I’m very impatiently waiting for new episodes of My Sweet Mobster, so while I wait I’m rewatching Business Proposal. Just another light and silly drama while I wait for my current light and silly drama to update!
It’s so cute and fluffy, they fold in the seriousness in a way that’s not too jarring considering how fluffy it is and how serious it could potentially get.
I just finished that earlier this month and absolutely loved it! I do think they dragged out the angsty episodes for too long, but the payoff was well worth it. It was my first Jang Hyuk drama...he is awesome! Their chemistry was great and his laugh...what a hoot!
He’s so charismatic, talented and handsome, right? I agree about the angsty episodes as well. I wanted to see his smile again!! And that iconic laugh. ☺️(and those abs) 😉
Just finished episode 8 of **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon** and the romance is *sooooooooo* cute…Up til episode 6, it was more workplace drama, very slow build of the romance but wow the payoff so far has been so worth it! Oh gosh - watching Hye Jin be so playful after being so proper and restrained for so long was just a joy! And when Jun Ho tells >!her his patience is used up and to not back away any longer- whew! 🥵!< I love them together and I know something is going to get in their way but as long as they’re together in the end, I will happily root for them!
I'm so glad you mentioned this one. I couldn't figure out where to stream it in the US but now I see it's on Viki. On my list...Ji Sung is great in everything he does.
I'm watching that as well. I think it's currently the best ongoing drama, easily one of the best of this year. The script is brillant and the acting is excellent. I wish more people watch.
And the cherry on top is that there is no unnecessary romance.
**Miss Night and Day** (3/16): I’m so glad I gave this drama a chance after not initially being all that interested in it. Lee Jung-eun is a riot in a rare comedic role, and I’m quickly falling under the spell of actress Eunji. She has a lovely screen presence and is very likable. The drama is doing a nice job of balancing the main storyline with the crime subplot. The only time I have an issue with these subplots is when they feel tacked on like an afterthought, whereas in this drama, it feels like the filmmakers have planned out this subplot meticulously, and know exactly what they’re doing with it.
**The Devil Judge** (16/16): For a drama containing so many strong elements, the whole was ultimately less than the sum of its parts. More than anything, I wish the drama had stayed with the basic premise of live televised trials decided by the public, for longer. Towards the end, the twists and turns became increasingly convoluted, which diminished the drama’s impact. Performance-wise, the standouts were Ji Sung (of course) and young Jeon Chae-eun, who played his niece, Elijah. The [instrumental version of “Tempest”](https://youtu.be/8eb2b947U4w?si=HQQLAsCiEf-YnDvF) by Huckleberryfinn will live forever on my list of favorite OSTs.
I have to agree with you for The Devil Judge, sometimes episodic parts can be really good and shouldn't always have to give way to some bigger, convoluted conspiracy.
**Flex X Cop** (9/16) Binged half of the show over the rainy weekend and didn't expect to like it so much. It's one of those body cop action-comedies that don't go for realism, but are very entertaining to watch. It helps that the cases are really good and I had a lot of fun trying to solve them.
I also find that the show did a great job with the ML. While he is portrayed as an irresponsible man child, he never strikes me as annoying (like this type of characters often do) and I feel genuine empathy toward him.
**Joy of Life S2** (10/36) (c-drama). The ML is very likeable and when the comedy pops in, it is usually done well. However, I am still trying to grasp the court intrigue mostly because I have forgotten parts from the first season and it's 46 episodes, so way too long to rewatch. That is why I don't watch multi-season shows 😑. That being said, I am still enjoying it. I will finish it, even if it will probably take me forever like the first season.
On episode 11 of hometown cha- cha - cha. >!I don't really like the director guy, but I do feel bad for him for getting rejected, though.!< >!the chemistry between Hye - jin and Duk - sik is really good.!< >!also, Hye - jin is completely different when she's in love. **Uncle Samsik** (completed) - I don't give 10/10s on first watch, but this came in at like 9.5. maybe 9.75. And if not for hulu's TERRIBLE interface, I would immediately rewatch this. One of the better examples of ripped from the history books fiction that I've seen in awhile. I imagine this is much more impactful to Koreans than to international audiences - partially because of the specific generational trauma but also partially because it required quite a bit of *narrative* literacy.
There was a surprising lack of hand holding about the timeline and historical context. We're in the time period leading up to and immediately following the 1960 Presidential election. The show assumes that you've studied Korean history and that you will understand the setting immediately upon seeing the dates and will get all the references to real life people and events.
So not only were there a LOT of storylines and people and factions flying at the audience, most of the background of who everybody was, why they were important, and why they were at odds with each other was never really explained.
Also, the fact that the main characters are designed to be the type of people in the footnotes and in the margins of history kind of doom this to a somewhat tragic and unsatisfying ending. Sure they're the protagonists of their story (ie this drama) but not the ones who are remembered or the ones that get the hero's ending. No their stories just kind of peter out. I've said it before but if you watched the film Kingmaker, it's a similar set up.
**My Sweet Mobster** (4/16) for the cute (and Uhm Tae Goo). **Dare to Love Me** (14/16) mostly for Lee Yoo Young and also for the cute - ignoring the not-very-thrilling investigation and routine family issues. And then **The Whirlwind** when it drops. Ugh I can never get enough of corrupt scheming ahjusshi dramas!! Streamers, greenlight more!
**Crash** (10/12) Decent action/police procedural. Lee Min Ki *just* smiled for the first time last ep, lol.
**My Sweet Mobster** (1/16) Started this mainly for Um Tae Goo (I loved **Night in Paradise**) and thought Han Sun Hwa was hilarious in **Work Later, Drink Now**. First ep was cute!
**The Interest of Love** (3/16) I remember lots of complaints about this when it aired, but I love a complicated workplace romance. I'm starting to become a little annoyed with both leads, we'll see what happens.
**The Midnight Romance in Hagwon** (14/16) So good! Lovely romance, edge-of-your-seat workplace drama, warm slice of life feels. Pretty sure this is going to end up my favorite Ahn Pan Seok (and I really liked both SITR and OSN), maybe fave drama of the year so far.

I am not watching this one (yet), but I'm glad to hear he smiles! For someone with what I consider to be a devastatingly handsome smile he sure does tend toward the less-smiley roles.
The character has good reason not to smile, and it's nice when he finally does. I love LMK in his gloomy/tsundere roles, but my favorite is when he played a super-chatty neurotic guy in **My Liberation Notes**.

That's definitely my favourite Lee Min Ki role ever! He was amazing as Chang Hee in MLN.
Same here! Chang Hee is my absolute favorite. Best lines, best funny moments, and hands down the best resolution. The moment when >!he was running away from Mr. Gu after the car incident!< had my crying with laughter.
He certainly does serious well. I think that might be why I cherish his smiles so much.

I'm not big on workplace dramas, but I'd have to say I've gotten into that aspect of TMRIH a lot more than I thought I would. I do still prefer the romance aspect and hope the final two episodes are much more about that (I think the last couple episodes have had very, very little), but I find they have made the work stuff pretty interesting so far.

I'm with you on every aspect of that sentence. I was really looking forward to this after hearing another Ahn Pan Seok drama was finally coming out, but I didn't expect to like it more than those earlier two of his so easily, especially after really enjoying them as well.
I have a soft spot for **The Interest of Love**. I get the complaints, I do... but it was eventful enough to balance that out in my opinion. I enjoyed it. Hope you do, too!

* **Midnight Romance in Hagwon (14/16):** it just never made it for me, from start to finish. Too slow, academy setting turned out to be much more boring than I thought and leads alone can't carry all that weight. Disappointing, maybe I had too many expectations;
* **Dare to Love Me (14/16):** a lot of nothing, writing is indulging in the filler while waiting for the finale. Has some fun moments though nothing really stands out;
* **My Sweet Mobster (4/16):** a well done, by the book rom-com so far, one that is elevated by quirky leads and hilarious situations aplenty, really fun but also able to be serious and even introspective sometimes, thumbs up;
* **Dreaming of a F'ing Fairytale (8/10):** zero seriousness, tropes for days, chaotic leads, quick pacing, just the perfect palate cleanser, entertainment without pretenses. PYJ is wonderful as usual, that helps too.
So for some reason Nam Gyu Ri is actually the FL in **My Military Valentine,** whose plot sounds like a notorious drama already, and I'll have to see where it gets. That, recovering **Atypical Family** and maybe a rewatch or two when things subside, no time to rest.
**Dare to Love Me** could have gone so many interesting places with the idea of a South Korean verison of an Amish community (historic vs modern social hierarchy! historic vs modern cultural arts! historic vs modern comedy of manners!) and it dropped the ball on all of them. I can't believe it was greenlit for 16 episodes, it's at best a 12 episode show.

