The fight with Malice hurt my heart (for Mercy and Charity) but this is what eventually got me! Whenever Eithan/Oz breaks down I immediately follow đ
This really reminded me of that scene from Endgame where Paul Rudd just breaks down in so many ways while saying so little.
I could just feel that hesitation, pride, worry, and relief in Eithan. Super well done.
I cried several times. The reunions at Grave, Mercy nuking Malice, Northstriderâs shame and ascension, but especially getting to see Lindon as husband and father.
It's too bad about Malice cause I feel like there was a good enough chance that the same tactic that got NS to ascend would have been worth trying considering what Thousand Eyes said about her when she was younger. I feel like she would have been ashamed and disgusted with who she'd become, although now that I think about it that probably only worked on NS because he could consume the memories from the Echo to how himself from It's perspective.
All I have to say is that was the most satisfying ending to a most excellent story. I started getting choked up during the end of the final dread god fight because I just knew that Lindon was going to lose his mind and have to be left behind. When little blue got impaled I started yelling at will lol how dare you kill her , she had better come back. I also yelled at him when I thought Oz was gone for good too. Lol my kids thought I lost my mind. "You ok mom? " "shhh!!! Book !!! Go away!"
Ending it made me sad, but the epilogue actually made me a little hopeful. It seems like he may be setting up a future series with Lirin. I hope anyways, because I really want to know if my theory about Lindon, and now Lirin, turns out to be correct.
It was originally that Lindon would recreate the Creator Mantle and gain the Reaper Mantle as well. But now I'm thinking Yerin will end up being the Reaper, Lindon the Creator, and Lirin will be equally good at both.
I mean aside from the fact that I don't think you can hold two mantles at the same time I like the Idea. I also feel like aside from him becoming Adriel and ushering the Abidan into an age of prosperity that rivals the coming of Ozriel I think his skill and power as a reaper will be second only to THE Reaper.
You're right. I was answering your question. I didn't cry. There's also some Northstrider to Harmony humor there, but you've kind of ruined it already.
Mercy learning about all the joy she brings brought out the water works. Such a lovely scene.
Iâm so glad that she gets the Joy icon. Nice foreshadowing by Eithan there. I wonder if he sensed her touching it, even so early on.
I just wish we got a scene of Eithan acknowledging she got that icon since he had wanted it.
He did mention something about her icon upon their reunion, but it was brief
I can't remember him mentioning anything about it where was that ? He mentioned Yerin icon but didn't say much to mercy
I read it again. I was incorrect.
Same here
I had tears at eithan and lindon reunion.

Suriel and Lindon reunion for me
I did cry at the end. And the beginning. And like 20 other times.

I got a few tears after the NS fight and the Weeping Dragon fight
There were lots of onion ninjas patroling my vicinity
Mercy's herald advancement had me tearing up a little. All it wanted to do was help
That has to be the nicest remnant ever.
I canât believe no one is mentioning the reunion of Yerin and her master! That one was the first to get me.
Yeah that one was intense, "never thought I'd see you make it, though I suppose I didn't did I?"
Feel like there was a missed opportunity for the last words of the epilogue to just be "I am" so it could flow into the "The End"
That wouldâve been genius.
The moment Lirin was introducedâŚwaterworks
Easily the most emotional cradle book we have gotten

Yes.

What's your theory?

I can see that happening, hopefully we get to see them and Lirin in the future

I teared up about 8 times throughout.
I was excited to see his fight then it said âthe endâon the next page
I never cried, but I did giggle with glee like a madman many, many times.
Oh so did I, but the last line in the book brought tears.
I did not. But I did feel a sudden emptiness profound enough to manifest the void icon myself.
A new Void sage huh? Well cheers and celebrations for you.
Multiple times were tears had
Cried at the acknowledgment at the start and the Lindon- Eithan reunion. And then a million times after finishing the book.
No
Ha, this was a trick question because anyone who said no is obviously a psychopath.
Wow. Thx.
That was a joke but I do have to ask, why not?
It's a book and it wasn't that sad. It was an appropriate ending.
People can cry for reasons other than sadness and I mostly cried once I reached The End.
You're right. I was answering your question. I didn't cry. There's also some Northstrider to Harmony humor there, but you've kind of ruined it already.
Oh sorry I didn't see that.
No, you're right. Books have only made me cry twice, and one was only because I just finished the last Discworld book for me. (Eric)
Its not a good book if you dont cry at the end.
Sobbed at the beginning. To all of you, for walking this Path. Man.
