Idk if lowes is going to be the same, I left years ago, but I had one of these in an office I worked in. Everything cost 2-4 times as much as it would a convenience store and you had to preload large amounts of money (like $50+) to make any purchase no matter how small.
Yeah. I think the price is per store, I can get a coffee cheaper at Lowe's then I can at a gas station here (thankfully, because closing here is brutal) but the price of our actual items is ridiculous
This is old school, but back closer to 2010 my girlfriend used to work at a lowes with a 25 or 50 cent (canāt remember) hot dog machine in it. Mustāve been the days
We had decent chairs, but they replaced them all with wicker chairs, which are comfortable enough, but I get an itchy rash for days if my arms or legs touch them. I brought this up to management cause I wasn't sure if it is a personal skin allergy or if others had an issue with them, but I wanted them to at least add something that wasn't wicker. Their response was to quietly add more wicker chairs.
The wicker isn't bad. My skin just doesn't agree with it, I guess. Idk why they'd replace them all with something less comfortable. Just further proof that the company doesn't care about their employees.
The way it is positioned at ours, it shows everyone entering and leaving the break room. This change only benefits the vending company. Prices were upped and break room space was lost.
No you donāt š there were cameras in the break room at my job before lowes and I found out the thief was someone I would have gladly given those cokes to. He brightened my day and they had to fire him.
It's a very easy way for the company to watch what's being done and said by employees. They could in theory decide to go after employees that distribute say pro union content, or share their feelings of displeasure for a member of leadership.
They don't. Those shields are there to specifically block the break room portion and Lowe's doesn't even have access to the cameras. They're used for theft since people steal shit from these all the times.
They also show the camera feed right above the terminal so you can see every angle.
Lastly there are laws about cameras in break rooms in most states that don't let them do that.
The white camera is owned by Lowe's. The camera shield is simply to block the light next to it lol..
Laws against cameras in the break room isn't a thing.
lowes def have access my boy i work for lowes actually and my ap literally sat me down and talked with me because i sat in the break room for and extended period he literally pulled me up one the camera. remember lowes work hand in hand with the avenue c vendor so of course both parties have footage.
Can't get over 1.89 for a bottle of water that I got for .75 from the now absent vending machines, and I never trusted gas station sandwiches. Cameras don't bother me, usually only there to get my vest, or put it away.
Damn from reading these comments I did not know our break room was considered luxurious lmao. I believe they are patio furniture from the ISLG section. Donāt know if they billed it as store use or if itās a return we repurposed
You guys have TWO fridges and a COUCH??? We have 1 fridge that you have to cram your food in because people forget to take theirs home and the only comfortable seating we had were 2 tiny recliners that ended up getting taken out and replaced with those low to the ground plastic patio slouch chairs.
They just got ours ready for the refresh coming. They gutted the whole break room and repainted and redid the floors. Then they remade a kitchen sink with cabinets and the 2 new fridges and 2 new tvs because the other smart tv were āout of dateā. Now we are waiting for avenue c to come in and set up the kiosks and food fridges
I miss the vending machines when 20oz drinks were $1
This setup robs us of that. The 20oz drinks have gone up and up to where that aināt a perk for working at Lowes.
Keep your vending machines as long as you can!!!!!
The outdoor sectional is NOT worth it š āāļøš āāļøš āāļø My Cincy store had one and they had to trash it bc it had bugs. Enjoy your metal chairs and peace of mind.
Our break room is a pigsty ever since they took away the FSA position. The only time it ever gets cleaned is if they think somebody's going to walk the store from corporate.
We got vending machines but we have those foldable tables and chairs. I can see why they'd have security cameras there though, as it s still merchandise even if it's for the employees
Our break room is decent. We have 4 round cafe tables and sturdy chairs with padded seats, plus a long folding table and a sofa and coffee table. So far we still have old vending machines. Two refrigerator-freezers, microwaves, a Keurig coffee machine and an ice machine.
You have cameras everywhere in the store minus the bathrooms. It's to deter theft. The second no camera is pointed to where someone can grab and not pay is the second people steal. Ever have food for employees in the breakroom or food in the fridge? I've seen multiple associates have more than their deserved helping. If a vending machine malfunctioned and didn't charge people for their selections, you think employees would be honest about it? Or clean it out. Really not a big deal. Go take a nap on your bed bug infested couch.
Honestly youāll forget about them soon enough. The only time Iāve seen them use the cameras is to catch the homeless people coming in and taking a butt load of food.
We don't have all this yet. It's coming in August, apparently. We just got new large round tables and some cheap ass super uncomfortable plastic chairs. (I call them the Dollar General chairs.) So now we are forced to look at each other while we eat. The couch looks nice, but most people can't even clean up a dropped chip or a spill they made themselves, so that's gonna be nasty in a week. They tried to do a cleaning schedule, but so far, it looks like that's not happening. I'm not surprised, really.