**High School Return of a Gangster** - This was a fulfilling watch. Bullies getting their comeuppance, and gangsters being softies. Wish the BL element wasn't removed, but it was still a good show. 8.5 out of 10 Stars
I felt like I was going mad with the insane hype Lovely Runner was getting. Each to their own but it is a very poorly and lazily written show. I really couldn't get into it at all.
I got my husband to watch Lovely Runner with me because he enjoyed CLOY so much (my 3rd rewatch), and LR had such high ratings. Neither of us understood the hype. Next time I'll wait a year to see if the ratings normalize before deciding whether to subject him to a show like that!
You'll have to skip watch a bit.. I binged it to catch up and definitely didn't find the college era as wonderful. Felt like there was too much filler and not much story going on. Skip through lots of the fun/friend scenes in the beach village. Same with the final timeline around ep 13. Just fillers. The story is super cute and I loved the overarching romance but the show could've easily been 8 to 12 episodes especially since they never bothered to explore the time travel aspect or explain anything properly.
**# Doctor Romantic S2:** It's been so long since I last watched a medical drama, and I loved S1. Though I miss Dr. Kang Dong Joo (played by Yoo Yeon Seok), Dr. Seo Woo Jin (Ahn Hyo Seop) was certainly a great upgrade to the drama.
**# The Midnight Romance in Hagwon:** On hold right now, after ep 10. I'm not sure if I love it or not. But it's most certainly very...warm and healing to watch. I will pick it up after the finale airs.
**# I Promised You the Moon (Thai BL):** The prequel of this drama was an absolute gem! The drama portrayed the real-life struggles and pain of the boys. I'm only just finished ep 1 but I am absolutely in love with PP Krit, who did his role amazingly well.
Oh and I just finished **Kieta Hatsukoi** a few hours back, but that was a rewatch.
My sweet mobster - I beg you all to not to judge this show with the first 2 episodes..I was not sure till 2nd episode but my sister insisted me to watch it..She was not wrong..3rd episode was so nice😻.A former mobster running a food company with ex cons falling in love with a kids content creator..This is a unique storyline..right?! The ratings are low because some people judged it by the cutesy pink poster?!! Its light hearted,sweet and silly and I'm all in for it!!
Miss night and day - I'm loving this drama..it started slow but I'm happy I continued it 😄 Lee jun eun's acting is so fun to watch. The murder subplot makes it more interesting but I'm a bit unhappy that FL is only shown at night..I know it's a part of story but I really want more of their scenes🥺 I'm waiting to see how it unfolds!
Rewatched All of us are dead as my exams have been postponed.I was quite surprised not a single episode was boring.The escape scenes were perfectly shot( especially that library and gym scenes)..and I had a ugly cry >!when that guy died in gym jumping out of shield after being bitten🥺!< I had a doubt that >!namra is a hambie but why she couldn't save her friends from zombies as she is powerful and also zombies won't attack her..but she chose to keep on running with them..is this a plot hole?!< and also I noted that namra and suhyeok had less scenes(they had great chemistry than the other two) My poor heart sobbed watching Namra smiling at suhyeok and leaving like a friend at the end!!
**Chief Detective 1958 (10/10)** Finished this one and enjoyed the whole thing. It was good to see Lee Je-Hoon again and this time, in a role that's not quite as brooding and dark. Lee Dong-Hwi is an actor I'm going to look for again. He made an impression.
**Crash (7/12)** I'm enjoying this a lot. I like the action and intrigue, and the highway scenes, and I especially like Kwak Sun-Young, Oh Eui-Sik, and Heo Ji-Won. The latter may be my new favorite villain. His evil faces are VERY memorable. haha. Lee Min-Ki isn't doing anything for me, unfortunately, and I feel that Heo Sun-Tae is underutilized here. I keep hoping he'll end up with his own storyline before the end.
Cant agree more. While people fought over Choi Taek vs Jung Hwan, I was more interested to find out whether did his character find a girl in R88! HE WAS MY FAVORITE.
He is such a good actor, I just wish he does more dramas T T
of course, the big title that most people know him for is **Reply 1988**.
For more comedic roles with dumb gags and broad humor with heart: **Pegasus Market**, **Extreme Job** (film), and **The Bros** (film). For more serious, **Drama Special Season 7: The Red Teacher** with Jung So Min is a good watch.
I hesitate to recommend the drama itself because of pacing issues, but for a loveable dirtbag that steals some of the spotlight from *The* Choi Min Shik, **Big Bet**.
My Roomate is a Gumiho (16/16): Wished I never started. At least three times I wanted to drop it (ep 12, 14, and 15). The plot is so thin, it didnt need to be 16 episodes. Heck, even 8-10 episodes should have been enough. So many unnecessary plot points. So many misunderstandings because lack of communication. Sometimes they in good terms, sometimes they arent. Repeat as many times possible. And then there’s the dreaded rushed and abrupt twist at the start of the last episode, only for things to go back to normal again. C’mon KDrama writers, u guys suck at writing finales. And until the end, I just couldnt feel the chemistry between the leads. Rate 6/10, only because I did laugh a few times throughout.
Been super busy lately :( so little k-drama watching time but hopefully, this will cease next month.
Fight for my way (15/16) - I LOVE this drama! Its soo funny. Im started to care less about Dong Man and Ae Ra just cause in comparison to Sul Hee and Joo Man. I am rooting for sulhee because Jooman is surely not serious 😐.
Still 17 (9/16)- no progress currently but im still loving this drama. Its soo funny aswell!
Abyss (3/16)- also no progress and im a lil unsure of this drama. I like Ahn Hyeo Seop but im not sure if i like the premise of this drama.
Our blues (3/20)- this drama has me CONFLICTED! I really dont know if i like it or not. The amount of toes is unnecessary. That i know for a fact.
Not for nothing - if you love **Fight For My Way**, may I highly recommend another sports drama with a sweet and committed ML paired with a no nonsense and capable FL : **Like Flowers in Sand**. It also has a fab ensemble cast that makes up his small town neighborhood and sports gym.
So good, and the only drama that got me the way **FFMW** got me, loved it
Stick with Our Blues! The first storyline isn’t the strongest & it just gets better & better. It’s one of my favourite dramas, although I don’t remember the amount of toes so cant comment on that ;)
Currently watching High School Return of a Gangster!
First heard about it via the BL accounts I follow and wasn't planning on watching it since they removed the BL aspects from the original webtoon, but a friend recommended it and I realised that it stands up very well on its own as a standard kdrama. The first episode reminded me of Mr Queen (one of my fave kdramas), the comedy is done well, and the plot and writing are engaging. The relationship between the mains is cute and it's easy to see how it could've translated to actual romance. Plus seeing Yiheon initially navigate a school setting and being charmingly awkward and making friends was so cute, would highly recommend!

\*\*The Red Sleeve\*\* — Still have to post my thoughts on a "Late to the Party" post. Haven't done that yet (so no one missed anything if you were curious). I do have thoughts. Lots of them. Which is exactly why I haven't posted. Haven't had the time to really dedicate to getting it out. Maybe this weekend. For the record I liked it very much. Not my favorite drama ever, but definitely a favorite of some type, sad ending and all. It was absolutely worth the watch as the acting was phenomenal.
\*\*25 Ji, Akasaka de or At 25:00 in Akasaka\*\* — Japan BL — I liked the changes from the manga. This was a perfectly decent BL. Not my favorite, not my most hated, just very solid and decent. And very Japanese.
\*\*Secret Ingredient\*\* — Waited for this to be totally out to binge. It was cute. Only 6 episodes of about 30 minutes each and while considered a Korean drama it was mostly in English with a bit of Korean and some Tagalog. And it had two of the most beautiful leads you will ever see - throw in head chef Arif and that completes it.
\*\*The Princess Bodyguard's Love or 18-sai, Niizuma, Furin Shimasu\*\* — Japan — This is a classic super weird Japanese drama. Was it good? I dunno. Was it weird? Yes. Did I like it? I have no idea. Would I watch it again? I dunno. Would I recommend it? As long as you like weird Japanese dramas absolutely. I love weird and this fits. The first couple of episodes are super misleading and that's not at all what the drama is about.
Watching:
\*\*The Midnight Romance in Hagwon\*\* — (14/16) — Still happy with Ahn Pan Seok’s drama and how it feels! The leads are fantastic! When they argue? Chef's kiss. Excellent work. But the educational system keeps throwing me (speaking as someone who has no children and got their high school degree in the late 1990s in the USA - this style of education is 100% completely different than how I learned). It's incredibly hard to relate for that reason.
\*\*Miss Night and Day\*\* — (4/16) — Eh. I like this one so far. Not in love with it, but I do enjoy the story telling. The two female lead counterparts are doing a good job - I genuinely feel like they are two halves of the same character. So good job so far.
\*\*My Sweet Mobster\*\* — (4/16) — This is giving me Dali and the Cocky Prince vibes super hard. So much fun. And I am not familiar with this ML at all - never seen him anything. It's like this role was written for him.
\*\*100 Days My Prince\*\* — (10/16) — I have tried to watch this several times. Never could get into it past episode 2. This time I saw Netflix advertising it and went - why not. It's sticking for some reason. All the dumb tropes are there, but it's not terrible. I have absolutely seen much worse.

I keep reading about the plot twist in this drama so much that I may give it a shot just to experience it! Definitely read loads of mixed reviews so I've stayed away until now.
**Jealousy Incarnate** (aka on Netflix as **Don’t Dare to Dream**) and so far it has surprised the hell out of me. I totally pressed play for Jo Jung Suk, but am also now officially 100% hooked on SML’s character and their bromance is so amazing. And so far this could be my second fave drama of Gong Hyo Jin, behind It’s Okay That’s Love.
Buuuttttt…. It’s 24 episodes and I am super dubious it’s gonna engage me like this the whole time, but I am not gonna despair just yet, and just hope for the best.
It started so well and Go Kyung Pyo is so hot in this one. I completely lost the will to continue in the middle because the dynamics in the triangle get so messed up. I hope it will stay interesting for you.

I'm with you. The writing got so messy in the middle on every level - dialogue, character dynamics, plot - that I checked MDL to see if it was one of those dramas with two writers. It wasn't, but it sure felt that way.

Then as part of my "red flag cleanse" to purge Sun Jae from Lovely Runner, I stumbled on Playful Kiss because I love Jung So Min and it had very high ratings on Viki. Oh, man...the ML is so awful that I just couldn't do it. I've seen many toxic relationships in K-drama but this one takes the top spot. Usually the toxic ML turns into a total puppy dog after they get together and you can kind of justify watching. Here, he just keeps abusing her and she just takes it because now he loves her. Run, girl! Run as far as you can and find a good therapist to figure out why you're drawn to a guy like that...
**Atypical Family** (3/12)
* Picked this up because of my fondness for complex, atypical FLs and the Victorian gothic novel premise: rich family with secrets in decline targeted by a swindler. But some hammy over-acting and heavy exposition isn't drawing me in and from reviews I'm a bit worried this is a 'love fixed me' rather than a 'love empowered me to change' type drama, which isn't my cup of tea. Was planning to use it for KDC #28 (multi-generational cast) but I might put it on hold to explore other options.
**Heard it Through the Grapevine** (12/30)
* Unique and well realised, though not exactly enjoyable. It won a Best Drama Baeksang for its high society satire and parody of the makjang family drama: rich teen ML brings home pregnant poor teen FL and it touches off an in-law cold class war. But the comedic portrayal of serious abuse is a major negative as is the constant escalation/de-escalation of melodrama. The second half also had a lower budget and production company swap so I'm bracing myself for the quality drop.
**The Midnight Romance in Hagwon** (14/16)
* All of Ahn Pan Seok's dramas have similar themes and motifs but elsewhere they're better executed. This is a simple, sentimental view of complex educational issues delivered with enough pretension to be preachy, plus a bit of forbidden first love melo romance. The production is also rough around the edges; it was bumped up in the roster to replace **Resident Playbook** and would have benefited from more time in the editing room. Not a refund, but not something I'd recommend either.
**Miss Night and Day** (4/12)
* Rare is the mixed-genre murder romcom done right and this has some promising elements. The comedy is a bit much but the theme of how marginalized seniors are in Korean society (plus foreshadowing >!that the killer is elderly or disabled!<) is enough to keep the interest going, as is SML falling for the ahjumma edition of FL. But like many recent Kdramas it has a PD/writer team who can't seem to remember what match cuts are; the jerky narrative/cinematic transitions are jarring.
**Tora ni Tsubasa** (60/130)
* Favorite drama of the year so far for its humanistic view of women's lives and societal issues during the pre/post war Showa era; plus Sairi Ito acting her heart out as someone torn between ambition, idealism and tradition. Based on the life of Yoshiko Mibuchi (one of the first women lawyers/judges in Japan) and cameos other historical figures and events that helped reform Japan's legal system and constitution. Don't let the high episode count scare you off; asadoras are only ~15min long.
Patiently waiting for my beloved JCW’s upcoming works, so I’ve been in and out of watching kdramas. I finally finished Queen of Tears last week and have now fallen down the Kim Soo Hyun rabbit hole. Currently watching It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (6/16) and I’m enjoying it! Cinematography for this drama is absolutely stunning. The leads are of course gorgeous. Looking forward to going down his filmography 🙂↕️

**Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale (8/10):** It’s a fun watch but I can barely remember what happened a few days after watching 😂 I can’t believe the >!leads haven’t confessed yet though!!!< We only have 2 episodes left 😭
**Midnight Romance at Hagwon (14/16):** Almost at the finish line even though it doesn’t feel like it. The Hagwon drama has finally reached its peak but I have no idea how things will wrap up as there is no clear cut plan at the moment. They got about 2 and a half hours to wrap up though so we’ll see ig. Not a fan of the drama but by the time I had that thought I felt like I already watched too much so here I am 😀
And that’s all!! By the time July 1st rolls around, I want to be finished all of these dramas + be on episode 45 of East of Eden (a little far fetched but I can hope lol)

