Recently noticed that, **I skip steps**, **methods** and some minute details that make fall in exam+ daily **ACTIVE revision of notes**
* if u solve module somewhat seriously then marks do increase but there are some "**super gifted**" that they do it all in like a "pakage" that they can follow this all along and it make us feel like pushing away from "throne we deserve". I also keep crying abt it after result, ig I do lack confidence solid memory and consistent dedication, I can score easily in adv but mains aukat dikha deti hai. So hv finally started having concentration on memory, learning, repetitive practice and fast paced revision.
* **Edit**: If sm1 gets good **method with alternate short trick** and most imp **memory and mistakes** corrected with taking main keyframe idea of chapter!
* What I did was: I didnt go by teachers method, made imagination 1st priority to find answer (imagination is gr8 way to verify but solving by own/method is the key), and directly jumping on short trick which make us lack confidence, lost memory and confused idea of chapter getting marks all way down.
* One of seniors told thing c/as branching of topics: like kinematics eqns further in collisions etc, connecting dots (topics) and thread (method n common points) making smthing like a diagram in mind so much helpful in mixed ques.
* Sorting of questions in notes such that type 1,2,3 .. 1+2 mix etc can be done in many cases.

more like paper ke time anxiety and time management issue. bohoto ko hota hai. paper dekh ke dimaag pehle 3-4 question blank ho jata hai, jisse confidence girta hai and then panic hota hai. iske baad time dekh ke pata chalta hai ki ek question me hi itna time waste kar diya.

I never used to study till 8th standard, always played games and still topped the class with studying 2 days before the exam, all my classmates used to solve reference books and i solved only ncert for maths. I used to solve their doubts from reference books without any problem and thought maths comes natural to me. Even in 9th and 10th standard i used to read ncert, yes i just used to see the question and think it will be solved this way and proceeds and used to score decent marks in 9th 10th also. I was always in delusion that my maths is strongest and I don't need to solve questions. In 11th 12th i didn't solve any maths and around jee mains time i was getting 20 marks only, even in drop year i don't know how to solve maths but still i am trying to figure out how to study maths because i never did in earlier classes. And all the teachers think i am the smart student Of course I will do big in my life but here i am a loser who can't even score 60 marks in maths. I wish i was never gifted and actually worked my ass off to pass the exam
My mother still says you are a topper and you will get 99 percentile in jee mains 
and to accept the fact that you are not that topper or scholar anymore hurts more than anything its an internal struggle to realize that ab tumse nahi ho payega chahe jitni bhi mehnat kar lo

You used to argue about topics to teacher because you were passionate about it. You did learn to study there. It was just that you were so thorough with the little syllabus that you just used to brush off study materials
Entrance exam is a diffrent game. You can't brush through even a single chapter here, each chapter is just too huge.
Also no one has the skill to do hardwork at first. You do little bits of hardwork in your school which is sufficient for getting pretty good marks at school. Here you need to be consistent with your hardwork or else you are gonna fail badly
I got almost similar marks as about you in school just by studying in the last 2-3 weeks. But in entrance exams 2hrs of study daily >> 14 hrs of study one day a week. As you become consistent, you start remembering things more consistently.
Also ik parents have a lot of expectations, but we should try to ignore it a little bit. Listen to your parents but don't take their expectations to your hearts. Your own expectation itself must not be taken by heart because if you even fail once you start getting sad and depressed. And IT'S OKAY TO FAIL. No one can always fail if you keep working daily with consistency

You don't need to ignore parent brother, you need to ignore expectations. Expectations create will for us to do work, but over expectation destroys this will totally. So you need to set realistic expectations which can be completed in a short period of time, so that you remain motivated
this is pretty clearly not true. gifted kids will not really struggle with JEE. If u do struggle with JEE/NEET, you weren't really gifted as such. Being able to study the syllabus of 9th or 10th is not a big feat. Sorry if im being harsh but you need to get out of this mindset and stop blaming it in being gifted in early grades. Its just a kind of cope if im being honest. Ive seen backbenchers of 10th grade scoring 99+ so even they did not study in 10th yet they're better than half of my grade. If you truly were gifted, you would pass JEE/NEET pretty easily without stress

