I live in Arizona and work as a probation officer on the Navajo Nation (I am a white man, for context).
This movie hit me hard, and it's messaging is very true. Native Americans are a largely ignored demographic with a huge number of unreported/ignored crimes and limited access to resources.
I saw this movie in theaters and feel it was robbed during the awards cycle (though they never pick the best movies anyway)
Agreed 100%. I had never heard of it before and stumbled across it on one of the streaming services when doom scrolling. The only reason I started it was because I saw it had Renner and Olsen in it, after seeing them together in the Marvel movies for years. It was such a damn good movie.
POSSIBLE SPOILER
I only saw it once in theaters and really liked it. I remember my only gripe about it, which I might not have an issue with if I saw it again, was that, for a story about trying to figure out who committed the crime, it seemed like there was zero misdirection, or other possible suspects. It seemed like it was the person they thought it was from the very beginning.
I might be remembering it wrong, and, like I said, it might not be an issue if I saw it again, but it just kinda surprised me how direct it was when I saw it.
So it was a draw between this and Elysium so I narrowed it down to the film that had the least FANS and it's this:

My most obscure 4.5: Dangerous Encounters of the First Kind with 7.2k
Hey, same! My three least popular five stars are all Asian films, and they all probably would find a place in my Top 10 all time.
* A Touch of Zen (1971)
* Throw Down (2004)
* Mahjong (1996)
Love Dangerous Encounters.
I need to revisit Thrown Down. I love tons of Johnnie To movies but for some reason, Throw Down didn’t do it for me on first viewing.
I fucking love Throw Down. It’s one of my most favorite films as well and the Criterion release is definitely worth it if you are a big fan of the movie.
These are on bottom of the popularity scale, apparently. Funnily enough, A Chinest Ghost Story and The Mission (1999) both have a permanent place in my top 10. But I love all of these (hence 5 stars lol)

I watched it numerous times over the years, just kind of bought it randomly as a teen because I liked John Woo and Takeshi Kitano, and the editing and pacing is just so wonderful. Also I think that the soundtrack has been imprinted permanently in my memory :)
I just love monster movies and I feel that it was the best one I've seen that has that atomic age kind of feel. It's very enjoyable and I love the giant ants. I think I was predisposed to like that kind of movie because even as a kid, I loved Tarantula (1955) already.

Sharing my bottom 4 for this one because it truly encapsulates my four loves: Harryhausen, Star Trek, Godzilla, and Elizabeth Taylor
It's *Big Trouble* (2002), and I'll never shut up about it. That film is a comedy goldmine that was ruined by 9/11 because the last 1/3 of the film shits all over airport security and was scheduled to come out on 9/21/2001.

I saw this in theater on a Monday and was the only person there. I was only paying half attention until that scene on the porch when Corey (Renner) talks about grief - from that moment on I was completely gripped.
This is truly an incredible film

I still love all of what Neil Breen does, but in my opinion it's all been downhill since Fateful Findings. That one was peak Breen, but after it it's almost like he's a little too in on the joke. The horrible beard for his twin, all the "Breen Screen" effects... it's just too on the nose now
That said I'll still watch each one and love them, I just think we're in a weaker Breen era where he knows he can do dumb stuff and get away with it, where as in the past he was genuinely trying to make things legitimately good but couldn't
Without a doubt Fateful Findings is his best work. That said, I was lucky enough to watch Cade in a sold out theater and it was one of the best movie going experiences I’ve had. More Breen is never a bad thing!
Least popular as in least reviewed, or lowest reviewed? For the first, King Vidor's The Crowd (1928). 14k reviews so, obviously not like an unknown movie, hugely influential. For lowest reviewed, it's Groundhog Day (1992) with a 3.8, also still pretty high - I think maybe people are unwilling to give it a higher score because it's not a serious/prestige kind of movie
Jack and Jill (2011). Yes Ikik but that is one of Adam Sandler’s best movies

