Eh, the white stripe on my head says “collie,” but the eyes definitely don’t. They’re common in mixed-colored breeds. Collies, Australian shepherds (even ones that aren’t merle), blue heelers, even Dalmatians (though they’re more prone to straight-up Hererochromia.)

That’s not a red heeler.. I have a heeler, I’m Aussie and grew up on a cattle station with heelers and kelpies. Sorry but you Americans aren’t that good with Aussie dogs.

I can see it in the first photo. Not full bred by any means, not even close, but having other breeds in the mix would skew how you think the head should look. And in the US, a LOT of mixed breeds have acd in the mix, so it’s very likely.

Are acd's known for the almost hand-like paws? I'm asking because my dog has some ACD DNA in her ad she has the same kind of paws. She likes to use them pretty much like hands and it looks like this little guy might also be a digger but I could be wrong and the OP just took the photo of their dog lying near a hole someone else dug.

I just looked it up and it seems that ACDs actually are considered prolific diggers and could dig up your entire yard if precautions aren’t taken to prevent this from happening. So I guess I learned something new today.

Not even all full bred have the mark. It's on most but not all ACDs. It's not even specified as a breed standard, though it's often an easy giveaway when determining breed. Also, corgi heelers are intentionally bred together as they're both herding dogs. But you do you.

Yah but Heelers are the true “red” color, like a Rhodesian Ridgeback. I think the color is more of a very light cream/brown, or even yellow like a GR. Although, I definitely agree with Husky, mainly bc of the eye color and ears, also face/body shape resemble Husky as well. Australian Shepherd, I just don’t see that breed at all in this pup. Hopefully OP does an Embark DNA Test so we can all find out! OP, please update post with DNA Testing Results, if you happen to test your beautiful dog!