there are levels to being 'gifted' , no 140 iq gifted person will be able to pass neet or jee that easily , what you're thinking of are 160+ people , they dont fall into the gifted area , they fall into the genius section and even they can fail without hardworking , take tao for example , he still has to study , he still has to work .
And there are nuances to test taking for gifted people , there are people gifted at taking tests , there are ones who struggle with it , it isnt all as cut and dry as you're making it out to be . For me this situation came up in first semester of engineering I thought my whole school life was just people gaslighting me that i am smart and i was never smart getting back to track slowly in second semester i knww where i went wrong in start this feeling is so genuine and most people who be tagged as gifted kids will either experience this in jee neet years or in start of degree β¦we just need to change the method of how to we used to study all the timeβ¦and have some little bit of confidence dont let peopleβs expectations and own dreams crush you that hard that u start questioning yourself we have got this!!just little bit more push than what we are used to do and everything will become normal

People do not understand that downfall is not gifted child syndrome, not having support system and given unnecessary praise and not taught to handle failure is.
I am so annoyed with people thinking they are gifted just because things come easier to them in earlier classes or are able to memorize faster than others or their brains just happened to develop faster than their peers.
When these people enter a competitive space which requires actually high IQ and giftedness to succeed without effort (unlike earlier classes where you can cruise through with a good memory without putting much effort), they then act like hard work is everything.
I think succeeding in jee requires a combination of memory, IQ and effort. The importance of memory is undersold sometimes but the truth is that math is mainly pattern recognition based on past problems you have solved. That's why practice is so important. However, a person with good memory can learn to recognize those patterns by solving much less problems than the average person. And of course, chem requires very good memory. I have a friend who literally remembers all random time stamps of calls because he remembers most of what he sees. He doesn't makes notes (uses notes only in chem) and still performs pretty well.
Obviously, IQ is required to come up with creative and quick solutions to the hard problems you come across. Effort is required to actually apply your memory and IQ in an effective manner.
A true gifted child would not suddenly lose their uniqueness in 11th. They would still be able to score much better than their peers with 10 percent of the effort. I know people who aren't hardworking but still top due to their giftedness in 11th grade. Obviously, some effort is still required. The ones with high IQ are able to solve problems of chapters they barely know. Like they only know just the formula that they read once in a book, but can still solve complex multifaceted problems without much practice of the basics. When they study a chapter, they begin it at an ability level much higher than their average peers.
Accept it, you are probably slightly above average and you need to get in there and put in effort to succeed like almost everyone else in this world
Everything you said was true for me but instead of gifted I am actually a try hard, I try hard so much but when a question comes up in class I somehow do it wrong, I scored very good marks in class 10 and was topper of the school but seems like when new students came into my school, they were just better than me, now every teacher looks me like that one student who was very good before, lekin haar nahi maana hai I will show them who is the boss
True in my case also. It took me 9 months of class 11 To realise I need to work hard for jee, all my smart work was good till 10th. Hopefully I utilise My potential in the best way in these remaining months.

sadly they were right, theres way too many expectations that i couldn't live upto, now i've fallen off, being a topper was my identity which is no more, and just a big failure for all those that expected from me but what hurts deeper is i could've done better, to be of potential yet to never reach it hurts more.
Was the topper and 2nd topper of my class in one of the most reputed schools of India till 10th, scored 95.6% , decided to leave that school because of "distractions" (padhai ke alawa waha sub kuch hota tha , croro rupe ke functions , fests , events , hotel jaisa canteen ect ... Joined a reputed coaching with a dummy school to prepare for jee , was doing good in class 11th (thoda coaching se thoda online se karke khatam Kiya 11th) scoring good in jee tests and was solving jee problems easily

I don't want to one to break it to you, and no offence to you but the reason things were easy asf before 11th is because...it was easy asf. It has nothing to do with children being super smart or geniuses. It was literally easy and a bit of study could get you very far - same stroy with 12th boards. 11th 12th JEE/NEET prep.is harder because it needs a proper strategy to do well + immense, ACTUAL competition.