Domino - Tony Scott’s 2005 trashterpiece that brings me so much joy
I just watched the serenade scene of The Tale of the Fox, the stop motion is incredible. Definitely going to watch the whole thing. Thanks for the amazing suggestion!
I was surprised to see that my least popular 5-star is *Iron Jawed Angels*. I guess it shouldn't surprise me because it's a 20-year-old made-for-TV movie by HBO, but it's so good.
It has a great cast with Hilary Swank, Frances O'Connor, Anjelica Huston, Julia Ormond, Brooke Smith, and Patrick Dempsey. The film is about the women's suffrage movement in the United States. It specifically focuses on Alice Paul and Lucy Burns, who went against the established suffrage groups at the time, which were more timid, and advocated for more confrontational ways of advancing the movement. In my opinion, it's one of the best performances of Hilary Swank's career.
https://preview.redd.it/i4l42lh6zgyc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a030da38087c7f51ac97e2af9432330c3377a02
Feels like nobody has seen this film but I absolutely adore it.
my least popular non-TV Show is the Over The Garden Wall pilot "Tome of the Unknown", but if you want feature-length, it's The Human Condition III: A Soldier's Prayer
*The Rocking Horse Winner* (1949)
https://preview.redd.it/forajhoe6hyc1.jpeg?width=570&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8be2fc1129eb9079f0fdaa6f72efc32b4e65156
Superb, post-war British supernatural drama, about a boy who discovers he has the ability to predict horse race winners when he rides his wooden rocking horse. Based on a short story by D.H. Lawrence.
Unironically, and not counting short films? Oliver Stone's Nixon. My pick for his best film, and probably my favorite character study film in general. The way the cinematography reflects the protagonist's state of mind is incredible, the script is brilliant, and the cast all deliver phenomenal performances. Obviously Anthony Hopkins is the highlight, but Joan Allen, Paul Sorvino, Powers Boothe are similarly spectacular. The scene featuring Sam Waterston as Helms (only in the director's cut, the definitive version of the film) is one of my favorite scenes. And I almost forgot to mention John Williams' score! What a complete package this movie is.

assuming it only has 1.3k cuz no one knows it’s on letterboxd this is definitely not an obscure concert
Wind River is a pretty popular film, i fucking loved every second especially the crazy shootout scene
Funny enough i heard they’re making another movie 🤷♂️
This is Where I Leave You. Honestly shocked, I think it’s amazing and a must watch for any fan of anyone in it. the first and last five minutes are derivative as shit but the rest more than makes up for it
The least popular movie that I have given five stars is Snake Eyes (1998), but the least popular thing on Letterboxd that I've given five stars is not a movie; it is Alice In Chains: MTV Unplugged
Knight of Cups. It just resonated with me especially when I lived In LA. Plus I love Terrence Malick.

The Maiden - unfortunately it’s literally impossible to watch atm unless you live in Indonesia
Skinamarink is a 5 stars for me... People hated that movie when it came out and I didn't even watched it on the theater because didn't had the chance to but when watched it at home I almost shat my pants... In my humble opinion the reason why I got scared throughout that film is it takes me back to my childhood days where you will get all these weird ass nightmares and you just wish you can just escape that dream.. I get why some people didn't liked the film but if you can relate to it I think it can get to you

Can't imagine many others gave Fresh, Beerfest, Murder Party and the Transformers animated movie five stars.
Yes, I think Fresh is better than Pulp Fiction
Wind River is a fucking great movie.
I live in Arizona and work as a probation officer on the Navajo Nation (I am a white man, for context). This movie hit me hard, and it's messaging is very true. The asshole at the end of this movie trying to justify what he did because it’s boring up there is rage inducing.
I love it, Jeremy Renner was acting for real
Agreed 100%. I had never heard of it before and stumbled across it on one of the streaming services when doom scrolling. The only reason I started it was because I saw it had Renner and Olsen in it, after seeing them together in the Marvel movies for years. It was such a damn good movie.
That standoff with the guards is intense!
One of the best I've ever seen.
I'm never bored on a rewatch. Little things jump out each time. It's so good for what it is, even with the valid criticisms of characterizations.
People don’t believe me when I say how good this is.
POSSIBLE SPOILER I only saw it once in theaters and really liked it. I remember my only gripe about it, which I might not have an issue with if I saw it again, was that, for a story about trying to figure out who committed the crime, it seemed like there was zero misdirection, or other possible suspects. This is always my answer. I have no idea why people don’t like it. IT’S EMBARRASSIN’
I loved Don Jon, but to be fair Joseph Gordon Levitt is my favorite actor so I am biased.