**It's Okay to Not Be Okay** 15/16. "Binging through it like my life depends on it" would be more accurate than "watching"! I rarely ever felt this moved by a drama before and shed some tears. The leads are both breathtaking and made me swoon so hard. >!EP.15's ENDING. KSH'S GAZE AS HE SLOWLY LEANED IN TO KISS HER WAS SO INTENSE IT PIERCED TROUGH MY SCREEN AND BURNED ME DOWN!<. Oh Jungse's performance is incredible too. I can't wait to see the ending and if they'll resolve the remaining gray areas around >!Moonyeong's mom!< but if they don't, I'll be happy regardless.
- Our beloved summer (8/16): I’m not sure if I’m going to complete it. It’s very boooooring. I really love slice of life dramas but this show is really turning me off. The two leads are very annoying and I see no chemistry between them. The female lead is very rude and obnoxious and seems like she is with the ML because she doesn’t have any other or better options. I feel no romance in the show and nothing is funny about a show that is labeled as romcom.
- (Not Kdrama) House of the dragon s2 (1/??): a prequel no one asked for, of a show thta had the worst ending ever. And the first episodes of s1 were good with young Rhaenyra but when adult Rhaenyra was introduced the show lost its charm for me. I started episode one of season 2 and I was like meh I’m not interested. the story is not interesting for me and of course so much unnecessary sex scenes and I didn’t even finish the episode.
So yeah I’m currently watching 2 shows that I have zero interest to complete 😅
If you don’t like OBS by now I would drop it!! I loved it but I get the people who don’t. I’m watching 1 drama that I lowkey should’ve dropped earlier so I feel your pain 😩
Agree with you on **Our Beloved Summer**! Overhyped. Boring. Lacked chemistry. I am a sucker for second-chance romances and enjoy enemies-to-lovers/lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers tropes, but ehh.

The first episode wasn't too bad, and I was hopeful-- but emoting is endless. Please, break up already. Just don't understand the series' popularity, especially making many "top ten personal best" drama lists. Oh, well, different tastes and all....
**The Good Bad Mother** (14/14): Someone last week shared that they were watching this, which reminded me that it’s been on my watchlist for a year. First drama I’ve seen of Lee Do-hyun after seeing him in Exhuma, and I completely understand the hype behind him. The range that he has! Ahn Eun-jin as always plays her role so naturally and endearingly, and Ra Mi-ran made me cry like every episode. I read episode reviews on this subreddit, and I think most of us got to the conclusion that while some things the mom did was borderline abusive, she was also doing her best to raise her child (or re-raise him) and was also growing through her own lessons. If you’re looking for a funny, heartfelt, emotional kdrama - look no further.
**Miss Night and Day** (4/16): This one is frickin hilarious! Definitely gives me Behind Your Touch vibes where you can’t believe this is the premise the writers have setup, but you just roll with it. Both Eunji and Lee Jung-eun are a hoot in their character, and I trust that they’ll carry her through well. I’m really looking forward to the weekend now for the new episodes!

**My Demon:** Okay, honestly I got up to ep 10/11 and then realised I really don't care about the plot and how they're inevitably going to escape death etc. By this episode the Demon had already >!gotten his tattoo back so can't he just destroy the baddies, like do we really need another 4+ episodes of fake life and death stakes?? How is a human somehow a formidable enough villain vs a demon...!< Anyways, the ending was ok/decent but I just never felt that invested in this couple except finding them immensely good looking in the first 4 episodes.
**Brain works:** This was surprisingly fun and comforting because I like Cha Tae Hyun as an actor and he brings so much warmth to his characters. I just really believe his characters are aa good as they are supposed to be. Yonghwa is serviceable and their partnership is fun but I preferred him in Sell Your Haunted House. But overall, an easy watch.
**Connection:** I like it more the more I watch it. I have yet to watch ep 10 but I am still curious about everything now
**My Sweet Mobster:** Not for me as much as I like UTG and he's so good looking
**Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale:** I kinda get the satirical (?) vibe but also not quite sold on it after the first ep. Might wait til it's done.
Been watching Miss Night and Day, and I have to say, it's rare to find a genuinely funny show but this one has so far had some absolute LOL moments and a big part of that is the FL's performance and the situational humor. The FL's mom's bright red lipstick even at night in her home is a petty personal pet peeve of mine but I'm loving everything else about the show so far haha xD (especially Choi Jin Hyuk ;p)
My Sweet Mobster(light hearted drama with an ML whose voice gets you on your knees) and Miss Night and Day(some murder plot- wished it had less but I guess it gives a strong issue in the drama and the coolest, cutest and funny dancing queen of a shapeshifting ahjumma with a good sprinkle of humour). Watching ongoing dramas breaks my heart after every episode but watching them weekly definitely is a pick me up. Now I have something to look forward to every week. My Wednesdays, Thursdays and weekends are a little brighter now!
I love summer activities (okay, mostly all the fresh fruit and vegetables and all the work they entail), but on the other hand I regret that summer has to be so busy! I'm moving at a snail's pace with these dramas, and I don't dare to try to watch too late in the evening because I've developed this annoying tendency to fall asleep if I sit still for more than 20 minutes.
**Moving** (4/20): The story is cute, so far, but I'm looking forward to more adult-focused stuff. All the violence coupled with the high school stuff is pretty jarring. I enjoy Go Youn Jung. She does guarded-yet-honest very well. I think it's because you can tell when she's considering things, but she has such a poker face. Maybe it's a lack of micro-expressions? I don't know if that's good or bad. Regardless, she makes it work! I'm going to add some of her other work to my PtW list.
**Midnight Romance in Hagwon** (3/16): I haven't watched much in the last week, because I can't guarantee I'll stay awake (see above). I may have to postpone this one until the fall, at this rate!

Oh no, falling asleep on the couch! I’ve been going to bed at 9 lately, so I relate. And for summer fruits, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries are going to be coming into season soon and they shouldn’t requiring much prep beyond washing. And then there’s also strawberry cake to be made. I realize this is very off topic from dramas! Anyway, I hope your summer slows down and barring that, dramas will always be there when the weather gets cold.
Marry My Husband (16/16) This was a fun drama if not a great one. Very little made sense and they didn’t really try to make it make sense. For example, the footage from the dash cam of Ms Yang’s >!husband cheating suddenly getting restored made no sense whatsoever.!< Also, isn’t it really hard to break >!zip ties?!< The main romance really fell flat to the point that I was very bored during the last 30-40 minutes or so of the drama which was just >!fluffy and happy married life.!< Normally I love that but they were just such an underdeveloped couple that I couldn’t care less. One more point that really bugged me/made me laugh was Yu Ji-Hyuk’s reaction to his cat knocking over a bottle of red wine on his light colored carpet. Even if he was lost in thought, that would have snapped him to attention, but instead he just had the same blank expression he always had on his face.
I’ve said a lot of negative things but honestly, it was a fun if sort of bad drama to watch. My husband compared the watching experience to watching Heirs: the world of these characters makes no sense and you just have to go with it. However, I think Heirs has a lot of more fun details and characters. It was worth it to watch MMH for the cheaters alone, who were a lot of fun. The scene where Su-min >!kills Park Min Hwan!< was a great culmination of their storyline.
My Sweet Mobster (4/16): I like this one a lot so far. The found family in the Thirsty Deer is developing nicely and I’m loving our two main actors together. I found some of the internet controversies annoying but hopefully we are past those and they’ve served their purpose for the plot. I always struggle to keep up with airing dramas, so hopefully I can keep up this time!
Bride in Sneakers: I also watched this drama special when I surprisingly had an hour to myself yesterday and no episodes of My Sweet Mobster to watch, so I remembered this from my list. I love these type of Roman Holiday-esque movies/scenes where a romantic pairing stays out all night together roaming a city. There was sort of a scene like this in an episode of My Lovely Sam Soon and I loved that! A nice way to spend an hour. And surprisingly the same actor who plays Park Min Hwan in MMH played a dirtbag in this one as well!
I really, really liked Marry My Husband, so much so that I’ve already rewatched it. I thought the main couple had really great chemistry! Even though you knew from the very first episode how it was going to end, I found there were a lot of surprising twists and I really enjoyed the ride.
I think Park Min Young typically does have good chemistry with her co-star when the male actor is a good. For example, I thought her pairings in What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, Her Private Life, and Healer all had great chemistry but I didn't think she had good chemistry with her co-stars in Love in Contract, Forecasting Love and Weather and MMH, obviously. I've seen Na In Woo in a few dramas now and I just don't click with his acting. But chemistry is a super subjective thing and we all look for different things when it comes down to good chemistry!
MMH had a similar, if less serious, feel to Reborn Rich and Little Women, though I strongly preferred both of those dramas.

I thought she had really good chemistry with Go Kyung Pyo in Love in Contract, and that was the only thing that made that drama watchable. Every single character on that show was super effed up, it was insane!
I was watching Frankly Speaking so of course I’m rewatching Jealousy Incarnate for the 3rd time. 2016 was a great year for Kdramas imho.
It’s really something else. I love the chemistry of the leads (best tension/makeout sesh Jo Jung Suk/ Le Hwa Shin and Gong Hyo Jin/Pyo Na Ri). Also Go Kyung Pyo was such a sharp looking cutie and my asian mom side totally had SLS for him.
Re-watched Signal and finally got around to watching Witch at Court! I'm looking for more mystery/thriller type that involve law I lean so much towards *plot thickens* type shows lol
I love both dramas to bits! Witch at Court is pretty underrated tho. I don't get why cause the cases and of course the main story are really good. It was interesting how they handled the sexual assault case in which the victim was male and the perpetrator was female.
Im 13/20 for Vincenzo and have been really savouring this show. Usually, I binge most shows but this one have been taking it slowly. The humour was unexpected and really enjoyable. A few bits like the >!gold plot!< are dragging a little but still keen to see how it all ends up.
Hate to admit - on my third watch - just 'cause. Like how some of the characters go 'up to the edge' of too much but pull it back just in time. A great troupe of characters.
I love how the plaza group all come together and the capers they get into 🤣 I love how it can go from such stupid humour like the amazing PowerPoint presentations to guns so quickly. It's satisfying to watch!

