LOL at my last comment. I should have said LESS damage. I don't want to be hit with that thing! Otherwise it looks really good. How did you do the cuts? I'm interested in laser cutting leather.
1. That’s not a whip, it’s a flogger.
2. It’s not really much of a flogger either, more like one of those small/novelty floggers that Extreme Restraints throws in when you buy more than $100 of stuff.
3. The grip of a flogger is called a handle, or shaft.
4. The handle of a flogger is usually *plaited*, meaning it has a braided covering.
5. The straps of leather (for impact) are called falls.
So, let’s try again: are you pointing out that the handle is not plaited, or that the falls are not braided? And what are you saying is stiff, the falls? What type of leather did you use?
It’s pretty leather, and nicely made, but I wouldn’t put much more effort into anything of this size. It’s not a tool for doms or sadists, it’s a novelty item that’ll titillate some folks at a bridal shower for a few minutes and get thrown in a closet forever. If/when you get into making larger floggers for the kink community, that’s when you want to start putting more intentional choices into the craftsmanship, like plaiting the handle, turks head knots on the heel and butt, balancing the flogger with weights in the handle, etc.
Here are the tips to immediately improve your product:
1. Braid the shaft, cap with a Turks head knot.
2. Give your flogger some interest by cutting the tips of the falls ANY OTHER WAY than straight across horizontally. Give them a chevron tip, or a slant, a cute rounded tip, but no more straight across okay?? It’s just boring!
3. Add decorative and functional hardware
4. Play with different handle shapes/styles… (I hate the straight rod dowel look after making so many)
5. Hit & be hit with your products, you must test them to understand the benefits and disadvantages of certain design elements!!
Good luck XX
Only braid when you're using an extremely soft suede. The harness leather that you've used will be best unbraided. I would, however, treat it with conditioner and work the leather until it's well broken in. Otherwise it will have a tendency to cut whomever it's used on.
Braided causes too much harm with the sharp bends in the leather. Leave as is so that the dom doesn't do any permanent damage.
Thank you for your suggestion!!!

Every sub needs a punkassjim
Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear Strong Bad masks.
I SAID CONSUMMATE V'S
This is so wonderfully, deliciously pedantic. I love it.
Thank you for your guidance. I mean the falls are braided or not.
How do you cut the laces? Asking for a friend... Lol
What? I can't understand your words.
The long parts. How did you cut them so perfectly?
Likely a strap cutting jig.
Yes, a cutting machine.
Different strokes for different blokes.
I agree with you, but I want to hear more voices, which can make my products be better.

Detailed suggestions! Thank you so much.
I think at this length, braided ones would just feel like a solid thunk as opposed to a whip.

Thanks!! I'll do it!
What leather did you use?
