Those prison meals about to be top notch though.

BigThurm

Innocent till proven guilty, but yikes. I get my hair braided by the same girl sometimes, maybe she’ll have the scoop lol

MissPurpleblaze

Report back lol

movingmouth

Presumption of innocence is just for the legal system.

ABVerageJoe69

Strangulation is now a felony in all 50 states as it is the highest criminal predictor of murder and is often present in severe situations of domestic violence. The top medical predictor is a break on the bone on the outside of the forearm, which indicates a severe defense wound. When you fall you often break both forearm bones or just the interior, so you really break only the outside bone when using it to block an attacker. The number one cause of death in pregnant black women is murder. When a woman is murdered, it was her intimate partner over 30% of the time. For men 8%.

FwendyWendy

Source on pregnant black women? That's a really weird statistic.

Fair-Trainer-7499

Weird in what way? Women in general are most likely to be murdered when they’re pregnant, so it stands to reason that a more vulnerable subgroup would be even more likely.

Fair-Trainer-7499

Er, sorry. Murder is the number one cause of death for pregnant women, I think I messed that up a little with my first comment.

letsgototraderjoes

homicide is the #1 cause of death for pregnant women. men are scary..

ABVerageJoe69

It’s from the CDC domestic violence prevention statistics.

bigeazybreezy

always had a fake ass positive energy about him. welp damn

mmurry

It was legit in the beginning. Definitely became a facade with Covid and other troubles behind the scenes.

mfante

I’m just nosey lol. Can you elaborate?

mmurry

Not on him and his situation specifically as of 2022-present no. However, my family and I went to his restaurant in December 2015 because my brother is on the autism spectrum with a love/fixation for superheroes. Darnell showed my brother a couple of really cool superhero things he had including a picture of Batman that was custom made for him. There was an authentic light in his eye that this is what he wanted to do. The fire happened the next month in January. We visited the highlands location a few times and the last couple of times you could feel the energy had diminished. Great dude, great concept, wish there had been a dinner menu, hope he “rises from the ashes” and starts up a Phoenix themed restaurant.

Environmental_Arm526

I felt the same. Especially after his restaurants mysteriously had water and fire damage multiple times.

masshamacide

Same— after his restaurants caught on fire and had issues, something seemed off. Even eating at his restaurant and meeting him— just something about him was giving weird vibes. I was totally shocked he was on food network and they had him hosting competitions.

rhett342

Tom+Che was in the same building and closed because of water damage. Also, Tom+Che, if you read this, please come back!

No_Concern9360

The location of Super Chefs was prone to flooding. The pasta restaurant that was there before SC unexpectedly closed too due to flooding.

Emilia_Clarke_is_bae

I'm guessing something domestic / personal? Sad to see though.

emasslax22

Sad to see and read. Hoping for the best for everyone involved.

mfimiani

we've lived long enough to see the *SuperChef*, turn into a **SuperVillain**. :(

Upbeetmusic

Guess those Today show appearances are over.

SoctrDeuss

Super theft

nainotlaw

Yikes

majorgerth

This is a wild one for me. When I was interviewing for a job in Louisville, I flew out and sat next to his sister on the flight here. She talked about him for a while and said he’d been on tv, owns restaurants, and I had to try SuperChefs. She was super nice. Never ended up meeting him so I can’t speak to that.

Camillyledger

I’ve been hearing rumors of him being a domestic abuser since 2016 (friends of friends). Not surprised to see this at all.

bigtimejohnny

That's a pretty good lookin' mug shot, though, you gotta admit.

AverageApuEnthusiast

No ugly ass hats in jail, dude is going to have to confront that hairline now.

cold_as_nice

Right before this news broke last night, we happened to be watching his Grudge Match show on Food Network. I said, "What is with him and those dumbass hats?" Then I saw this mugshot and thought, "Oh, that's what's up with those dumbass hats. He's trying to hide that receding hairline."

dlc741

That’s unfortunate

Numerous-Ad4715

All of his restaurants failed, why not top it off with a felony?

cold_as_nice

I have thought his rise to fame on Food Network has been so strange when literally all of his restaurants here have failed.

AverageApuEnthusiast

Nothing surprising here. Completely consistent with who he's always been.

lasorciereviolette

I really hope that he is innocent. It's so disheartening to watch people who have done really well for themselves eff it all up doing stupid shit.

IcyRepresentative402

I use to bartend at his restaurant before it caught on fire, they screwed with my schedule due to his friends who call themselves “chefs” on the job. I didn’t want to date them and they became passive aggressive on the job so i left . Notice they type of bartenders they use to have and how long they didn’t lasted .

SectionTemporary9517

I think we worked together

Speedy86

A bird told me that he and his wife were in the process of divorcing and it was messy. Maybe it's involving her. Who knows.

kclongest

That would make sense.

dariamorgandorffer

Phew. Don’t they have a mess of children? Hate to see it.

bmheck

I bet you used to tell your friend’s crushes that they had a crush on them in middle school. Gossiping is still lame.

bigfoot17

Imma downvote that as pure pointless speculation, do better.

Agreeable-Effort-374

It was his baby momma that he did this too

Wen60s

I remember when he first started, sharing a small space on lower Brownsboro Rd. I feel like TV fame ruined him. I, too, hope he “rises from the ashes.” He used to be a lovely person.

[deleted]

Black privilege…

paynelive

News alert - just because you're from Louisville and are on the Food Network, doesn't mean you're a competent businessperson, cook, or human being. Example - Lynn's too much?

foreman17

Who is claiming anything like that? Who are you even responding to lol

primabelladonna35

Strangulation isn't a good guy quality

nuclearwinterxxx

*takes notes* (whew, that was close.)
