I have no experience with this but I have heard people say they made out better by getting the tax benefit of donating than the cash they would have got from scrapping (obviously depends on your tax situation as well). Also, how nonworking is it? Used car prices even for junkers are high right now, someone may be willing to buy it as a project car. I realize I'm not answering your question but good luck!

Thanks for that info. I was going to donate the car but the tow truck driver used by the charity (out of Cedar Rapids) kept bailing on me. :(

Last year I went thru a site called CarBrain and they gave me a pretty good offer to buy my car. They came and picked up the car too, I believe they were the middleman and my car was just shipped to a car salvage outside of davenport to be sold for parts.

I believe where they sent my car was to Copart, maybe give them a call directly to see what they qoute.
