Same here. First ones I heard were In The End, New Divide, What I've Done, Numb, Burn It Down eventually The Catalyst. Not in that order because I don't remember. My favorite for the longest time and still maybe currently is Breaking the Habit, Numb, The Catalyst, the ones I first heard, and now Lost and Friendly Fire. I love all of their songs, seriously I could go on and on about this band and the songs. I really loves all their music and Linkin Park has been my favorite band since the first few songs I heard. Damn I've typed a lot and still haven't expressed how much this band means to me. They've helped me through so much as they've done with many others. I'll stop now, I've typed a lot, lol
86 here. Saw them in 01 where they basically played all of hybrid theory (and step up) because that’s all they had. Feel old af now but glad you enjoy them!
Trust me, we only found out about them first from our parents. Actually, 2013 kid got REALLY mad at me cuz I didn’t know any of the songs from A Thousand Suns
Here! Born 1800!
also seriously, what do you mean "feel there aren't many gen z fans" there are more than you think! Linkin Park isn't some indie band for goodness sake. The fan base is going strong on YouTube, TikTok, Twitter and hell, even Facebook and Reddit! The evidence is right in this sub! Gen Z knows about Linkin Park, don't make yourself feel special just because you're the only Gen Z who knows about LP.
Right here! I'll always be a diehard LP fan. It's just painful that I never got to see Chester live, or meet him ever. But that's beside the point, I'm glad to be a fan!
2007, discovered recently. I was more into thrash and death, and though LP was slow and not very interessant. Then I listened to the first songs of HT and I fell in love with.
2006. I was 6, 7 years old when I first listened on my brother’s PSP. Mom loves them, brother and sister are millennials. It runs in the fam. LP will always be my favorite band :)
02 here. the first song that i can vividly remember hearing and thinking i want to hear more of these songs was Bleed It Out, around the time minutes to midnight came out. my parents ended up getting me and my brother all the CDs and linkin park became a huge part of my childhood.
I was born in 06 so I'm Gen Z. I'd say the Millennial fanbase is larger because you guys were teens when LP were really fucking popular. There are still tons of Gen Z fans it's just that you guys don't interact with people outside your own generation too much.
ello i’m here
my dad used to listen when i was younger (when i was even more of a mega swiftie than i am now and i listened to a lot of disney (okay i still do that lmao)) and that was when i thought it was trash
now, at fourteen, almost fifteen, i listen on repeat. my dad and i just drove to iowa and i stole the aux and blared linkin park.
probably three or four of my friends listen to (i don’t have too many friends so that’s probably a quarter of so of my friends lol)
04- fell in love with them after watching the first transformers movie (possibly in theaters I was too young to remember) but I know it happened then cuz I remember being all excited for their new song in the second movie (new divide obv)
Yeah man, born 2005, I'm a confusing case my three favourites bands in order are linkin park, dr hook and slipknot buuuuut, I listen to legitimately every single genre ever besides jazz but I like bb king he's more of blues tho
2007 here. Always gonna be sad that I'll never see them live. By far my favorite band and idk of that'll ever change, the emotions in his voice are just incredible.
03 here. In highschool i listened to a few songs of lp but only a few months ago that i went deeper into lp stuff, songs, concerts etc. I regret not doing a research on them years ago and now i kinda feel i missed out on many stuff (and that's why i want them to continue making music). Right now i'm obsessed with collecting lp album and concert cds/dvds wherever i can find.
This is amazing, knowing the impact this band has and will forever have. I became a fan at 10 years old back in 2007, not because of transformers but because of the new album minutes to midnight. The song bleed it out specifically when the single first released to radio play. Seeing this just puts a genuine smile on my face.
I am gen z! And there’s a lot of linkin park fans in my age I’ve met, we exist!
My boomer dad introduced me to them by playing numb while I was in 7th grade lol.
Right here brother! Raised by millennials and my dad loved LP. He went to 3 different concerts and was planning to take me before Chester sadly passed away. I fucking love LP
2009 born fan! I've been a fan of LP since lockdown, I know the time period is short but still..
Also fam can anyone tell me the period of GenZ.
