I posted a video in this sub of me doing the exact same a while back. I got downvoted and shit talked saying I’m the idiot for not waiting for the intersection to be clear, regardless of the person running the red light lol. It was disappointing. Glad to see you getting support on your post!

If they hit you: Their fault 95%. Yours 5%.
If you hit them: Their fault 67%. Yours 33%.
Where I'm from this happens all the time. Usually several cars continue left turning after the green arrow is gone. But the drivers going straight almost always just let them through (myself included) . Doesn't feel worth fighting over.
it doesnt seem like you were doing this but other people are supporting purposely flooring it to make sure other people cant safely pass through an intersection and its extremely childish and dangerous for absolutely no reason.
that being said, yes you would get in trouble for driving into another car, it doesnt really matter if you have the right of way, you saw the car entering the intersection and had plenty of time to slow down/stop if you werent sure what they were doing. its always advisable that you assume other people are going to do the wrong thing when youre not sure, thats how you avoid accidents.
would you get fucked by insurance? would you get a ticket? idk. thats totally up in the air. i guess trouble is kind of a vague concept lol but legally speaking you should be in full control of your vehicle at all times and just because you have the right of way does not grant you permission to run into other cars. had they stopped in the intersection and you hit them your dash cam probably would not have been entirely beneficial for your case. again, you would probably have been fine and maybe worst case got a no fault, but just explaining the expectations of the law. you are responsible for what your car does too.

What if the cammer drove right up to the point of not hitting the car and stopped? Footage doesn't mean the human eye sees and registers the same thing in the same timeframe.

if you actually read my comment and could employ basic logic i said the opposite. having the right of way doesnt grant you the right to cause an accident, why would not having the right of way grant you the right to fly through an intersection unsafely and cause an accident? makes absolutely no sense.
my point was specifically about people who floor it as soon as they have a green light, not one person in this comment section would defend doing that, but when someone explains why other drivers have rights too all the sudden theyre mad lol
we all have to share the road equally, youre not entitled to it anymore than anyone else. idk why that upsets you but its just the reality, sorry.

You obviously failed to notice the other idiots let him complete the turn through the intersection and continue on their entitled way.
