If Periera vs Ank goes similar to Jan vs Periera will people say Periera hasn't faced a good grappler still?

hillsy13692

Can Dana announce the rest of the 305 card already card needs some more bangers. At the moment I could’ve gone to an eternal event 2 years ago and seen half of the same fighters on the card

endless_ness

how did omalley do as a commentator?

AML2003

From the clip I saw and the opinions I've seen surprisingly good actually.

endless_ness

I remember izzy did a great job on the tyson card, so im not surprised to hear omalley did well. Both have amazing vision

Loop_Dawg74

Periera would do better than Israel

-ci_

I actually really wanna see Till vs Masvidal in boxing, I won't even lie

endless_ness

if part of what makes Ozempic work is that it slows down digestion for the user, I wonder if Max naturally has a slower digestion than someone like DC

druhoang

There's a pretty recent eye opening study that showed that people's metabolism doesn't really slow down much until they hit 60. So if someone got fat in the 30's, 40's, 50's. It must be from eating more, being less active, having less muscle. Not from their metabolism slowing down.

endless_ness

when you compare what I ate from 18-23 with only a little bit of basketball and flag football vs what I eat now and how much I work out, that doesn't seem possible (at least for me)

spcslacker

> So if someone got fat in the 30's, 40's, 50's. It must be from eating more, being less active, having less muscle. Physical peak for men is late twenties and early thirties. Much harder to be as active with sports-related arthritis in ankles and knees, a trick knee that collapses for no reason occasionally, and injury recovery that is around 4x what it used to be. Obviously, some age-related problems can be ameliorated by TRT, since testosterone is an anabolic steroid that helps with muscle building and recovery.

Futaba-Channel

You think artem vakhitov gets a tittleshot if he beats a can then anthony smith, oezdemir and johnny walker?

xTripNinja

Probably, the UFC has been loving these kickboxers crossing over. They’re even giving Yousri Belgaroui another shot. Vakhitov will be in there if he wins a few more MMA fights.

IshiharasBitch

Similar path worked for Pereira at MW, so seems totally possible.

SavingsPhotograph791

Anyone got any good instructional recommendations?

IshiharasBitch

For MMA? "Balls To Wall" by Craig Jones. Jones helped Volkanovski prepare to wall wrestle with Makhachev.

SavingsPhotograph791

Thx I’ll def check it out

StoryOfTheFight

Seconding this. Fuckin excellent instructional. Also "Back Attack Arsenal" is very good from Gerald Meerschaert

IshiharasBitch

You've got good taste

Orageux101

Anyone know what Sopaj is up to? He looked kinda interesting before he got folded into a chair.

vm170

Was till’s match even officially a pro boxing bout? 3 2 min rounds and not on boxrec. lol. That’d be a massive waste of time on tills end

CableToBeam

Wait what?! It was 3 2 minute rounds? Is that a joke? haha

Hallahrian

It's all about cash mate, guys gotta make enough money to buy cocaine and sell it.

InvestigatorMain4008

I know I am late, but here are my thoughts on DDP vs Strickland at 297: Du Plesis is athletic af. Watching him get Sean down by just straight up dive bombing from a mile away with no set up is ridiculous. Same with his strikes, it looks kind of funky with how kind of just runs in and punches without setting his feet, but he does a good job of getting his head off line and mixing his strikes and angles. DDP has a clear flaw that could potentially be exposed against Adesanya(depending on which version shows up). The body. It was extremely frustrating watching Sean just back/circle away from DDPs blitzes instead of biting down and attacking his continuously open mid section. Sean was overwhelmed by DDPs explosiveness, and I believe 2 judges ultimately got the decision right. Adesanya better not underestimate the champ.

Huck77

Finally getting around to catching up on Kendrick vs Drake stuff. Drake had some good shots in there, but I have to say Kendrick took it 49-45 on my card.