**My Sweet Mobster:** I wasn't planning on watching this one but I saw people excited about it on Twitter and I'm so glad I jumped in. Uhm Tae Goo is killing it as someone scary on the outside, complete cinnamon roll on the inside and I'm also loving the Snow White and the Seven Dwarves vibe.
**My Second Aoharu (Japan)**: This is an age gap romance between a 33 year old woman who's gone back to school to become an architect and her 10 years younger classmate who's a prodigy. As someone who went back to school in her 30s i'm finding the female lead very relatable and the drama leans hard on found family which is a favorite trope of mine.
**Meet Yourself (China):** A workaholic career woman quits her job after a personal loss and moves to a homeshare in the countryside to recuperate. She meets a local man who quit a high paying job to return to his village and launch a tourism business. This is not super grabbing me yet but I love the ML after seeing him in Will Love in Spring so I'm persisting for now.
**Wandee Goodday (Thailand):** BL about a friends with benefits relationship between a boxer and a surgeon. Things get complicated when they inevitably catch feelings for each other. This drama is almost plotless but it's funny and sex positive so a good turn-off-your-brain watch.
**Lovely Runner (10/16):** ngl, I am struggling to push through this one. I think its because I'm not feeling the ML being a tsundere, and I am more interested in the time travel. Also, I feel like they are revealing things too fast? Like so fast that if they took out the >!brief flashback of an accident when the future FL was away and the stabbing of the ML!< in the last couple episodes that I watched, the drama could of ended there. I am going to stick with this one all the way to end because I could be not seeing the whole picture!
**My Sweet Mobster (5/16):** This one is unexpected for me. The first couple episodes didn't click with me but I stuck with it and now I cant stop smiling at these dorks! I love how the ML doesn't feel like a typical ML and I like the FL loves working with kids! I am not the best at watching shows as it airs (I am a binge watcher) but I am going to give this one a try!
**Frankly Speaking** 11/12. I’ve not really heard this one mentioned a lot on this sub but overall I’ve enjoyed it. Nothing spectacular but fairly light and an easy watch. Was a good palette cleanser after Queen of Tears.
Honorable mention to **Frankly Speaking** for being the only 2024 Kdrama I've seen that uses match cuts well. Episode 4 'The Switch' where scenes change through flickering lights, electronics being turned off/on and ends with a big, thematic blackout as a metaphor for ML's ability was an absolute delight from a cinematic and storytelling standpoint.
Tomorrow (10/16): this show is soooo good. I’m currently watching purposefully slowly because is so good I just don’t want it to end. People just don’t talk enough about how good this show is.
Alchemy of Souls. (12/20): I just don’t like this show, like I don’t understand the hype, I don’t understand why everyone loves it so much. The storyline is super predictable, I know what’s gonna happen before it happens 90% of the time. I like the second lead so much more than the main lead. I haven’t give up on it yet though.
Sound of Magic (3/6): this is the best 3 episodes of a Drama that I have seen so far. It’s fast paced due to lack of episodes, and so far a very good adaptation of the source material. Worth the watch.
You guys I saw fan edits of The Double (a bloodied Duke So in war to be specific) and I binged 26 episodes…. I was promised many slow burn things by these fan edits….. romance is prob 2% of the plot 😵💫😵💫 will be switching to Will Love in Spring c-drama while keeping up with Midnight Romance in Hagwon (WHY IS THE FINALE THIS WEEKEND ?!) I'm still on episode 1 of Midnight Romance in Hagwon. It's alright so far, I just started it today before going into work.
I watched My Unicorn Girl because Darren Chen was in it, and I loved him in Meteor Garden. It reminded me of She's the Man. It was just as bad. I don't suggest it to anyone, but I actually finished it, so that's more than I can say about other dramas.
I finished up My Roommate is a Gumiho, and I just love the ML and 2nd ML. Bae In Hyuk was great, now I'm looking stuff up to watch with him in it.
Rewatching Something in The Rain on Viki instead of Netflix because I want to see it with the timed comments. 😁
Finished up A Piece of You, and I have many thoughts. Not all of them good, but I really enjoyed watching Jung Hae I, as usual.
I’m watching Personal Taste, from 2010 with Lee Min Ho and Son Yi Jin. It’s somehow like two separate shows smushed together. A sweet funny romance featuring the leads, their two friends, and the museum director, and a garishly-lit makjang featuring the second couple, the parents, and everyone else. The shifts in tone can be jarring, but I’m overall enjoying it.
I also want to know: how does Lee Min Ho’s character get away with never responding to a question?! He just stares thoughtfully or angrily or sullenly into the middle distance, and no one ever presses him to answer. I want that super-power.
Happiness 2/12: after the first episode, I got curious with how they are going to develop each character since the premise of the show is about >!zombies!<. The 2nd episode seems to answer those questions.
A little comedy and romance >!with a big dollop of zombie!< might be a good replacement after finishing Marry my husband last week.
I tried watching Perfect Marriage Revenge but I started getting frustrated with the characters.

I'm really only watching 3 things:
Snow White's Revenge/Scandal (8/101) - a daily drama with a villain FL. Idk what k-drama fans have against villain FLs, they're in denial about Moon Jung-In being the FL. There are books with villain MCs! Also, honest opinion... Han Bo-Reum has the same facial expression most of the time... which is annoying. Pretty sure it's because of the writing, but still. Emote a bit more. I do like the directing though, it doesn't feel like a typical daily (which is low-budget.)
Temptation of an Angel (19/21) - I'm almost done with this one. Another drama with a villain FL, I really like it so far. All the characters are morally grey. I still hate Yoon Jae-Hee, and I don't like Hong Soo-Hyun's acting. After I finish this drama I'm watching Five Fingers.
Death Note (season 1) - an anime. This is a rewatch but I just need inspiration for writing, so I'm mostly watching it for that reason. It's genuinely good though.
With the Olympics coming up, I recommend a Korean movie **Road to Boston** on Viki that really touched my heart - about an inspiring story of Korean athletes trying to make it to the Olympics - "When a Korean won the marathon Gold Medal in the 1936 Olympics, he was forced to wear the Japanese uniform. "Road to Boston" tells the incredible true story of what followed in the aftermath of this sad event."
It is also nice to see a movie that can tell a whole story in about 2 hours, as a compelling story from start to finish happens in that timeframe. I look for dramas that can tell a story efficiently - for example the last 2 episodes should be plenty of time to pack a lot of action and feelings and wrap things up properly.

Stranger (10/16), I'm really liking this drama and can't wait to see how it ends. I will say it's taking me longer to finish than I thought it would, because all the episodes are over an hour long and the plot requires you to really concentrate on what's happening the entire time and I sometimes struggle with that. But I'm slowly moving forward and enjoying it <3
The Glory part 1 (6/8), to be honest I was expecting way more from this drama given how obsessed with it everyone seems to be. It's not necessarily bad but I did get bored with the first few eps so I started watching on a higher speed to at least finish the first season. So far I've pushed through 6 eps but I still feel like nothing is really happening and it makes me sad because I was fully prepared to be addicted to it 😭 unsure if I should stick with it and watch the 2nd season since I've heard that's where the revenge finally happens or if I should finish the 1st and call it a day.
My Boss (32/36) a cute chinese drama that I started watching while going through a very hard time and it has helped me a lot. Not only has it kept my attention the whole time but it made me smile everytime I felt bad. It means so much to me and I like pretty much everything about it. 🥰
Also rewatching Bridgerton s2 so I can finally watch s3.
I am watching strong woman bong soon for the umpteenth time. This time with my ten year old daughter who's watching it for the first time and enjoying it immensely!

I have a like dislike relationship with this show. Idky. I can find great things about it and things that i can't seem to get past. Maybe its the makjang lover in me that needs like gut wrenching tragedy. Idk. Cast is great.
I am watching 'Player 2 Master of Swindlers' and 'Bitter Sweet Hell'. Player 2 is fun but kind of lacks a bit of the group charm of the first series. Bitter Sweet Hell (so far) has been a lot of fun. I've only seen a couple of 막장 dramas before but I am starting to understand the appeal. 😆 Part of the fun comes from the bizarre English title. I kind of chuckle because the original Korean title directly translates to the much more sweet sounding 'Our Home.' Like, who decided on the radically different translation and why?!?!? haha
I'm watching **The Tale of Nokdu (12/32)** and really, I'm getting so frustrated because of the political scheming I don't seem to understand. 12 episodes in and I still don't know who's connected to whom in that political mess. It's littered with random flashbacks and really, why do half of the political scenes have to be in the dark - I just can't seem to recognise anyone. Is it just me?
I enjoy the romance between the leads, but I started skipping all political scenes and that doesn't leave much to watch 😅 I'll probably drop this one.
Glad you asked. Yikes - Watched J**oko Anwar's Nightmares and Daydreams** - Indonesia. Oh my gosh! Only 7 episodes. Each one based on a different character. Each one seems more 'odd' than the one before - for lack of a better term. Not sure Joko had any daydreams - or they were all more like nightmares.
If you watched **Everything Everywhere All At Once**, you might be prepared. Maybe.
If you just want to experience something really different and at times difficult - give it a try. Might want to have a 'call a friend' number handy.
Then I watched the music video **Popcorn** by Doh Kyung-soo and felt better. Whew! Nice summer tune.
I finished watching **Money Flower** this week and wow, what a great drama and superb cast. Jang Hyuk was excellent and the rest of the cast, particularly Lee Mi-suk and Jang Seong-jo were great as well.
I'm participating in a group watch of **The K-2..**no complaints about Ji Chang Wook in fighting form ;-) And as a change of pace from these two, I started **Touch Your Heart**.

**D.P.** Damn this was depressing. A gripping Show, but so so depressing. I know there's bullying going on in many areas in Korea, but I hope the men serving in the military aren't bullied to **that** extent. Horrifying. Anyways, I need a 3. Season. Need to see a change happening..
**The 8 Show** was an okay watch but I felt like there was depth missing with the characters while it focused more on the violence. I watched for Ryu Jun-Yeol and he delivered. Here I don't need another Season and wouldn’t watch it.
**An Incurable Case of Love** Usually I like Stories with a cold ML, but this one did nothing for me. Also I wondered how the FL got to work as a nurse (in training?), when she didn’t even could draw blood. The Age Gaps where a little too much for my taste, since it wasn't only the Leads. But I loved the SML. He was a sweetheart, worth it for him.
**The King of Pigs** One of the Shows I enjoyed from start to finish. Another one with heavy bullying and violence. I haven’t seen that Plottwist coming, it was a nice surprise. The teenage actors were incredible.

FL really needed that wake-up call that she is a secretary and not a servant for her boss. >!How do you want to answer your phone when you're having a Sung Hoon above you, ready to devour you?! Girl should have tossed that phone. No wonder he dumped her. lol!< But I guess the ML teaches her a little selfrespect and she teaches him compassion. The SML reminds me of a Character from another Drama I've watched, it's like a Deja-vu. I like him.
1. Uncle Samsik 10/16: Song Kang Ho pulling out all the stops for this drama. superb acting, good writing with good pace. Excellent drama so far
2. Insider 16/16: Don't know why this drama didn't do well. Much better than big mouth. 1st time seeing Kang Haneul in a role like this and he killed it.
3. Player 2 Master of Swindlers 8/16: Binged the first season and loved it. Enjoying second season as well. Just a good clean action drama
4. Blind (2022) 10/16: Took a stab at this one because Jung Eun Ji was in it, but so far writing is kind of all over the place. It seems like the writers wanted to keep the viewers guessing but throwing out bait every episode gets tiring. Might drop this one.

Life - I used to give this one a pass, but then I fell for Lee Dong-wook and decided to give it a try and loved it. Well-written characters, great acting and cast, a plot that kept me interested. I'm not usually drawn to hospital shows, but this one was different, with more of a workplace + mystery feel to it. Well worth the time investment.
Currently watching My Liberation Notes and I honestly didn’t expect to like this drama but I’m in LOVE with it now. I’m so invested in every character and the main couple’s relationship is probably my favourite of all kdramas. Ahhh can’t wait to keep watching.
Ju finished 25-21 for the second time. I thought I would be fine since it’s been over two years. Initially, I didn’t think it was hitting hard like the first time so I won’t cry like the first viewing. Man, I was wrong. I sobbed probably almost as hard as the first watch. My husband came into the room with about 15 minutes left of the finale. I could hardly talk, my voice was still quivering. I still think it’s beautiful and haunting at the same time. I also so wish they would do a mini-series of maybe 3 episodes of the current day, but only the original young actors.
Still entranced by Thank You (finally the title is explained around episode 11!). The AIDS talk is still frustrating (why does FL think the AIDS is her fault?) but teared up at SML’s mom’s growth. SML is still sleazy despite his love for FL and daughter. It’s so weird!
Since Im done with the new ones (QOT/Atypical Family/Lovely Runner) I was able to take a glimpse of My Lovely Liar thru fb reels....The whole series would make you guess what happens next as your guesses would be able to make it already on the earlier episodes

Just finished episode 8 of **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon** and the romance is *sooooooooo* cute…Up til episode 6, it was more workplace drama, very slow build of the romance but wow the payoff so far has been so worth it! Oh gosh - watching Hye Jin be so playful after being so proper and restrained for so long was just a joy! And when Jun Ho tells >!her his patience is used up and to not back away any longer- whew! 🥵!< I love them together and I know something is going to get in their way but as long as they’re together in the end, I will happily root for them!

