How shady are these independent installers that lowes pays to do these? Can't imagine they are all shady people but I would guess anyone that could do quality work isn't going to do it for however little lowes offers.

Lowe's just is the middle man to the middle man. All Lowe's does is schedule with Angi for you. And Angi is just a 3rd party to hire a contractor. It causes many problems.

I mean a toilet and faucet can be installed in 30 minutes.... A contractor taking these jobs is more likely to be a handy man who has a side hustle. I would take $50-$100 to install a toilet and faucet for 30 or so minutes.

I was gonna say,  after having Lowe's(CRST really) install my dishwasher I'm NEVER having them work on my house again

Sasoli7

Don’t use HD either. Just as bad.

budding_gardener_1

Yeah. I don't shop at HD generally

GoatsAdvocate

And it's a mail in rebate haha

Corrohsive

I know only thing i can say to that is “🥴” lmao

I can’t speak for anyone else’s stores but the guys my store used were terrible, I had to take calls about them every day, didn’t show up, late, rude, broke something, didn’t clean up after themselves you name it. Just hire someone

First time I recall a promo like this in my 16 years, I have been thinking about replacing my toilets at home… looks like I’m about to!

My wife works for IST and dealing with angi installers is the worst. Most of the time you select a date snd time and the installers just change it without notifying people. These installs are just throwing money at a sticky board snd seeing what profits stick. So many issues snd refunds around angi installs.

Some parts of the country you have to be a licensed plumber to reinstall toilets. Our flooring providers will remove them but can’t reset them. So we then offer a plumber to come out and reset them. Flooring contractors charge 50-100 to pull. Plumbers then charge another 100-150 to reset them. It gets a little expensive if a CX can’t do it themselves.

> Some parts of the country you have to be a licensed plumber to reinstall toilets I've learned that doesn't matter to Lowe's. You have to pull a permit to install a dishwasher in my state(commercially at least). Lowe's subs showed up and did the install but with no permit and didn't install water hammer arrestors or GFCI. Ice been fighting with them for the last 4 weeks to get this sorted out. Next time I'll just do it myself

Sweet Jesus. The calls I'm going to be getting about angie in the next few days. Unfortunately, Angie is the optimized installer for all areas. I'm going to be canceling so many installations 🥲🥲 so many WOs also. My last call about Angie the guy brought his gf to the customers house they were arguing and probably high lol. That was fun to deal with

Mar363

It's like $500 for a toilet install. Completely ridiculous

Holiday_Regular_9792

I thought Lowe's install for a toilet was high, but then a family member called around and got quotes for install and it's about the going rate(for our area)...assuming that it's a licensed plumber doing the installation.

I wouldn’t want one of their ‘pros’ in my house. Contractors associated with Lowe’s or Home Depot are absolute bottom of the barrel trash.