Loop_Dawg74

Drake gassed after landing some good shots on Kendrick early but didn't do nearly enough damage to stop Kendrick from accumulating points and convincing the ref to take a point away from Drake. He also got the crowd on his side by dancing and taunting Drake. Overall an ok fight that made a fuck ton of money.

endless_ness

cringe

SavingsPhotograph791

Idk I think not like us was a 10-8

Huck77

That is how I arrived at 49-45. Kendrick finished the last round with a 10-8. That shit was brutal.

spcslacker

Some of you may know that Craig Jones is going to have a super fight with Gabi Garcia at CJI soon. But he's been training rigorously to defeat the fairer sex for a while. Learn from the master [on this extremely technical, narrated roll](https://youtu.be/7LYE0u_D7po)

Jumbalaa

[Bow down to the king](https://youtu.be/Ut8MTBIZrC8)

Thiswillbetempacc

Is it wrong to say that UFC just doesn't have any unique fan culture unlike other sports like Football, American Football, hell even WWE which technically isn't a sport but the fan culture is so unique. Same old USA USA chants is all they got and occasionally chanting fighters name, ole ole here and there that's it. Fans can really uplift the entire environment and that Paris event with Gane and Tuivasa was evidence of it

kenscout

Yeah 100% especially for your average weekly UFC PFLator events. I think part of it is investment basically every wrestler in WWE who gets on TV has fans and obviously people are rooting for one team or the other at games. For like 90% of fights the people in the arena probably barely care who wins.

idcman999

i might get downvoted, but Paddy is overhated af like hating somebody like Conor & Jones is understandable, because they've been proven to be pieces of shit multiple times in the past (the latter a woman beater too) but Paddy didn't do anything wrong, yeah sure he robbed Gordon & had that situation with Ariel, but he? seems like a decent human? am i missing something? why does the mma community have a grudge against him? is he just Belal 2.0 where its just fun to hate on him?

SuffaYassavi

For me, it was the Gordon fight and his total lack of humility or even capability to admit that it was an egregious decision.

TasteDeBallZach

I don't think he's ever been arrested for anything, but he is openly xenophobic. He has said some shit about Georgians and he said Mokaev is a fraud for carrying the UK flag. But with that being said, he didn't really get hated on until he was talking shit about Ariel and how he should be paid to go be interviewed.

Trenbolone-Papi

Dana White privilege He’s being sold as a future cotnended when his skills are mediocre Fat boy

Hallahrian

He's got a personality that rubs people the wrong way, simple as that imo. That said, it seems like he's become aware of it and turned it down a bit.

allcazador

Absolutely criminal how they popped my boy Hamdy Abdelwahab. Built like a fucking tank, high level wrestling background, bricks for hands. 2 year suspension. Still holding out hope.

trewpof3132

Chill, he can start competing again from the end of this month.

xTripNinja

Artem Vakhitov out here calling for a trilogy with Poatan in the UFC. Transitioned to MMA last year. I kinda love GLORY becoming a feeder league to the UFC.

systemsruminator

Rewatched Whittaker vs DDP. Those two in that fight look like they belong in two different weight classes lmao. Middleweights will need to beef up and have considerable chance to stay on top of that divison. Way too many fighters with walking weight between LHW and HW. You put DDP in LHW and he won't look out of place. Size IS a considerable advantage. Combine that with power and wrestling, and you have a weird as fck juggernaut in DDP.

endless_ness

Personally I think poatan could easily get exposed if he actually faces a grappler with an iq about 70. With that being said, him going right back into training is some Michael Jordan/kobe Bryant desire to be the best mentality. Even super dedicated fighters like O’Malley after they defend the belt go on month long benders. And kids like Dustin go back to Louisiana and chill. He doesn’t pop up at American tap team for sparring that’s for damn sure

xTripNinja

This isn’t to be one of those “I trane bro” guys but I don’t think the average fan realizes how hard it can be to take someone down and that even having a wrestling background doesn’t mean you’re going to have a good shot or offensive takedowns for MMA. And it’s a lot more doable to develop good/better TDD at any point in your career than to develop offensive wrestling ability. You can’t really ask these LHW’s to just drill double legs and all of a sudden start taking everyone down. But Alex can come in with better TDD every fight. So unless a great wrestler or a Bo Nickal shows up at 205 all of a sudden most of these guys are probably going to struggle to take him down even if that’s the whole gameplan. Maybe Ankalaev can but I don’t even know where his wrestling ability is at.