I'm watching that as well. I think it's currently the best ongoing drama, easily one of the best of this year. The script is brillant and the acting is excellent. I wish more people watch. And the cherry on top is that there is no unnecessary romance.
**Miss Night and Day** (3/16): I’m so glad I gave this drama a chance after not initially being all that interested in it. Lee Jung-eun is a riot in a rare comedic role, and I’m quickly falling under the spell of actress Eunji. She has a lovely screen presence and is very likable. The drama is doing a nice job of balancing the main storyline with the crime subplot. The only time I have an issue with these subplots is when they feel tacked on like an afterthought, whereas in this drama, it feels like the filmmakers have planned out this subplot meticulously, and know exactly what they’re doing with it. **The Devil Judge** (16/16): For a drama containing so many strong elements, the whole was ultimately less than the sum of its parts. More than anything, I wish the drama had stayed with the basic premise of live televised trials decided by the public, for longer. Towards the end, the twists and turns became increasingly convoluted, which diminished the drama’s impact. Performance-wise, the standouts were Ji Sung (of course) and young Jeon Chae-eun, who played his niece, Elijah. The [instrumental version of “Tempest”](https://youtu.be/8eb2b947U4w?si=HQQLAsCiEf-YnDvF) by Huckleberryfinn will live forever on my list of favorite OSTs.
I have to agree with you for The Devil Judge, sometimes episodic parts can be really good and shouldn't always have to give way to some bigger, convoluted conspiracy.
**Flex X Cop** (9/16) Binged half of the show over the rainy weekend and didn't expect to like it so much. It's one of those body cop action-comedies that don't go for realism, but are very entertaining to watch. It helps that the cases are really good and I had a lot of fun trying to solve them. I also find that the show did a great job with the ML. While he is portrayed as an irresponsible man child, he never strikes me as annoying (like this type of characters often do) and I feel genuine empathy toward him. **Joy of Life S2** (10/36) (c-drama). The ML is very likeable and when the comedy pops in, it is usually done well. However, I am still trying to grasp the court intrigue mostly because I have forgotten parts from the first season and it's 46 episodes, so way too long to rewatch. That is why I don't watch multi-season shows 😑. That being said, I am still enjoying it. I will finish it, even if it will probably take me forever like the first season.

**Uncle Samsik** (completed) - I don't give 10/10s on first watch, but this came in at like 9.5. maybe 9.75. And if not for hulu's TERRIBLE interface, I would immediately rewatch this. One of the better examples of ripped from the history books fiction that I've seen in awhile. I imagine this is much more impactful to Koreans than to international audiences - partially because of the specific generational trauma but also partially because it required quite a bit of *narrative* literacy. There was a surprising lack of hand holding about the timeline and historical context. We're in the time period leading up to and immediately following the 1960 Presidential election. The show assumes that you've studied Korean history and that you will understand the setting immediately upon seeing the dates and will get all the references to real life people and events. So not only were there a LOT of storylines and people and factions flying at the audience, most of the background of who everybody was, why they were important, and why they were at odds with each other was never really explained. Also, the fact that the main characters are designed to be the type of people in the footnotes and in the margins of history kind of doom this to a somewhat tragic and unsatisfying ending. Sure they're the protagonists of their story (ie this drama) but not the ones who are remembered or the ones that get the hero's ending. No their stories just kind of peter out. I've said it before but if you watched the film Kingmaker, it's a similar set up. **My Sweet Mobster** (4/16) for the cute (and Uhm Tae Goo). **Dare to Love Me** (14/16) mostly for Lee Yoo Young and also for the cute - ignoring the not-very-thrilling investigation and routine family issues. And then **The Whirlwind** when it drops. Ugh I can never get enough of corrupt scheming ahjusshi dramas!! Streamers, greenlight more!
**Crash** (10/12) Decent action/police procedural. Lee Min Ki *just* smiled for the first time last ep, lol. **My Sweet Mobster** (1/16) Started this mainly for Um Tae Goo (I loved **Night in Paradise**) and thought Han Sun Hwa was hilarious in **Work Later, Drink Now**. First ep was cute! **The Interest of Love** (3/16) I remember lots of complaints about this when it aired, but I love a complicated workplace romance. I'm starting to become a little annoyed with both leads, we'll see what happens. **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon** (14/16) So good! Lovely romance, edge-of-your-seat workplace drama, warm slice of life feels. Pretty sure this is going to end up my favorite Ahn Pan Seok (and I really liked both SITR and OSN), maybe fave drama of the year so far.

Same here! Chang Hee is my absolute favorite. Best lines, best funny moments, and hands down the best resolution. The moment when >!he was running away from Mr. Gu after the car incident!< had my crying with laughter. He certainly does serious well. I think that might be why I cherish his smiles so much.

I'm not big on workplace dramas, but I'd have to say I've gotten into that aspect of TMRIH a lot more than I thought I would. I do still prefer the romance aspect and hope the final two episodes are much more about that (I think the last couple episodes have had very, very little), but I find they have made the work stuff pretty interesting so far. >Pretty sure this is going to end up my favorite Ahn Pan Seok (and I really liked both SITR and OSN), maybe fave drama of the year so far. I'm with you on every aspect of that sentence. No new finished dramas, next week back to the binges as the schedule dries up a bit. In progress * **Midnight Romance in Hagwon (14/16):** it just never made it for me, from start to finish. Too slow, academy setting turned out to be much more boring than I thought and leads alone can't carry all that weight. Disappointing, maybe I had too many expectations; * **Dare to Love Me (14/16):** a lot of nothing, writing is indulging in the filler while waiting for the finale. Has some fun moments though nothing really stands out; * **My Sweet Mobster (4/16):** a well done, by the book rom-com so far, one that is elevated by quirky leads and hilarious situations aplenty, really fun but also able to be serious and even introspective sometimes, thumbs up; * **Dreaming of a F'ing Fairytale (8/10):** zero seriousness, tropes for days, chaotic leads, quick pacing, just the perfect palate cleanser, entertainment without pretenses. PYJ is wonderful as usual, that helps too. So for some reason Nam Gyu Ri is actually the FL in **My Military Valentine,** whose plot sounds like a notorious drama already, and I'll have to see where it gets. That, recovering **Atypical Family** and maybe a rewatch or two when things subside, no time to rest.
**Dare to Love Me** could have gone so many interesting places with the idea of a South Korean verison of an Amish community (historic vs modern social hierarchy! historic vs modern cultural arts! historic vs modern comedy of manners!) and it dropped the ball on all of them. I can't believe it was greenlit for 16 episodes, it's at best a 12 episode show.
So much potential, such poor execution. And the worst styling I've probably seen this year.

FortPeat continue to kill it with their chemistry 🥵 **(Thai BL) Wandee Goodday** 8/12 - It's about time these fools let each other see how whipped they both are 🤦🏻♀️ **Blue Boys** (6/8) - It never fails to amaze me how the makers have created such a beautiful romance on a shoestring budget 🥰 **Completed:-** **High School Return of a Gangster** - This was a fulfilling watch. I felt like I was going mad with the insane hype Lovely Runner was getting. Each to their own but it is a very poorly and lazily written show. I really couldn't get into it at all.
I got my husband to watch Lovely Runner with me because he enjoyed CLOY so much (my 3rd rewatch), and LR had such high ratings. Neither of us understood the hype. Next time I'll wait a year to see if the ratings normalize before deciding whether to subject him to a show like that!
You'll have to skip watch a bit.. I binged it to catch up and definitely didn't find the college era as wonderful. Felt like there was too much filler and not much story going on. Skip through lots of the fun/friend scenes in the beach village. Same with the final timeline around ep 13. Just fillers. The story is super cute and I loved the overarching romance but the show could've easily been 8 to 12 episodes especially since they never bothered to explore the time travel aspect or explain anything properly.
**# Doctor Romantic S2:** It's been so long since I last watched a medical drama, and I loved S1. Though I miss Dr. Kang Dong Joo (played by Yoo Yeon Seok), Dr. Seo Woo Jin (Ahn Hyo Seop) was certainly a great upgrade to the drama. **# The Midnight Romance in Hagwon:** On hold right now, after ep 10. I'm not sure if I love it or not. But it's most certainly very...warm and healing to watch. I will pick it up after the finale airs. **# I Promised You the Moon (Thai BL):** The prequel of this drama was an absolute gem! The drama portrayed the real-life struggles and pain of the boys. I'm only just finished ep 1 but I am absolutely in love with PP Krit, who did his role amazingly well. Oh and I just finished **Kieta Hatsukoi** a few hours back, but that was a rewatch.
My sweet mobster - I beg you all to not to judge this show with the first 2 episodes..I was not sure till 2nd episode but my sister insisted me to watch it..She was not wrong..3rd episode was so nice😻.A former mobster running a food company with ex cons falling in love with a kids content creator..This is a unique storyline..right?! The ratings are low because some people judged it by the cutesy pink poster?!! Its light hearted,sweet and silly and I'm all in for it!! Miss night and day - I'm loving this drama..it started slow but I'm happy I continued it 😄 Lee jun eun's acting is so fun to watch. The murder subplot makes it more interesting but I'm a bit unhappy that FL is only shown at night..I know it's a part of story but I really want more of their scenes🥺 I'm waiting to see how it unfolds! Rewatched All of us are dead as my exams have been postponed.I was quite surprised not a single episode was boring.The escape scenes were perfectly shot( especially that library and gym scenes)..and I had a ugly cry >!when that guy died in gym jumping out of shield after being bitten🥺!< I had a doubt that >!namra is a hambie but why she couldn't save her friends from zombies as she is powerful and also zombies won't attack her..but she chose to keep on running with them..is this a plot hole?!< and also I noted that namra and suhyeok had less scenes(they had great chemistry than the other two) My poor heart sobbed watching Namra smiling at suhyeok and leaving like a friend at the end!!
**Chief Detective 1958 (10/10)** Finished this one and enjoyed the whole thing. It was good to see Lee Je-Hoon again and this time, in a role that's not quite as brooding and dark. Lee Dong-Hwi is an actor I'm going to look for again. He made an impression. **Crash (7/12)** I'm enjoying this a lot. I like the action and intrigue, and the highway scenes, and I especially like Kwak Sun-Young, Oh Eui-Sik, and Heo Ji-Won. The latter may be my new favorite villain. His evil faces are VERY memorable. haha. Lee Min-Ki isn't doing anything for me, unfortunately, and I feel that Heo Sun-Tae is underutilized here. I keep hoping he'll end up with his own storyline before the end.

of course, the big title that most people know him for is **Reply 1988**. For more comedic roles with dumb gags and broad humor with heart: **Pegasus Market**, **Extreme Job** (film), and **The Bros** (film). For more serious, **Drama Special Season 7: The Red Teacher** with Jung So Min is a good watch. I hesitate to recommend the drama itself because of pacing issues, but for a loveable dirtbag that steals some of the spotlight from *The* Choi Min Shik, **Big Bet**.

