Unbridled gang

Kahlraxin

Unbridled... unless my wife is in the car.

COLRstudio

Same :) Although it’s called untamed in my car (Denmark)

Wrong-Marsupial-2662

All day !!

Naive-Top-6480

Unbridled FTW

Big-Lychee4394

All day long!!

NeatOk4476

I am unbridled in the school drop off, fight me 😭

The_Third_Molar

My only issue with unbridled is that for some reason the aggressive regen doesn't engage the brake lights. I don't feel comfortable driving it on my commute due to the increase in traffic.

nahfamyouneedmoney

ALL DAY!!

NeatOk4476

All day, everyday!

DumpsterJ

Mmmmmmhmmmmmm

Vandellay

This is the way.

rohdwarrior

Usually Engage 1-pedal. Sometimes switch to Unbridled. Rarely use whisper.

PupperNoodle

Same

The_Social_Nerd

This is the way.

Alijg1687

Engage is my Goldilocks. Whisper was too soft and Unbridled too aggressive with one pedal. Someone posted on here a graph (from their own testing I believe) that showed power and efficiency was the same across all modes. I’ll see if I can find that. ETA: correction—not power and efficiency but regeneration across the different modes. Link to post: https://www.reddit.com/r/MachE/s/nboKPZs4wv

mbcook

Right. All three have the same max power, max speed, max regen. It’s just how far you have to push the pedal that changes.

EBtwopoint3

Unbridled will regen much more aggressively. Whisper will let you coast if you have 1 pedal off and no pedal input. Unbridled will regen brake. Max regen is the same, but whisper requires brake input to activate it while unbridled is almost a baby one pedal mode.

ArrowheadDZ

This. One thing MME owners probably don’t know… you can prove this all out yourself. Drive mode and one-pedal mode can be turned on and off *while coasting* so you can experience it first hand. Just bring up the mode option page and try it. For instance, drive whisper at 40mph with one-pedal off. Then as you start coasting, switch from one-pedal off, to one-pedal on, and you will *immediately* feel the difference one-pedal makes. Repeat this for any combination. For instance, with one-pedal off in whisper, start coasting, and during the coast, switch to unbridled and you’ll immediately feel how there is regen in unbridled. You can try any combination, and see for yourself exactly the regen/coasting difference between modes.

Zerrul

Whisper all day baby. So smooth and comfortable, with huge power when you need it

bratikzs

I was in the whisper club, until I drove on highway 17 (from Santa Cruz, CA to San Jose CA) I ended up flooring it, and it still wasn’t quite moving as I needed. It’s a curvy uphill road. I complained in this sub. Was immediately shut down for being silly and using whisper. I’ve switched to Engage and haven’t looked back. So, don’t be like me and be mindful of where you’re driving and when you need more power and umph. As an aside, switching _while_ in motion sometimes doesn’t work.

2sACouple3sAMurder

Driving on the 17 is the one time I use whisper haha

Medicalmanmeph

Shhh 🤫 yep that’s the one

AccuracyVsPrecision

I was a Whisper gang but it sucks the regen is better on unbridled for one pedal driving.

Preston4tw

Is the regen better on unbridled because it regen brakes faster / more aggressively?

Zerrul

I noticed no difference with Regen braking between modes. I like the strongest Regen too, and found no difference, other than maybe taking a touch longer to spool up the full braking amount?

Coomermiqote

I wish I could drive whisper but with stronger regen like on unbridled.

LanceB98

I wonder if the regen behavior between modes changes depending on model year (or update version?) I've heard so many people say they don't notice a difference, but from my experience there's are obvious and unmissable differences. I'm talking about when you let your foot all the way off the accelerator for maximum regen.

Zerrul

Yeah I almost never use my brakes at all, only 1 pedal Regen.. Idk I'll try it again, it was hard for me to tell a difference, but it's possible I missed something..

Ok_SysAdmin

Just like Captain Picard. Engage!

Onyxam

The modes does nothing but the change response in acceleration and deceleration. Your power and your regeneration is the same. It also makes your steering more stiff For the gtpe versions it also changes the suspension.

