+1 for The Player

AliceKatharine

I was coming here to say Singin' in the Rain! ![gif](giphy|BmQPKjwhScjdK)

Typical_Humanoid

Well of course we talk, don't everybody? :D

[deleted]

Hail Caesar is massively underrated

Typical_Humanoid

It's honestly my favorite movie of theirs from that decade, but it's *always* lower than the others in Coen brothers rankings. Never have gotten it.

Yessir, Brad Pitt was so tragic 🥲

Mister_Moony

About 30 minutes longer than it shouldve been and most of the climax with Toby couldve been cut, but other than that it was an instant classic. The whole "camera and sound" sequence had me rolling in the aisles wheezing with laughter. Especially when Bolin from Legend of Korra said "Who the fuck sneezed!?"

Being John Malkovich is about actors acting as normal people acting like an actor who in reality is acting like those actors

doctorweiwei

Indirectly, but you might enjoy the Julia Roberts scene in Oceans 12

[deleted]

I think that bit is super funny. But it(and most of the movie) is ruined a little bit by the twist of the film.

Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre. Guy Ritchie directed - Josh Hartnet is great, rest of the cast is also great and the movie is pretty funny/good. I think you'll dig it

Two films with Peter O’Toole fit this bill: MY FAVORITE YEAR and THE STUNT MAN. Both very funny (MFY is more light while Stunt Man is more satirical) and O’Toole was Oscar nominated for both.
