Agree, it needs to be consistent. You have white window frames and it matches now. Painted doors always chip and wear, if you start painting it, you are creating a maintenance to do list to keep it looking nice.
If it was a solid door I’d say yes and add same colour of yellow chairs. But with glass doors I say leave them white and add colour with the chairs, accessories and flowers.
I read somewhere many years ago (probably in a magazine that belonged to my mum, 30 years ago or something) that you should paint your front door your favourite colour. It will make you happy every time you see it. And you should always be happy when you step foot in your house.
And yellow is one of my favourite colours and I think it always looks so smart on houses
Have you ever seen a yellow house that wasn’t cute?!

Here is my best effort via screenshot and IG lol
Great job - it brings home though the point others have made that painting just the door will look odd. The white trim around all of the other windows will stand out like a sore thumb.
Just keep in mind this doors “color” is going to be an outline, not solid, so imho it needs to be bold. A deep red would look great with the black walls and white trim.
I agree! This color might be more of an aqua color but I think it would go well with the grays.

If you are thinking yellow, give it a try. You can always paint it again. Go with your heart. It's your house. Add some matching flowers and chairs.
Benjamin Moore....imperial yellow
Sure. Make sure the shade of yellow compliments the light wood deck and the house. Here's an idea:

Our house is in very similar gray tones and we did our front door and porch ceiling Sherwin Williams Amsterdam. We get lots of comments and I think it looks great.
I think if you want to paint it yellow because it makes you happy then you should! But I think yellow would clash with the rest of the house, especially the light part up top and just make everything too busy.
Add a bunch of colorful pots going down the stairs and have colorful hanging plants. That would do a lot to liven it up without having to paint the door.
I think fuchsia pink would look gorgeous and would make the front door pop. There's not much door to paint. Try it and live with it for a while. If you hated it, it's easy to change. The pink door might lead to a chintz with pink and white and green, etc. for cushions for your porch chairs and lots of pink in your hanging baskets with training greenery. Don't underestimate the resorative possibilities of sitting on a porch...you could also have a daybed on the porch should you need a little lie down...

Not yellow unless you paint the porch stairs, posts, and railing a different color. Yellow isn’t right with the r porch colors. I agree teal/turquoise would look great.
Your house is painted in cool colors, a warm tone like bright yellow would clash. You might could get away with a muted yellow, but I’d probably play with some colors in an app or something first
Pretty home! I wouldn’t go with a yellow cause I don’t think that will play off the wood on the porch and steps quite right based on the color of that. You might consider as others suggested going with a teal or aqua. I’m about to do mine this color… (excuse the wording, it was on an Amazon review of the paint I was looking at lol). It would be a nice contrast to all the warm colors.

