Who would keep society from devolving into pure chaos without the... *#thinblueline* ^/s

GooseGooseDuck2

I remember reading some where that vendors pay a shit ton of money to have a the right to sell food at NYC parks. They probably reported her.

krackas2

Bad things often follow when rights become privileges.

Wizard_bonk

Without government who would stop you from **checks notes** “buy fruits at your own will from members of your community”?

matlockpowerslacks

Loop daddy better have had some choice words during his song.

serenityfalconfly

She should beat the shit out of them and she’ll be out of jail before the sun sets.

Anarchy

munsterbear

*police state corporatocracy

Deckard_2049

Anarcho-tyranny is more like it, cops will show up to deal with this trivial shit but call in a drive by shooting? They'll be real slow to show up, just to be sure the shooters are long gone.

Humanity_is_broken

As usual, context needed. But already you see the squatters trespassing people’s properties without any consequences

munsterbear

It was a public space.

Humanity_is_broken

What was?

gwhh

The mayor sent up!

That looks bad all the way around. A juvenile selling fruit. Participating in the capitalism and learning valuable life skills. But no the city of NY forcing the police turn it into something else. Sad

This is socialism folks. When criminals go free and unpunished, the political elite amass wealth, and inflation is high, the everyday person, the lower and middle classes, trying to make ends meet, are the only ones left for the power of the state to flex on. The lower classes are the best option for the state to make money. They are too poor to get effective representation, yet possess enough wealth for the state to collect fines and other costs. It is the exact recipe many socialist dictators have used in central and South America.

hypofeminine

No, this isn’t. The US doesn’t fully operate under socialism. There are some elements of socialism (social security, Medicare, unemployment), but barely. More funding goes towards our military. Also you’re argument against socialism is a slippery slope fallacy.

Last_third_1966

No, the USA does not. But NYC is much closer and has the right combination of ingredients for this type of outcome. And don’t worry, it’s ok to slide a little down the slope, it’s the only way to find boundaries.
