I recently visited three (3) dealerships as I am planning to buy soon. I checked out the CR-V and HR-V. BTW, I have owned a Civic for 17 years ... great car. The HR-V is nice but too small for us. The CR-V is OK but (to me) lacks the refinement I was expecting. The interior is dull. The 1.5L turbo is a significant turn-off. The naturally aspirated 2.0L in the HR-V is a positive but it was rated to be "sluggish" and "unrefined" by C&D (if that matters).
We also visited a Toyota and Mazda dealership. The RAV-4 is blah IMHO. The real winner here (for us) were the Mazda CX-5 and CX-50. These are non-turbo models with very nice interiors ... at basically the same price as the CR-V. If you are looking at min-SUVs like the HR-V, you might want to look at the CX-30. It is much nicer than the HR-V. This is a long-time Honda owner signing off ...
My friend also mentioned Mazda. I have zero experience with the brand. Just wondering about longevity and maintenance surprises compared to Honda or Toyota.
I have a 2024. I love it just the right size I don’t like the larger SUV’s because I have family that lives by the beach and those spots are tiny. But it’s more than enough to carry 4 people and their weekend bags.
Buy a civic hybrid when they are released in the next two months, it gets 50mpg and has more power than the hrv. The same if not better storage capacity as well. And the driving dynamics are also better due to the lower center of gravity
Great car, bought the 2020 model - 1.5L naturally aspirated. Been very happy since, no issues, low maintenance costs and great mileage. Only "downside" is the slower acceleration compared to other cars in the category, and also the infotainment system is a bit outdated - although now it's updated in the newer models.
Great cars. They are Hondas entry level vehicle and prices accordingly. Change the transmission fluid every 30k and you shouldn’t have any issues.
r/hrv I have a ‘24 and I love it so far

My two sisters both bought 2017s. I think they're a good vehicle for women want a crossover. They handled much better than the small SUVs she tested.

Hatchback tho for better storage

Is the hatchback on Honda's website?
I love my 2024 LX
