Estan hablando sandeces, indecentes penetrados.
Mexican here. I don’t really see the big struggle. Yes it’s unique and sometimes hilarious but I’ve seen movies shows and talked to friends in Chile. They just have a couple different words and they eat a lot of letters but other variants of Spanish do that too.
Ther is a Chilean accent that is closer to neutral and not so hard to understand, and then there is this: https://youtu.be/otDhTyaom84?si=1dQYByE48KXMpl86
Yeah that’s true. My friends are from Santiago. I am from a bigger city in Mexico too (not cdmx). The more rural you get or more uneducated the more “different” it is I guess. That applies to us too. I think my Chilean friends probably would understand that YouTube video 100% and I maybe understood 50-60% too but if you interviewed a random criminal under arrest in Zacatecas or Guanajuato, a Chilean would probably struggle to understand too.
My parents are from a tiny rural area of México. This isn't some tough accent it's due to a lack of education and adaptation of words from local indigenous dialects or languages.
The thing with chilean spanish is that their text-to-speech lacks the space bar, the letter D, the CH is pronounced SH, accents just go wherever and many times E is replaced by I
Bro I’m Cuban we go fast, the D in the last syllable of any word doesn’t exist. Yet I find issues keeping up with pure unadulterated Chilean.
They change the conjugations and double pronouns.
Like Tienes becomes tení and podrias becomes podriai
Or Like “Te lo voy a dar” becomes “Te lo voy a dartelo” and “me Voy a ir” becomes “me Voy a irme”
Personally, some Cubans are difficult to understand. I met one several years ago through some soccer friends, he was a great player by the way, but holy fuck when I first met him and heard him speaking to another Cuban, I swear to god I thought he was speaking Arabic. Till this day, when he speaks to me, I only catch a few words and the rest I'm just nodding my head "ah si."
For me, Caribbean Spanish has no space bar and the consonants are too smooth to tell the difference from one another. Then again, Caribbean Latinos have said that my northern Mexican accent sounds like I'm verbally punching the Spanish language.
Hi, I'm from Chile and let me say you that your examples could be more tricky in the barrios, like:
Tení becomes tiní, "te lo voy a dártelo" becomes "te lo oy a ártelo", and "me voy a irme" becomes "moy a irme". Besides, coprolalia is present in each sentence, and a lot of words mean others, like: ship for car, bread for ass, katimbas for sneakers, and weá for everything.
Omg after living in Chile for two years and as someone who grew up in California, I now understand why my brain has the desire to make double pronouns for no reason... Now I can tell my brain to stop that lol
Ditto. Mexican and have no trouble understanding Chileans. I have more trouble understanding some Caribbean Spanish but after a 15 minute conversation my brain tunes in and have no trouble.

I studied & lived in Santiago for 6 months. The Chilean modísmos is what got me lol One clue that helps identify Chilean accent is when they pronounce words that start with "ch." Instead of a hard "Chile" and "chico," the "ch" is lightly pronounced & sounds more like "Tsile" and "tsico."
*Have you all listen*
*To a Venezuelan speak*
*When they are mad? Lol*

This is a feature of a lot of spanish dialects, central Mexico and Guatemala use Nahuatl words, south east ads Maya, Michoacán adds purepecha, Peruvians use Quechua and others
French being easier to understand (to someone who never studied it) might be a bit of a stretch, but yeah, it's definitely a challenge to understand those Chileans
Estan hablando sandeces, indecentes penetrados.
lol, my mom works as an interpreter. She has both Spanish and Chilean Spanish listed under her skills, I never understood why until now.
You could’ve asked her all this time
He did but didn't understand her answer

Chilean here, that could very well be a criminal from Santiago. Nothing about that slang is regional.
Let’s try. Send me a youtube link.
why did you send a video of a cantonese guy
My parents are from a tiny rural area of México. This isn't some tough accent it's due to a lack of education and adaptation of words from local indigenous dialects or languages.
Something something Antigua something something
this, to me sounds like what someone pretending to speak spanish would sound like
Is like if you kick a can of soda for a while
The thing with chilean spanish is that their text-to-speech lacks the space bar, the letter D, the CH is pronounced SH, accents just go wherever and many times E is replaced by I

This guy knows Chilean. Where did you learn?
Those examples are typical from lower classes and uneducated Chilean, the average Chilean don't use "Te lo voy a dartelo" or "me Voy a irme".
Omg after living in Chile for two years and as someone who grew up in California, I now understand why my brain has the desire to make double pronouns for no reason... Now I can tell my brain to stop that lol
Mexican here too. You must be gifted cuz I can't catch a word from Chileans lol
They go easy on you... That's for sure
Ditto. Mexican and have no trouble understanding Chileans. I have more trouble understanding some Caribbean Spanish but after a 15 minute conversation my brain tunes in and have no trouble.
Hahah that’s the perfect way to put it. Just got to tune to a different frequency to understand 😹
Mexican here, you are wrong
I don't see it either. I've always understood Chileans far better than a few Argentinean and leagues above Caribbean Latinos.

You spent time with upper class Chileans then. Tsile = upper class accent Shile = lower class accent
That makes a shit ton of more sense 🤣

I love my slang! I can blame in “chilean spanish” louder in the country where I living (Toronto), and only a Chilean should understand me.

Sorry guys but Chilean is much more understandable than Paraguayan
paraguayans mix spanish with guarani so its not full spanish
This is a feature of a lot of spanish dialects, central Mexico and Guatemala use Nahuatl words, south east ads Maya, Michoacán adds purepecha, Peruvians use Quechua and others

You aren't ready for Equatorial Guinea's Dialect
It sounds like they copied Madrid's accent with a few African words
It's easy to understand for me.
They actually speak super clearly, its like easier to understand Spain Spanish
Y peor q chilenos no se dan cuenta! Huevones.
Chucha!!!!
Uruguay, Bolivia, Paraguay are messy too... open your months please! haha
Just say "la wea" every sentence and you'll be fine.
French being easier to understand (to someone who never studied it) might be a bit of a stretch, but yeah, it's definitely a challenge to understand those Chileans
As a Bolivian it really depends on the location half of us are even harder to understand than Chilean
Sometimes it’s like they aren’t saying the entire word only part of the word like slang. Cubans are also difficult for me to understand….
Cachai?

O "latinos" americanos
