Andan puro tirando la pela malayas qlas

Magicus1

La tuya por si acaso.

paezaurio

No entendí, pero sí

SuspiciousSimple

Alguien sabe que dijo este pendejo? Jajaja, necesito google translate para entender.

LegendaryCollector

Google translate se queda corto, necesitamos a un lingüista y al menos dos filólogos

SuspiciousSimple

En que diablo es "filologos"?

LegendaryCollector

Un filólogo es alguien que estudia la cultura a través del lenguaje, los escritos y la literatura

neskiii

Estan hablando sandeces, indecentes penetrados. "Malaya" es un poco mas complicado de traducir, podria explicarse como alguien mal habido en todos los aspectos.

TorstenJoaoFalcao

Se podría traducir como "están puro tonteando, incompetentes abusados sexualmente"

BryanLoeher

Um abraço do Brasil, meus camaradas latinos

Dept_of_Sanitation

lol, my mom works as an interpreter. She has both Spanish and Chilean Spanish listed under her skills, I never understood why until now.

BBQFatty

You could’ve asked her all this time

AthousandLittlePies

He did but didn't understand her answer

SaGlamBear

Mexican here. I don’t really see the big struggle. Yes it’s unique and sometimes hilarious but I’ve seen movies shows and talked to friends in Chile. They just have a couple different words and they eat a lot of letters but other variants of Spanish do that too.

IAmKermitR

Ther is a Chilean accent that is closer to neutral and not so hard to understand, and then there is this: https://youtu.be/otDhTyaom84?si=1dQYByE48KXMpl86

SaGlamBear

Yeah that’s true. My friends are from Santiago. I am from a bigger city in Mexico too (not cdmx). The more rural you get or more uneducated the more “different” it is I guess. That applies to us too. I think my Chilean friends probably would understand that YouTube video 100% and I maybe understood 50-60% too but if you interviewed a random criminal under arrest in Zacatecas or Guanajuato, a Chilean would probably struggle to understand too.

Lunxr_punk

Nah, todo el mundo podria entender a Felipe Ferras Gómez alias “El Ferras”

bufarreti

Chilean here, that could very well be a criminal from Santiago. Nothing about that slang is regional.

patiperro_v3

Let’s try. Send me a youtube link.

cijdl584

why did you send a video of a cantonese guy

iceteka

My parents are from a tiny rural area of México. This isn't some tough accent it's due to a lack of education and adaptation of words from local indigenous dialects or languages.

petesapai

Something something Antigua something something

VapeThisBro

this, to me sounds like what someone pretending to speak spanish would sound like

qwertty69

Is like if you kick a can of soda for a while

mz3

The thing with chilean spanish is that their text-to-speech lacks the space bar, the letter D, the CH is pronounced SH, accents just go wherever and many times E is replaced by I

Thybro

Bro I’m Cuban we go fast, the D in the last syllable of any word doesn’t exist. Yet I find issues keeping up with pure unadulterated Chilean. They change the conjugations and double pronouns. Like Tienes becomes tení and podrias becomes podriai Or Like “Te lo voy a dar” becomes “Te lo voy a dartelo” and “me Voy a ir” becomes “me Voy a irme”

ahjota

Personally, some Cubans are difficult to understand. I met one several years ago through some soccer friends, he was a great player by the way, but holy fuck when I first met him and heard him speaking to another Cuban, I swear to god I thought he was speaking Arabic. Till this day, when he speaks to me, I only catch a few words and the rest I'm just nodding my head "ah si."

theaviationhistorian

For me, Caribbean Spanish has no space bar and the consonants are too smooth to tell the difference from one another. Then again, Caribbean Latinos have said that my northern Mexican accent sounds like I'm verbally punching the Spanish language.

ChemicalBonus5853

And we can communicate using 0 verbs 🇨🇱🔛🔝

piwkeche

Hi, I'm from Chile and let me say you that your examples could be more tricky in the barrios, like: Tení becomes tiní, "te lo voy a dártelo" becomes "te lo oy a ártelo", and "me voy a irme" becomes "moy a irme". Besides, coprolalia is present in each sentence, and a lot of words mean others, like: ship for car, bread for ass, katimbas for sneakers, and weá for everything.

patiperro_v3

This guy knows Chilean. Where did you learn?

TorstenJoaoFalcao

Those examples are typical from lower classes and uneducated Chilean, the average Chilean don't use "Te lo voy a dartelo" or "me Voy a irme".

chadlyalan

Omg after living in Chile for two years and as someone who grew up in California, I now understand why my brain has the desire to make double pronouns for no reason... Now I can tell my brain to stop that lol

windrunner1711

Me destruye el "te lo voy a dartelo" y eso que digo: "Me voy a ir yendo"

casalelu

Mexican here too. You must be gifted cuz I can't catch a word from Chileans lol

cochorol

They go easy on you... That's for sure

guantamanera

Ditto. Mexican and have no trouble understanding Chileans. I have more trouble understanding some Caribbean Spanish but after a 15 minute conversation my brain tunes in and have no trouble.