Like is it between 2000-2017?
My 16 year old daughter listens to Linkin Park somewhat regularly. She was pretty upset when Chester died. We were driving in my truck home when his death was announced.
16 here! Always liked the classics like in the end and Numb but 2 years ago actually found out how amazing this band can get. Quite some friends quite like it too but I'd be the greatest fan of them
I'm from 2009. I love Linkin Park!! Been listening to them since I was like 5. I was listening to Linkin Park at school once and my ex bf was next to me asking what I was listening to and he said I've never heard of Linkin Park. I said how the hell have you never heard of Linkin Park??? 😭 (He's an oldies, likes the Beatles) Now he likes Linkin Park and when we dated he said wow they're so new they're from this year! I said um, (not mentioning names) they're from like, 2001. He said oh, welp....uh.... at least they're popular? And I said, yes, dumb@$$, yes. (I was getting so irritated that he didn't know about it, but I got into it after my dad started listening to it since he was in college and then he always just put it on and it comes on the radio too so I heard them in the backseat) Lowkey he knew I love Linkin Park and hasn't questioned me about it but yes. P.S. I cried when Chester died, I just love his singing voice and I went into Linkin Park 24/7 everyday
My favorite is meteora and living things
2009 here, the first time heard them I was around 5 years old and I was playing guitar hero world tour and I played "What I've Done" and since then I've always liked them, Papercuts was the first vinyl I ever bought!
Do you really think they could have 40m monthly listeners on Spotify with only/mostly millennials? I personally believe that most of their fanbase is gen Z
2004 here. Diehard fan since 2017. I actually got into LP when Heavy came out in 2017 january. (or february?) However I have brothers born in 95 and 96 so I have clear memories listening to LP way before 2017
2008, Linkin Park is #1 and have listened to them literally since i was born, my mom played them all the time in the car. i think my first song was A Place For My Head but i'd have to ask her to confirm that.
2009 born, 14 right now, i love linkin park A LOT though i've yet to listen to a few of their albums.
i feel the same too but then i found a couple of people who actually listen to it in my class itself, i was shocked lol (i literally hugged one)
my only regret is that i started listening to them after 2017, so i can never relate as much as the veteran fans to their songs and stuff :/
2001 here. Been listening to them since I was a tolder and my dad took me to see them in 2012 and again in 2014. I'm forever grateful that I have parents who also listen to the same music and took me to concerts when they were able to.
Was a fan from the Minutes to Midnight concert at MSG. Loved their songs before then. Now I got my 6 yo niece listening to Numb, as she loved the Bongo Cats version of it.
Trust me they’re all over the place it’s just common place so we don’t feel the need to boast about how amazing they are and the band getting cut short when we started hitting the age to go to live shows sadly pushed LP back to where can’t really see or appreciate them the way y’all were able to 10-15 years ago
06. Linkin Park is one of my favorite bands! I liked ‘heavy’ since it came out, but I only I got into them about two years ago. I’d heard ‘what I’ve done’ growing up because of Transformers but never actually listened to the whole thing, then decided to listen to it one day and liked it, they reminded me of another band I like: Starset, so I decided to give their other stuff a listen and fell in love.
2003! i’m a few months younger than meteora. my partner and i have a sizable age gap and his brother put me on. haven’t been able to get enough of lp since. that and their mutual friend got me into korn, and those together were my gateway into metal and nu metal and now moving into goth as well. :)
2006 here, i remember crawling in my skin, numb and in the end being a really big influence in internet memes which i grew up with, i remember listening to crawling in my skin with my dad whilst he was driving me, didn't start listening to them until 2 yrs ago tho...
I was born August 31st 1999 I first got introduced to linkin park through my dad back in 2010 I heard a thousand suns as my first linkin park album then I went on to listen to the rest of their albums
2000s nu metal actually got a nice revival thanks to gen z teens discovering it and loving it. As a millenial back then it was often considered cringe or overly dramatic but genz's actually are more aware of mental health issues and can relate easily to LP's lyrics.
