My first choice too. I hadn't heard of Nate Bargatze before that episode. Now I can't get enough of him. His deadpan delivery is perfect in that sketch. An instant classic, and we knew while watching it the first time.
I had tickets to see him, but the show was cancelled because that was the week he went on SNL.
I am happy for him and the exposure, but still disappointed in missing the show (and we had a conflict with the rescheduled show).
Favorite for sure is Nate Bargatze as George Washington.
But I want to give a shoutout to Timothee Chalamet as Smokecheddah on the hip hop 50 years panel lol. “it’s a critique about capilism! Yeah people be cappin all over the place, man!”
Okay I said Pete Davidson' I'm Just Pete but that's just a personal preference. You nailed it. George Washington is objectively the best sketch of the year.
I have gone back to this sketch a ton of times. It’s the best sketch of the season , I know beavis and butthead is more viral but orphan Cassidy is the best
This is mine, not even a question. Might be my favorite in the last three or four years. Sketch was perfect, good singing, and it just kept getting weirder. TC's alternating between scripted confusion and non-scripted slight cracking up. Even some of the peripheral touches like Chloe F's little kid voice.
Washington's Dream and Beavis and Butt-Head. Written by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell. With honorable mentions to Little Orphan Cassidy and Make Your Own Kind of Music, also written by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell with Chloe Troast and Jake Nordwind/Mike DiCenzo respectively.
I love Streeter, and how many former CollegeHumor people are killing it or have killed it in late night. Sarah Schneider was also a writer for SNL and Dan Guerwitch was a writer for John Oliver.
[People's Court ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbOYSKH8Sjk)caught me off guard

