That’s why I’m fine with the pick. Rivers, Royce and Co just aren’t it. Pretty much need 2 backs to make a deep playoff run in the NFL now. Even in 2018 CJA did a good job replacing Todd, but even then the talent drop off was noticeable, CJ couldn’t hit a home run like Gurley did.
It wouldn’t surprise me if we draft a rb in the first few rounds every couple of drafts. Regardless of how our RB1 is doing having a deep young RB room is good for keeping the running game healthy.
I remember him hobbling around on the sideline early in the season before getting injured. We need a good RB2 and Ronnie Rivers isn’t the answer.
Kyren had a ton of mileage last year and Corum had a ton of mileage in his college career, together they balance out
For me i dont mind a running back there but corum seems like a carbon copy of williams. I would have like a quick back that couldve been good in the return game
That’s fair. I just don’t like seeing the argument that we already have a proven back so we don’t need anymore help. Gotta keep Kyren healthy with a solid rotation. I just hope this dude is a good pass blocking RB.
The argument is you can find RBs anywhere. They drafted Henderson in round 3, Akers in round 2, Kyren in round 5 and he’s the best out of all of them, they’ve had other guys step in and look good. I think it’s poor value for the round and team need. They’re looking for a backup RB. Could have got one in round 6 or 7 or undrafted or a vet that becomes a training camp cut and get him at a bargain.
Don't worry Rams Brother. I happen to have some inside intel that Corum owns an annual pass to Disney World. Although that might not seem like enough, I also happen to know that he was once spotted eating an orange. On a more serious note, however, maybe the Rams’ front office could use a geography lesson before their next pick. Do they even know where Florida is?
I’m only here because of Blake. I live in Ann arbor. The guy is incredible. Donates so much to the community. Is a team first guy. My 6 year old daughter wants rams stuff now because she’s obsessed with this guy. Got to meet him once and he was so nice to her. You won’t regret this pick.
That’s an awesome story! Your daughter sounds like a smart kid if she wants rams stuff. I have a 6 year old daughter who’s a rams fan but she loves cooper kupp.
Surprised, but not disappointed. It's always good to have a stable of backs and if you can have more than 1 good one, that is a major plus. I think everyone knew that the Rams were going to pick a back at some point, and this is a good one to pick.
If Corum is as good as he looked in college, the Rams are going to punish teams this year.
These days you need 2 great RBs to succeed. Ppl forget Kyren’s injury history.
Plus, did you see how many TDs this dude scored? You think our red zone troubles in 2023 prompted this pick?!
I think we're missing the offseason plan here. We heavily re-invested with IOL and blocking TE. We are going to run the football. When he went down after his monster showing vs. AZ, we went 1-3(barely took Seattle by 1 point). We scored 14.25 PPG during that stretch. He came back and we averaged 31.3 PPG and our only loss was a tough one vs a very stacked Baltimore team in OT. Point is we succeeded with a running attack people feared and a healthy Stafford.... and they go hand in hand. How big of a complaint was not getting in the endzone last year.... and people are turning up their nose at a guy that scored TWENTY-SEVEN rushing TDs last year. If McVay likes it, I love it. Go RAMS!

The Rams offence runs through the run game look how bad we were when Williams went down compared to when he came back l. This give us a short yardage back with great vision always falls foward that can hit the homerun aswell. Great 2nd option if Williams goes down will also be able to take some carries off him so he stays rested and injury likely hood goes down. Corem was project in the 2nd round in a lot of drafts and fell down fo probably views it as a steal l.
Not disagreeing. But my issue is that, while a better RB#2 than Rivers is important, it was not as important as filling other positions of need at that selection spot.
I'd be okay w an RB in round 5. But round 3? Nah.
I don’t see how you don’t see the value of taking a RB that carried Michigan to a national championship game. Don’t care where it is. Sometimes you adjust plans to take a good player earlier if you think he’s going to make a difference where and when it matters. You also have to have confidence you can fill the other needs later if that is the case. Being inflexible isn’t as good a thing as you believe and I’m hella glad you’re not in the draft room with that thinking.
Agreed, also there are always good veteran options that come free in the summer. CJ Anderson was signed halfway through the 2018 season, I believe, as an example.
Would we get a better running back in round 5 or do we take one that has fallen what other position do we need more oline has been buffed up in the weak position and was solid by the end of the year we pick up some corner help in free agency as well. Grabbed d line already solid pick front office has shown then can get talent deep in the draft
Ronnie Rivers, who is a perfectly capable #2 back. And Royce Freeman/any of a thousand dudes at #3 RB.
We didn't need a running back more than we needed a pass catching TE or CB help...
The offense looked nowhere near firing on all cylinders when Kyren was out during the regular season.
To not like the pick is fine, to say it wasn’t a need is not right. They also no longer have Royce and Rivers is a capable #2 but he would then be #1.
Lmao prime shit posting
It’s kind of funny how many people apparently just read the title ignored the body post and started talking about the pick.
Exactly 😅😅 hopefully we pick up some useful FAU picks too tho - strat seems to be prime
Holy shit not a single person read the body 😂
Kind of scary huh?

I have noticed that it depends on where you click. I strictly use Reddit mobile.
Seems like people would rather discuss the pick than the joke that Florida is a great state.
For all the people who are complaining because we have Kyren, don’t you all remember what happened when he was injured? Our offense looked anemic.

Not to mention Sony got us to the playoffs the year cam went down. Having two great backs is a must for a sb run imo
Super Bowl run, I like where your head’s at ;)

Wow, I guess I’m in the minority. I was beyond ecstatic with this pick.
Well, you know, I believe the fan base and experts weren’t happy with a certain defensive tackle coming out of Pitt about a decade ago.
I mean why draft d-line when that was our strength the year before? Clearly a boneheaded pick!
Not just that, I hated we have to sign DHenderson AGAIN every time Kyren get hurt.
Nah Hendo is awesome. Ram legend

He had three carries and lost a fumble in the 2021 Orange Bowl, so…there’s a tie to good defense in Florida at least

We’re bought in! Will try to see them if they come close to us!
Maybe his grandmother lives in Florida
I’ll have to start the investigation.
Blake Corum took handoffs from J.J. McCarthy, who put a season in at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. Florida Man connection found!
It seems like a bit of a stretch, but best I have. Thank you for your service!

What was our record without Kyren last season? Compared to with? Insurance this is…
This is the easy pic, he’s a stronger Kyren. I would’ve liked Trey Bensen or Audric Estime but this is third best option.

Great state?
Corums a nice solid pick up, guys big north to south which is what a lot of bCks dont have anymore
🤣😂🤣
Zach Evans, what happened?
Not a fan of this Pic. I wanted someone bigger, faster, and less injuryprone. But then again, what do I know? Maybe he'll be awesome.
He was a beast this past season with 0 injuries and a million carries.
No more small backs!!!!!!!!!!
So disappointed. I do not think we need a running Back at all, but we definitely need a tackle
Yeah, not loving taking a RB this early. Not a position of need.

If Rams had won in Detroit who would have been our starting running back the next week?
I was actually available for the next game. I would’ve gladly suited up
Ronnie Rivers, who is a perfectly capable #2 back. And Royce Freeman/any of a thousand dudes at #3 RB. We didn't need a running back more than we needed a pass catching TE or CB help...

Rivers isn’t a capable backup, Corum is an immediate upgrade. TE is thin in this draft and cb was addressed in free agency.
Addressed short term. Rams need a long term CB answer