Trenbolone-Papi

> Joe Pyfer rips ‘fake’ fans who doubted him after UFC 303 win: ‘There you go, motherf*ckers!’ This dude has the biggest size dildo up his ass

Tess_tickles24

Not even trying to be funny but this is the result of having a father who never tells you they’re proud of you or seems satisfied with what you’ve done.

PoatanBoxman

Nobody doubted he’d beat bauriault lmao

WarriorCumsToThis

I thought Aegon was king of the Greens, what's Bobby talking about?

Trenbolone-Papi

Nice

mcgtianiumshin

Wtf is actually going on with holloway and topuria? Why is this fight not already booked?

OtakuMecha

Just because it isn’t announced doesn’t mean the UFC doesn’t have plans. It’s just a bit too far out to announce right now.

xTripNinja

Ilia can’t be cleared until he gets all the sand out of his vagina

Flumping

It might be signed and another fight is holding up the announcement

Fat-Villante

The best heavyweights I've ever seen in MMA are 3. Fedor in Pride 2. Young Cain Velasquez 1. Fabricio Werdum in his second UFC run until beating Velasquez for the title

PoatanBoxman

Inverse that order and you’re correct

Fat-Villante

I have no issue with that take, all 3 were so goddamn good for heavyweights Werdum is simply the one who to me looked the most skilled and effective at his peak

PoatanBoxman

True. If we are talking about best and not the greatest I wouldn’t argue against Werdum

Fat-Villante

Yeah that's exactly it Fedor is the HW GOAT, that longevity is out of this world But just in terms of being the best fighter at his peak, it's Werdum for me. He became a terrifying striker without relying on power while remaining one of the best grapplers ever

Ryvit

What if UFC, or a competitor that had enough cash to draw old legends over, did an old man’s league? The way I see it working is like - To compete you have to be at least 40 years old for 125lbs all the way to middleweight. 205ers and heavyweights have to be 43 years or older. Weight classes are every 20lbs instead of 10, because there wouldn’t be enough signed fighters to fill out all the current weight classes. So 135lbs, 155lbs, 175lbs, 195lbs, 215lbs, and heavyweight. Fights are 100% booked on “Will this be fun or not?” Rather than politics, who “deserves” which fight, etc. I think this could/would be fun.

WarriorCumsToThis

This is almost literally Bellator main events from like 2015-2020

SavingsPhotograph791

I think it would be cool for the potential legends matchups you could have but I’m not sure if there’s a large enough of a talent pool for a full roster

ILikeOMalley

I fucking hate C Rod, he’s legitimately my least favorite fighter. Weight missing cheating little fuck, stealing the 0’s of some of my favorite prospects in the sport. Can’t even imagine how much money I’ve lost betting against this douche. I swear to god if he loses against Julian Erosa the one time I bet against him I am storming Roufusport Monday morning and him and I are gonna throw down

DM_ME_YOUR_CATS_PAWS

Good fighter tho never meddum

Fat-Villante

He's better than he should be, dude just doesn't look athletic or technically good I don't know how it will go vs Erosa though, seems like a difficult matchup vs a good striker. But Erosa has durability issues and doesn't have an outstanding fight IQ Hate is a strong word, I really hope you're not one of those assholes harassing fighters on social media after you lose money betting on them

ILikeOMalley

I don’t harass anyone haha one time I commented “Lucas Brennan learn to strike” on Reddit and he saw it but we’re cool now You’re absolutely right about him being better than he should be, his survivability is nuts and he’s just an all arounder. I hate how he just shamelessly misses weight and steals the 0 of some kid on 12/12. It’s fuckin annoying, obviously there’s bigger pieces of shit like woman beater Jones but C Rod is my least favorite active fighter

IshiharasBitch

> I hate how he just shamelessly misses weight Weight cutting is bad, these dudes lately who aren't doing it are heroes.

