Im glad that he cares about your safety at least.

Aggressive-Bed3269

I asked the owner if I had his permission to send him an email that said: "Happy new year Steven! Hey, this all sounds like a “you problem” but have a nice day! Ps: I will keep an eye out for banana peels, thank you.”

kinezumi89

And?? Did you get the go-ahead?

Aggressive-Bed3269

I got a good hearty laugh from him when I asked, but he ultimately said it’s better to “not feed the trolls". Heh.

shadow247

Guy is obviously having a bad day. Im pretty fucking pissed at the guy that fixed my bike wrong, but its my fault for trusting him in the 1st place..

Background_Current54

True story where I live we do annual inspections if your car fails it illegal to drive until work is done. We carry out such tests in my garage. My manager once explained to a customer that his car had failed and needed work but we couldn't get the parts in for a couple days. Cue melt down from customer 'I CANT GET TO WORK ILL LOSE MY JOB HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO LIVE, YOUVE DONE THIS ON PURPOSE ETC.' All that shit... my boss said in the calmest tone. 'Not to be rude but... that's a you problem.' I had to walk off I almost started laughing there and then. Probably not the best thing to say to a customer but he was right.

AgreeablePie

Pretty shitty situation to be in. Around me you've got some time in to fix your car if you get it inspected on time before your risk getting pulled over (but it can get failed on a bunch of stuff, like emissions, that has nothing to do with safety)

Background_Current54

Oh I agree same here always failing on emissions. I understand the customers who get angry but they need to understand that we don't set the rules and we would all be out of a job if we falsified a test.

Nottherealeddy

Emissions ARE a safety thing. Ever see a plugged catalytic converter on a running vehicle? I have temped them as high as 1450* with the digital pyrometer. Fires happen really easy when cats fail.

gadget73

lots of emissions things do not cause safety hazards. A bad evap solenoid or gas cap isn't going to catch a vehicle on fire.

bjornartl

Sounds like the kinda person who has waited out thay extra time already and would totally wait even longer if he was given even more time.

NHguyIAm

Where is that? Want to make sure I don't move there

Fuckedby2FA

FUCK YOU!

xenxray

“Fuck you on Thursday”

imchasingyou

"lemme see my schedule... nope, only on saturday"

quiverindolphin

Be there or be square

Guessing the customer is one of those. Always enjoy a year long drama with a customer that just wanna be obstinate and no pay.

Aggressive-Bed3269

In September 2021 I got a shifter issue (shifter wouldn’t return to center) he was having Goodwilled and paid for 100% by BMW for him since he got the bike to us after his warranty has expired. We did brake calipers under a recall, we replaced his entire return spring assembly on the selector shaft inside of his transmission. He had been kicking the shifter so hard on downshifts that he broke the return spring! (I have never seen it before or since) We also did a left engine cover gasket because it was leaking. Whole bike was CLAPPED. Bike ran perfectly when it left here. he had sent a complaining email months after the bike was returned to him, and we reached out to try and rectify the issue to the satisfaction of all parties, and he was (surprisingly) rude, abrasive, and entitled. My favorite part is that I’m not even the one who worked on their motorcycle! I was merely the service manager at the time.

cheesefromagequeso

You said it's a 310 so I'd be surprised if it had any quickshifter let alone bi-directional, what's the odds that he was slamming it down clutchless anyways? Lol.

Aggressive-Bed3269

Good to great LOL

Skyfork

If you kick the shifter hard enough it’ll slam into gear. Completely horrible for the gearbox and everything attached to it but I could see it working once for this guy and him going, “I guess I’m just so good I don’t need a quick shifter”

BusyAtilla

Like stated- one of those year long headaches. Good luck OP

D_for_Drive

Oof. The problem is between the seat and handlebars. Reminds me of a customer who was basically standing in the rear brake pedal while he rode, he kept telling us to “bleed the rear brake”. He also told us his rear brakes got so hot he felt the need to douse them with water.

[deleted]

It's that loose but behind the steering wheel again.

Skyfork

That’s impressive he’s clapped out a g310. Those things are like brand new.

Ghstfce

Yeah... Fuck that guy. If he doesn't understand that you don't need to stomp to downshift, then he has no business owning a bike.

LoloJohn

>Guessing the customer is one of those. Always enjoy a year long drama with a customer that just wanna be obstinate and no pay. The best part is the drama being added to an otherwise boring day. If you need attention, many will take any connection with someone they can. My Mom and my wife both actually preferred the screaming for their dopamine rush. May need more than a hug to fix this.

MrsZ-

You know when you say something and it sounded better in your head. That's what this reminds me of

49thDipper

“I’m sorry but you don’t fit the profile of our preferred customers. Have a nice day.”

[deleted]

Oh thank goodness for Vinsolutions

Aggressive-Bed3269

I hate it so much 🤣

GuitarJazzer

You know, if I picked up my bike from service and it still didn't run, I would say, "Excuse, it seems that my bike doesn't run. Perhaps you gentlemen could take a second look at it." I would wait for a prospecting email and then totally lose my shit.

takecarebrushyohair

Harley?

Aggressive-Bed3269

It's a BMW G310gs

GrapefruitFun7135

Sounds like most BMW drivers/riders. It's like a requirement to having a bmw.

Skyfork

BMW riders are different than BMW drivers. In motorcycles a BMW isn’t much of a prestige brand. They make nice bikes but there’s plenty of brands that are more premium/special. In most segments BMW motorcycles are actually per price competitive and are decent values for a well screwed together motorcycle. Although pretty much every motorcycle made by anyone is a screaming deal vs a $35k Harley CVO.

xTofik

Lol, those are not even build by BMW. They are produced by TVS in India.

Aggressive-Bed3269

Yes. This is well known. They're pieces of 💩

hollywoodnikki

What kind a bike is it and where about a is your shop. I had a co worker a few years back buy a bmw bike cause he's All about anything bmw and when. He picked it up he actually didn't know how to ride it. Dropped it a few times I was and needed a few chains and cables

[deleted]

Sounds like this could be racist? I'm still trying to figure out why only Thursday? I get the whole thirsty Thursday joint but we probably wouldn't be so thirsty if there was more action the rest of the days of the week

TommyTuttle

I don’t see any inkling of racism. Just a pissed off customer. “On Thursday” is just the lead in to the header of the quoted email, as in, “On Thursday, January 26,, John Q. Public wrote…”

Jarrodioro

Uhh… was it a Harley…? Or an ex con dilapidated gsxr..?

thorsrumhammer

“Hi Steven”

phat-khmarra

God forbid he just brings the bike back and say its not fixed, but noooooo hide behind a email. Morons of this world.

Alan_Smithee_

“Fuck you on Thursday”

Bradster3

Sends most hurtful but safest theat to adviser. Adviser-"hi steven"
