screaming my lungs out to Play Dice! in the middle.

Man what a stacked line-up (and Ollie~~)
LMAO, rodlaver is a 40 minute drive away from my place. fucking sweet!
Man, I read DreamHack first and was excited, only to realize it's on the other side of the planet. I'd love to see them in Avicii Arena or something.
Dreamhack is awesome. Hololive is awesome. Man, what a combo!
When i can Buy the stream ticket?

Does anyone know if you need to purchase a festival pass (3-day or 1-day) first to be able to buy the Hololive upgrade? or can i attempt to get the upgrade first before buying a festival pass?
I bought both at the same time..On ticketek's website you basically add them to cart before checkout. It doesn't look like theres anything stopping you from buying them independantly.
DreamHack posted to their twitter that you can get them separately, which I guess implies you can get the upgrade before the general admission ticket? It's not explicit confirmation though EDIT: Staff on the Dreamhack Discord have confirmed you can get them separately.
I dont know if its been updated, but they opened more premium seat tickets if anyone is interested.