It actually took me to be past my mid-20s and in a deep depression to really pay more attention to the lyrics while before that I used to mostly love LP for their sound (also because hearing so many people telling me the lyrics were too emo made me internalize the idea that I shouldn't feel too represented by the message)
2010 here, I love linkin park as well as alice in chains, puddle of mudd, foo fighters (I’ve seen them live twice), red hot chili peppers, nirvana, a perfect circle, stone temple pilots and a bunch of others.
Longtime ‘07 LP fan here. Grew up on this band, but never grew away from it. Can’t explain what a profound impact they’ve all had on my life. I started collecting vinyl about 2 years ago and my first 8 were their albums. Feels like this band’s a part of me now :)
08 here, I’m in love with linkin park. Hybrid theory literally saved my life but i discovered the band because of my older brother who used to always play one step closer whenever we hung out.
Now, I think that there are less Gen alpha fans that like Linkin Park. I met with one recently and they like Weezer. Don't ask me why. Because the answer is I don't know.
2000 here and been a massive fan since I was like 6 years old. Always consider Linkin Park as my all time favorite band despite me having branched out into other groups and eras lately such as Deftones, The Smiths, The Cure, etc. Linkin Park will always be special to me and Meteora will forever be a banger! A Thousand Suns is also severely underrated imo. I understand your sentiment though. Sometimes I feel it’s uncommon to run into people my age who are also a fan such as myself but least we have this subreddit

07 here, Linkin Park is easily my favorite band, and no matter how many great bands I’ve discovered, LP has remained my favorite
86 here. Saw them in 01 where they basically played all of hybrid theory (and step up) because that’s all they had. Feel old af now but glad you enjoy them!

Born 01, LP is my favourite band. No other band/singer comes close to them for me.
I was born in 06 so I'm Gen Z. I'd say the Millennial fanbase is larger because you guys were teens when LP were really fucking popular. There are still tons of Gen Z fans it's just that you guys don't interact with people outside your own generation too much.

2006 here. A friend of mine (same age) made me discover them, and they were my 5th most listened band in the Spotify Wrapped this year
Trust me they’re all over the place it’s just common place so we don’t feel the need to boast about how amazing they are and the band getting cut short when we started hitting the age to go to live shows sadly pushed LP back to where can’t really see or appreciate them the way y’all were able to 10-15 years ago
Right here my dude. Hybrid theory was my shit. But I got shit talked A LOT in school because I listened to “screamo music” and not pop/ rap lol
1999. Thanks Transformers.
06. Linkin Park is one of my favorite bands! I liked ‘heavy’ since it came out, but I only I got into them about two years ago. 2009 and love em. Discovered them last year and have listened to pretty much their entire discography
07’ my dad introduced them to me around 5-6th grade-ish and then i got back into them and cuz he said he was gonna see them during the OML tour
I was born in 2005 and I’ve loved Linkin Park since middle school

Longtime ‘07 LP fan here. Grew up on this band, but never grew away from it. Can’t explain what a profound impact they’ve all had on my life. I started collecting vinyl about 2 years ago and my first 8 were their albums. Feels like this band’s a part of me now :)
08 here, I've been listening to Likin Park since my nine years when my father put "numb" on the car, and I still listen to it today
2003 baby. I love Linkin Park, and they were one of my first rock bands I really enjoy listening to! Started listening to them since 2017! :D
I was born in 2001, I grew up with Linkin Park's music around me. Hybrid Theory was my favorite album as a kid, and it still is.
96 here. Been a fan for as long as I can remember.
2010 here
08 here, I’m in love with linkin park. Hybrid theory literally saved my life but i discovered the band because of my older brother who used to always play one step closer whenever we hung out.
09 kid here! HIII
1999, been a fan since Hybrid Theory Era✨️
there are many, many, MANY gen z linkin park fans. ive met more gen z linkin park fans than any other generation tbqh
Now, I think that there are less Gen alpha fans that like Linkin Park. I met with one recently and they like Weezer. Don't ask me why. Because the answer is I don't know.
Born in 04, didn't start actuall listening to then until around 2018 or so, but love them tk death, .001% of listeners on spotify
