Exactly. Their most recent PDD sketches were We Got too High and Gone too Soon, but they also worked on Shrimp Tower, Get That Boy Back, and the CJ Rossitano WU segment, among many others according to the [Who Wrote What](https://www.reddit.com/r/LiveFromNewYork/comments/175xmjv/who_wrote_what_sketch_season_49_edition/?sort=new) thread. They've been busy.
Digital Shorts are from former writer Adam McKay and the guys from The Lonely Island. That's their "brand" of SNL pre-tapes. If it's not made by them, it's not a Digital Short.
Edit - [SNL's YouTube playlist of Digital Shorts](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS_gQd8UB-hICYlDzW7STHjIzJqTFvr6K&si=_AsowyH7fFaWelGj)
Notice how none are outside of that group. Because they're the only ones who create Digital Shorts.
To be honest I’m kinda surprised people are downvoting so much, though maybe it was the tone of the original post (a correction without providing any info). Digital Shorts are definitely associated with the Lonely Island so calling PDD’s films or other pretapes like Farewell Mr Bunting or Papyrus “Digital Shorts” does seem weird to me. It doesn’t seem pedantic for an SNL sub.
Right? They absolutely aren't digital shorts.
Funny to listen to TLI and Meyers podcast where they absolutely don't dunk on pdd, but they do explain that they weren't allowed to put their branding of TLI on their videos, so they used the title that McKay used.
cut to today, Nepo baby group not only gets their branding in front of the videos but also a shout-out in the opening credits!
How the turn tables.
Tbh the only thing I dislike about the opening credits about out is the lack of surprise when the pdd video comes on.
Definitely give the PDD film (I think on Amazon now) a shot, first 10 minutes very solid workaholics vibes.
And the lonely island Seth Meyers podcast is fantastic if you lived/loved SNL in the mid 2000s
im a big fan of the Seth and Lonely Island podcast (aka 4 shock jocks) and I recently found the meyers’ podcast about family trips which has a lot of snl people on it too.
Very smart to put the Andy episode inside tli & Seth podcast for sure. Didn't realize they had done that so when it came up I was like.... Wait no "🩳" my podcasts que is going crazy!
I don't think nepotism has anything to do with letting them put PDD on their videos (of course it had to do with them getting hired), I think it has to do with the COMPLETE shift in the social media landscape since TLI first started. When TLI released their first digital short, YouTube didn't even exist. And then even once it did, NBC didn't allow them/SNL to put the shorts on there. Now, I think SNL wanted nothing more than to launch the next TLI, which is why they let PDD, who already had an established YouTube presence, put their name on their SNL shorts.
^ Peacock and Prime Video seem to have an agreement where films release first on Peacock, move to Prime Video for a long time, and then come back to Peacock, and so on.
They bought the Staten Island Ferry from Pete and Colin and they're driving it to Idaho to make it into a floating Blockbuster video on the Snake River
the sketches starring them is basically what they were doing online before they got the show. i think they just got more acclimated to the show itself and writing for the cast/live sketches. rather than having sketches revolve around 3 writers and not the cast who’re “supposed to be the ones in tv.” i do miss their sketches tho!
Was watching a podcast with them, where they were discussing the responses they get from fans.
A couple fans tweeted something to the effect of, the Please Don’t Destroy skits are the only good skits on the show.
Please Don’t Destroy comically pointed out that they’re the writers on most of the skits.
I’m sure they still writing sketches but I do miss their videos badly. I’m sure whenever their next one drops, it will be amazing. Lots of pent up randomness and comedy ready to come out.
Honestly, they’ve had some hits but more often than not I find their videos underwhelming. I love their energy, and their hits are great, but they need more time to find their voice. Just my two cents
I was generally in agreement. It was a far cry from Lonely Island who weren’t consistent but did have Lazy Sunday and Natalie Raps in their first year. That said, PDD’s pre-SNL YouTube videos are a lot better. It might be a similar situation to Beck and Kyle where it will take some time to adjust to SNL’s style.
I really want to pat them on their lovable heads. I'm afraid I won't be able to control myself if I ever meet them. I will just start patting on heads.
I get the sense they're very host-dependent (for shorts). Either host knows their schtick & makes a point to do one, or they got a great idea & pitch it. Outside of that, back burner.
They boring, they're not experienced or interesting enough for their writer's room skits to land. Well that's why I think they're falling flat to me, but idk if that has anything to do with why
Idk but can only pray their absence from SNL is permanent. SNL doesn’t need them—at all. Their work doesn’t fit the core purpose of SNL, IMO, and lets face it—even if it did, their work is mid.
IMO it did because it was made up of mostly SNL people. To be honest, I had no idea that Dick in a Box, Threw It On The Ground, et al was anything other than SNL Digital Short pretape That Andy spearheaded. I learned MUCH much later about his two college buddies + him
constituting Lonely Island.
PDD is nothing at all like LI in several key ways, sorry. If I can ever be enlightened to understand why some on this sub actually think that PDD should be an SNL staple, that would be great.
Before either of those SNL used to have Saturday TV Funhouse, which was a cartoon. The idea that non-live SNL segments adhere to some kind of consistent theme or composition is news to me.
Well, I think they should focus more on their videos because the writing this season sucks. I’ve never been more bored with an SNL season and there were some pretty bad ones in the 80s. I think it’s time to retire the show.
It's been a rough season, one of the worst I can remember. Not even really enjoying Weekend Update anymore.
But the Kristen Wiig Ryan Gosling back to back episodes were some of the funniest episodes in years, hopefully Maya Rudolph and Gyllenhaal hit those heights and bring the overall quality up a little bit.
They really need big changes next week.
Decapitated. Whole big thing.