Battle of the Sexes was the first one that came to mind for me. There were better sketches this year, but I didn’t stop laughing for a solid couple minutes at those tennis hits.
So, I showed that skit to my parents, and my mom said that around 9 months before I was born, they were house-sitting for some people who had cable TV. That was when my parents used to watch Beavis and Butthead, they thought the sketch was hilarious.
I did the math, and this is a question I'd really rather not know the answer to, but I may or may not have been conceived during an episode of Beavis and Butthead....
if people consider this sketch to be their favorite of the season, i can see why i thought it was a subpar season in terms of GREAT sketches
this is NOT a great sketch. it's a sight gag sketch that doesn't really say ANYTHING beyond "hyuk hyuk, these guys look like Beavis and Butthead in the background, hyuk, hyuk". plus it's another in a long line of "we don't know how to wrap this up" sketches... because there wasn't anything inherently clever about the sketch to begin with!!!
I’m gonna have to agree with this one. The songs pop into my head often and won’t go away. I show it to my 20-something kids who think Mama Mia had its own original songs.
Surprisingly enough, I think Pongo is the one I've gone back to the most this season. I'm already a sucker for a good commercial parody, but the escalation of it all and Pongo's dead stare/alien movements hit just right for me.
Easy to have missed, and not a sketch, but the recreation of one of Maya's mom's record album covers on a commercial break bumper was heartwarming and was my favorite moment of this season. I understand that SNL had done this for her twice before.
Basically the two most popular sketches of the season: Washington’s Dream and Beavis & Butthead. Honorable mention: ABBA Christmas
Also I don’t know who is going to read this, but it’s spelled “Bargatze.” I’m seeing his name spelled wrong many times in this thread
The age of discovery
Washington’s dream
Beavis and butthead
Please don’t destroy: shrek, the roast, the jumper, ramen order, dawg food, AI with Emma stone, and we got too high
I loved scooby doo, the fashion commercial, dad eats a cookie and cicadas
Gonna get hate don’t care pls don’t destroy Sydney Sweeny regarded as the worst bit they made something about it gets me every time plus it’s the only skit I can show my nephews and they love it
Oh god aside from the Beavis and Butthead sketch, I'd have to give it to Jumanji. I couldn't stop laughing, it showcased Andrew Dismukes' weird penchant for repeating a word and making it funny (see Joker sketch from a few seasons ago), Kristen Wiig was there, and it was just so classically SNL.
It's definitely one I'll be showing to people.
Edit: if I can get a top 10: Jumanji/Ticket To Ride(Wiig), Beavis and Butthead(Gosling), Beep-Beep(Driver), The Engagement(Gosling), Airplane Song(Brolin), Stuck In The Elevator(Edebiri), Home Videos(Johnson), Woman's AA Meeting(Elordi), Gifts From Mom(McKinnon), Abba Christmas(McKinnon).
1. TT and Mario's New Album (Maya Rudolph) Cut for Time sketch
[2.Rich](http://2.Rich) Auntie With No Kids (Kate Mckinnon)
3. Trump Sneakers (Shane Gillis)
4. Shane Gillis Stand Up Monologue (Shane Gillis)
5. Close Encounter (Ryan Gosling)
6. Trump Easter (Ramy Youseff)
7. Tiny Ass Bag (Adam Driver
8. The Barry Gibb Talk Show (Dakota Johnson)
9. The Floor (Shane Gillis)
10. Immigrant Dad Talk Show (Ramy Youseff)
That's a great question.
For me it's got to be Pete Davidson singing "I'm just Pete." I've been singing that song all year long.
🎶 I'm just Pete, anyone else I'd be a 3...
Not a sketch, but I have watched CJ Rossitano meet El Diablo de los Hamptons at least once a week since it aired. Might be my favorite Sarah/Colin bit ever.
Obviously, Beavis and Butthead - but also Doctor from the same episode. And Moulin Rouge - I smile every time I hear someone sing happy birthday
Yits been…one…derwall
Yes, while the B&B sketch is an all-timer, I too revisit those sweet Cookie Crumbles.
Someone pointed out that Ryan keeps shoveling the Cookie Crumbles in Bowen's mouth and Ryan doesn't take one of the spoonfuls Bowen offers him😂
Jumanji with friends. I’m laughing as I tap. 🤣
*buttherestofJumanjiisJumanjicomesOUT*
😂
you LITERALLY CAN'T PROVE THAT
Jumanji is a series of jungle emergencies. *Jungle.Emergencies!* I was laughing to myself on the elevator yesterday night thinking about this one😆
😁
I have watched this one so many times
🙏
JUMANJI COME OUT
🤣🤣
Ok, but this isn't Jumanji. It's Ticket To Ride!
Washington’s Weights and Measurements
There’s a little kicking
You asked about the temperature…
I did not.
Sometimes one point and sometimes three…
Yes! As a Canadian I have extra appreciation for that one! 🤣
This is my answer too. But underrated from this episode: Airplane Birth, or Lawyer vs Engineer vs Teacher vs Mom.
Ok, but out of the things that are real jobs, what's the most important?
Man that one just had the feeling of instant classic all the way through.
mine as well
definitely this
I liked the BET Chef competition from the same ep, but that’s my 2nd.
Beep Beep with Adam Driver is one I keep going back to
every time i have to walk over / around my dog i say out loud "i *said* beep beep"
Let me just skooch by you real quick
Favorite for sure is Nate Bargatze as George Washington. But I want to give a shoutout to Timothee Chalamet as Smokecheddah on the hip hop 50 years panel lol. “it’s a critique about capilism! Yeah people be cappin all over the place, man!”
Skirt skirt! Clang clang!
You was in the Matrix Revolutions??
I loved him in the Troye Sivan sketch too
Seconding the George Washington.
Idk why, but Timothee as the jumper really got me with the "thanks in advance" line.
Chedda Assgettah
Okay I said Pete Davidson' I'm Just Pete but that's just a personal preference. You nailed it. George Washington is objectively the best sketch of the year.
Drip water drip splash water drip splash
Shrimp Tower
Sarah getting bopped by a bottle is objectively hilarious.
the shrimp is truly the sinking man's mozzarella stick.
Little Orphan Cassidy
the like delight of the audience when she opens her mouth and starts singing in a really low register was one of my favorite things this season!
I have gone back to this sketch a ton of times. It’s the best sketch of the season , I know beavis and butthead is more viral but orphan Cassidy is the best
“No … that can’t be it.”
😒 I think that might be it
This is mine, not even a question. Might be my favorite in the last three or four years. Sketch was perfect, good singing, and it just kept getting weirder. TC's alternating between scripted confusion and non-scripted slight cracking up. Even some of the peripheral touches like Chloe F's little kid voice.
Quinta Brunson's Traffic sketch is the only one I'd put ahead of it in recent memory
I upvoted you but I can’t remember this one? 🤨