SaGlamBear

Hahah that’s the perfect way to put it. Just got to tune to a different frequency to understand 😹

mamf60

Mexican here, you are wrong

theaviationhistorian

I don't see it either. I've always understood Chileans far better than a few Argentinean and leagues above Caribbean Latinos.

R0MARIO

Culiao conchetumare po

Sombra_Griss

Así no es

EnvironmentalRent495

VivaLaEmpire

Ahhhhh no manches, si es cierto! Que chingon 😂

gandiesel

Me encanta esta analogía

Proud-Economics1594

I studied & lived in Santiago for 6 months. The Chilean modísmos is what got me lol One clue that helps identify Chilean accent is when they pronounce words that start with "ch." Instead of a hard "Chile" and "chico," the "ch" is lightly pronounced & sounds more like "Tsile" and "tsico."

patiperro_v3

You spent time with upper class Chileans then. Tsile = upper class accent Shile = lower class accent

Proud-Economics1594

That makes a shit ton of more sense 🤣

Amrod96

Una vez vi una película colombiana, La vendedora de rosas. Está grabada en el dialecto de Medellín. Tuve que poner subtítulos porque por mucho tiempo que pasara, seguía sin enterarme. Hay dialectos de español complicados, pero fue la única que vez que tuve la impresión que realmente era otro idioma.

Puzzleheaded_Win_989

Argentina needs to be a shade of blue as well

Neonexus-ULTRA

Super saishashin.

No-Difficulty-4645

Aguante Argentina papaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!Y el que diga lo contrario se la comeeeeeeeee

pastelconnutellayclo

Meteor_Boom

I love my slang! I can blame in “chilean spanish” louder in the country where I living (Toronto), and only a Chilean should understand me.

DispiritedRaspberry

Toronto no es un país pero entiendo lo que tratas de decir 😆

Potential-Sundae-596

Exodustr1024

anchoviette

Sorry guys but Chilean is much more understandable than Paraguayan

ForwardFox4536

paraguayans mix spanish with guarani so its not full spanish

Lunxr_punk

This is a feature of a lot of spanish dialects, central Mexico and Guatemala use Nahuatl words, south east ads Maya, Michoacán adds purepecha, Peruvians use Quechua and others

k815

Weones culiaos

RW721

You aren't ready for Equatorial Guinea's Dialect

Southern-Gap8940

It sounds like they copied Madrid's accent with a few African words

casalelu

It's easy to understand for me.

Lunxr_punk

They actually speak super clearly, its like easier to understand Spain Spanish

GrizzlyRiverRampage

Y peor q chilenos no se dan cuenta! Huevones.

patiperro_v3

Nos damos cuenta, es solo que no queremos que nos entiendan. Si se necesita, es fácil de neutralizar. Lo he probado en terreno y no se han percatado de que soy Chileno.

GrizzlyRiverRampage

Decepción!

cochorol

Chucha!!!!

vicktoriatdl

Uruguay, Bolivia, Paraguay are messy too... open your months please! haha

Iceblader

Just say "la wea" every sentence and you'll be fine.

gui_odai

French being easier to understand (to someone who never studied it) might be a bit of a stretch, but yeah, it's definitely a challenge to understand those Chileans

panxit0

As a Bolivian it really depends on the location half of us are even harder to understand than Chilean

rubrent

Sometimes it’s like they aren’t saying the entire word only part of the word like slang. Cubans are also difficult for me to understand….

Killer_Helpy_2036

Cachai?

Direct-Ordinary-62

No mames weon, los bolivianos no tenemos identidad x,d

Ill-Map-9288

Tan lameculos de los gringos van a ser que en este sub escriben en ingles?

lagmanmx

El sub se llama Latino "People"...

anhydrous_echinoderm

Escribir en ingles = lambeculos de los gringos ?? Vete a chingar a tu madre, stupid ass.

Lunxr_punk

Si eres me cae

VivaLaEmpire

En este sub pueden escribir francés si se les da la gana. Los latinoamericanos hablan muchos idiomas. Si un colombiano quiere venir a escribir italiano, que lo haga. No somos la gestapo pa andar limitando lo que la gente quiera decir, como y en qué idioma.

paezaurio

Apoyo la moción con toda violencia

assfacekenny

Hay mas Latinos en gringolandia que todos los países de LatAm (excepto Mexico y Brasil).

5PalPeso

Nacidos en Latino América? O "latinos" americanos