Bhai mera to thoda alag hi scene hai.10th tak average tha main because I hate writing. Studies till 10th are primarily subjective. But 11th mein jab maine school change kiya, pehle din se hi I was the intelligent one. Pehle din physics wale sir ne olympiad ke questions diye, aur maine 2-3 questions ka instantly answer de diya Uske baad main thode mahine pdha and november'22 ke around maine dhang se padhai karni chhod di. I still top the class. Har kisi se lad leta hoon. Kuch log surely mujhe hate karte honge. Kuch teacher bhi hate karte hain but they can't do anything because unke subject mein margin se first aata hoon. Mujhe lagta tha ki mera luck bohot hi zyada acha hai. But JEE mein 27 mil gyi aur 98.33 par reh gya(π€‘) Ab padhne ki koshish kar rha hoon advanced ke liye but padha hi nhi jaa rha because aadat hi nhi hai. Boards aise overconfidence mein de rha hoon ek din padhke jaise main hi air 1 hoon. Kal maths ka exam hai, ab padhna shuru kara hai. I know ki 75 to main paar kar lunga but still, sharam hi nhi hai. Main last time jab shiddat se padha tha, it was 10th ke term-1 exams. Sab kehte hain ki overconfidence tutega tera but mujhe khud nhi smjh aata ki main kya karoon. Padhai bhi nhi ho rhi merse. I was the same and a bit more rougher but i didn't realized it was but till i hit my drop year (now).
I was scoring 25/25 and i was the alone in the topper section to always get 25/25 and when i dont, my teachers give a really weird look onto. They expected me to gain some AIR rank under 500 in advanced and i failed mains, they really began to keep me away etc. When there was question my substitute teacher couldn't solve, they asked me to explain etc, students were friendly to me so that wasn't any concern.
Now this thing is soo stuck with me that i can manage, i can't even study how much i force to. It feels like i can crack it easily but i know i can't and im so normalized to being able to get down questions with 10-15 mins studying daily 1 week before exam since 4th class and crack 87+ percentage easily and here i am stuck. Unable to go for studying unable to give up.

I think your last point is very important.Being gifted is not an absolute metric.As the difficulty of challenges in increase, you see no of gifted people decrease.From class 10 to JEE to College exams to Placements you keep on discovering more gifted people.

Yeah.... This has been my story. Also when your study material/course changes drastically, that's a struggle. NEET/JEE ki padhai and Engg/Medical ki padhai is not the same. Requires totally different strategies and understanding.
Changed schools 3 times in life, was the favourite student for about 90% of all the teachers I studied with. I was just way too good. I always topped the class. Been a topper all my life. Boards mei I got half-decent percentages (91% in both 10th and 12th) not exactly topper marks but chal jata hai ig
Just as you said, competitive exams are tough, had to work way too hard for them. Even thought about/attempted suicide because of my bad performances in 11th. Yet I somehow recovered in 12th, with the help of teachers and all. Hits your confidence and self worth really bad. Plus I had some girl problems both during 10th Boards year and 12th Boards + NEET wala year.
Gave JEE Mains 2022 ka 1 attempt for Physics and chem Practice and backup plan, 95%ile aaya (AIR yaad nahi ig 30k or more) (ik not good enough but kuchh na kuchh toh mil hi jata)
Gave IOQB for bio ka practice, was in top 1% of the nation. Rank 53 out of 10000 candidates. (Still don't know how the exam works, but ig 35 ke neeche rank aata toh I would have been selected for the National Olympiad team, anyone's free to correct me)
Fir finally D-Day aaya. NEET 2022. The moment I had been waiting for 2 saal se. The one exam for which I lived the life of a hermit. And... I fucked up. Got only 605/720. AIR 18k kuchh tha. Still managed to get a decent Govt college first round in my home state, but main city mei nahi, outskirts.
But college mei aake my world totally changed. Obviously, padhai ko bilkul Serious nahi liya. I thought ho jayega baakiyon jaisa. I treated first year like a break after qualifying NEET in first attempt. Ego was at a sky high because I studied with a lot droppers. Most of my batch is way older than me. So I tried to study full year ka portion in the last two weeks before the Exams.
And guess what? First year ke Finals mei I failed in 1 out of the 3 subjects (Anatomy). Only 41 others failed out of 200 students. Finally abhi mistake realise ho Raha hai while I'm studying for Supplementary Exams. Theory ho gaya hai, tomorrow I've got my Practicals. Really hoping I pass and get to join the rest of my batch, and I don't have to repeat the year for 1 fucking subject. Shit's tough out here, pray for me