My Roomate is a Gumiho (16/16): Wished I never started. At least three times I wanted to drop it (ep 12, 14, and 15). The plot is so thin, it didnt need to be 16 episodes. Heck, even 8-10 episodes should have been enough. So many unnecessary plot points. So many misunderstandings because lack of communication. Sometimes they in good terms, sometimes they arent. Repeat as many times possible. And then there’s the dreaded rushed and abrupt twist at the start of the last episode, only for things to go back to normal again. C’mon KDrama writers, u guys suck at writing finales. And until the end, I just couldnt feel the chemistry between the leads. Rate 6/10, only because I did laugh a few times throughout.
I watched Hierarchy on Netflix. Probably the biggest waste of time ever lol. It was awful.

Been super busy lately :( so little k-drama watching time but hopefully, this will cease next month. Fight for my way (15/16) - I LOVE this drama! Its soo funny. Im started to care less about Dong Man and Ae Ra just cause in comparison to Sul Hee and Joo Man. I am rooting for sulhee because Jooman is surely not serious 😐. Still 17 (9/16)- no progress currently but im still loving this drama. Its soo funny aswell! Abyss (3/16)- also no progress and im a lil unsure of this drama. I like Ahn Hyeo Seop but im not sure if i like the premise of this drama. Our blues (3/20)- this drama has me CONFLICTED! I really dont know if i like it or not. The amount of toes is unnecessary. That i know for a fact.
Not for nothing - if you love **Fight For My Way**, may I highly recommend another sports drama with a sweet and committed ML paired with a no nonsense and capable FL : **Like Flowers in Sand**. It also has a fab ensemble cast that makes up his small town neighborhood and sports gym. So good, and the only drama that got me the way **FFMW** got me, loved it

Currently watching High School Return of a Gangster! First heard about it via the BL accounts I follow and wasn't planning on watching it since they removed the BL aspects from the original webtoon, but a friend recommended it and I realised that it stands up very well on its own as a standard kdrama. The first episode reminded me of Mr Queen (one of my fave kdramas), the comedy is done well, and the plot and writing are engaging. The relationship between the mains is cute and it's easy to see how it could've translated to actual romance. Plus seeing Yiheon initially navigate a school setting and being charmingly awkward and making friends was so cute, would highly recommend!

Lots of them. Which is exactly why I haven't posted. Haven't had the time to really dedicate to getting it out. Maybe this weekend. For the record I liked it very much. Not my favorite drama ever, but definitely a favorite of some type, sad ending and all. It was absolutely worth the watch as the acting was phenomenal. \*\*25 Ji, Akasaka de or At 25:00 in Akasaka\*\* — Japan BL — I liked the changes from the manga. This was a perfectly decent BL. Not my favorite, not my most hated, just very solid and decent. And very Japanese. \*\*Secret Ingredient\*\* — Waited for this to be totally out to binge. It was cute. Only 6 episodes of about 30 minutes each and while considered a Korean drama it was mostly in English with a bit of Korean and some Tagalog. And it had two of the most beautiful leads you will ever see - throw in head chef Arif and that completes it. \*\*The Princess Bodyguard's Love or 18-sai, Niizuma, Furin Shimasu\*\* — Japan — This is a classic super weird Japanese drama. Was it good? I dunno. Was it weird? Yes. Did I like it? I have no idea. Would I watch it again? I dunno. Would I recommend it? As long as you like weird Japanese dramas absolutely. I love weird and this fits. The first couple of episodes are super misleading and that's not at all what the drama is about. Watching: \*\*The Midnight Romance in Hagwon\*\* — (14/16) — Still happy with Ahn Pan Seok’s drama and how it feels! The leads are fantastic! When they argue? Chef's kiss. Excellent work. But the educational system keeps throwing me (speaking as someone who has no children and got their high school degree in the late 1990s in the USA - this style of education is 100% completely different than how I learned). It's incredibly hard to relate for that reason. \*\*Miss Night and Day\*\* — (4/16) — Eh. I like this one so far. Not in love with it, but I do enjoy the story telling. The two female lead counterparts are doing a good job - I genuinely feel like they are two halves of the same character. So good job so far. \*\*My Sweet Mobster\*\* — (4/16) — This is giving me Dali and the Cocky Prince vibes super hard. So much fun. And I am not familiar with this ML at all - never seen him anything. It's like this role was written for him. \*\*100 Days My Prince\*\* — (10/16) — I have tried to watch this several times. Never could get into it past episode 2. This time I saw Netflix advertising it and went - why not. It's sticking for some reason. All the dumb tropes are there, but it's not terrible. I have absolutely seen much worse.

If you want a “wtf twist is that?!” kind of drama it’s absolutely perfect for that. It is incredibly weird.
**Jealousy Incarnate** (aka on Netflix as **Don’t Dare to Dream**) and so far it has surprised the hell out of me. I totally pressed play for Jo Jung Suk, but am also now officially 100% hooked on SML’s character and their bromance is so amazing. And so far this could be my second fave drama of Gong Hyo Jin, behind It’s Okay That’s Love. Buuuttttt…. It’s 24 episodes and I am super dubious it’s gonna engage me like this the whole time, but I am not gonna despair just yet, and just hope for the best.
It started so well and Go Kyung Pyo is so hot in this one. I completely lost the will to continue in the middle because the dynamics in the triangle get so messed up. I hope it will stay interesting for you. I loved It's Okay that's Love also.
I'm with you. The writing got so messy in the middle on every level - dialogue, character dynamics, plot - that I checked MDL to see if it was one of those dramas with two writers. It wasn't, but it sure felt that way.

Oh, man...the ML is so awful that I just couldn't do it. I've seen many toxic relationships in K-drama but this one takes the top spot. Usually the toxic ML turns into a total puppy dog after they get together and you can kind of justify watching. Here, he just keeps abusing her and she just takes it because now he loves her. Run, girl! Run as far as you can and find a good therapist to figure out why you're drawn to a guy like that...
**Atypical Family** (3/12) * Picked this up because of my fondness for complex, atypical FLs and the Victorian gothic novel premise: rich family with secrets in decline targeted by a swindler. But some hammy over-acting and heavy exposition isn't drawing me in and from reviews I'm a bit worried this is a 'love fixed me' rather than a 'love empowered me to change' type drama, which isn't my cup of tea. Was planning to use it for KDC #28 (multi-generational cast) but I might put it on hold to explore other options. **Heard it Through the Grapevine** (12/30) * Unique and well realised, though not exactly enjoyable. It won a Best Drama Baeksang for its high society satire and parody of the makjang family drama: rich teen ML brings home pregnant poor teen FL and it touches off an in-law cold class war. But the comedic portrayal of serious abuse is a major negative as is the constant escalation/de-escalation of melodrama. The second half also had a lower budget and production company swap so I'm bracing myself for the quality drop. **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon** (14/16) * All of Ahn Pan Seok's dramas have similar themes and motifs but elsewhere they're better executed. This is a simple, sentimental view of complex educational issues delivered with enough pretension to be preachy, plus a bit of forbidden first love melo romance. The production is also rough around the edges; it was bumped up in the roster to replace **Resident Playbook** and would have benefited from more time in the editing room. Not a refund, but not something I'd recommend either. **Miss Night and Day** (4/12) * Rare is the mixed-genre murder romcom done right and this has some promising elements. The comedy is a bit much but the theme of how marginalized seniors are in Korean society (plus foreshadowing >!that the killer is elderly or disabled!<) is enough to keep the interest going, as is SML falling for the ahjumma edition of FL. But like many recent Kdramas it has a PD/writer team who can't seem to remember what match cuts are; the jerky narrative/cinematic transitions are jarring. **Tora ni Tsubasa** (60/130) * Favorite drama of the year so far for its humanistic view of women's lives and societal issues during the pre/post war Showa era; plus Sairi Ito acting her heart out as someone torn between ambition, idealism and tradition. Based on the life of Yoshiko Mibuchi (one of the first women lawyers/judges in Japan) and cameos other historical figures and events that helped reform Japan's legal system and constitution. Don't let the high episode count scare you off; asadoras are only ~15min long.

Patiently waiting for my beloved JCW’s upcoming works, so I’ve been in and out of watching kdramas. I finally finished Queen of Tears last week and have now fallen down the Kim Soo Hyun rabbit hole. Currently watching It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (6/16) and I’m enjoying it! Cinematography for this drama is absolutely stunning. The leads are of course gorgeous. Looking forward to going down his filmography 🙂↕️

Expose Reporter Cha Ok and Beom Jo’s Mom!< 😑 **Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale (8/10):** It’s a fun watch but I can barely remember what happened a few days after watching 😂 I can’t believe the >!leads haven’t confessed yet though!!!< We only have 2 episodes left 😭 **Midnight Romance at Hagwon (14/16):** Almost at the finish line even though it doesn’t feel like it. The Hagwon drama has finally reached its peak but I have no idea how things will wrap up as there is no clear cut plan at the moment. They got about 2 and a half hours to wrap up though so we’ll see ig. Not a fan of the drama but by the time I had that thought I felt like I already watched too much so here I am 😀 And that’s all!! By the time July 1st rolls around, I want to be finished all of these dramas + be on episode 45 of East of Eden (a little far fetched but I can hope lol)

I tried watching big mouth, but the plot was so preposterous that I gave up.
**It's Okay to Not Be Okay** 15/16. "Binging through it like my life depends on it" would be more accurate than "watching"! I rarely ever felt this moved by a drama before and shed some tears. The leads are both breathtaking and made me swoon so hard. >!EP.15's ENDING. KSH'S GAZE AS HE SLOWLY LEANED IN TO KISS HER WAS SO INTENSE IT PIERCED TROUGH MY SCREEN AND BURNED ME DOWN!<. Oh Jungse's performance is incredible too. I can't wait to see the ending and if they'll resolve the remaining gray areas around >!Moonyeong's mom!< but if they don't, I'll be happy regardless.
The director and graphic artist also worked on Encounter. I find both wonderful.

- Our beloved summer (8/16): I’m not sure if I’m going to complete it. It’s very boooooring. I really love slice of life dramas but this show is really turning me off. The two leads are very annoying and I see no chemistry between them. The female lead is very rude and obnoxious and seems like she is with the ML because she doesn’t have any other or better options. I feel no romance in the show and nothing is funny about a show that is labeled as romcom. - (Not Kdrama) House of the dragon s2 (1/??): a prequel no one asked for, of a show thta had the worst ending ever. And the first episodes of s1 were good with young Rhaenyra but when adult Rhaenyra was introduced the show lost its charm for me. I started episode one of season 2 and I was like meh I’m not interested. the story is not interesting for me and of course so much unnecessary sex scenes and I didn’t even finish the episode. So yeah I’m currently watching 2 shows that I have zero interest to complete 😅
If you don’t like OBS by now I would drop it!! I loved it but I get the people who don’t. I’m watching 1 drama that I lowkey should’ve dropped earlier so I feel your pain 😩

Agree with you on **Our Beloved Summer**! Overhyped. Boring. Lacked chemistry. I am a sucker for second-chance romances and enjoy enemies-to-lovers/lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers tropes, but ehh.

