It's okay everyone. We know he likes copying Tory behaviours. His first piece of legislation will be passed using his overwhelming majority to declare in UK law that Sir Keir Starmer is indeed a Socialist.
Also, combining his authoritarian traits, disagreeing will be a criminal offence with a 5 year minimum sentence without parole.

I don’t like this idea that there is such a thing as a “real” socialist - it’s this kind of purity test spouting approach that actually enables people who want genuine transformative change to fight amongst themselves while status quo holder uppers like starmer are allowed to take power
I’m not saying starmer does. I’m saying the idea of using terms like “real” socialist are unhelpful. This is how you end up with socialist factions fighting one another in Spain in the 30s instead of the fascists. And it’s why there has never been a strong socialist or properly left leaning progressive party in the UK.
I do understand the point you are making when it comes to infighting on the left.
However there has to be some point at which we acknowledge that someone is not on the left at all.
Anarcho-Capitalism is an oxymoron. An-Caps are just Neo-Feudalists, they just switched out aristocrats and monarchs for C-suite execs and the hyper wealthy. It's a joke ideology that revolves around striping rights from people and regulations from corporations.
To provide the actual answer to this. I don’t think the title of the post is claiming that OP is a “real socialist” (although they might be). Instead, insofar as it is the online title of the article they have posted, I suspect it was an automatic title.
So it is Jess Bernard, the author of the article and chair of Young Labour, who is making the claim (fairly in my opinion) to be a socialist.

Those are all buzzwords with very malleable definitions. Socialist actually defines a specific set of political aims (even if you exclude Marx)