ILikeOMalley

Paulo Costa is the goat of the sport for this reason

Fat-Villante

Learn to strike ... LOL I'm not as pissed off at him missing weight, simply because I hate how prevalent crazy weight cutting is in MMA and how often it leads to ridiculous size discrepancy , and he never looks bigger than his opponent. Just looks like he sucks at cutting weight

ILikeOMalley

If you saw his last fight in Bellator my comment was justified lol And I can slightly agree with that, and if he missed weight by a pound or two I wouldn’t be that salty but he missed weight against Cameron Saaiman by 5 fuckin pounds and then had a close fight with him. On the scale it looked like he didn’t even try to make weight Do you have a least favorite fighter?

Fat-Villante

I'm sure I saw it but I can't remember it off the top of my head Yeah exactly, like he didn't even try, I honestly prefer seeing fighters who are not drained. I despise how much weight some are cutting, feels slightly more dishonorable to me to cut crazy weight than to miss weight because you didn't try Oh yeah, there are tons of fighter I really dislike. I don't know who it would be on top of the list. Someone among Holm, Jones, Covington, Cruz, Chimaev, Mix, Suarez, McGregor, Dawson, shit I could think of at least 30

ILikeOMalley

Definitely an interesting list, only one I can’t think of a reason for is Patchy Mix haha why do you hate him? I don’t dislike him but I hate the fans that say he’d beat O’Malley, he’s nowhere near as good as UFC deniers/Bellator believers like to believe imo

Fat-Villante

Mix just seems huge for 135, like compare him to Rodriguez and tell me who's bantamweight size Don't really like O'Malley either and it's the same reason, but he's probably better at MMA than Mix

Trenbolone-Papi

Bobby Green got rid of his muggle name like Tom Riddle

rightinfronofmysalad

Pereira started a dark arts meta

DM_ME_YOUR_CATS_PAWS

Jones ducking Aspinall for a part time fire-fighter / OF content creator

Trenbolone-Papi

Ankalaev responded to Alex’s tweet about Joshua’s suggestion he should box… and it only got 90 likes last I seen lol no wonder Dana and the UFC aren’t in a rush to make that fight

DerpyDagon

On the other hand he's got over 800k followers on Insta and gets tens of thousands of likes there. He just isn't that active on Twitter.

ILikeOMalley

Picking fights for this weekends card is so tough, having to take short notice into account while the card is at elevation is such a bitch

ILikeOMalley

Paddy and Mokaev underdog parlay ab to slap

IshiharasBitch

WHAT!? That's a great underdog wager. Like, holy shit bet the house for real.

ILikeOMalley

I have probably 7-9 parlays with variations of Paddy, Mokaev, Arnold Allen, and Aspinall as the final legs some have all 4. There’s this one I’ll PM you that was absolutely stupid odds, 4 leg underdog parlay

Tess_tickles24

I know I’m the only person on the planet paying attention to this but how does PFL have 4 fights announced for an event that’s in 4 weeks? I’m trying to decide if I should buy tickets but if the prelims are going to be hot dog shit I’m not going to. I know they can’t be selling any tickets in Nashville either off the strength of the PFL name and a headliner between Tim Johnson and Denis goltsov.

raspberryharbour

You don't go to live events for the fights in the cage, you go for the fights in the stands and the parking lot

Big-Pillow-Warrior

https://www.instagram.com/reel/ClMQp6ZPIsR/?hl=en   Never forget Timothy dropping Volkov and beating him up and getting robbed. That robbery win is aging well now, mma decisions that one here hehe. I wouldn’t go to a card for that though, you just go for the full event cause it’s MMA. All looks the same from the crowd view. I do find it funny Tim left UFC ranked 10 cause he was a boring wrestler and now he’s in pretty exciting fights and somehow has this weird striking he drops people with random bursts. Outside putting Volkov and Tybura down in UFC he just wrestled

