You can try with alcohol but since gasoline is a solvant, it probably already damaged the clear coat if not the paint underneath as well.
This is one of the reasons I never ever ever used the auto-stop function when filling up my bike. It takes 30 seconds to hold down the nozzle and youâre done.
Hope you learned from this.
I dont use it and didnt try to use the auto stop. Pulled the lever in too much, the holder flung out and stayed out. Couldnât fix it in time. Completely accidental
Is that a Matt finish? If so thatâs a big oof. Gloss clear coats can be polished out or if the damage is deeper, sand paper then polish.
Matt coats you canât buff out, youâd have to sand then respray a matt coat
Hey it's just a bike. I know you've spent your money on it, but it's just part of the adventure of owning a bike. You're alive. The bike runs... Go ride it and enjoy it. No one thing is perfectly beautiful.
I owned a detailing business for many years and loved making stuff "perfect", but I also loved seeing vehicles come in that we're being used. I had a customer that owned a Corvette and Ferrari, and both always came in once a year just driven to hell. It made me happy seeing them being driven.
Hey it looks like tears. If people ask about it just tell them it's the tears of the losers you've left in the dust. I do hope you find a solution, it is a beautiful bike regardless of the stains. Don't beat yourself up about it friend.
Tough? This stuff only looks good when it's immaculate...and my bike is gloss white, so I feel the pain too, but matte paints literally lose their finish when you polish and clean them
I have no idea but if they revive [Street Hawk](http://blackholereviews.blogspot.com/2010/06/street-hawk-1985-finally-on-dvd.html?m=1) then I vote they use your bike for tv show.

Welp, shit happens. Like others said, if itâs a matte finish, canât be polished. If itâs glossy, then yes.
This happened to my matte black fairings and I used rubbing alcohol and it came right off, paint was fine under, hope yours is too!
Alcohol and drugs so you don't see the blobs

Even with clear coat gas will soften it and kind of eat it away over time. But on matte you're basically screwed since it has no protection like gloss
Only fix is new pieces or painting over. You've bleached it basically.
Basically the answer im looking for. Thank you going to cry now

As soon as you see any drip of gas on any paint, wipe it off quick.
Black permanent marker
you must like the Dead Kennedys, oi oi oi!
Unpopular opinion; dump your whole gastank in gasoline to âfixâ it. You cant see it if itâs everything is everywhere
It ain't stupid if it works
Light a cigar to celebrate
Meguiars Ultimate Compound will take the rough layer off the clear coat, providing it hasn't gone all the way through. That stuff is like magic.
trying this after the alcohol, thank ya
No need to drink over something so small
Referring to the earlier comment stating try (i assume ) rubbing alcohol to resolve the issue. Just tried and i dont think it helped.
I was kidding
Damn bro, drinking rubbing alcohol is harsh. U at least add some OJ and grenadine?
Careful with it on the actual stuck on decals though, it may take the color off.

This is why I don't like matte black
But its so toughhh. Id remake this fairing kit (and will once i get track fairings)

fucking LOVE the color scheme
Thnx but i ruined itđ
gives it personality, i wouldnt worry about it too much
Just pictured you and your buddies recreating the gas station scene in Zoolander.