I’m pretty sure none of that is real.
You’re not real, man!
You’re not real!
Our pets heads are falling off!!!
I got worms 🪱
RFK Jr?
That’s what we’re gonna call it
Which ones Pam?
His capa was detated
I’m pretty sure none of that is real
You’re not real, man!
To shreds, you say?
Well, how is his wife holding up?
To shreds you say
They were in fact destroyed.
But they said please! 🥺
RIP. 🙏
Because they lost their virginities to a brood of praying mantis’s? Sounds about right.
Sigh.... just like Kim Kardashian when the deck at Club Aqua collapsed...
Even though the digital shorts have not aired they have gotten many sketches in as writers
Exactly. shrimp tower was lo-key one of the season's best. truly a sinking man's mozzarella stick.
It does seem rather precariously placed…
CJ Rossitano was amazing.
They don't do Digital Shorts.
A short pre-tape edited digitally, then.

I don't think you're getting downvoted because you're wrong, it's because you're being pedantic.

I was surprised too. If we don’t use the right terms, next thing you know we’ll be calling sketches “skits.” Can’t have that!
“Steve Martin wasn’t actually a cast member” “Stop being pedantic”

Sorry Adam
Busy playing Molly Shannon 2k25
Molly? Oh yeah, Shannon.
That one was well done!
They were destroyed
By you guessed it - Frank Stallone
RIP Norm. Even from the great beyond your jokes are giving me the giggles.
Or so *zee Germans* would have us believe!
Why?!? They specifically asked to “Please Don’t” do that!!!
They didn't ask pleasily enough
After they specifically asked them not to?!
good.
Is Please Do Not Destroy their more refined British version?
Thou Shan’t Destroy
Destroyn’t
… And Carry On …
Please refrain from destroying
I can’t believe you’ve destroyed this.
Nice ref
I do beseech you; destroy not!
If It’s All The Same, I Would Prefer That You Not Destroy Us
I politely request that you abstain from the act of destroying
They got fired because their dads all requested paternity tests and found out they weren’t actually related
Okay, hands in. A foot in the door but not anymore.
Two of three were un-nepo’ed.
Dakota stole their nepotism power
There can only be one
Jack McBrayer is their real dad.
Explains how they got on snl to begin with
Went on a road trip, took some unexpected twists and turns.
They missed the goddamn exit again!
It’s weird we’re seeing less of them after their movie came out.
The movie’s off Peacock streaming now too
Really? I guess it kinda makes sense given how many popular songs they used, but damn that was quick
It just moved services
When even peacock won’t stream your movie after they didn’t get it in theaters. Well, there’s a sign.
i think it just moved to prime video
^ Peacock and Prime Video seem to have an agreement where films release first on Peacock, move to Prime Video for a long time, and then come back to Peacock, and so on.
Conan as the dad was hilarious. When the dude with curly hair was wearing the big suit and they said he looks like he is at the nba draft, I cackled.
The one scene where Crank Dat starts playing, 🎵Aaahhhhhh🎵 and John says, "I just shit my pants." And the music stops fucking flooded me.
...with shit?
It’s on Amazon prime for free.
"It's not about success, it's about survival"
They melted :(
They were ingested by the daughter of a Melanie Griffith.
And Don Johnson!
And Johnson?
They quit to open a Blockbuster video in rural Idaho. They're hoping it will turn into a reality show
They bought the Staten Island Ferry from Pete and Colin and they're driving it to Idaho to make it into a floating Blockbuster video on the Snake River
They stole Joe Swanberg's VHS tapes, and he's currently pursuing them across state lines to get 'em back.
They decided to go into the music business with Hamas
Pronounced Hay-miss
Oh god, I didn’t even think of that!
IIIIIII CHEEEEEEEEATEEEED! THANKS IN ADVANCE!
Sounds like a cool frog.
They must’ve found rice for the Hamas guy’s phone.
They jumped Lorne
Jumped his bones
WITH COCK

