She's really good and, unless I'm mistaken (an incredibly likely possibility where college athletics are concerned) set the all time scoring record for NCAA (Women's?) basketball.
In 4 years over 139 games CC scored 3,951 pts (28.4 avg).
Pete Maravich ('68-70) played 3 years (freshman couldn't be on varsity then), 83 games and scored 3,667 pts (44.2 avg) all without the 3-pointer.
His coaches tracked his shots, if they had the 3-point line when he played they estimated he would have averaged 57 pts per game.
A convenient fact left out: the head coach was Pete’s dad at LSU.
Pete was an unreal scorer but the entire team was built to get Pete the ball & have him shoot as often as possible.
So what about the coach? Pete hit the shots, not his dad. CC was clearly the focus of Iowa's offense too.
Pete's career average was 57% higher than her's, that scoring record (most points) needs context. Rick Mount, Larry Bird and Oscar Robertson had higher averages too as did over 20 other players. None of them played 4 years and so many games as Clark.
Right, and if she played 3 years (so not counting her freshman points) she wouldn't have broken the record and would have been 515 points behind.

And had they stuck around for 4 years, she wouldn't have beaten their records, but they chose not to. Because she stuck it out all 4 years, she's at the top of the list.

That coupled with the fact that our Fever had the 1st Draft Pick, there’s a lot of hype around a rookie. Similar to our Pacers young team and the Colts… Purdue and the Sycamores playing well. People are excited!
TV commentators - pretty much seasoned observers of the game - gasping in astonishment at her passes. "How did she do that? 1 inch left or right and that ball doesn't get through?"
Also, at her 3-pointers: "Spectacular! I jumped out of my seat and my headset nearly fell off!"
She has tremendous talent, a dedicated work ethic, and a wonderful personality. She is very skilled however she will be challenged in the WNBA. She will need some grace until she finds her footing and role at this level. In the end, she will have a solid career

Her form is incredible. She's looks natural shooting and can stroke 3 pointers. She broke numerous college records as well.

Freshman were not allowed to play on the varsity back in the 60's and 70's - three years was the limit.