Thank you 🙏
This is now on my YouTube playlist with the best SNL sketches ever. It's good on so many levels.
This is a great point about Mikey and Streeter. They produce some really funny stuff.
I love Streeter, and how many former CollegeHumor people are killing it or have killed it in late night. Sarah Schneider was also a writer for SNL and Dan Guerwitch was a writer for John Oliver.
Remember lizards
Charged up!!!!!
I'm a big fan of when Dismukes and JAJ are paired up for those weird duo bits
Best of Season 49: - Cold Open: Biden's Halloween (Bergatze) - Monologue: Kate McKinnon - Commercial: Rock Bottom Kings (Gillis) - Sketch: Top Chef (Bergatze) - Sketch: Jumanji (Wiig) - Sketch: Question Quest (Stone) - Sketch: Couples Interviews (Edibiri) - Music Video: Lake Beach (Bergatze) - Sketch: Beep Beep (Driver) - UPDATE: Old Timey Cigarette, Tim Scott, Christmas Joke Swap - PDD: Bad Bunny's Shrek (Bad Bunny) - Sketch: Why'd Ya Say It? (Edibiri) - Commercial: Hallmark Horror Movie (Bergatze) - Sketch: Little Orphan Cassidy (Edibiri) - Sketch: Washington's Dream (Bergatze)
oh man Lake Beach is such a good pick! a genuine bop
I love that Dave Grohl went all in for it.
[People's Court ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbOYSKH8Sjk)caught me off guard "I saw her at the club last night, brain down, ass up." "How else am I supposed to dance?!"
Bad Bunny's Shrek was so good i specifically sat down to rewatch it a couple days after because I wanted to watch it again.
I live close to a river and lake beach nails this one island people tend to gather (get wasted)
Jamaican Church if that was this season
‘Ush now child, me tryna ‘ear da good words…
"Church is Church!!!!"
I'm Just Pete, even better than the song it parodies
I have I’m Just Pete on my “chill the fuck out” playlist and it perfectly captures my mood on the days I no longer give a damn
Ayo Edebiri as the bisexual little boy And for WU it was Sarah as Colin’s son
On the count of three, say your favorite food...

Gotta go with Home Videos w/ Dakota Johnson. Great premise, plus the costumes and sets are on point. "She a hoe!"
It’s this one and it’s not even close. The look Dakota gives to Andrew during the footage of her going “I GOT THIS ASSSSSSSSS DON’T I” is platinum
Yesss that little wholesome smile kills me😆
I CAN’T BELIEVE I FORGOT THIS ONE
Make Your Own Kind of Music is a standout still because of how well it was made and hinged on everything being timed right.
Emma Stone was fantastic in this one, as well as Chloe Troast's Mama Cass.
Yes. Definitely top 3 sketch for me and doesn’t get enough love.

Omg of course the pilates one😂😂🔥
*Hey, Mama!*
Question Quest is definitely up there, Longfellow and JAJ and Punkie and Emma are so great in it
It's too obvious but Beavis and Butthead.
So, I showed that skit to my parents, and my mom said that around 9 months before I was born, they were house-sitting for some people who had cable TV. That was when my parents used to watch Beavis and Butthead, they thought the sketch was hilarious. I had no idea who Beavis and Butthead were/are, however I laughed so hard it hurt! Great choice!
Ryan Gosling was Beavis and Mikey Day was butthead. Excellent choices and incredible prosthetics
Thanks! I had never watched a Beavis and Butthead show but I found the sketch hilarious 😂
if people consider this sketch to be their favorite of the season, i can see why i thought it was a subpar season in terms of GREAT sketches this is NOT a great sketch. it's a sight gag sketch that doesn't really say ANYTHING beyond "hyuk hyuk, these guys look like Beavis and Butthead in the background, hyuk, hyuk". plus it's another in a long line of "we don't know how to wrap this up" sketches... because there wasn't anything inherently clever about the sketch to begin with!!!

Airplane Baby with Adam Driver.
this is it for me
Abba Christmas
Have rewatched this one so many times! Maya's faces kill me.
As a 66 year old female who had every Abba album, I had an appreciation for this! Great choice!
I cried, real actual tears of laughter watching that
No one in our household could keep it together for that sketch.
I’m gonna have to agree with this one. The songs pop into my head often and won’t go away. I show it to my 20-something kids who think Mama Mia had its own original songs.

Everything what y’all said but also Naked in New York from Emma Stone was excellent
I loved Chef Show.
Lake Beach from the Nate Bargatze episode.
Was Troye Sivan this season because omg
Ik this one is niche but Troye Sivan Sleep Demon was the best thing that’s ever happened to me
Bravos and Butthead for sure.
Bad Bunny w/ Colombus
Beavis and Butthead hands down.
School Hypnotist is one of my favorite sketches in years. Ayo absolutely carried it😂
