Super random, but I was an elementary school ALT in Mutsu, Aomori from 2013-2016 (3-years). I taught at 6 different elementary schools there. You're really lucky to get placed there and you'll have a blast. I can't help you with any predecessor info, but if you got any questions, feel free to private message me. I can also send you a fat PowerPoint (of 80+ slides) that I gave to my replacement (as well as my Supervisor for future Mutsu ALTs) when I left. It covered info on getting used to the area, your schools, things to bring, and things to keep in mind. You are either going to be placed (apartment-wise) in downtown Mutsu, Aomori or Kawauchi, Aomori like I was, which is about 30-40 minutes west of downtown Mutsu (but still part of Mutsu city).

I mean I don’t really but results were released early April and I only got off the waitlist yesterday. Not that I’m complaining; even the person who graduates last in their class from med school gets to be called “doctor” ;)

They upgrade from the wait-list all the way through December Source, i was a December upgrade 😂

Yes! There’s a Hokkaido wide discord group and Facebook. You can’s find Sapporo peeps there.

You’ll probably be put up in a leopalace (prefurnished apartment but small size). No subsidized rent either. It’s the default housing for Sapporo-shi JETs.

Does Trinidad work kinda funny? They only tell you your prefecture and not whether you're prefectural or city? Not trying to be condescending or anything but did the letter that initially tell you Tottori say Tottori Prefecture twice?