But you know, eventually, even jee level stuff becomes like how it used to be when we were kids
All you need to do is, just expose yourself to those things that are being taught in class via oneshots, or some interesting videos, like the ones made by Vsauce, veritasium, astrum, and so on. When you even hear a word that you listened to in such videos, your brain would automatically get hella activated, and start thinking about it, which leads to better grasping
And, all you need to do is, learn to accept this fact. Even jee/neet requires a mix of IQ n hardwork - ESPECIALLY jee. For neet, I get it that you need to learn a lot, which is not something we're inherently good at...but that's the way life works...you gotta play by the cards you've been dealt with, rather than envying other's cards.

I also keep crying abt it after result, ig I do lack confidence solid memory and consistent dedication, I can score easily in adv but mains aukat dikha deti hai. So hv finally started having concentration on memory, learning, repetitive practice and fast paced revision. * **Edit**: If sm1 gets good **method with alternate short trick** and most imp **memory and mistakes** corrected with taking main keyframe idea of chapter! * What I did was: I didnt go by teachers method, made imagination 1st priority to find answer (imagination is gr8 way to verify but solving by own/method is the key), and directly jumping on short trick which make us lack confidence, lost memory and confused idea of chapter getting marks all way down. * One of seniors told thing c/as branching of topics: like kinematics eqns further in collisions etc, connecting dots (topics) and thread (method n common points) making smthing like a diagram in mind so much helpful in mixed ques. * Sorting of questions in notes such that type 1,2,3 .. 1+2 mix etc can be done in many cases.

Why it is fucking relatable. I never used to study till 8th standard, always played games and still topped the class with studying 2 days before the exam, all my classmates used to solve reference books and i solved only ncert for maths. I used to solve their doubts from reference books without any problem and thought maths comes natural to me. Even in 9th and 10th standard i used to read ncert, yes i just used to see the question and think it will be solved this way and proceeds and used to score decent marks in 9th 10th also. I was always in delusion that my maths is strongest and I don't need to solve questions. In 11th 12th i didn't solve any maths and around jee mains time i was getting 20 marks only, even in drop year i don't know how to solve maths but still i am trying to figure out how to study maths because i never did in earlier classes. And all the teachers think i am the smart student Of course I will do big in my life but here i am a loser who can't even score 60 marks in maths. What is with people thinking they are gifted. You used to argue about topics to teacher because you were passionate about it. You did learn to study there. It was just that you were so thorough with the little syllabus that you just used to brush off study materials Entrance exam is a diffrent game. You can't brush through even a single chapter here, each chapter is just too huge. Also no one has the skill to do hardwork at first. You do little bits of hardwork in your school which is sufficient for getting pretty good marks at school. Here you need to be consistent with your hardwork or else you are gonna fail badly I got almost similar marks as about you in school just by studying in the last 2-3 weeks. But in entrance exams 2hrs of study daily >> 14 hrs of study one day a week. As you become consistent, you start remembering things more consistently. Also ik parents have a lot of expectations, but we should try to ignore it a little bit. Listen to your parents but don't take their expectations to your hearts. Your own expectation itself must not be taken by heart because if you even fail once you start getting sad and depressed. And IT'S OKAY TO FAIL. this is pretty clearly not true. gifted kids will not really struggle with JEE. If u do struggle with JEE/NEET, you weren't really gifted as such. Being able to study the syllabus of 9th or 10th is not a big feat. Sorry if im being harsh but you need to get out of this mindset and stop blaming it in being gifted in early grades. Its just a kind of cope if im being honest. Ive seen backbenchers of 10th grade scoring 99+ so even they did not study in 10th yet they're better than half of my grade. If you truly were gifted, you would pass JEE/NEET pretty easily without stress