The first episode wasn't too bad, and I was hopeful-- but emoting is endless. Please, break up already. **The Good Bad Mother** (14/14): Someone last week shared that they were watching this, which reminded me that it’s been on my watchlist for a year. First drama I’ve seen of Lee Do-hyun after seeing him in Exhuma, and I completely understand the hype behind him. The range that he has! Ahn Eun-jin as always plays her role so naturally and endearingly, and Ra Mi-ran made me cry like every episode. I read episode reviews on this subreddit, and I think most of us got to the conclusion that while some things the mom did was borderline abusive, she was also doing her best to raise her child (or re-raise him) and was also growing through her own lessons. If you’re looking for a funny, heartfelt, emotional kdrama - look no further. **Miss Night and Day** (4/16): This one is frickin hilarious! Definitely gives me Behind Your Touch vibes where you can’t believe this is the premise the writers have setup, but you just roll with it. Both Eunji and Lee Jung-eun are a hoot in their character, and I trust that they’ll carry her through well. I’m really looking forward to the weekend now for the new episodes!

**My Demon:** Okay, honestly I got up to ep 10/11 and then realised I really don't care about the plot and how they're inevitably going to escape death etc. By this episode the Demon had already >!gotten his tattoo back so can't he just destroy the baddies, like do we really need another 4+ episodes of fake life and death stakes?? How is a human somehow a formidable enough villain vs a demon...!< Anyways, the ending was ok/decent but I just never felt that invested in this couple except finding them immensely good looking in the first 4 episodes. **Brain works:** This was surprisingly fun and comforting because I like Cha Tae Hyun as an actor and he brings so much warmth to his characters. I just really believe his characters are aa good as they are supposed to be. Yonghwa is serviceable and their partnership is fun but I preferred him in Sell Your Haunted House. But overall, an easy watch. **Connection:** I like it more the more I watch it. I have yet to watch ep 10 but I am still curious about everything now **My Sweet Mobster:** Not for me as much as I like UTG and he's so good looking **Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale:** I kinda get the satirical (?) vibe but also not quite sold on it after the first ep. Might wait til it's done.

Been watching Miss Night and Day, and I have to say, it's rare to find a genuinely funny show but this one has so far had some absolute LOL moments and a big part of that is the FL's performance and the situational humor. The FL's mom's bright red lipstick even at night in her home is a petty personal pet peeve of mine but I'm loving everything else about the show so far haha xD (especially Choi Jin Hyuk ;p)
My Sweet Mobster(light hearted drama with an ML whose voice gets you on your knees) and Miss Night and Day(some murder plot- wished it had less but I guess it gives a strong issue in the drama and the coolest, cutest and funny dancing queen of a shapeshifting ahjumma with a good sprinkle of humour). Watching ongoing dramas breaks my heart after every episode but watching them weekly definitely is a pick me up. Now I have something to look forward to every week. My Wednesdays, Thursdays and weekends are a little brighter now!
I love summer activities (okay, mostly all the fresh fruit and vegetables and all the work they entail), but on the other hand I regret that summer has to be so busy! I'm moving at a snail's pace with these dramas, and I don't dare to try to watch too late in the evening because I've developed this annoying tendency to fall asleep if I sit still for more than 20 minutes. **Moving** (4/20): The story is cute, so far, but I'm looking forward to more adult-focused stuff. All the violence coupled with the high school stuff is pretty jarring. I enjoy Go Youn Jung. She does guarded-yet-honest very well. I think it's because you can tell when she's considering things, but she has such a poker face. Maybe it's a lack of micro-expressions? I don't know if that's good or bad. Regardless, she makes it work! I'm going to add some of her other work to my PtW list. **Midnight Romance in Hagwon** (3/16): I haven't watched much in the last week, because I can't guarantee I'll stay awake (see above). I may have to postpone this one until the fall, at this rate! Edit: correcting auto-correct.
Oh no, falling asleep on the couch! I’ve been going to bed at 9 lately, so I relate. And for summer fruits, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries are going to be coming into season soon and they shouldn’t requiring much prep beyond washing. And then there’s also strawberry cake to be made. I realize this is very off topic from dramas! Anyway, I hope your summer slows down and barring that, dramas will always be there when the weather gets cold.
Marry My Husband (16/16) This was a fun drama if not a great one. Very little made sense and they didn’t really try to make it make sense. For example, the footage from the dash cam of Ms Yang’s >!husband cheating suddenly getting restored made no sense whatsoever.!< Also, isn’t it really hard to break >!zip ties?!< The main romance really fell flat to the point that I was very bored during the last 30-40 minutes or so of the drama which was just >!fluffy and happy married life.!< Normally I love that but they were just such an underdeveloped couple that I couldn’t care less. One more point that really bugged me/made me laugh was Yu Ji-Hyuk’s reaction to his cat knocking over a bottle of red wine on his light colored carpet. Even if he was lost in thought, that would have snapped him to attention, but instead he just had the same blank expression he always had on his face. I’ve said a lot of negative things but honestly, it was a fun if sort of bad drama to watch. My husband compared the watching experience to watching Heirs: the world of these characters makes no sense and you just have to go with it. However, I think Heirs has a lot of more fun details and characters. It was worth it to watch MMH for the cheaters alone, who were a lot of fun. The scene where Su-min >!kills Park Min Hwan!< was a great culmination of their storyline. My Sweet Mobster (4/16): I like this one a lot so far. The found family in the Thirsty Deer is developing nicely and I’m loving our two main actors together. I found some of the internet controversies annoying but hopefully we are past those and they’ve served their purpose for the plot. I always struggle to keep up with airing dramas, so hopefully I can keep up this time! Bride in Sneakers: I also watched this drama special when I surprisingly had an hour to myself yesterday and no episodes of My Sweet Mobster to watch, so I remembered this from my list. I love these type of Roman Holiday-esque movies/scenes where a romantic pairing stays out all night together roaming a city. There was sort of a scene like this in an episode of My Lovely Sam Soon and I loved that! A nice way to spend an hour. And surprisingly the same actor who plays Park Min Hwan in MMH played a dirtbag in this one as well!
I really, really liked Marry My Husband, so much so that I’ve already rewatched it. I thought the main couple had really great chemistry! Even though you knew from the very first episode how it was going to end, I found there were a lot of surprising twists and I really enjoyed the ride.
I think Park Min Young typically does have good chemistry with her co-star when the male actor is a good. For example, I thought her pairings in What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, Her Private Life, and Healer all had great chemistry but I didn't think she had good chemistry with her co-stars in Love in Contract, Forecasting Love and Weather and MMH, obviously. I've seen Na In Woo in a few dramas now and I just don't click with his acting. But chemistry is a super subjective thing and we all look for different things when it comes down to good chemistry! MMH had a similar, if less serious, feel to Reborn Rich and Little Women, though I strongly preferred both of those dramas.
Chemistry is super subjective haha I thought she had really good chemistry with Go Kyung Pyo in Love in Contract, and that was the only thing that made that drama watchable. Every single character on that show was super effed up, it was insane!
I was watching Frankly Speaking so of course I’m rewatching Jealousy Incarnate for the 3rd time. 2016 was a great year for Kdramas imho. It’s really something else. I love the chemistry of the leads (best tension/makeout sesh Jo Jung Suk/ Le Hwa Shin and Gong Hyo Jin/Pyo Na Ri). Also Go Kyung Pyo was such a sharp looking cutie and my asian mom side totally had SLS for him.

Re-watched Signal and finally got around to watching Witch at Court! I'm looking for more mystery/thriller type that involve law I lean so much towards *plot thickens* type shows lol
I love both dramas to bits! Witch at Court is pretty underrated tho. I don't get why cause the cases and of course the main story are really good. It was interesting how they handled the sexual assault case in which the victim was male and the perpetrator was female.

Im 13/20 for Vincenzo and have been really savouring this show. Usually, I binge most shows but this one have been taking it slowly. The humour was unexpected and really enjoyable. A few bits like the >!gold plot!< are dragging a little but still keen to see how it all ends up.
Hate to admit - on my third watch - just 'cause. Like how some of the characters go 'up to the edge' of too much but pull it back just in time. A great troupe of characters.
I love how the plaza group all come together and the capers they get into 🤣 I love how it can go from such stupid humour like the amazing PowerPoint presentations to guns so quickly. It's satisfying to watch!
watching queen of tears quite late since I had exams before, and I’m absolutely loving it. every episode has me smiling, laughing and crying 😭 just finished episode 12! I love finding kdramas that just feel right to watch, always looking forward to watching the next episode. Also Baek Hyunwoo and Hong Soocheol are the biggest green flags 🥹
**My Sweet Mobster:** I wasn't planning on watching this one but I saw people excited about it on Twitter and I'm so glad I jumped in. Uhm Tae Goo is killing it as someone scary on the outside, complete cinnamon roll on the inside and I'm also loving the Snow White and the Seven Dwarves vibe. **My Second Aoharu (Japan)**: This is an age gap romance between a 33 year old woman who's gone back to school to become an architect and her 10 years younger classmate who's a prodigy. As someone who went back to school in her 30s i'm finding the female lead very relatable and the drama leans hard on found family which is a favorite trope of mine. **Meet Yourself (China):** A workaholic career woman quits her job after a personal loss and moves to a homeshare in the countryside to recuperate. She meets a local man who quit a high paying job to return to his village and launch a tourism business. This is not super grabbing me yet but I love the ML after seeing him in Will Love in Spring so I'm persisting for now. **Wandee Goodday (Thailand):** BL about a friends with benefits relationship between a boxer and a surgeon. Things get complicated when they inevitably catch feelings for each other. This drama is almost plotless but it's funny and sex positive so a good turn-off-your-brain watch.

**Lovely Runner (10/16):** ngl, I am struggling to push through this one. I think its because I'm not feeling the ML being a tsundere, and I am more interested in the time travel. Also, I feel like they are revealing things too fast? Like so fast that if they took out the >!brief flashback of an accident when the future FL was away and the stabbing of the ML!< in the last couple episodes that I watched, the drama could of ended there. I am going to stick with this one all the way to end because I could be not seeing the whole picture! **My Sweet Mobster (5/16):** This one is unexpected for me. The first couple episodes didn't click with me but I stuck with it and now I cant stop smiling at these dorks! I love how the ML doesn't feel like a typical ML and I like the FL loves working with kids! I am not the best at watching shows as it airs (I am a binge watcher) but I am going to give this one a try!
**Frankly Speaking** 11/12. I’ve not really heard this one mentioned a lot on this sub but overall I’ve enjoyed it. Nothing spectacular but fairly light and an easy watch. Was a good palette cleanser after Queen of Tears.
Honorable mention to **Frankly Speaking** for being the only 2024 Kdrama I've seen that uses match cuts well. Episode 4 'The Switch' where scenes change through flickering lights, electronics being turned off/on and ends with a big, thematic blackout as a metaphor for ML's ability was an absolute delight from a cinematic and storytelling standpoint.