The Mission is great. I love it when gangster guys in Johnnie To movies just hang out and do incredibly mundane stuff. The mall shootout was also cool
I watched it numerous times over the years, just kind of bought it randomly as a teen because I liked John Woo and Takeshi Kitano, and the editing and pacing is just so wonderful. Also I think that the soundtrack has been imprinted permanently in my memory :)
THEM was crazy for the time. Played totally straight too. Plus the detective story side of things. I solidly enjoyed it, 3.5 for me.

Bias answer is league of gentlemen’s apocalypse but I gave 1985 (2018) a 5 ⭐️ and it has 6.5k watches
resident evil death island
I really like this movie too!
Looks like Minding the Gap (2018) at 58k watched on LB
Waterloo (1970)
"One Cut of the Dead" - I've never come across a single other person who has watched it (or even heard of it). Also, Wind River was fantastic!
I also gave One Cut of the Dead 5 stars, one of my all time favourites. No film has ever surprised me so much with how it came together.
The Seven Kittens
Miami Vice (2006) With Colin Farrel and Jamie Foxx; one of the best action movies i seen
Humanity and Paper Balloons (1937)
It Came From Hollywood (1982). A bunch of comedians perform in wraparound segments, championing scifi and horror camp from the 50s and 60s
Mighty Ira (2020)

The least popular title that I've given 5 stars is a short: the Looney Tunes cartoon "High-Diving Hare". For feature films: Local Hero.
The Ancient Woods has a single "fan" on Letterboxd. Gave it 5 the other day, it's a beautiful no-narration nature documentary.

As much as I generally dislike Jeremy Renner’s acting, I actually did enjoy this one.
Fun fact; this was one of the last movies distributed by Harvey Weinstein before the sex scandal

One of my favorite Westerns.
my least popular non-TV Show is the Over The Garden Wall pilot "Tome of the Unknown", but if you want feature-length, it's The Human Condition III: A Soldier's Prayer
I only have 14 movies that are 5 stars. The least popular one is Cinema Paradiso (4th on my all time list)
The LEGO Ninjago Movie
Brooklyn Finest by Anton Fuqua
Underrated film
*The Rocking Horse Winner* (1949) https://preview.redd.it/forajhoe6hyc1.jpeg?width=570&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8be2fc1129eb9079f0fdaa6f72efc32b4e65156 Superb, post-war British supernatural drama, about a boy who discovers he has the ability to predict horse race winners when he rides his wooden rocking horse. Based on a short story by D.H. Lawrence.
Last movie I rated 5 stars is Challengers. It's also the first film of the year I've given 5 stars
Watchmen and Death Proof share that place for me
The Canary Effect Incredibly documentary. It's been uploaded on YouTube for free too, otherwise it has gotten far too little recognition.
https://preview.redd.it/16t3fk4kchyc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b055c22a36c13bf913aa9063d085c14fbb047786
The Invisible Man (2020)

Kenji Mizoguchis masterpiece Osaka Elegy and Peter Greenaways Baby of Macon
It’s probably either Vanya on 42nd St or The Gunfighter.
Slappy and the Stinkers
This Is Where I Leave You (2014)
For me, it's apparently a tie between "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" and "Blazing Saddles" (both at an average rating of 3.8 on Letterboxd).
Larry (2022) https://preview.redd.it/xkkzxxfn2iyc1.jpeg?width=930&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4cbe9b4136b93d668aa66555a86e8913ce3bdd4b