Best we got is two soda vending machines, a snack vending machine, a mini kitchen set up, two fridges, lockers, and shitty tables with semi good chairs. My guy, what Lowe's is this that is so rich? š¤£š
They do not have a sectional outdoor couch in this break room. This store is from some alternate universe where the employees shop and the customers work.
One break room had really bright lights, we replaced all the fluorescent tubes with lower wattage ones. It was much more comfortable, until the DM saw it and then we had to put the high wattage tubes back in. F***ing DM
I was absolutely ecstatic when we got our Avenue c and cameras. Before we got them, our last SM had some extra cabinets added to the break room and made them into a breakfast bar, but every time they stocked the breakfast bar the food would only last a couple days before overnights cleaned it all out. Donāt have that problem with the Avenue C. I will gladly pay for my snacks if it means they are always available.
Not a single one of you is interesting enough for them to be watching you in the breakroom. Get over yourselves, you are on camera the rest of the day.
Not an employee. Just commenting. So I witness vehicle stealing many high end items out the garden area and told manager the license number. Prob happens on weekly or daily basis. Seems like cameras should be in areas that are needed for theft and prevention. Imo.
Theyāve had those at corporate for 5 years. I hate them, I hate the prices. The cameras are pointed right where you have to be to take any of the food or drink. So if you donāt pay, theyāll have seen you take it, and then someone will take it out of your paycheck.
And if I donāt like it, what do I do? I stay away from it.
Big Bro/ Big Sis!!!. next Iāll have cameras in the toilet bowls counting how many pieces of toilet paper you use and if you go over three sheets thatās it. Itās a dollar for every every sheet after that itās sheet Siri you stupid shit then itās a dollar sheet after three. CEOs, the upper management officers in the military Jesus Christ, what a bunch of fucking idiots.
boujee ass break room wtf š ours does NOT look like this šššššššš
Mone doesn't even have a vending machine
Idk if lowes is going to be the same, I left years ago, but I had one of these in an office I worked in. Everything cost 2-4 times as much as it would a convenience store and you had to preload large amounts of money (like $50+) to make any purchase no matter how small.

Dude I'd kill for a glizzy rn
Ours had some nice ass outdoor furniture and they took it away for some foldable chairs and tables still not happy about it /:
We had decent chairs, but they replaced them all with wicker chairs, which are comfortable enough, but I get an itchy rash for days if my arms or legs touch them. I brought this up to management cause I wasn't sure if it is a personal skin allergy or if others had an issue with them, but I wanted them to at least add something that wasn't wicker. Management replaced our outdoor wicker chairs with hardwood benches a few months ago -_-
The wicker isn't bad. My skin just doesn't agree with it, I guess. Idk why they'd replace them all with something less comfortable. Just further proof that the company doesn't care about their employees.
We had nice furniture but night crew messed them up by putting their feet on them
Fr I saw this and said, āA FUCKIN COUCH?!!āšš weāre lucky to get chairs with backs
Yes! Weāve got folding chairs with folding tables and empty vending machines. Iām jealous!
It's being rolled out across the company. Some stores have had this for months, and then OP's and mine just got it this week. It'll hit yours soon.
Donāt be jealous. The prices are horrible
We have avenue c at my job (not Loweās). The only good thing price wise is soda. Itās actually cheap compared to Walmart and grocery stores.
Frl bro. Mine is nice but all we have is a TV and a few chairsššš
Ours got changed to this like 2 weeks back left work one night came back the next morning and poof boujee break room
Fr mine just has flimsy tables and metal chairsš
Every store getting that Avenue C refresh. Ask your SM about it.
Damn a couch! We just have shitty tables
We have shitty tables and broken stools. Most of us eat lunch in our cars because there's no place comfortable to sit.
Same. I never sit in there, I always go to my car.
You gave a couch?! š«Ø
We have a couch too š¤Ŗ
Mean š„²
Ours has camera shields and only shows the vending area. And other stores Iāve seen are the same. Someone skimped on the setup.
The way it is positioned at ours, it shows everyone entering and leaving the break room. This change only benefits the vending company. Prices were upped and break room space was lost.
dont be fooled trust they can see full room almost
They cannot see the room. It's the area at the drinks and snacks only.
Ours has displays showing exactly what is being shown
That's what they're telling you but have you actually seen the cam view?
I've seen ours. They can see the room
I always wondered why do so many people care if theres cameras in the break room? What are you all doing in there?
Yeah I know. I love to see who the hell is stealing my lunch
No you donāt š there were cameras in the break room at my job before lowes and I found out the thief was someone I would have gladly given those cokes to. He brightened my day and they had to fire him.
I can't respect a thief
Last time I checked, itās illegal in some states
It's illegal in EVERY state. They won't be doing this. Wayyyy too much risk.