Nearby-Technician767

Engage when the better half is the car. Unbridled when I am solo.

SeattleSteve62

Me driving: Unbridled 1-Pedal Wife driving: Engaged 2-Pedal I have more experience with stick shifts and motorcycles, I like vehicles that accelerate and decelerate with just the throttled.

Bluejay68514

I think Engage gives energy back to the battery when you break

pizzadette

all modes give energy back in 1- pedal mode but engage is the only one the shows your energy return percentage. i wish they all did though. seeing that little 100% pop up is like a gold star lol

Bluejay68514

Oh good to know i didn't have a clue bout that 😅😂

mbcook

I like engage. Unbridled is fun but I find the regen way too high when I take my foot off the pedal (I use 2PD). If it wasn’t for that I may have stayed there.

Theneler

Yeah completely agree. I was on whisper (and use whisper in the winter when I’m driving on packed ice for 4 months straight) but like engage all around now.

The_Third_Molar

I don't like how the aggressive regen of unbridled doesn't turn on the brake lights. It makes driving in heavier traffic uncomfortable for me.

calm_in_the_chaos

Whisper One-Pedal. Such a nice, calm experience. Since I have gotten used to the One-Pedal, it has become probably my favorite feature of the car.

rylanb

I use unbridled, as well. But I'd actually be into that mode for braking and Whisper for acceleration. Wonder if that'd bump up the range.

gain91

depends on my mood

Chet_Steadman

I use 1-pedal unbridled and my wife uses whisper. I can't for the life of me understand how Ford determines who's driving the car, but the fact that my keys and phone are the only ones in the car mean nothing to them since 75% of the time it uses her settings. Always that brief moment of "WTF!?" when I take my foot off the pedal and it keeps rolling backward down the driveway.

Acceptable_While95

You can setup profiles

Chet_Steadman

We do have profiles set up and they're linked to their respective keys/phones but for whatever reason if my wife is home, it'll just about always default to hers regardless of who drove last or who's driving. My only guess is that for whatever reason her bluetooth is connecting before mine so whenever we go to open the car, even if I have my keys, her PaaK is registering as the device that unlocked it instead of mine. Seems to me that keys should take precendence over PaaK, but who knows.

SeattleSteve62

A couple times it hasn't switched to my settings after my wife drives and I almost ran the stop sign at the corner.

M0llyM1ll10NS

No matter what mode you prefer to use, it sucks that they took away the cluster animations. I really hate that it's just an icon of the car in the middle now.

doluckie

Guess on 2024s the mph is back in the middle.

SeattleSteve62

Mine has lines in the corners of the display that increase with speed and decrease during deceleration. Was there more before? I only got the car in March.

The_Third_Molar

Omg I even called Ford after that update to ask if something was wrong. What a stupid "update"

heir-of-slytherin

Usually I like Unbridled and how responsive it is, but when my wife is in the car I switch to whisper since it is smoother. The jerkiness of Unbridled makes her feel sick

LiveFromShawshank

Unbridle. Love having the power when I need it and I like the tighter steering.

International_Bit478

The steering is actually the part I like the least. It feels a little twitchy to me. On the Tesla I could control the drive and steering modes independently. I would probably do unbridled throttle with engage steering if I could.

nor3bo

The tighter/heavier steering is often overlooked. I do really prefer the feel of it

Grand-Battle8009

Unbridled. Love the responsive accelerator pedal and perfect amount of regen braking.

No_Huckleberry_4584

Unbridled. Like driving a stock car.

ronmanfl

Whisper 1-pedal because otherwise I drive like too much of a jackass.

robotsguide

I use unbridled with 1PD.

DJ40andOVER

Whisper. I’m 57 & I drive like the old man I am.

Accomplished_Tank576

I’m 65 and drive like I’ve never driven before! Engaged 1 pedal.

SeattleSteve62

Unbridled. I'm 62 and drive like I'm 26. Except I try and keep it within 10 MPH of the speed limit or keeping up with traffic, whichever is faster.

