When I first saw that, I interpreted it as him having a childlike reaction to scary anger from an adult. Turning away and getting all meek because he knew what was coming.
But maybe I'm just fucked up lol
As a 32 year old man I still have this reaction often at family gatherings... Put my head down and slowly meander away towards the kids table for more civilized conversations about dinosaurs and best mac and cheese noodle shapes.
Stakes should always be boiled over hard to get the goblin or ghoul or vampire blood off first. Sorry couldn't help joking about the wrong steak stake lol.
I also interpret as that. But think it’s highly probable that Charlie Day knew it would be hard to keep a straight face, maybe after failing in previous takes, and turned way; it be both. They turn away to hide their faces or laugh quite often, but mostly seems in character, Mac is the worse culprit by far.
I think at first he's turning around for the reason you say, then around the 18 second mark he tries turning back to camera, stops, turns back around, and then you can start to see his shoulders move as he's stifling a laugh.
No, because I think that's kind of what he was going for since he wasn't able to take Glen's hilarious anger head on, that's how the scene wound up looking
He actually mentions this scene in the podcast as an example of his method for not breaking. He may turn around, look away from the camera, put his hand in front of his face, anything to hide the break. Guy's a pro!
I just watched this episode today, and I love how he turns away like that. I was always paying attention to Dennis or the ladies, but seeing how strategic Charlie is to not break character is so amazing. The whole Dennis rant and the subsequent contract are so fantastic.
I also love that moment when Denardo does the classic 80s slow mo moment and Heart comes on. Always loved that song anyway. "I think I'm falling in love with her for none of the right reasons."
The little motion he makes with his arm as his head slightly shakes left to right in a bashful fashion while awkwardly trying to introduce himself is something that's been burned into my brain since watching the OG broadcast of that episode.
Watching Season 7 live was fucking unbelievable.
I love how Charlie just points at Dennis and then just doesn’t make any eye contact after that because he knows exactly what’s coming lol. Kills me. Maybe Charlie was just trying to not laugh. Either way execution is hilarious.
It's the fact Charlie has to look away for the almost the entire scene because you know he just couldn't stop laughing.

Did uncle Jack get you too?
Nooooo no... he never actually *got* me..
Yeah he did. He got you good. You wrote musical about it.
He made soup of his insides
actually, he shook him off in time so he never made it IN him.
But he did bite his dick off
He was super small so it’s fine.
He bit his dick.
Move past it! Move past it!
He was snapping at it.
You don't remember ! *Wink*
Ah, his hands were too small to grasp you.
Boys will be boys
Boys will not be boys. Men will be men

You can tell he is laughing with the way his shoulders are moving.
that's exactly how i interpreted it the first 5 times, but i think they just got lucky. iont think that was in the script, he's just smiling
As a 32 year old man I still have this reaction often at family gatherings... Put my head down and slowly meander away towards the kids table for more civilized conversations about dinosaurs and best mac and cheese noodle shapes.
I’ll have the milk stake boiled over hard and a side of your finest jellybeans RAW!!!
Stakes should always be boiled over hard to get the goblin or ghoul or vampire blood off first. Sorry couldn't help joking about the wrong steak stake lol.
Your illiteracy has cost me a upvote im a up votable man
Careful, you are close to besmirching me and I will have to demand satisfaction!
Phobuster
Did you just say you're a fullonrapist?!

Rob is literally smiling all the time 😭
I think at first he's turning around for the reason you say, then around the 18 second mark he tries turning back to camera, stops, turns back around, and then you can start to see his shoulders move as he's stifling a laugh.
No that's what I thought too
That’s what’s so perfect about the way Charlie Day plays the character
nah glue just had him tweaking
No, because I think that's kind of what he was going for since he wasn't able to take Glen's hilarious anger head on, that's how the scene wound up looking
That’s exactly what I thought too.
I always loved that scene for that reason. I wonder how many takes they had to gl through until they probably decided, ok this is the best we got!
There's a quick cut after Dennis finishes his line, I have to believe that's when Charlie burst out laughing during the take
No, those are two different takes cut together.
I love when scenes make it into the show where another actor is clearly breaking, and doing whatever they can to keep the scene usable
He actually mentions this scene in the podcast as an example of his method for not breaking. He may turn around, look away from the camera, put his hand in front of his face, anything to hide the break. Guy's a pro!
You can see the way he points to dennis he’s gonna lose it, I love watching his body shake laughing
You can SEE him shaking with laughter. Look at him closely.
He's dying there lol

