This is the one thing which made me smart. My GK is all attributed to Balarama and Balarama digest. The interests I developed in Physics and other subjects is because of it. Thanks Balarama!
I remember reading about Helen Keller, Edison, world leaders from it!
yeah dude I know. I don't remember Balarama painting him as a fraud. But such inspirational stories inspired me to be so interested in the sciences and made me what I am.
Thanks bro. Because that digest I bought from my friend for 5 rupees. Which actually changed my life back then..together with NatGeo broadcast of Mission to Mars. Became a big space fan later.
Bro I had Balaramas all the way back from 2005 till 2016. My mother and grandmother together gave it away to aakri. I literally didn't eat for 2 days and didn't come out of my room, and they had to pacify me with a new laptop.
I still got the collection from almost 07 - 17ish almost.. But damn digest was way too good for the students of the period (before internetization😑 'is that even a word ').. 🤌🔥
That Che Guevara one under the Charithraprasidha Vanithakal (2007) is one of my all time favourite Balaram Digests. That first page intro is a masterpiece, stuff worthy of goosebumps. It will make you feel to rise up and revolt against the injustices in the society.
Though I lost my collection, I'm glad you still have it in proper condition. Keep it safe
Held onto them (280 books) until 2010. But then broadband arrived. But gotta say, they definitely made me a person who is always like,'Did you know?' Unable to get of.
I still remember forcing my father to tell the newspaper guy to put digest also along with Balarama..
First one if i remember right was "nammalude shareeram"
Do you have the dinosaur one, i believe it's the 4th one published.
I also remember having the snakes one which I've obsessed on for so many hours that my mom had enough and tore it apart.
I always used to wonder where are these people who grew up reading all these general knowledge books. Did you achieved anything with it? Like I have cousins who used to criticise me for buying fast track and other auto magazines.

I used have 10 years collection of Balabhumi & Balarama. I sold it to Aakri . Huge relief .
I can't enjoy these books like when im used to be a kid. Yeah i used to enjoy these books and cartoons tille my 25 . Now at 30 i dont know why 😔.
This very book + yureka( anyone remembers it) helped me to become what i am. Helped me to develop my reading habit (much of which I lost currently) which led to membership in three libraries when I was in my tenth.
The books that i read, the knowledge i acquired always gave me an edge throughout my degree life, during my mba and for the interviews later on.
I hope i could give a similar childhood for my children too.
I used to kinda steal those, digest for cheap money from my cousin , I bribed him 2RS for each copy, for him to buy mittai, those digests were actually bought by his elder brother.
I had a collection till 2012. Most of it got damaged by mold from the cupboard. I'm still heartbroken. I used to collect padipura and Tell me why till 75th volume.
I too had a collection of all the digest released from 2002 to 2008. I gave all my books to my friend for who is doing some scholarship exam back then. Never got it back.
i have a much smaller collection but i also have some of these books. I remember my mother had to fight a bit to get me these when i was a kid because we lived in a joint family and others were not happy about this spending we had on Balarama and digest books.
Having these subscriptions were a luxury at the time. I had to settle for Balabhoomi (cheaper) because we had subscription to digest. I used to trade them for old copies of Balarama at school.
I remember those days when our TV was gone and I started reading Balarama, the wait for a week for the next edition to arrive at my doorstep was a different high. That's how I got into reading books.
OP, do you have either of these volumes - പ്രകൃതിയിലെ എഞ്ചിനീയർമാർ or ചൊവ്വ?
I could recall, these two where the first digest editions I read and then that contined for another 8-10 years!
There. My childhood right there.
Nostalgia is perhaps the most powerful drug. One which hits u harder everytime u are down

This is the one thing which made me smart. My GK is all attributed to Balarama and Balarama digest. The interests I developed in Physics and other subjects is because of it. Thanks Balarama! I remember reading about Helen Keller, Edison, world leaders from it!
I remember those too. I owe it to the Harry Potter special digest for making me want to learn English better for reading the books
Same here.. it played a huge part in my childhood
Just FYI, Edison was a fraud and thief.
yeah dude I know. I don't remember Balarama painting him as a fraud. But such inspirational stories inspired me to be so interested in the sciences and made me what I am.

Is there anyone who works at Manorama on reddit? Can they check if scanned old copies can be made available?
Nice, this 50pg digest was one of my favourite reads during childhood. Do they still continue?
No idea. I stopped after 2008
Yes.. they still does
dude, scan and make a digital copy
I will. Next time I feel a burst of energy.

Thanks for the offer. The bottleneck is time. It took me half a day to arrange it in order. I will plan to digitise it on another weekend.
Bro bumping again… can you find the edition titled “Chovva” (mars) ..
Let me check when I get back home today
Thanks bro. Because that digest I bought from my friend for 5 rupees. Which actually changed my life back then..together with NatGeo broadcast of Mission to Mars. Became a big space fan later.
you should archive it. i used to scan old magazine and publish on public domains like [archive.org](http://archive.org)
I can also volunteer, i have the collection from 2011 to 2016
It may be copyright violation.
Will the copyright violation work if they're not making money off it. Also are these available for digital purchase?
That's not how copyright laws works.

I still remember forcing my father to tell the newspaper guy to put digest also along with Balarama.. First one if i remember right was "nammalude shareeram"
I am surprised no one mentioned AD3000 comic on the last page. I had so much fun reading those while arranging these books in order.
I would buy these if youre selling them

Yeah those were not times of abundance . As everything worked out well no complaints about that either . Times just went by so fast.

they used to promote many conspiracy theories also. now they have lost relevance after internet became affordable and accessible
I remember those days when our TV was gone and I started reading Balarama, the wait for a week for the next edition to arrive at my doorstep was a different high. That's how I got into reading books.
The sacred texts!!
Do you have the History of motorcycles edition?
I have Tell Me Why Collection❤️
Funnily enough I got the collection from 2009-2018