It's a very easy way for the company to watch what's being done and said by employees. They could in theory decide to go after employees that distribute say pro union content, or share their feelings of displeasure for a member of leadership.
Good point.
They don't. Those shields are there to specifically block the break room portion and Lowe's doesn't even have access to the cameras. They're used for theft since people steal shit from these all the times. They also show the camera feed right above the terminal so you can see every angle. The white camera is owned by Lowe's. The camera shield is simply to block the light next to it lol.. Laws against cameras in the break room isn't a thing.
Lowes def has access cause Iāve seen footage.
lowes def have access my boy i work for lowes actually and my ap literally sat me down and talked with me because i sat in the break room for and extended period he literally pulled me up one the camera. remember lowes work hand in hand with the avenue c vendor so of course both parties have footage.
They canāt.
Can't get over 1.89 for a bottle of water that I got for .75 from the now absent vending machines, and I never trusted gas station sandwiches. Cameras don't bother me, usually only there to get my vest, or put it away.
Fucking sandwiches? Seems like a lot of food waste, someone is making bank off that stupid contract.
That couch thing's gonna be fucked up in a week. People are sloppy, stupid and largely irresponsible. Talk about a waste of $. Looks sweet, tho. :)
Yeah from the state of our break room we donāt deserve nice things, especially not a couch lol
The company that runs the little break room shop thing doesnāt share their camera with Loweās
When someone doesnāt pay they sure do.
Yea when it affects them, but if Loweās wants it for something theyāre perfectly fine with ignoring us
Yāall have a couch??
Damn from reading these comments I did not know our break room was considered luxurious lmao. I believe they are patio furniture from the ISLG section. Donāt know if they billed it as store use or if itās a return we repurposed
We have real old lawn furniture too, looks kinda like a futon. We just got new cushions for it this year. People sleep on it all the time
I would not trust a couch in our break roomā¦. Ew.
Yeah, no shit. Between crumbs, lawn & garden butt-sweat, and overnight stocking crew sexy time - there's no telling what stains are in there!
Weāve had mice steal small packs of candy and run under the shelving. Iāve heard them nibbling on the wrapper under there š
You guys have TWO fridges and a COUCH??? We have 1 fridge that you have to cram your food in because people forget to take theirs home and the only comfortable seating we had were 2 tiny recliners that ended up getting taken out and replaced with those low to the ground plastic patio slouch chairs.
Homie we have some plastic tables and a some plastic office chairs, thatās it.
same
Same. There used to be a couch built into the wall but they tore it off.
I feel fancy. We have 3 fridges, air fryer, microwave and toaster oven. Glass topper tables and basic plastic chairs. And now the new vending shit.
wth. An air fryer? Damn. Though do people actually clean it?
I have when cleaning the microwave etc but not really that I've seen, no
They just got ours ready for the refresh coming. They gutted the whole break room and repainted and redid the floors. Then they remade a kitchen sink with cabinets and the 2 new fridges and 2 new tvs because the other smart tv were āout of dateā. I miss the vending machines when 20oz drinks were $1 This setup robs us of that. The 20oz drinks have gone up and up to where that aināt a perk for working at Lowes. Keep your vending machines as long as you can!!!!!
Relax. It only sees you at the payment terminal or the food you select.
The outdoor sectional is NOT worth it š āāļøš āāļøš āāļø My Cincy store had one and they had to trash it bc it had bugs. Enjoy your metal chairs and peace of mind.
You have cameras ā¦ and a frigginā couch??
I wish I had a couch
This is the nicest break room Iāve ever seenā¦
Daaaam, your setup is nice! Lmao
Jesus Christ people chill out. It's a camera for viewing the vending area because it's a trust system. Not everyone is out to get you.
Our break room is a pigsty ever since they took away the FSA position. The only time it ever gets cleaned is if they think somebody's going to walk the store from corporate.
I like it other than the crazy prices
We got vending machines but we have those foldable tables and chairs. I can see why they'd have security cameras there though, as it s still merchandise even if it's for the employees
Our break room is decent. We have 4 round cafe tables and sturdy chairs with padded seats, plus a long folding table and a sofa and coffee table. So far we still have old vending machines. Two refrigerator-freezers, microwaves, a Keurig coffee machine and an ice machine.
You have a sofa in the breakroom? We barely have tables. Ugly dirty ass patio tables and chairs
Same here it's covered in stains and raggedy as hell
a couch! we have uncomfortable chairs and tables!
The cameras are pointed at the food, not the tables. š
Riiiiiight...
Look closely buddy.
Amazing the number of people who havenāt seen that it catches a view of the couch.Ā
And microphone.
BTW they WILL fire over thefts from that.
