The time difference is entirely possible. Honestly, I kinda wished it had already started on the Black Whale, so that the 1+ year that has passed there already wouldn't have passed for others. Maybe there's another kind of a time anomaly on the Dark Continent, one that allowed Linnet and Netero to live up to the age they are/were.

I do think Togashi will finish Hunter x Hunter. He seems like he’s sort of recovered for now, or at least like he’s found a way to draw without hurting himself. That theory is similar to another I’ve heard where people think Killua and Leorio will be trapped on the DC for a few years and Gon and Killua will try and save them.

IF anything strange doesnt happen (or if togashi health doesnt get worse) i think we might see Dark Continent Arc soon after Succession war arc. And the last piece of the story will again be around Gon and Gyro . For me, these are the last 3 big arcs of the story, dont see something else get added and I hope nothing else get cut .

Headcanon: Pariston controls the board through his nen ability. (Either through rewriting reality or some kind of omniscient prediction ability) This whole expedition is for him a chance to gather the most powerful nen users and most influential people in the known verse and use them as "points of interest" needed to activate his power. I also think he plans to unleash hell either by releasing the 5000 coccons or by making the miniatures roses bloom since it was implied by Togashi that the seeds are dormant all over the world. Finally, he hopes that Ging will be able to stop him as he needs someone to push him to his extremes to even use his ability to its fullest (interest of crushing someone he loves vs someone he hates is the metric) Yes, this is all BS, and yes, I want Pariston to be the main antagonist 😈

- The way the narrative arc was set up, I think Hunter x Hunter will end with this expedition. °In fact, Gon and Killuaa finished their "quest" (finding Ging) and separated. Furthermore, the author has taken away his powers, which prevents him from being a hunter. °Also all the other characters who need closure are gathered on the ship. Leorio could discover the panacea he seeks or at least become a renowned doctor thanks to his new position. Kurapika must recover the last eyes of his tribe, which are right on the ship. Hisoka no longer has any reason to challenge Gon and has now set out to hunt down the Phantom Troupe, who will likely meet their end in this story arc. Ging is finally doing the exploration he wanted. - Even leaving aside these points, given the author's constant interruptions for health reasons, it would make sense for him to conclude this narrative arc (if he can) and put an end to it.

I think Gyro has so many parallels with Tserriednich that he will be in the ship and involved in the succession war somehow. Also if Gyros goal is to end humanity, what easier way than go to the dark continent and bring a calamity back to the new world? So again I think he is on the ship.
