I hear you! I wanted to start with a Void Knight Autobomber build, though, and I stream from my PC downstairs to my mac upstairs... no numlock! So I'm on the prowl for a second build to be excited about, heh.
I have to say I wasn't excited for this skill reveal AT ALL but after reading it... holy. This skill is awesome! Smite support? Check. Melee support? Check. DIVINE BOLT SUPPORT? Check. Finally another traversal skill? Check. Beam of death? Check. It's beautiful.
Would go nuts with some kind of Wild Strike like skill, or tri-ele melee skill for spellblade. PoE kinda bricked me, never knew how much that niche skill meant to me. Elemental melee damage with proper status effects seems so rare these days
Oh, no shit? I'll need to read the new skills more. Was just gonna go enchant weapon shatter strike (cold melee is my favorite) but maybe there's some cool druid transforming melee skill I can do. Thanks!
You can't trigger healing hands from indirect smites. Unless you're talking they'll both trigger independently, one from the multi node the other from healing hands node.
It’d be triggering smite from multi strike and triggering damaging healing hands via the clerics hammer node + damage from searing light node.
Multi strike is free and can get 8mana per use, use a scepter for -3 mana cost to make healing hands and smite effectively free.
I don’t know, that could be really good too. I personally wanted more smites from multi strike for the single target w healing hands taking care of aoe.
That many healing hands from warpath might be better if it’s every tic though.
From what I'm reading it should work. But I'm new so not sure.
Idea is to stack attack speed and fire damage for Healing hands and Flameburst to deal damage
Yeah the last trailers show a much better looking game, it's more than just lighting too (though big part), seems they upgraded the animations, some models, even maybe stuff like vegetation density and such)
1. Yes, but no. Unbroken Prayer will cause the channeled ticks of Healing Hands four times per second that with Searing Light deal hit damage. Skyfall adds the sky beam DoT - unrelated to the ticks of Healing Hands.
2. Yes, via a node
Within the past week I’ve seen one post about sentinel lacking defensive options and one post about hybrid spell/melee not being supported enough on sentinel.
While I don’t necessarily agree with those criticisms, this one skill tree addresses both. Amazing job EHG!
I just kinda settled on fire based paladin for launch ( hadn’t played any sentinel before and seemed ez for quick campaign ) and this skill is great to play with
I really like the hands of Aurelius node. Absolutely worthless in solo play, but if your team is melee heavy in group play, I love that it procs around your allies in melee.
I was thinking more the heal, but I guess that wouldn't be absolutely worthless. Just think if you're solo play, it might be better to go with the melee variant but hey, you're right about the way you look at it too
The damage combo can be great, but the heal can also be really nice on additional procs such as javalin banner or lunge procs where the smites happen right next to you while melee'ing
Hey response is days late but with the node that makes healing hands damage will this tick with warpath hits? Have specced into it but doesn't seem to be proccing.
Hopefully last epoch has plans to improve shaman. I like the melee caster archetype a lot and spellblade is completely garbage. Hopefully one of these get improved!
If you missed it, we showcased the new Primalist Skill: Gathering Storm, as well as the reworked Tempest Strike two days ago, both of which play very nicely with Shaman
https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/gathering-storm-and-tempest-strike-rework-coming-to-last-epoch-feb-21st/62368/
Now imagine if traversal skills weren’t global CD - this would mean finally, all traversal skill build 😎
Jokes aside sentinel is my fave and this looks hella fun, cant wait to try it out
Absolutly amazing can't wait to see the full skill tree. Was all in on going Warlock for 1.0 but now im not sure anymore. Always loved the Sentinel and with these options its going to be hard not just investing my time in building something with him instead.
What happens when you combine Seraphs Strike with the node that lets you cast Healing Hands on melee hit? Do we get to double dip melee scaling here with another weapon attack? Or, even funnier but probably not, does it trigger *itself*?
Can I get a clarification on the term 'directly' as in the auto-proc talent 'Cleric's Hammer'? I'm assuming 'active' as a synonym here but I wanted to be sure.
Does this mean that 'indirect' attacks generated from skills/talents (eg. counter attack/multi-strike) will *not* proc this ability?
Cleric's Hammer would not proc from each sword. It would proc once per attack, as it doesn't proc on hit, it procs "**when you directly use a melee attack and hit at least one enemy**".
I wasn't really excited about this since I never actually used this skill before.
But I have to say, this opens up some interesting ideas.
The auto-cast on melee attacks could basically make a Double-Judgement, and the auto-cast on Smite could probably make Fire-Smite a viable option for AoE clear.
Looking at the "Unofficial Roadmap" thread it sounds like at one point that was the intent but more recently they decided not all things need to be symmetrical. So I'm guessing if we haven't heard anything about new skills for those there aren't any coming, at least for the time being.