Man, yāall have epic break rooms compared to what I have. Of course, I WFH lol
Somebody getting that hawk tuah on that couch while no one's looking. Probably already happened
Marie Antoinette break room havin ass associate š¤£
Youāve always had cameras in the breakroom, you just werenāt aware and I can 100% assure you of that.
Maybe at the newer Loweās stores but the ones that are 10+ years older you donāt even have cameras in the back aisles lmao
Please tell me there will still be a microwave., please
Bro why does yours look better than mine
we've had this for at least a year (thats when i started)
You have a fucking couch?!?!??
YOU GOT A FUCKING COUCH IN YOUR BREAK ROOM
You have a couch?! Thatās so sick dude, weāve got outdoor chairs (the weird mesh ones) and tables (the ones with the holes in it)
Chips, gas station sandwiches, ramen, and candyā¦.
Iām back after my two days off I hope we have if Joe
Y'all gave up the break room for some chips.
Ours had comfy chairs. New SM had them removed.
Your break room looks better than ours.
These break rooms are neat until you realize they are massively overcharging you for sugary snacks that are already overpriced.
You have a couch wtf I don't want to hear crap from you. All we got is hard plastic chairs
Is all that free lol?
Honestly youāll forget about them soon enough. The only time Iāve seen them use the cameras is to catch the homeless people coming in and taking a butt load of food.
yalls break room look way better than my storešš
Y'ALL HAVE A COUCH????

Oh no way
Best we got is two soda vending machines, a snack vending machine, a mini kitchen set up, two fridges, lockers, and shitty tables with semi good chairs. My guy, what Lowe's is this that is so rich? š¤£š
We're getting this soon. They say the camera only points at the register, but I'm sure the audio from the whole room will be heard.
How yall keep it so clean my store come with a coating of dust and dirt
There's whole towns in Alaska that would be jealous of that mini store break room.
Genuinely, why does it matter? Based on what I heard, there's no audio.
The cameras just point at the food to make sure no one is stealing.
Always took a break and lunch my car Fuck the break room, when I'm on break I'm on break not still on call
Wish we had that many microwave noodle options
What's with that chip and candy buffet? I'm definitely taking a Reese's and not paying for it... Lol
monsters and other products are 2 dollars more in here than they are at the registers.
They do not have a sectional outdoor couch in this break room. This store is from some alternate universe where the employees shop and the customers work.
itās bc of the type of āvendingā they picked. it honestly looks all free to me and some off label atm. does it not?
Check your state law - itās typically against the law to have cameras in the break room
Mmmmā¦health food
Everyone give the cameras the finger. If you all do it they canāt do anything about it.
One break room had really bright lights, we replaced all the fluorescent tubes with lower wattage ones. It was much more comfortable, until the DM saw it and then we had to put the high wattage tubes back in. F***ing DM
Hey awesome break room but I gotta know... is it expensive? We don't have it yet just curious Thank you
Where the hell is this break room, Dubai???
Howās Randy the stoner flooring associate gonna vape in there if thereās cameras
Damn it. You got Ramen!!!!!
Damn, your break room looks so lounge-y. Mine just has terribly uncomfortable tables and chairs
The cameras only point at the items for us to buy and the point of sale at ours.
Imo.
So weāre not going to talk about the couch being in the cameras view? š¤£š¤£š¤£
Uhhhh this is all Types of weird
Donāt steal
Holy goodness. You mean you donāt have to sit on half broken folding chairs and tables that are ready to break with one more use? Lucky
Ya only 3$ for a Gatorade thank you Lowes š
Looks awesome! Whoās stealing the food first?
The cameras are only there for the food and register area. They are not recording what is taking place in the rest of the break room.
We have cameras in our cafeteria get over yourself they're there only to keep people from hiding in the break room instead of doing their job
This the nicest break room Iāve ever seen
Children will be conceived on that couch. Have a Lowe's Safe Day.
It's only one camera pointed down to make sure you don't steal snacks. We have them at Amazon. (Used to work for lowes)
That's a nice fkn break room
Itās a miracle if mine is ever even stocked with anything
So are they charging $3 for sodas and chips? lol
I wouldnāt mind camerasā¦ā¦maybe some people wonāt take 4 to 5 breaks and actually help out on the floor.
Break room cam. Yup itās jover
Thatās craY
What is a break room?
Big Bro/ Big Sis!!!. next Iāll have cameras in the toilet bowls counting how many pieces of toilet paper you use and if you go over three sheets thatās it. Itās a dollar for every every sheet after that itās sheet Siri you stupid shit then itās a dollar sheet after three. CEOs, the upper management officers in the military Jesus Christ, what a bunch of fucking idiots.
Lowes sucks dix
Glad I left Blowes
Enjoy your $6 moldy sandwiches and $5 granola bars
Can have a break room like this cuz they pay their employees garbage. Come sand floors with me. Show up everyday and Iāll pay you $30/hr.
