It may seem like nitpicking, but it's beneficial to have the information if the question is posed. My interest led me to research this topic. I have two dogs that were probably "laid off" or "fired" from their hunting jobs (it's a long story, but their history and DNA tests confirmed it). It's clear that their breeding was very deliberate, similar to the breeds mentioned here.
All of the breeds listed below are either tri-color, black and red, red with white, or solid red. They all have shorter ears and exhibit a mix of Foxhound and Coonhound traits. Some excel at treeing while others are better at "rigging" and trailing, aligning with both AFH and TWC characteristics. It's also noteworthy that certain breeds are gaining popularity due to various factors, including the YouTube series "The Untamed" and "Kirk Price," as well as the AKC's recent recognition of crossbred Coonhounds in competitions.

Note: Reddit is funny. Most of the time, people just upvote a simple guess that they agree with and devalue answers like this. I bother writing it because I could have benefited from the above when I started asking the question myself.
I can't see his tail or the profile of his head completely. That is where I can see the difference.
Foxhound tails aren't as slim and the hairs fan out a little, like you are flucking a paint brush more towards the end.
Walkers have big-ass heads with corners at back of head and atop brow (for lack of a better way to explain). Foxhound heads are more like Beagels rounded.
This is cool to see, thanks for sharing. I'm no expert by any means, but always felt a TWC has longer ears than an Am. Foxhound. I think I can see that in the comparison image.
Yup I describe the foxhound tail as a brush and a TWC tail as a whip. TWC is also more likely to have jowel on the lip (but that is not a definite).
Also, foxhounds that are neutered/intact at 4+ years will have a bony bump on the snout.
There's also a specific pattern of tricolor that only shows up in the TWC with significantly more black in the face than the classic beagle or AFH tricolor pattern. The foundation dog for the TWC Tennessee Lead was black and tan, so his coloring paired with the piebald gene is a different type of tricolor from the AFH tricolor.
Yeah I’ve heard twc, beagle mix, American fox hound, and I never know what to tell them like he’s just my boy I know he wants to track everything that’s about it
I thought I had treeing walkers for the longest time. I had several random hunters tell me they were definitely walkers. Got a DNA test and they are 100% American foxhound. It can be really hard to tell without a DNA test. But either foxhound or TWC most likely. He looks a lot like my foxhounds
I appreciate your pics. They’re helping me distinguish .I’ve been walking Winnie, who I believe is a foxhound mix for 8yrs.Her owners told me she was part Beagle when she was six months old. Her siblings were reportedly all black as puppies .Other than the coloring, there’s nothing beagle about her .she’s gorgeous long legged, she looks like a sphinx when she sits. I consider her one of my best friends. She barks for 10 minutes when I first pick her up because she’s so happy I couldn’t take another question of. Is she a beagle and then I overheard the dad say yeah probably. I got her an embarked DNA test. Can’t wait to show the results on this Sub. I’ve always told people she’s part foxhound because that makes much more sense to me, then beagle or Harrier. I may shit a brick possibly if it comes back beagle.

No too sure about foxhound...looks alot like a twc.

always love the "watcha dooing looks"
He looks more TWC than foxhound, although the breeds are very closely related!
Definitely looks like TWC to me. My TWC also concurs.
Beautiful!