I'm really loving the skill reworks with all the different functionality nodes; being able to "morph" skills into something compatible with our chosen playstyles add so much depth and variety.
Hurting hands.
Muscle Wizard? Nah, we have Holy Fisticuffs.
Harming hands
"The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic"
"You're about to catch these healing hands."
Bad Touch.
Harmacist.
Before reading this post: Who cares? It's a support skill After reading: Time to retake the holy land, I'm going to heal you to death
At first glance, the skill does sound like something from the skincare aisle; and not the mega testosterone 40-in-1 dark gray 1000 blade razor side!
> the mega testosterone 40-in-1 dark gray 1000 blade razor Ok. You have my attention. Please, go on.
SKY LASER BEAM!!!
Guys, you have to stop making every single class look awesome. I already have 5 builds I want to play first. This isn't helping.
I hear you! I wanted to start with a Void Knight Autobomber build, though, and I stream from my PC downstairs to my mac upstairs... no numlock! So I'm on the prowl for a second build to be excited about, heh.
Void knight has changes? Rn its most boring and degenerative class
Looking to start with a combo that doesn't need much gear.
I have to say I wasn't excited for this skill reveal AT ALL but after reading it... holy. This skill is awesome! Smite support? Check. Melee support? Check. DIVINE BOLT SUPPORT? Check. Finally another traversal skill? Check. Beam of death? Check. It's beautiful.
Oh damn I didn't expect us to get that orbital beam move that those Diamond Matrons(I think that's their name) use. Nice.
W after W
This game is really trying to steal all my time for the next several months.
The orbital laser is baller af
Skill MTX for the orbital death beam will be wild calling it now
I'm a sucker for Gears of War Hammer of Dawn gameplay.
Melee spell caster is looking very nice for a Paladin. Multi strike dropping smites while launching healing hands nukes is gonna be pretty.
Melee attack caster is always my favorite archetype. I feel like other classes do that better than Spellblade does and it’s kinda sad.
Would go nuts with some kind of Wild Strike like skill, or tri-ele melee skill for spellblade. PoE kinda bricked me, never knew how much that niche skill meant to me. Elemental melee damage with proper status effects seems so rare these days
That’s effectively what tempest strike is. Can choose to ignore any elements or focus all of them.
Oh, no shit? I'll need to read the new skills more. Was just gonna go enchant weapon shatter strike (cold melee is my favorite) but maybe there's some cool druid transforming melee skill I can do. Thanks!
Wait doesn't Spellblade has elemental spells in melee? I thought that was his thing (haven't played Spellblade)
Air Strike Paladin is becoming a reality
You can't trigger healing hands from indirect smites. Unless you're talking they'll both trigger independently, one from the multi node the other from healing hands node.
It’d be triggering smite from multi strike and triggering damaging healing hands via the clerics hammer node + damage from searing light node. Multi strike is free and can get 8mana per use, use a scepter for -3 mana cost to make healing hands and smite effectively free.
If you pull in Devotion amulet too sounds like it'll be really good.
Will the clerics hammer node trigger healing hands on every tick of warpath? Want to scale attack speed and nuke with warpath
I don’t know, that could be really good too. I personally wanted more smites from multi strike for the single target w healing hands taking care of aoe. That many healing hands from warpath might be better if it’s every tic though.
Doesn't work. Only on first hit of warpath.
Dang probably too hard to balance.
Yeah I've had to change my plans now sadly
From what I'm reading it should work. But I'm new so not sure. Idea is to stack attack speed and fire damage for Healing hands and Flameburst to deal damage
Same but now I can’t decide if I want shaman or paladin as my melee magic hybrid class…
Not sure if it's the lighting but the animations are looking very damn clean, hope the sound design improvements are on par!
The light changes they did made a massive difference to how the game looks
Yeah the last trailers show a much better looking game, it's more than just lighting too (though big part), seems they upgraded the animations, some models, even maybe stuff like vegetation density and such)
From what i gather along with the lighting improvements Models and animations also have been updated. Seems quite noticable!
Immediate interaction question: Searing Light (hit damage) + Skyfall (Channel DoT) = Hit damage per channel tic? Second question: Healing effectiveness -> damage scaling like Consecrated Ground or nah?
1. Yes, but no. Unbroken Prayer will cause the channeled ticks of Healing Hands four times per second that with Searing Light deal hit damage. Skyfall adds the sky beam DoT - unrelated to the ticks of Healing Hands. 2. Yes, via a node
You all are so awesome amazing work!
Very much appreciate the info!! Gotta agree with the rest of the comments, you guys are really making it hard to decide a class for launch!! XD
Will the clerics hammer node trigger healing hands on every tick of warpath?