Can't really tell what your paint color(s) is or are. Could you give us a better shot(s)? And, what is the color around your windows? Hue makes a huge difference in a matching/contrast color. Just from what I am seeing, a bluish/green may be a good look. However, without a better/clearer hue, I could change my mind. LOL.
Hi OP I'm looking for a door set like that with the side light and transom window on top. Getting analysis paralysis. What material is yours? Where did you find it from please and thank you 🙏🏼
There’s a house in the town I live in with a similar color scheme and it has a medium orange door. I’m not normally an “orange” person, but every time I drive by it, I try to think of some other color that might look better. I’ve never come up with anything; the current color is striking and absolutely makes that house.
I’m basically obsessed with my daffodil yellow front door, so I say this with love: No.
Yellow needs a good contrast to pop (my house is teal/dark green) and these neutrals don’t have it. I’d do a bright teal/turquoise or even salmon.
Definitely do a vivid color.
I would also put something on the wall between the door and window. It’s very dark there and looks like a hole. Maybe a big flower arrangement or even a [barn quilt sign](https://www.primitivestarquiltshop.com/blogs/quilt-shop-gathering-place/exploring-the-colorful-history-of-barn-quilts-in-america)
The flower arrangement could be a pretty decorative planter with a trellis above it (I’d get one that looks like a gothic arch window and train some beautiful flower vines up it. You could get flowers the color you paint your front door and mix it with some other complimentary colors. Your house is beautiful, but the front porch needs something to help balance it visually because everything is so dark.
I would like color but not yellow. The house is more cool tans and grey.
I saw someone else asking about door colors standing back and holding up a paint chip so it covered the door area. Yours would be dark in the middle under the roof and with the glass so I think I would go a bit darker but intense color. Then add accents.
If you love yellow look at cooler and warmer yellows to compare. Mustards, tiny touch of orange, slightly green, you get the idea.
I think another color would be better than yellow considering the surrounding and all. Can’t really say which color though 🤔
Viridian Green.
Teal or lavender.
Teal would look amazing!
I second this! Or Aqua.
Yes.
Yeah I’ve tried thinking of something that goes with the porch or house but my mind is blank since the door basically matches the windows
The white is beautiful in my opinion but if you really want to paint it then I’d say Aqua like the other comments mentioned!
Whatever you choose, paint everything inside the black frame the same color.
My thought exactly!
Good advice
Rather than paint the door- hang an attractive door wreath. I like the hanging plants too. Maybe add a few more in bright colors.
u/brokenhartted wrote: "hang an attractive door wreath" Yes! I second this idea. A door wreath would look great on this door.
Would a yellow door make you happy? If the answer is yes, do it.
My door is yellow and it makes me happy.

I own a yellow car and I feel excited every time I drive it because it’s so cute and happy!
I think a dark red would be gorgeous.
I think you’re right
Thirded
Forthed
Fifthed! ❤️
Yes this. Not yellow OP.
NO
I second this
Red might be a better option.

I am one of the yellow door advocates but seeing this makes me think it wouldn't work in this case. Great job putting this together.
I was thinking more of a mustard color, but thank you. Not sure if mustard will redeem that.
I think something that compliments the stone of the house, not as bright yellow.
https://preview.redd.it/w19m2lx6ur5d1.png?width=320&format=png&auto=webp&s=e4743c85b2dc01c2eb04ad64166d6665dd29dfcd

Hmmm. So, No then.
God awful

If you want to!

No. Ffs no.
I think like a deep sea green would look amazing 🤩
no lol
No
Noooo
No, please don’t!
What direction does your front door face?
South facing
I think a yellow or orange would look nice.
Yellow doesn’t match.
House colors are cool and most yellows are warm, it would not be my first choice. On the other hand there are a spectrum of yellows 🤷♀️
Some navy blues to match the wood.🎨🤔
Lime green! I kid you not!
I think a warm peachy yellow could look very nice, not a big bird bright yellow!
No. Yellow is an atrocious color. It screams school bus or trying to make a not happy place, Happy.
No
Absolutely not.
Oh no
Red
Exactly what I said... a dark red. There's something that I find insanely attractive about a dark red front door.
Nope
No
No
No
Fuck no
Hard no
No
Not yellow.
Red or purple
I think a mustard or ochre colour would be lovely!
What are the colours of the other parts of the house? Is the bottom black brick and the top part grey? Or is it navy blue?
Nope , muted pumpkin .
Black
I love your house, and the door looks fine the way it is, but if you're dying to paint it, yellow wouldn't work. A very light gray would be nice.
I think fuchsia pink would look gorgeous and would make the front door pop. There's not much door to paint. Try it and live with it for a while. If you hated it, it's easy to change. NOOO
Personally, no

Not yellow unless you paint the porch stairs, posts, and railing a different color. Yellow isn’t right with the r porch colors. I agree teal/turquoise would look great.
No
No please don’t. Your house is cool toned and yellow would look horrible
No dark blue the classy blue
i thought i was in r/homedecoratingcirlejerk
No, don’t give into the trends.
Your house is painted in cool colors, a warm tone like bright yellow would clash. You might could get away with a muted yellow, but I’d probably play with some colors in an app or something first
Teal would do a good job of pulling the browns and blue together. Yellow would clash with the beige/gray on top.
IMO, no.
Paint it a shade of olive green. It would bring out the foliage around your house and compliment it.
No
Not yellow. Maybe in a dark wooden brown shade, or a warm grey?
No
Umm… no

