Use "Help | Report a bug" and attach the logs.

Optimum1997

Thanks - I done this there.

codeguru42

Rider 2024.1 was using a lot of cpu for me, even when it should have been idle. I upgraded to the 2024.1.1 patch that stopped yesterday and it seems to be fixed.

TheTrueTuring

No crashes here whatsoever. Sometimes a plug-in but rarely

wired93

same here, no probs on m1/m2 with webstorm, rustrover and android studio

Optimum1997

I don't actually have many installed plugins apart from the defaults - My webstorm has 0 installed plugins from my end and that 1 crashes the most. Initially i thought it was plugins on my IntelliJ and Rider

TheTrueTuring

It will say if it’s plugins. The report shows why it crashes

Fun-Professor-4414

It’s a bug in the current releases on Mac. Check here for details and a workaround. https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JBR-6817/SIGSEGV-0xb-at-libawtlwawt.dylib0x8e618-MTLGCDestroyMTLGraphicsConfigblockinvoke0x20#focus=Change-27-9451713.0-0

Temporary-Release949

This solves all my issues

SpiritOfTheVoid

Happens to me as well. I’ve upgraded OS that includes the Java fix, so it’s not that. Pycharm, Webstorm and Datagrip CTD multiple times a day.

livedog

I haven’t had a crash in 3 years until yesterday’s update. Now it crashes every third hour. (Yes, I reported)

ivomitkittens

I've been having some pretty frequent crashes since the 2024.1 updates on my M2 as well. WebStorm has been crashing pretty consistently 2-3x a day and DataGrip probably once every other day. Hope it gets fixed soon.

chiakix

macos 14.4 had that problem. If you are using it, update to 14.4.1

Optimum1997

14.4.1 (23E224) - version i am on currently. All of my applications are up to date also.

Olemus

I dont have any advice/help but I have the same issues on an M2 with frequent crashes. Its not enough to be annoying yet but it's getting there.

Optimum1997

I'm glad that i'm not the only one. I have the 'Apple M2 Max' and it's certainly crashing 1x per day - depending on usage.

GreatValueProducts

I have the same experience, it has remarkably more crashes recently. It is pretty annoying because I need to run multiple applications (with the task runner) at the same time and I need to restart all of them when it crashes.

sashin9998

I came looking for this. Since upgrading to 2024.1 few days ago, Intellij goes from almost never crashing to crashing several times per day on my mac

dixhuit

WebStorm recently started crashing like crazy for me on Linux. I disabled the JetBrains AI plugin and the JetBrains Space plugin and it hasn't crashed once ever since. Good luck!

Optimum1997

I uninstalled both of them too there.

lostintranslation647

I use rider and resently it has also started crashing several times a day. I assume one of the latest updates is the cause.

Due_Level2754

For me it used to be PHPStorm, when I updated my macOS, it seemed to fix the problem.

Ok_Object7636

What version of macOS are you using? There was a bug in 14.4 that regularly created java applications. It has been fixed with the latest macOS update, I think it’s 14.4.1, but I’m not on my Mac now so cannot check.

Optimum1997

current on: 14.4.1 (23E224)

Ok_Object7636

Oh then I don’t know. I had no issues after upgrading to 14.4.1.

_angh_

macbook pro m2, jetbrains all the time, no issues. Try to remove all plugin first.

Own-Tax-9839

A lot crash I am experiencing as well.

ald156

I upgraded Rider to 2024.1.1 yesterday and worked all day today on MacBook Pro M2 with no crashes whatsoever

brassknucklenerd

Perfect. That's what I was waiting for (I had downgraded to 2023.x until this was fixed).

Keardo

Goland/RustRover no crashes

trex1475

Same!
