Someone nominated you as the driver. That doesn’t necessarily mean they have your driving licence details- they could simply have your name and address. The police will make enquiries with whoever nominated you. They may or may not get back in touch with you. But for you to be thinking of suing an agency is several steps down a very specific path that could be entirely incorrect. So for now just hold your horses and wait to see what comes of it.

for someone to know my name and address is already a lot as i'm foreigner in UK and i don't walk around sharing those details. All I'm saying is that is kinda hard to get any details as i don't really receive paper letters or other correspondence. i am registered with few employment agencies and that happened now after i shared photos of my licenses with them. "But for you to be thinking of suing an agency is several steps down a very specific path that could be entirely incorrect" - i'm aware of that but all i'm asking is hypothetically what i can really do? Some of those agencies employees know that i work for more than one agency (currently it's 8 or more) and they might took advantage of it. and IF they did how i could find out who was it and for which agency that person work?

NAL Have you responded back to the NIP yet?

uaciaty0

i did call police number on NIP and explained that i have no connection to the car whatsoever

pinkurpledino

You MUST respond to the S172 request. I.e: You do not own that car, and were not driving it on that date and time. If there is no S172 request for driver details, but just a NIP, is it possible someone used your details at a roadside stop? Also see [www.ftla.uk](http://www.ftla.uk) for further advice.

i called phone number on NIP and police told me that i do not have to send it back. They said that my explanation over phone was enough and i'm clear but there is S172 so will send it back

justsomerabbit

In case for whatever reason you don't send it back: make a written note of time and date and what was said during the phone call to give yourself some contemporary evidence. Then keep the note for 7 months.

Ahead of you mate. Have call recordings for ages on my phone since agencies keep saying one thing and doing other 😁 But thanks, good advice

It looks like you're asking a question about a parking or speeding fine! You may benefit by posting on the relevant [FreeTraficLegalAdvice forum](https://www.ftla.uk/index.php) or reading [Parking Cowboys](https://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk/), which specialise in these matters, in addition to LegalAdviceUK. *We aren't affiliated with the above and they should only be used as informal guidance in advance of speaking to a legal professional.* *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. > I never been where offence was committed. > Backstory. I'm hgv driver Were you at work when the offence happened? If you're a HGV driver then you would have been tracked, and it would be very easy to prove you didn't do it.

uaciaty0

No, i wasn't at work. But that's not the point of this thread. Access to my personal details here is the issue
