The earlier lines are directly from the book too: "Tell me what a monster I am, what a vulgar fiend" - it's during the part with the prostitutes in the parlour where Lestat kills and drinks them both in front of Louis. Same part as the "You are a KILLER Louis!" passages.

I am pretty sure that in the Season 2 episode 6 SF scenes in the apartment, once the Interview part starts, that some of the 1st words that Louis says to Daniel about becoming a vampire came directly from the book....the parts about not wanting to give a simple answer. Also, Daniel's comment saying he is anxious to know why Louis belived he is a vampire came right from the book.

rollinRolo

Yes! Many of the lines from the tapes are direct.

SoooperSnoop

I love it! I get a little "tingle" every time I hear one or more of those lines.

TrollHumper

I'm glad at least part of it had made it into the show. Haunting.

Felixir-the-Cat

I love that Santiago finds it all boring, given how much he loathes show Louis.

sadlyonlyaneel

He did tell Sam afterwards that he loves the writing!

Thank you for posting that. I knew that at least some of it came from the book, but it's been so many years since I read it, I wasn't sure. Thank you for confirming. I don't totally understand all of the symbolism in that speech, but it's achingly beautiful nevertheless.

Mr. Jones and Senor Byrne have both said they like incorporating Easter eggs for the literary fans. How it is all so perfectly executed is their testament.

WOW! Thank you for this. I KNEW that sounded familiar....I read the book several times, but it was oh so many years ago.. Thank you!!!!