Please Do Not Destroy doesn’t quite roll off the tongue right as a group name
Was watching a podcast with them, where they were discussing the responses they get from fans. A couple fans tweeted something to the effect of, the Please Don’t Destroy skits are the only good skits on the show. Please Don’t Destroy comically pointed out that they’re the writers on most of the skits.
Their skits are stupid
Many in history were hated for telling the truth lol
Not the least bit funny. Them getting a movie was absurd
Died on the vine. The guy moved or something.
Botched plastic surgery, broken toes from a mishap with a mousetrap, and nostrils glued shut. These things happened to all three of them.
Would love to see them do something with Vampire this week.
Yeah! Like they listened to the Olivia Rodrigo song constantly from when the show ended until the Monday meetings. Call it "research"
They decided it’s ok to destroy
Someone destroyed them?
Hopefully.
I’m sure they still writing sketches but I do miss their videos badly. I’m sure whenever their next one drops, it will be amazing. Lots of pent up randomness and comedy ready to come out.
I could speculate that they've been destroyed but (although I haven't scanned every response) I'd guess that's already been speculated. .
They got destroyed. Drank too much store-brand craft beer.
They’re writers on the show
Man their movie was so bad maybe they were embarrassed. But seriously I think they went on tour or something.
?? nah that shit was hilarious
Prison

They were fine at first but they're not funny, especially writing for the worst cast SNL has had in many many years
Aluminum….aluminum….foiiiil…..garbage can?
It's a complicated story. I wrote a song about it. 🎵Thanks in advance! 🐸🎺🥁🐸 They're STILL THERE!🎵
They got tired of being Three Sad Virgins so they’re taking some time out to explore some Momhole
They hit Michael Longfellow with their car, and the police finally caught up to them.
shootout in Miami. Ugly stuff
Good
I really want to pat them on their lovable heads. I'm afraid I won't be able to control myself if I ever meet them. I will just start patting on heads.
Cats ate their faces
You know what happened, two of them are raising a family in the suburbs and hired Woody Harrelson to replace the third.
Union
I get the sense they're very host-dependent (for shorts). Either host knows their schtick & makes a point to do one, or they got a great idea & pitch it. Outside of that, back burner.
They got too high
Okay they are back and great as always. https://youtu.be/h_PE8G0XXF4?si=JXn52r_RDpcGmyRn
Hopefully anything except making another movie
Hopefully they are gone!
They boring, they're not experienced or interesting enough for their writer's room skits to land. Well that's why I think they're falling flat to me, but idk if that has anything to do with why
They suck so hopefully they are gone. Edit: lol, god forbid anyone dislikes something on here.
Yep
Well.. I don't know what happened to Martin & John, but I mannapped Ben and is currently hiding him in my basement. 😏 Don't tell nobody 🤫
Its simple , theyre not funny
Agree.
I don't think I've laughed at any of their sketches.