I am so annoyed with people thinking they are gifted just because things come easier to them in earlier classes or are able to memorize faster than others or their brains just happened to develop faster than their peers. When these people enter a competitive space which requires actually high IQ and giftedness to succeed without effort (unlike earlier classes where you can cruise through with a good memory without putting much effort), they then act like hard work is everything. I think succeeding in jee requires a combination of memory, IQ and effort. The importance of memory is undersold sometimes but the truth is that math is mainly pattern recognition based on past problems you have solved. That's why practice is so important. However, a person with good memory can learn to recognize those patterns by solving much less problems than the average person. And of course, chem requires very good memory. I have a friend who literally remembers all random time stamps of calls because he remembers most of what he sees. He doesn't makes notes (uses notes only in chem) and still performs pretty well. Obviously, IQ is required to come up with creative and quick solutions to the hard problems you come across. Effort is required to actually apply your memory and IQ in an effective manner. A true gifted child would not suddenly lose their uniqueness in 11th. They would still be able to score much better than their peers with 10 percent of the effort. I know people who aren't hardworking but still top due to their giftedness in 11th grade. Obviously, some effort is still required. The ones with high IQ are able to solve problems of chapters they barely know. Like they only know just the formula that they read once in a book, but can still solve complex multifaceted problems without much practice of the basics. When they study a chapter, they begin it at an ability level much higher than their average peers. Accept it, you are probably slightly above average and you need to get in there and put in effort to succeed like almost everyone else in this world

Joined a reputed coaching with a dummy school to prepare for jee , was doing good in class 11th (thoda coaching se thoda online se karke khatam Kiya 11th) scoring good in jee tests and was solving jee problems easily Came to class 12th , ignored my studies completely, just focused on completing the syllabus (wo bhi nahi ho paya) , didn't revise and thought ki bohot easy hai .... Ajj ye halat ho gayi hai ki 12th mein pata nhai 75% bhi ayegi ya nahi :_) jee ka syllabus complete hai isliye pata hai ki drop year mein karlunga par ... Bhai mera to thoda alag hi scene hai.10th tak average tha main because I hate writing. Studies till 10th are primarily subjective. But 11th mein jab maine school change kiya, pehle din se hi I was the intelligent one. Pehle din physics wale sir ne olympiad ke questions diye, aur maine 2-3 questions ka instantly answer de diya Uske baad main thode mahine pdha and november'22 ke around maine dhang se padhai karni chhod di. I still top the class. Har kisi se lad leta hoon. Kuch log surely mujhe hate karte honge. Kuch teacher bhi hate karte hain but they can't do anything because unke subject mein margin se first aata hoon. Mujhe lagta tha ki mera luck bohot hi zyada acha hai. But JEE mein 27 mil gyi aur 98.33 par reh gya(π€‘) Ab padhne ki koshish kar rha hoon advanced ke liye but padha hi nhi jaa rha because aadat hi nhi hai. Boards aise overconfidence mein de rha hoon ek din padhke jaise main hi air 1 hoon. Kal maths ka exam hai, ab padhna shuru kara hai. I know ki 75 to main paar kar lunga but still, sharam hi nhi hai. Main last time jab shiddat se padha tha, it was 10th ke term-1 exams. Sab kehte hain ki overconfidence tutega tera but mujhe khud nhi smjh aata ki main kya karoon. Padhai bhi nhi ho rhi merse. Sahi bataun to mujhe padhai mein interest hai bhi nahi. Mujhe programming aur finance mein interest hai chemistry mein nhi...
Us bhai big af us, guide kardo muje bhi. I was the same and a bit more rougher but i didn't realized it was but till i hit my drop year (now). I was scoring 25/25 and i was the alone in the topper section to always get 25/25 and when i dont, my teachers give a really weird look onto. They expected me to gain some AIR rank under 500 in advanced and i failed mains, they really began to keep me away etc. When there was question my substitute teacher couldn't solve, they asked me to explain etc, students were friendly to me so that wasn't any concern. Now this thing is soo stuck with me that i can manage, i can't even study how much i force to. It feels like i can crack it easily but i know i can't and im so normalized to being able to get down questions with 10-15 mins studying daily 1 week before exam since 4th class and crack 87+ percentage easily and here i am stuck. Unable to go for studying unable to give up.