Definitely a colour. Which one I’m not sure. Go to a paint store online. They will have software to try different colours
Noooooooo
No. 100x no.
A blueish lavender to match the beautiful sky!
I think a good mossy or forest green would suit the vibe of the environment.
Teal would put a zing.
Efffff no
No
I would prefer grey or green.
Weird way to tell the neighborhood that you’re colorblind
If it’s a very pale yellow, sure. If it’s super bright…no.
The best question is: would you be happy with that color? 💛
I love the idea of a glossy cherry red! It would be easy to add complementary planters with flowers in most seasons.
Dark red with a wreath, like thanksgiving
Some color to brighten it up. You have lots of options shared here.
Red
Blue family
I’d paint the porch railings.
Can't really tell what your paint color(s) is or are. Could you give us a better shot(s)? And, what is the color around your windows? Hue makes a huge difference in a matching/contrast color. Everything else is cool tone so it’s a no for me dawg. Navy might stand out
If your looking for a project.
With those house colors, I would use a crimson or brick red on both the door and the side light.
Hi OP I'm looking for a door set like that with the side light and transom window on top. Getting analysis paralysis. What material is yours? Where did you find it from please and thank you 🙏🏼
I think an aqua blue would look really nice. Also some pot plants.
Red
Red or Tiffany
Burnt Orange
Coral?
That’s a lovely house. So much potential.
This house is so cute oh my god
I would paint it matte black, then add a large bright, ceramic pot, maybe a hanging plant around the door.
I personally would do Royal blue or a nice teal
Try putting same color tape first to see if works as yellow might blend with stairs and porch’s wood color
The color of the upper stucco may look nice
My first thought is black with a wreath full of greens, pinks etc
Black
Yellow is my fav color, so naturally I must endorse
I kinda think red might look cool. And add some stained glass looking window clings for privacy

Red would be my personal go-to choice. That said, any bold colour would be fun and inviting!
What style of house would this be considered?
If you fucking want to. Do it!
Sunflower yellow https://preview.redd.it/xd7pboxzrn5d1.png?width=1767&format=png&auto=webp&s=dd6ea568ce21da99beb3e5edc4ab87d818324447
I want a home like this. What is this style? I like the two story and the patio.
A dark burgundy
Yes!! Love colourful doors!!!
Paint it… black.
A red door would look good as well…
Yes
Apple green or a clear tangerine.
Please don’t.
Sure, why not? Or what ever color hits you as being perfect

It's your home. If it makes you happy, then yes !
No it kinda matched the trip windows. Can always paint it the other trim color to match. If you want it to pop maybe a teal color.
Leave as is and add other supplemental items to accent like plants or furnishings.
Black
Orange!
I think yellow would look fine.
Will it make you smile every time you come home??? Yes? Then YES ... always always choose a colour that makes you smile when you're coming home 🏡
Hear me out: a dark reddy-purple.
Same yellow but several shades darker so it’s more of a soft but dark mustard. Something moody.
no
Robin egg blue!
Paint the front porch ceiling turquoise.
Nope
No but stain or paint the porch.
White 🤍 hands down.... Else Aqua / teel is good 💯
no
I would definitely not! I love how it looks. Do you have other color options?
A cool toned red.
No, bronze
No Yellow !! 🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️
A bright sunny golden yellow, yes!
No.
I think Dark red color would be better than yellow considering the surrounding and all
Currently, the door is in harmony with the window frame colors. Do what you love though
Green!
No.
I would try to match the color of that sky.
This is such a cute house
I feel like your house belongs on Gilmore Girls haha
Why on earth would you want to paint your front door yellow?
I would sughesg a burnt orange.
peach!
Yes
White will be fine since your windows are also the same color
Yellow? Nah, bold n bright red!
I think yellow will not suit the entire look of the house.
i thought i was in r/homedecoratingCJ
I would pick the color of the railings and steps.