3-way tie between The Village, Piglet's Big Movie, and The Door in the Floor. All rated 3.3 stars and I gave them all 5 stars.
[https://boxd.it/d0zA](https://boxd.it/d0zA) Stalked by my Doctor You won't understand until you watch it, Eric Roberts 😂
Underrated masterpiece https://preview.redd.it/lodbd7km4iyc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7b806e2f4b2b5b6e2ffc8df733e07d359dbbfe7
Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem (6.2k watched). It is also my #2 favourite of all time at the moment.
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
https://preview.redd.it/38j282tlaiyc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=008235ee19b9e1f3372831bbc8238f312aefe5f9 assuming it only has 1.3k cuz no one knows it’s on letterboxd this is definitely not an obscure concert
That movie is incredible and I do not know if I could watch it a second time. Absolutely five stars.
Wind River is a pretty popular film, i fucking loved every second especially the crazy shootout scene Funny enough i heard they’re making another movie 🤷♂️
Trainwreck
This is Where I Leave You. Honestly shocked, I think it’s amazing and a must watch for any fan of anyone in it. the first and last five minutes are derivative as shit but the rest more than makes up for it
Killing Them Softly is a 5/5’er for me, and it only gets better with age. I hope more people continue to come around to it.
The least popular movie that I have given five stars is Snake Eyes (1998), but the least popular thing on Letterboxd that I've given five stars is not a movie; it is Alice In Chains: MTV Unplugged
Knight of Cups. It just resonated with me especially when I lived In LA. Plus I love Terrence Malick. https://preview.redd.it/kx4gul3zliyc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b27de6ab0cc5f7bc568c9ba6d2ab6291374d3b0
Blue is the Warmest Color. I get it, the production was problematic and arguably the sex scenes are too long, but it's a beautiful movie.

*Henry & June*
This is not a burial, it's a resurrection. Letterbox'd shows 8k ratings for it, so I guess this would be the least popular of mine.
Best ending of a movie
Hellzapoppin
Killer bean Forever But for movies that actually got theatrical releases: Prince of Egypt (Also my #1)
https://preview.redd.it/wnx5sw4uojyc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5cb6ae1eab6e4716ed640405963bd664aa7cbc0 This one for sure
I grew up on a ranch in Wyoming near the Windriver mountains. This movie is accurate af.
Semi pro
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly Still one of the most impactful movies I’ve seen but it’s also just an amazing movie.
zero day , only 14k views on letterboxd but its rather popular in the tcc 🤷🏻♀️
Wind River was my #2 film the year it was released. Sad it is not considered popular.
This movies amazing
Human Centipede 2 (2011) it randomly came on TV one night and I thought it was a dark comedy masterpiece, really surprised when I found out how poorly rated it is.
3 Zimmer / Küche / Bad, 1,1k Watches and I weote the only 5* review
The General(1926) It's a silent film. I can see why that's not popular.
https://preview.redd.it/m9m1xg190lyc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09bc1842f0f4df90853ec659f11494df9454bc53 The Maiden - unfortunately it’s literally impossible to watch atm unless you live in Indonesia
the living end (1992)
The Hero (1966)
That flanking me scene is intense
Skinamarink is a 5 stars for me... People hated that movie when it came out and I didn't even watched it on the theater because didn't had the chance to but when watched it at home I almost shat my pants... In my humble opinion the reason why I got scared throughout that film is it takes me back to my childhood days where you will get all these weird ass nightmares and you just wish you can just escape that dream.. I get why some people didn't liked the film but if you can relate to it I think it can get to you
Mine is the London 2012 opening ceremony
Incredible film

Smokey and the bandit
Malignant at 3.1 average rating which is insane because it deserves 4.0 average rating at least
Takashi Miike’s Dead or Alive 2: Birds
[heart and yummie, no contest](https://letterboxd.com/film/heart-and-yummie/)
Coming to America, Friday, and The Neverending Story.

Gotta be UHF
Microhabitat 2017
I also gave it 5/5 on Letterboxd. Excellent movie!