Nice, another movement option. I wonder if we can reduce its mana cost, could be a nice option for spell warpath if so.
Another W for the devs
Healing Hands ready to throw hands.
I wonder if there is a node for void conversion so that Void mages have another style of play.
holy…
Hell
Someone cooked here
Why are you making me change my build for the first cycle?
that's a lot of dealing damage for a healing spell.
Within the past week I’ve seen one post about sentinel lacking defensive options and one post about hybrid spell/melee not being supported enough on sentinel. While I don’t necessarily agree with those criticisms, this one skill tree addresses both. Amazing job EHG!
I just kinda settled on fire based paladin for launch ( hadn’t played any sentinel before and seemed ez for quick campaign ) and this skill is great to play with
YO CHANNELED ORBITAL STRIKE IS GREAT I'm gonna have to revisit my old support paladin concept, this all sounds excellent!
Amazing. Didn't expect Paladin buffs/changes, this is great!! Super hyped for launch!
Hyped af if I may say
Seraph Blade build or Mana Strike build...?
Some sort of Vengeance + Seraph Blade + Clerics Hammer + Echo VK seems like it could be decent IF the Echo procs HH like it does smite.
Can't wait to find out tomorrow!
I really like the hands of Aurelius node. Absolutely worthless in solo play, but if your team is melee heavy in group play, I love that it procs around your allies in melee.
Why would proc'ing the Fire AoE (Searing Light) on Smite be useless in solo play? It's basically doubling Smite up on Fire Damage.
HH proc on smite only occurs from direct smite casts
If we make Healing Hands deal damage, will it stop healing us?
no
Hey response is days late but with the node that makes healing hands damage will this tick with warpath hits? Have specced into it but doesn't seem to be proccing.
I do like the channeled light pillar.
Hopefully last epoch has plans to improve shaman. I like the melee caster archetype a lot and spellblade is completely garbage. Hopefully one of these get improved!

Shaman already got announced, there's a new spammy melee skill and tempest strike was reworked
Wrong way to use healing magic
the developers watched an episode of redo of a healer.
More like an ep of "the wrong way to use healing magic"
Now imagine if traversal skills weren’t global CD - this would mean finally, all traversal skill build 😎 Jokes aside sentinel is my fave and this looks hella fun, cant wait to try it out
Now that's some skill customization, holy shit.
Ohh boy time to bring the holy smitter back from retirement.
Ignite warpath buff???
Absolutly amazing can't wait to see the full skill tree. Was all in on going Warlock for 1.0 but now im not sure anymore. Always loved the Sentinel and with these options its going to be hard not just investing my time in building something with him instead.
Well, I guess my first build will be healing hands orbital strike with the skyfall node
Holy, this looks like such a fun skill. It's a shame I'm in a committed relationship with my Falcon.
This is getting ridiculous. Everything looks so good. Hype is so high. Everyday I change my starter...
As someone who loved Crusader in D3, this looks awesome
Hype
I love how much variety there is in this skill tree. Need more of this in other skill trees. Great job.
"What do you mean I'm not a healer? If you're dead you're not in pain anymore, right?"
What happens when you combine Seraphs Strike with the node that lets you cast Healing Hands on melee hit? Do we get to double dip melee scaling here with another weapon attack? Or, even funnier but probably not, does it trigger *itself*?
yes
This man, with one word, started to make me doubt going for the birb-lady on launch day- xD
"Directly" means you pushed the button to use the skill directly. It was not triggered by something else.
Thank you! So extra attacks from multi-strike *can* proc since the skill is pressed but counter attack would not since no skill is pressed?
Cleric's Hammer would not proc from each sword. It would proc once per attack, as it doesn't proc on hit, it procs "**when you directly use a melee attack and hit at least one enemy**".
Ah! That makes much more sense! Thank you for clearing up that misunderstanding!
Looks awesome! Now show me the dang acid trap you are hiding next! Pleeeasssseeee!!
If it's able to clear the hardest content, I'll be rolling this. For the last 8 patches I have been doing shield charge builds with Paladin.
I have not touched a proc pali in awhile, might have to look into it. Might wait till I get a pair of the fire trail boots first though.
Love it! This is exactly what I wanted!! <3
I wasn't really excited about this since I never actually used this skill before. But I have to say, this opens up some interesting ideas. The auto-cast on melee attacks could basically make a Double-Judgement, and the auto-cast on Smite could probably make Fire-Smite a viable option for AoE clear.
Does anyone know if paladin will also get the missing 5th skill on 1.0? Edit: Same question with Marksman and Bladedancer I guess.
Will clerics hammer proc the skyfall beam since its a channel skill?
