It's actually very interesting how many zoomers play FFA The Pit type maps and 1v1 build fights in Fortnite which is basically Arena shooter with building. I think Quake 3 clone with modern graphics and some zoomer silliness would fit right into the world of ADHD shooters.
Exactly. Halo type of gameplay is far more popular and easy to get into and they still didn't play it. It was a success initially and had a lot of big streamers playing it and then it died. Arena shooters are never coming back. They have 0 replayability. It's why battle bit died. It's why every cod and bf is only relevant at launch. They get boring super fast no matter how fun and exciting they were in the beginning.
battlebit was so good for like 3 weeks. It's crazy too because it's not like they did anything to ruin the game, the gameplay loop just got boring. It's built on great bones though so maybe they can do something with it

i think arena shooters suffer from the same problem as rts games. their main mode is some of the most stressful 1v1. constantly on the run, never any breaks. all popular games these days are teamgames and also have downtime to relax / shared responsibily. team modes in these games where always seen as some kind of side project