Fat-Villante

I'd say go if the tickets are at a reasonable price, regardless of how good or shitty the prelims are When it comes to PFL, I'm not sure you really want to see the prelims live there, the pacing of the prelims in PFL used to be horribly slow. I haven't tried to watch the prelims live for a while though, maybe it has changed

Tess_tickles24

I rarely buy tickets to anything but if I’m looking at this diagram right it looks like you can be cageside for around $400 which is almost impossible to pass up. But I still want to know what I’m paying for.

Fat-Villante

Yeah I get that PFL usually has acceptable prelim fights, it probably won't be great but it won't be dog shit either

ILikeOMalley

Those are the only fights that they’re gonna have for the tournament on that card since it’s the semi finals, the rest of the card they have to fill out with random bouts

Tess_tickles24

Hmm that could be good or bad. I was honestly just hoping Sergey Bilostenniy would get put on the card. He’s one of the better HW prospects in the sport. But if they aren’t beholden to HW and women’s flyweight then I just hope they put a couple ranked Bellator fighters on there.

ILikeOMalley

That would be nice, this is their first semi final card since the merger. They’ll probably throw some dudes that they wanna push on this card or some guys that they want to include in the tournament next season. I can’t imagine they wanna include everybody that pulled out or just sucks/isn’t exciting on next seasons tournament and they have a wider roster to experiment with now

legendarybreed

What a shit month. Literally the most engaging fight is Paddy Pimblett vs Bobby Green

RedditHatesDiversity

Allen vs Chikadze should be a fun fight I'm interested to see if Belal brings anything new to the rematch with Leon

legendarybreed

For some reason, i have this feeling that giga/Allen gets cancelled due to injury or something. I am slightly hopeful the same Leon that was battering Belal in the first fight show ups. But I'm not going to be surprised when it's a snoozer.

ILikeOMalley

Paddy is ab to clap King Green

OtakuMecha

You don’t think Aspinall vs Blaydes will be engaging?

legendarybreed

I am looking forward to it, but it's not really something I'm dying to see.

ThisGuyHaris

That’s **King** Green to you sir

Giegling90

Bobby Green gives me the one Black guy who listens to Machine Gun Kelly vibes

PastyBoii

Damn why is this so accurate

keaneutd10

Is there a genuine more dumb move ufc can do than putting Leon vs Belal on at 6am lol

MikeLitsbig

Plenty more dumb things. Most of the viewers are from the states so of course they’re going to cater to them

JiriBrochazka

I still think it was a dumb move, and no offense, it’s a solid ass card, but who’s actually paying for Leon and Aspinal out here? I don’t think this is going to do very good numbers at least here.

Odd_Ad_8162

Honestly they are 2 of my favourite guys and I would absolutely pay to see an event with them But UFC prices are absolutely absurd combined with the start time etc.

secretbil

On vacation in Tokyo. Decided to hit up a BJJ gym a few train stops away. I show up early and wait until a young Japanese guy comes to open the gym. He speaks almost no English, but he tells me he is a black belt in judo and has recently started to train BJJ here to transition to MMA. A blue belt shows up, an older blue belt. It is just us 3 and I basically get a judo private with this black belt. I have done enough judo to understand him with his limited English and watching the technique. We drill uchi mata and some sets ups for it, spar a few rounds of BJJ, and call it day. We take a pic and exchange Instagrams. On the train ride back to my hotel, I look over this guy’s profile and realize, to my amazement, that I was just working out with the son of THE Sakuraba. The Gracie Killer. I was so hyped, got back and told my wife, who had no idea what I was talking about. Immediately called my dad lol. He was a cool guy, humble, and told me to keep an eye out because he is going to be a big name soon. Taisei Sakuraba, competed with his dad at the last Quintet and recently won his K-1 amateur debut. I am now invested in his career and looking forward to how he develops!

