Some of things the nemeses do to rares can be bonkers. Adding new affixes, sealing existing affixes, upgrading the tiers of existing affixes (including going up to T6-T7, making exalted items with potentially multiple exalted affixes), adding more forging potential, etc. I'd definitely empower if the rares look interesting to you.

littlebethyblue

I would look at the rares, do they have relevant skills, affixes, etc, empower. You can get some pretty bonkers items from the rares rather than the uniques.

Merquise813

You should also check the other items. The rare ones. When you empower those, sometimes they turn into exalted items. Sometimes, they get sealed affixes. SOMETIMES, those sealed affixes can be exalted. I got an axe with a tier 7 sealed crit chance. and a tier 6 lightning damage. Had to upgrade the rest of the affixes. I got tier 5 chance to poison, chance to ignite and attack speed. EDIT: I got it while I was level 55 or something. Also, if you've got a unique that can help your build with no LP, just keep it in your inventory. When you encounter a nemesis with an egg, you can swap it out with that unique so the nemesis can empower it. I did it on a Sigeon's reprisal, and empowered it to 2LP.

Wait, the Egg spits out the same item you put in, but stronger? I think I might have hastly read the description and it said something along the lines of "You'll lose this item and get a different one" so I was just putting random garbage uniques I had laying around.

kenm130

Yes. It can add another stat or legendary potential etc. It is the same item you put in with extra stuff. The disclaimer just says that you may go a little while before you get the item back and it will be changed. (As in added mods).

MNSkye

You only get a random one if you don’t put your own unique in, otherwise it makes the one you put in legendary or gives it lp

Merquise813

WHAT?!!!! Damn! Guess you don't need to bring the item with you then. lol Thanks for letting me know!

Mael_Jade

Nemesis is the only source of sealed exalted affixes in the game. Just look at the rare items, if its anywhere near useful for you just empower them and hope it rolls some nutty items.

rds90vert

Finishing campaign but I always empower. Got some very cool exalted or legendary items much earlier than normal, and the empowering can result in some bonkers stuff for rares..

DiligentIndustry6461

They can be really good later on when they get exalted gear on them. They can end up with 2 exalted affixes, and sometimes a good sealed affix. I saw an exalted +4 to skill affix sealed that someone linked before too I noticed in empowered monolith nemesis, you often get LP items instead of legendary like levelling which is great. I’ve got some random 2LP so far, nothing good but it has potential. Not every nemesis will be great, you’ll have to just banish or kill some, but we’re only a few days into cycle and you can get some good hits. It’s all extra gear on top of all the ways to get already in game

jacobs0n

make sure to check the rares, i saw an armor with +1 skill, empowered twice and it ended up being +4 (t7)

rand0mtaskk

I did a whole bunch of regular monos last night and I didn’t see a single nemesis 😭

the_truth15

Is this your 2nd char ?

rand0mtaskk

LE isn’t the only game I play.

the_truth15

I'm only asking because of a known bug where having a 2nd character the nemesis doesn't show up. Sheesh.

wondermayo

I'm playing the same build and got a couple of uniques from Nemesis. After that I use it mostly to improve unique items with no LP. And ofc the occasional great exalted items but that's very RNG.

tadrinth

Once you start seeing Dragon Eggs, you can insert one of your own uniques and then empower to give it random stats or LP. You can't do this repeatedly to the same item, because it has to be a unique with no LP, and it'll probably roll garbage stats, but there's really not much else to do with spare 0 LP uniques, and there's always the possibility it'll roll something amazing. Dragon Eggs are more common at higher level and with the rank 1 Harbinger faction bonus, eventually reaching a 100% chance. If you've already empowered all the 0 LP unique items you've found that are relevant to your build, then this doesn't help you. I'll also point out that Glyph of Envy does not reroll sealed affixes. If you get a really good sealed affix and at least one good affix that isn't T5, you can Glyph of Envy and hope that it rolls a good base type and some decent affixes. I don't think I would empower just for this, that's a heck of a moonshot, but it is another thing to do with the high tier sealed affixes you get out of the nemesis.

Gola_

The main value of empowering are the Forgotten eggs to add LP potential to high level uniques from your stash. At lvl 100 I believe there's a 100% chance to get an egg offered above faction rank 1. Think about how rare it is to loot a Red Ring or Wings of Argentus with LP. I made an extra stash tab for no-LP uniques I want to empower with future Nemesis.

DT777

yeah this. I now have 2 Red Rings with 1 LP and an Omnis with 1 LP because of eggs.

julsh2060

The power is inputting LP0 legendaries and getting affixes or even adding LP to it.

MannyTheUnlikely

Yea I agree with you. I find the idea and the mechanical execution to be super fun. However, the amount of times I "Banished" compared to the amount of times I "Empowered/Challenged", I believe, is an issue. There could be two sets of items, and you lock yourself into one the first time you empower. You could provide a way to "Reroll" potential reward. I don't know, lacking is a good word to resume how much I interacted with the league mechanic, aside from banishing sets of items.