Tomorrow (10/16): this show is soooo good. I’m currently watching purposefully slowly because is so good I just don’t want it to end. People just don’t talk enough about how good this show is. Alchemy of Souls. (12/20): I just don’t like this show, like I don’t understand the hype, I don’t understand why everyone loves it so much. The storyline is super predictable, I know what’s gonna happen before it happens 90% of the time. I like the second lead so much more than the main lead. I haven’t give up on it yet though. Sound of Magic (3/6): this is the best 3 episodes of a Drama that I have seen so far. It’s fast paced due to lack of episodes, and so far a very good adaptation of the source material. Worth the watch.

I'm still on episode 1 of Midnight Romance in Hagwon. It's alright so far, I just started it today before going into work. I watched My Unicorn Girl because Darren Chen was in it, and I loved him in Meteor Garden. It reminded me of She's the Man. It was just as bad. I don't suggest it to anyone, but I actually finished it, so that's more than I can say about other dramas. I finished up My Roommate is a Gumiho, and I just love the ML and 2nd ML. Bae In Hyuk was great, now I'm looking stuff up to watch with him in it. Rewatching Something in The Rain on Viki instead of Netflix because I want to see it with the timed comments. 😁 Finished up A Piece of You, and I have many thoughts. Not all of them good, but I really enjoyed watching Jung Hae I, as usual.
I’m watching Personal Taste, from 2010 with Lee Min Ho and Son Yi Jin. It’s somehow like two separate shows smushed together. A sweet funny romance featuring the leads, their two friends, and the museum director, and a garishly-lit makjang featuring the second couple, the parents, and everyone else. The shifts in tone can be jarring, but I’m overall enjoying it. I also want to know: how does Lee Min Ho’s character get away with never responding to a question?! He just stares thoughtfully or angrily or sullenly into the middle distance, and no one ever presses him to answer. I want that super-power.
Happiness 2/12: after the first episode, I got curious with how they are going to develop each character since the premise of the show is about >!zombies!<. The 2nd episode seems to answer those questions. A little comedy and romance >!with a big dollop of zombie!< might be a good replacement after finishing Marry my husband last week. I tried watching Perfect Marriage Revenge but I started getting frustrated with the characters.
***In pause:*** **Something In The Rain (5/16) -** I put this series aside a little, because well, I'm not sure I want to continue with them flirting with each other in half-hearted words for another 11 episodes of around 1h30. Sorry, Jung Hae In... ***Completed:*** **Baron Noir (Season finale, 8/8) -** I hope this final season will not be prophetic after the elections in France. *These days, I haven't started any new Korean series but instead spent my free time watching films about the history of Korean military rule in the 80s.* **A Taxi Driver:** I wasn't able to get attached to the main character until halfway through the film. I found him a little selfish. **May 18:** The whole movie breaks my heart. **1987, When the day comes:** This finale full of hope... ***In Progress*** **House of The Dragon (S1) 8/8 -** What a season.... I'm really only watching 3 things: Snow White's Revenge/Scandal (8/101) - a daily drama with a villain FL. Idk what k-drama fans have against villain FLs, they're in denial about Moon Jung-In being the FL. There are books with villain MCs! Also, honest opinion... Han Bo-Reum has the same facial expression most of the time... which is annoying. Pretty sure it's because of the writing, but still. Emote a bit more. I do like the directing though, it doesn't feel like a typical daily (which is low-budget.) Temptation of an Angel (19/21) - I'm almost done with this one. Another drama with a villain FL, I really like it so far. All the characters are morally grey. I still hate Yoon Jae-Hee, and I don't like Hong Soo-Hyun's acting. After I finish this drama I'm watching Five Fingers. Death Note (season 1) - an anime. This is a rewatch but I just need inspiration for writing, so I'm mostly watching it for that reason. It's genuinely good though.
With the Olympics coming up, I recommend a Korean movie **Road to Boston** on Viki that really touched my heart - about an inspiring story of Korean athletes trying to make it to the Olympics - "When a Korean won the marathon Gold Medal in the 1936 Olympics, he was forced to wear the Japanese uniform. "Road to Boston" tells the incredible true story of what followed in the aftermath of this sad event." It is also nice to see a movie that can tell a whole story in about 2 hours, as a compelling story from start to finish happens in that timeframe. I look for dramas that can tell a story efficiently - for example the last 2 episodes should be plenty of time to pack a lot of action and feelings and wrap things up properly. #
Stranger (10/16), I'm really liking this drama and can't wait to see how it ends. I will say it's taking me longer to finish than I thought it would, because all the episodes are over an hour long and the plot requires you to really concentrate on what's happening the entire time and I sometimes struggle with that. But I'm slowly moving forward and enjoying it <3 The Glory part 1 (6/8), to be honest I was expecting way more from this drama given how obsessed with it everyone seems to be. It's not necessarily bad but I did get bored with the first few eps so I started watching on a higher speed to at least finish the first season. So far I've pushed through 6 eps but I still feel like nothing is really happening and it makes me sad because I was fully prepared to be addicted to it 😭 unsure if I should stick with it and watch the 2nd season since I've heard that's where the revenge finally happens or if I should finish the 1st and call it a day. My Boss (32/36) a cute chinese drama that I started watching while going through a very hard time and it has helped me a lot. Not only has it kept my attention the whole time but it made me smile everytime I felt bad. It means so much to me and I like pretty much everything about it. 🥰 Also rewatching Bridgerton s2 so I can finally watch s3.

Watching Bittersweet hell episode 6 This dramas plot hit a downgrade. Still going to see what happens. Dreaming of freaking fairtale (forgot the name) Im stretching each episode as far as possible. It's the first kdrama that i can say mad me actually laugh in a while. And Lee Jun Young. Midnight romance at hagwon I have a like dislike relationship with this show. Idky. I can find great things about it and things that i can't seem to get past. Maybe its the makjang lover in me that needs like gut wrenching tragedy. Idk. Cast is great.
I am watching 'Player 2 Master of Swindlers' and 'Bitter Sweet Hell'. Player 2 is fun but kind of lacks a bit of the group charm of the first series. Bitter Sweet Hell (so far) has been a lot of fun. I've only seen a couple of 막장 dramas before but I am starting to understand the appeal. 😆 Part of the fun comes from the bizarre English title. I kind of chuckle because the original Korean title directly translates to the much more sweet sounding 'Our Home.' Like, who decided on the radically different translation and why?!?!? haha
I'm watching **The Tale of Nokdu (12/32)** and really, I'm getting so frustrated because of the political scheming I don't seem to understand. 12 episodes in and I still don't know who's connected to whom in that political mess. It's littered with random flashbacks and really, why do half of the political scenes have to be in the dark - I just can't seem to recognise anyone. Is it just me? I enjoy the romance between the leads, but I started skipping all political scenes and that doesn't leave much to watch 😅 I'll probably drop this one.

Glad you asked. Yikes - Watched J**oko Anwar's Nightmares and Daydreams** - Indonesia. Oh my gosh! Only 7 episodes. Each one based on a different character. Each one seems more 'odd' than the one before - for lack of a better term. Not sure Joko had any daydreams - or they were all more like nightmares. If you watched **Everything Everywhere All At Once**, you might be prepared. Maybe. If you just want to experience something really different and at times difficult - give it a try. Might want to have a 'call a friend' number handy. Then I watched the music video **Popcorn** by Doh Kyung-soo and felt better. Whew! Nice summer tune.
I finished watching **Money Flower** this week and wow, what a great drama and superb cast. Jang Hyuk was excellent and the rest of the cast, particularly Lee Mi-suk and Jang Seong-jo were great as well. I'm participating in a group watch of **The K-2..**no complaints about Ji Chang Wook in fighting form ;-) And as a change of pace from these two, I started **Touch Your Heart**.
*Recently finished* **D.P.** Damn this was depressing. A gripping Show, but so so depressing. I know there's bullying going on in many areas in Korea, but I hope the men serving in the military aren't bullied to **that** extent. Horrifying. Anyways, I need a 3. Season. Need to see a change happening.. **The 8 Show** was an okay watch but I felt like there was depth missing with the characters while it focused more on the violence. I watched for Ryu Jun-Yeol and he delivered. Here I don't need another Season and wouldn’t watch it. **An Incurable Case of Love** Usually I like Stories with a cold ML, but this one did nothing for me. Also I wondered how the FL got to work as a nurse (in training?), when she didn’t even could draw blood. The Age Gaps where a little too much for my taste, since it wasn't only the Leads. But I loved the SML. He was a sweetheart, worth it for him. **The King of Pigs** One of the Shows I enjoyed from start to finish. Another one with heavy bullying and violence. I haven’t seen that Plottwist coming, it was a nice surprise. The teenage actors were incredible. *Watching* **Jugglers** (3/16) It's time for a lighter secretary Drama again. FL really needed that wake-up call that she is a secretary and not a servant for her boss. >!How do you want to answer your phone when you're having a Sung Hoon above you, ready to devour you?! Girl should have tossed that phone. No wonder he dumped her. lol!< But I guess the ML teaches her a little selfrespect and she teaches him compassion. The SML reminds me of a Character from another Drama I've watched, it's like a Deja-vu. I like him.
1. Uncle Samsik 10/16: Song Kang Ho pulling out all the stops for this drama. superb acting, good writing with good pace. Excellent drama so far 2. Insider 16/16: Don't know why this drama didn't do well. Much better than big mouth. 1st time seeing Kang Haneul in a role like this and he killed it. 3. Player 2 Master of Swindlers 8/16: Binged the first season and loved it. Enjoying second season as well. Just a good clean action drama 4. Blind (2022) 10/16: Took a stab at this one because Jung Eun Ji was in it, but so far writing is kind of all over the place. It seems like the writers wanted to keep the viewers guessing but throwing out bait every episode gets tiring. Might drop this one.
Just binged Arthdal Chronicles S1, can't bring myself to continue s2.... Should I drop the series?

Life - I used to give this one a pass, but then I fell for Lee Dong-wook and decided to give it a try and loved it. Well-written characters, great acting and cast, a plot that kept me interested. I'm not usually drawn to hospital shows, but this one was different, with more of a workplace + mystery feel to it. Well worth the time investment.
Just finished HeartBeat. I need a happy ending, light hearted one. Suggestions?
Currently watching My Liberation Notes and I honestly didn’t expect to like this drama but I’m in LOVE with it now. I’m so invested in every character and the main couple’s relationship is probably my favourite of all kdramas. Ahhh can’t wait to keep watching.
Ju finished 25-21 for the second time. I thought I would be fine since it’s been over two years. Initially, I didn’t think it was hitting hard like the first time so I won’t cry like the first viewing. Man, I was wrong. I sobbed probably almost as hard as the first watch. My husband came into the room with about 15 minutes left of the finale. I could hardly talk, my voice was still quivering. I still think it’s beautiful and haunting at the same time. I also so wish they would do a mini-series of maybe 3 episodes of the current day, but only the original young actors.
**Crash** - such a good show! Cop shows are not my usual genre preference but I was hooked from ep 1.

Still entranced by Thank You (finally the title is explained around episode 11!). The AIDS talk is still frustrating (why does FL think the AIDS is her fault?) but teared up at SML’s mom’s growth. SML is still sleazy despite his love for FL and daughter. It’s so weird!
Since Im done with the new ones (QOT/Atypical Family/Lovely Runner) I was able to take a glimpse of My Lovely Liar thru fb reels....The whole series would make you guess what happens next as your guesses would be able to make it already on the earlier episodes
