Sad is an understatement. I feel broken going from the "pick me! You won't regret it"-smile of Chikorita to the "abandoned...again"-look. My chest feels heavy. 😭 I LOVE YOU CHIKORITA ~! ILL PICK YOU!!!!!
I never care about stats, I just go for whichever I like the most aesthetically. Haha. Which usually means grass Pokémon. I always picked Chikorita and didn’t realize it was often the odd one out until adulthood.
Me too, I adore most of the grass starters. Scarlet is the first one in ages where I actually opted for the water starter. Couldn’t say no to lil Donald Duck.
Meganium is really fun to use in Johto. It offers a good challenge, especially as Chikorita is weak to most of the gyms, including the first two. It's always been my favourite of the three, which is saying something as Johto is my favourite region and have my favourite starters.
Chikorita and her evolutions were always my favourite as a kid. Nowadays I still wouldn't pick a different starter, even though she is not the most optimal one. She is the cutest green bean. 🌱

Good! I love using Feraligatr in Johto but that means leaving good ol' Cyndaquil there and Silver with Meganium just looks wrong!
If I could have it my way Johto games would only let you choose between Cyndaquil and Totodile and Silver would get the other one! Sorry not Sorry! Chikorota most be one of my absolutely most disliked Pokémon.

I almost always choose Cyndaquil, but Chikorita is one of the few grass types I actually like. That and Turtwig.
