with a lot of these kinds of scams, they try to encourage a sexual conversation in which you would be pressured into sending a nude or something along those lines. they then threaten to contact everyone in your contact list with the image if you don’t give them money. this happens all over the world, and mostly targets young people. i’m not well versed in the tactics of korean scammers, but this is a common scam in europe
I can’t provide the exact information, but an automated text-sending service platform that some comns services and telecoms were using got hacked at some point and all our phone numbers got leaked
I've got four so far:
First one said "hey oppa let's meet"
Second wanted me to pick them up from the airport at 30th.
Third was a continuation from the second saying they wanted meet me at 30th while they were in Korea.
Fourth one was an anime plot: "do you remember our promise" looking forward to meet you at 30th.
At this point, I am more interested in what plotline these people are gonna come up with, so I am kinda looking forward for their scam text.

I've went all the way with 2 of them (talked to them for like 2 months to see how they're trying to scam me, I was curious).
Basically they're trying to make you take orders on Alibaba for their shop, but then I don't know how they scam you cause I obviously refused when they asked that and they suddenly said "Oh I thought we were good friends, guess you don't want to be my friend" and then left the chat haha.
I saw it on the news, they ask you to order them stuff on Alibaba for free and some losers do and they pay you back the money plus a little more. And then you finally order a huge dollar amount and they ghost you.
They are spam messages. Kind of like the ones that go a billion dollars just got withdrawn from your account and you have to click this totally not sketchy link to fix the problem. Just block the number and delete the message.
Not from Line, but I get them on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, kakaotalk from time to time. Definitely 100% related to trying to scam you. Would never respond or click anything they send or add even

They've increased exponentially in the last few weeks. There was a data breach somewhere and they're not telling us.
