I do not see Chinese suppliers as a threat to MicroVision at all. MicroVision has a strong patent moat and does not relying on cheap labor to assemble their lidar. One of MicroVision’s technological advantages is a brilliantly simple design architecture that can be mass produced using readily available materials. Doesn’t matter where our lidar is made, we can compete on price and performance.
> Microelectro-mechanical system (MEMS) LiDAR uses
miniature mobile mirrors to scan the environment. MEMS firms
include the U.S. firm Atomica.
"Our 20+ years of experience spans all manner of materials, structures, and applications, including optical communications, 3D sensing and LiDAR, augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR), thermal imaging, illumination, and other types of optical sensing."

MicroVision isn't mentioned however Luminar is.
"PRC automotive firm Geely is invested in U.S. Luminar and co-developing LiDAR technologies."
Would the later be allowed to bid on any DOD contracts?

Its a shame MVIS wasnt mentioned…as usual
MVIS claims it is best of class but it pretty much gets never mentioned. Where is the disconnect, I wonder.

Emerging in China, dying in US and EU... OEMs killing lidar manufacturers here...
Tariffs
I suspect reports like this will lead to further decisions like the one made here. https://www.reddit.com/r/MVIS/s/gUg0ZJkXwp
“EMERGING TECHNOLOGY”
Another article/document that proceeds to leave MVIS out of the list of Lidar manufacturers. Disgusting.
I don't think that's what it says...
Figure 2 mentions multiple lidar companies with patents, no MVIS 😢
No leadership. Better hands is the missing puzzle piece, tshirt.