Average 10th nibba getting 99%, thinking he is super smart. Tumne 11th se phele kbhi competitive exams ke question solve bhi kiye the, ki khali 10th ke basis per khud ko gifted smjhne lage. Mere sath tou opposite hota (under confident kid) 9 and 10th dono class mai ioqm clear kiya tha. Tabhi aaj tak khud per utna confidence nhi hai.

I think your last point is very important.Being gifted is not an absolute metric.As the difficulty of challenges in increase, you see no of gifted people decrease.From class 10 to JEE to College exams to Placements you keep on discovering more gifted people. How gifted you are depende really on the situation.

Yeah.... This has been my story. Also when your study material/course changes drastically, that's a struggle. NEET/JEE ki padhai and Engg/Medical ki padhai is not the same. Requires totally different strategies and understanding. Changed schools 3 times in life, was the favourite student for about 90% of all the teachers I studied with. I was just way too good. I always topped the class. Been a topper all my life. Boards mei I got half-decent percentages (91% in both 10th and 12th) not exactly topper marks but chal jata hai ig Just as you said, competitive exams are tough, had to work way too hard for them. Even thought about/attempted suicide because of my bad performances in 11th. Yet I somehow recovered in 12th, with the help of teachers and all. Hits your confidence and self worth really bad. Plus I had some girl problems both during 10th Boards year and 12th Boards + NEET wala year. Gave JEE Mains 2022 ka 1 attempt for Physics and chem Practice and backup plan, 95%ile aaya (AIR yaad nahi ig 30k or more) (ik not good enough but kuchh na kuchh toh mil hi jata) Gave IOQB for bio ka practice, was in top 1% of the nation. Rank 53 out of 10000 candidates. (Still don't know how the exam works, but ig 35 ke neeche rank aata toh I would have been selected for the National Olympiad team, anyone's free to correct me) Fir finally D-Day aaya. NEET 2022. The moment I had been waiting for 2 saal se. The one exam for which I lived the life of a hermit. And... I fucked up. Got only 605/720. AIR 18k kuchh tha. Still managed to get a decent Govt college first round in my home state, but main city mei nahi, outskirts. But college mei aake my world totally changed. Obviously, padhai ko bilkul Serious nahi liya. I thought ho jayega baakiyon jaisa. I treated first year like a break after qualifying NEET in first attempt. Ego was at a sky high because I studied with a lot droppers. Most of my batch is way older than me. So I tried to study full year ka portion in the last two weeks before the Exams. And guess what? First year ke Finals mei I failed in 1 out of the 3 subjects (Anatomy). Only 41 others failed out of 200 students. Finally abhi mistake realise ho Raha hai while I'm studying for Supplementary Exams. Theory ho gaya hai, tomorrow I've got my Practicals. Really hoping I pass and get to join the rest of my batch, and I don't have to repeat the year for 1 fucking subject. Shit's tough out here, pray for me

Hey dude, just wanna say, I'm one of that kind, and I was in your shoes. I never knew how to do hardwork, not do I know it now But you know, eventually, even jee level stuff becomes like how it used to be when we were kids All you need to do is, just expose yourself to those things that are being taught in class via oneshots, or some interesting videos, like the ones made by Vsauce, veritasium, astrum, and so on. When you even hear a word that you listened to in such videos, your brain would automatically get hella activated, and start thinking about it, which leads to better grasping And, all you need to do is, learn to accept this fact. Even jee/neet requires a mix of IQ n hardwork - ESPECIALLY jee. For neet, I get it that you need to learn a lot, which is not something we're inherently good at...but that's the way life works...you gotta play by the cards you've been dealt with, rather than envying other's cards.