K-mosake

That is so dope man, gd. Sakuraba is an absolute legend.

ConcernedYellingMan

possibly dumb question, you have to pay for the days training? how much?

secretbil

Website said it was roughly the equivalent of like $20 for a drop in plus extra for a gi rental, but he didn’t charge me at all. A lot of gyms have a drop in fee and the head professor probably would have.

ConcernedYellingMan

Thanks for the response! Just wondered how it worked, that's not even bad at all I thought it would be more for some reason

allcazador

Amazing, what a story. If you weren't with the wife I would have went for beers with him and just googled translated a conversation lol. Is it a fancy/nice part of Tokyo? Odd that you only had 2 other people show up

secretbil

I didn’t realize who he was until the ride home, unfortunately. But yeah, I did have plans later on. Also it was 6:30 am class on a Monday morning, so it makes sense it was a small class. I did message him after though lol

# Dana seems to have an issue with Pereira He usually praises the hell out of short notice fighters who save a card and are knockout artist but in the post fight presser he played down Alex saving card with " well, he knows he has a short career and is making the best of it" instead of how he usually praises with" man, this guy fights anyone etc... yes, he called him a monster but...it just felt weird, maybe they asked for a lot of money in the negotiations and that bugged him.

DM_ME_YOUR_CATS_PAWS

They were never friends after he overtook Jones on the pfp

DREDAY_94

Yeah I’ve noticed this too. Especially after 303 where Dana preferred to go on a rant about how great Jon Jones is instead of praising Pereira. Usually he’d be going on some ‘how great is this guy’ type speech. I’d also think that Dana would love the idea of trying to put on a fight like Jones Vs Pereira. I can’t imagine that Jones Vs Stipe would sell more than Jones Vs Pereira

GenTelGuy

I got neither the video scraping/editing skills nor the dealing with copyright strike skills to do this, but Youtube is definitely in need of a Rei Tsuruya vs Carlos Hernandez grappling highlight reel

GenTelGuy

That feeling of disbelief when Usman got head kicked was really something else, I thought for sure he'd be there on the ground attempting a recovery, and instead it was just completely over

OtakuMecha

Watching that in a Buffalo Wild Wings and watching Holloway KO Gaethje in a movie theater are two of my favorite memories of watching MMA at a venue with a crowd.

dabox

LOL, I'll forever remember this event. A bunch of friends we're in town, I had worked all day and met up with the guys for a festival closing event with a bunch of friends. My good friend who I always watch UFC with and I just huddled around the phone and watched the fight. We freaked out when the headkick happened. good times.

paplike

I just stopped watching in the 5th round because it was boring. Oh well

JiriBrochazka

I remember watching the fight super tired and on the 5th round I tuned out, and passed out assuming Usman would just dominate him for another round. Next day I saw the spoiler had so many upvotes and had a feeling Usman finished him. And then saw what happened 😮

CableToBeam

yeah, one of the most surreal moments. Everything was going so well and then it wasn't, at an instant. And just like that, Usman and Leon are on two different trajectories in their careers.

Little skit he did and he talked about a lion, king of the jungle this huge lion with a big giant mane, in this hot smothering weather, in Africa, and the little small lions come up kinda poke at him bite on his ear, bite on his neck, the lioness come over and bugs him. Then you got the jackals and the rest of thewilderness looking and seeing these lions on that mountain top, they come over and brother him the jackals laugh at him, the hyenas laugh at him, nip on his toes they. Eeat all of his food and they sit back. And thrn you got jackals like this, who think it's a cocomedy. Huh the site still doesn't show him on the card so I had no idea - maybe I'll tune in just for his fight only

bullsfan281

i always use tapology cause it updates way faster than the ufc site. the ufc site doesn't even have moicano/bsd up yet

karl100589

Given their reputation for mass-producing top talent, who are some of the WORST Daegestani fighters to compete in the UFC?

