BFF scritches! 😂

LeadfootLesley

Grooming. These two are friends. When my horse does well in lessons, I scratch her withers, never pat, it’s a sign of affection.

zenkat

Fun fact: they like grooming each other in the neck area because their vagus nerve travels down their necks.  The skritches they're giving each other stimulates this nerve, which feels good and calms them. You can do the same for your equine buddies with a vigorous neck scratching.  They love it!

markoyolo

I love how when humans ride horses our hands are right where we can easily scratch and comfort them. It just strikes me as a beautiful aspect of our partnership.

WildlyDivine

They're loving each other up with some mutual grooming 🥰

torryvonspurks

Can we please add some black bars on their eyes for privacy. Jeez.

Necking. Showing affection similar to kissing and holding hands.

"Buddy scratching" is what we call it 🙂. They're just being horse friends.