Then he goes and get changes into preppy gear.
The little "ooooo" Charlie does followed by the point because he knows what is coming next is the best part.
And how he points to him like “this guy”
I always felt like the point was like, "Yep, here it comes"
Nice. I always thought it was like, “look what you’ve done now ladies”.
The point ALWAYS gets me hahahaha
And later in this episode Dennis's reaction to Jackie Denardo was one of childlike wonder and insane desire. What a complex guy.
Yeah, but it's Jackie Denardo!
Of the channel five news weather team *Till now, I always got by on my own*
Her breasts where staggering.
Can you imagine her weather report in 3d?
I’m Dennis!….Reynolds.
For the good of the race…
That whole scene in which he approaches Jackie , funny as it is, is truly brilliant acting.
The little motion he makes with his arm as his head slightly shakes left to right in a bashful fashion while awkwardly trying to introduce himself is something that's been burned into my brain since watching the OG broadcast of that episode. Watching Season 7 live was fucking unbelievable.
He was having **feelings** again! Remember feelings?
Uh.. yeah I have feelings every single day of my life.
The fact that this is now considered an early season feels like a personal attack.

This, I'd consider this episode late Sunny if anything. Anything post S6.
OhhhOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH
They lied to me
The tone of his voice for this line is so psychotic. Dennis went mask off.
Charlie Day said he was turning around because he was breaking. He said he does that a lot.
You can see a little laugh bounce in him too while looking away. He barely held it together on this one.
Thanks for noting that. 0:20 mark for anyone else seeing this.
My favorite break is when you see Dennis during the "did someone get addicted to crack"
They probably had a few takes of this before Charlie realized he should just turn around.
From what he said in the podcast, it's somethign he often does.
FETISH SHIT!
DUCT TAPE, ZIP TIES, AND GLOVES, I HAVE TO HAVE MY TOOOOLLLSSSSSS!
I like to bind! I like to *be* bound!
There’s a super cut out there of every time Rob starts smiling at one of the others during a take and it’s great. I’ll try and find it.
Glenn is an amazing actor
The "get outta here" is Glenn's Jack Nicholson, right?
Guys, we have Steven Spielberg in the studio with us today!
Shoo away from me!
Early season? This isn't an early season. IT'S A GOLDEN SEASON!! A SEASON OF GODS!!! BEGONE WITH YOU.
BEGONE
Shoo away from me
How did you not know...?
They always make you laugh, huh?? What about the implications? 😳 You're not going to hurt anybody are you?
The blonde girl is so pretty.
My best friend always says I’m the only one that can tell him to “cool it” or “take it easy, it’ll be alright” This scene hit close to home haha
this is when the freakouts were actually hilarious because they weren’t the whole character And yes it goes without saying but Glenn always kills it.
Charlie just turning around to laugh.
I also love Charlie's get up from strolling the store in crisis mode. I look similar when I'm shopping at Home Depot
Dennis is the best character, he's outburst always make me fully laugh
I love how Charlie just points at Dennis and then just doesn’t make any eye contact after that because he knows exactly what’s coming lol. Kills me. Maybe Charlie was just trying to not laugh. Either way execution is hilarious.
I feel like nobody makes Charlie break quite like Glenn does. We really don’t get enough of just the two of them together.
Charlie’s, “What was that? That was too dark” kills me every time!!
Love this show
“they lied to me!”
Storm comin'? Hatchet comin!
I’m not a dick ooOoOeerwgh has me in stitches
Don’t forget the “implications” 😂
I love how Charlie knows their response is going to trigger Dennis.
the first episode dee tells the guys she loves them twice. oh how times change
