Reasons for why not using a discord: It ties resources. Either the guy making this game, or someone he trusts with his player base and who is able to keep the place normal (mostly with no payment involved). The internet allows information to be availlable for everyone. That's the benefit of platforms like reddit, wikis etc. While discord is a nice thing for the community to grow, it also "gatekeeps" all the gathered informations. You basically have to join to look for additional info. And a lot of people may not be aware of it in the first place.

well, that's fair but in this days almost everyone has discord and i discover the reddit page throw the game, so the discord server could also be a link in the game like the reddit one. While managing a Discord server does require resources, it also significantly enhances player engagement and satisfaction. Delegating moderation tasks to trusted community members (often volunteers) can mitigate the resource strain. While it’s true that Discord requires joining the server to access information, this exclusivity can also create a more controlled and high-quality information environment. There are cons and pros, but in my opinion the pros are much bigger then the cons.

I dm'd the dev for the game about this topic a week ago and they have stated they are considering it. As far as I know, this is a solo dev game. So they might not have a lot of available time with working and doing this game, to make and monitor a discord channel.

That's nice to know, at least we know that he is considering it.

Fuck discord with an umbrella. You can search reddit pretty comfortably. Try to find some older info on discord....

I also found this game and came looking for a discord server. There are too many questions that I have that I would love to throw in a quick chat rather than having to make posts on reddit and hope for the best
