These have been the rules at basically every airport in the world for the last 20 years. Either do what you suggest. Take your make up and buy sunscreen, toothpaste, deodorant, shower gel etc in a supermarket when you arrive and share it all between the group. Or pay extra and take one suitcase between you all and put your liquids in there.

Can also buy some of that at the airport in boots and take it in the bag they give you

The limit is really 1 litre, so you can have more smaller items. Deffo just buy suncream etc when you're there. Or, you can order items to collect from the airport Boots. It'll be cheaper to pay online and collect, just make sure you select the "after security" option!

The reason it’s ten is because you can’t take more than 1 litre as well as each item being under 100ml. I reckon if it’s just one over and they all fit in the one bag you should be ok, I feel like it’s usually only eyeballed anyway. The main thing is deciding whether you’d be willing to chance it and bin something if they call you out.

A lot of makeup doesn’t really count as liquids. If it’s quite small or more of a cream I usually leave it in my carry on. Never had an issue with things like concealer, moisturiser or even liquid eyeliner. If I want something like a large sunscreen or shower gel I usually buy it in Boots after security.

It’s only 10 100ml bottles of liquid for your carry on that you take through security with you. if you check in a bag then you can take however much you want. If you’re all unable to stay below the limit on carry on, then check in one bag between you all and put all your makeup etc in it

Maybe not ALL your makeup. Imagine if that one bag goes missing and potentially having to replace all your favourite stuff! Would cost a bomb. (Can you say ‘bomb’ in an airport thread?!) You can buy all the essentials in the airport shops after security (e.g. Boots) like deodorant and suncream - it’ll probably cost a bit more than usual, but I’ve been price-gouged for suncream in Barcelona before (€20 vs. £5) and other stuff, so you might be better off grabbing it here. Enjoy your trip! 🙂

As long as they all fit in the bag and it seals they’re fine. I went last week and all they seemed concerned with was the sandwich bag sealing - I used my own clear make up case

Can also buy minis / toiletries in the airport as there’s boots once you’re through so may be worth doing that for things like toothpaste

I’ve flown from John Lennon a number of times and I’ve never put makeup in the bag just creams and perfume. I usually buy toothpaste and deodorant at location but it can be pricey sometimes.

Take a look at Boots.com, to see if you can click and collect. Manchester airport do it, and it saves a lot of weight and liquids issues. You go through security and pick it up before boarding.

Honestly never counted the amount I put in the bags and the only time I got called out on it I just shrugged and they let it through so…