Doppelagent

Gadzhimurad Antigulov, Gasan Umalatov, Khadis Ibragimov and Saparbek Safarov are the first few that come to mind.

MartialArtsIsLife_

All of the HWs and LHWs except Ankalaev

getting downvoted but its true. shara did not even look like top 15 material against bruno. his kicks are great but hes just not well rounded. abubakar is up there too but at least he fought in a stronger division than shara

DM_ME_YOUR_CATS_PAWS

Abubakr?

hallelalaluwah

This is a good one considering I’m not even sure he likes fighting

ILikeOMalley

He likes to play video games

KaaLux

From Khabib camp, Zubaira has to be up there, not that he couldn't have been better but laziness was apparently too strong. Outside, Khadis Ibragimov has to be one of them

blueborders

Trying to farm hate comments on a future video?

karl100589

No need given most of social media hates me already.

Neonsea1234

Abus?

JiriBrochazka

🥕

DerpyDagon

Abus is 2-2 in the UFC with his only losses to a former champ and Borralho and seems to have improved in his recent fight.

amodelsino

I feel like Shara is worse than Abus, he just hasn't gone up against anyone half decent yet.

https://www.mmamania.com/2024/7/7/24193856/dana-white-reveals-why-ufc-called-off-done-deal-with-hbo-we-gotta-get-out-of-this Dana talks about the story about how UFC almost went to HBO in 2007. But they wanted control of production so Dana veto the deal. The deal was signed and done already. Also talks about CBS wanting to buy UFC for a billion back then as well. But talking shit from Dana killed the deal.

Or Brendan Allen. The guy deserves a high profile matchup with his winning streak.

ILikeOMalley

Good winning streak numbers wise but I have no idea how he’s ranked as highly as he is from beating Paul Craig and scraping by a split decision win off of Chris Curtis on like 10 days notice Division was just dying for new blood at that point

I was in the gdt a couple days ago talking about this and I don't wanna spam but I'm just really excited. I've been an MMA fan for so long and have been a part of this community for years, and started a podcast with a friend almost 2 years ago now. Today I put out an interview I did with Bassil Hafez!! I met him at the restaurant I work at, which is near the hotel that the fighters were staying at, the day before UFC 302 right after weigh ins. He was super nice and told me he'd come on the pod after the fights win or lose, and he did! I'm happy with how it came out. I had some technical issues with this episode (of course on the UFC fighter interview episode right), so the end was kinda janky but it's a pretty solid interview/podcast. Please check it out if you have time or are interested in knowing more about Bassil Hafez after his last fight (which was a banger) https://youtu.be/w3SCIHaCk5Q?si=ShYkqYPcA5RYQOdY https://open.spotify.com/episode/3Dvsxvrkrpyziw5YslGgIK?si=GcmXPSQITU6mrEbf7cCQVg

DS_Lenker

That’s awesome.  Loved post-fight interview as well.  🍉 🇵🇸

IshiharasBitch

I'm sure you know this, but others may not-- Bassil Hafez has lost four times in MMA, all four decisions, THREE were split decisions. Just a weird fact. Some dudes might go their whole career without losing three split decisions.

ILikeOMalley

In contrast, some more fun MMA trivia. Jordan Vucenic has won 3 split decisions and they were all in a row, two of which being against Paul Hughes and Morgan Charriere

[Kevin Randleman vs Fedor Emelianenko without any commentary has a different feel to it.](https://streamable.com/kdv2fu)

hussain300

That was awesome

JiriBrochazka

Any fights Saturday

xshoryureppax

Van vs. CJ and Dober vs. Jean Silva on the UFC Denver card.

ILikeOMalley

Both of the bangers that you listed are short notice at elevation so be ready for some gassy boys

hussain300

Denver UFC event, couple interesting fights but it might get marred by the altitude and short notice of some fights.