Psychonaut-Tom

Whisper is a lot nicer but the propulsion sound is weaker... but the steering is far better in whisper. Either untame (unbridled in USA) or whisper for me! (GT)

International_Bit478

I found whisper to still have tons of power but so much smoother. I usually just end up in the middle.

TechnicalGain7710

Prefer to remain a sleeper. Whisper by day…but, Unbridled only comes out when the lame ass chargers start revving their engines. Put the electric ponies on and wave bye bye 👋

SuperPrivileged

Unbridled and I drive it like a race car.

Unique-Host-345

whisper, i drive 70-90 miles a day and value my range more than anything

DarthCody94

Dumb question but do any of the modes reduce/increase drive range at all?

sac__balla

To help get the most from your charge, select 'Whisper' mode. This will soften your acceleration and help to maximise range.

NefCanuck

Whisper and one pedal. That’s enough for me 😇

Ok-Working1199

Unbridled but whisper when using Bluecruise on my commute.

triplealpha

Unbridled because I hate 1PD. The regen is just about the most I can tolerate. Plus, Pony go fast

AccuracyVsPrecision

Unbridled has the most braking

OnlyTheHoiya

Yea I think he means unbridled 2pedal is the most regen he can take

jchen14

Engage when I'm with my wife. Unbridled when I'm not. She has PTSD from an accident that was not her fault and wrecked her car a couple of years ago.

JBskierbum

My kids make me use unbridled always! I love to feel the feedback on the steering wheel!

mylefthandkilledme

Engage in town, whisper on freeway

Bluejay68514

Smartest way to go

Smokes_LetsGo_

Engage. I don’t use 1PD, I’ve found the regen & brakes to feel the best in that mode, and the most similar to my Chevy Bolt. Since I swap between driving my car and my wife’s Mach-E often, I prefer them to behave similarly. In whisper, there is too little coasting regen and the brake pedal feels incredibly touchy. I would love to use the whisper accelerator mapping more often, but I can’t get slowing down to feel smooth. I’m sure it’s much better in 1PD. In unbridled, there’s simply more regen than I’d like. I’d love to be able to use the unbridled accelerator mapping on its own as well. Ford really needs to add custom drive modes, coupled with more options for regen strength.

godlymomoney

unbridled 24/7 except bumper to bumper traffic i use whisper

Coomermiqote

Unbridled 100% of the time.

lordkri

Unbridled all day, every day.

dnguyen2195

Unbridled.

Irish0625

Unbridled 100% of the time as well

nor3bo

Unbridled, one-pedal, all the time

Bluejay68514

Engage in city or traffic because it gives back juice to the battery unbridle on highway

GrowToShow19

Unbridle with 1PD

donmeanathing

Engage. Normal pedal (not 1 pedal)

Salyangoz

whisper but i like to switch on engage mode and relive the car transformation scene from mib. freaks out new passengers when the calm blue star trek tones switch to red november. This gives me joy.

ZOEYDABZ

Unbridled for the most part Engage with others in the car Whisper for winter months

Awkward_Rise4746

Engage, just started using one pedal - jury is still out.

Hairy-Ad2473

Unbridled all day, every day!

fuzzimus

Ludicrous Speed!

DoWorkNyC

Whisper for 82k miles 😂

fuzzy812

Engage

Kaiser1138

Whisper for the wife and dogs. Engage by myself when I want to quote Captain Picard and Unbridled for special times to do some James Bond driving.

JimmyInNSB

That one! Unbridled for the win!

USMC3-1-0331

What’s the purpose of that car icon 💩 …bring back earlier version!

notmyreddit34

I’m a whisper driver by default, kids and a wife that’s prone to car sickness, but when leaving work on the days my boss drives his GT350, unbridled and he is always slightly amazed at how I can keep up with him for our short time on the highway.

maineguy89

Mostly engage, for some reason i like seeing the brake coach but when im feeling frisky i like to use unbridled on the highway.

pfa1981

engaged

Minute_Zucchini_1131

Whisper. I’ve not noticed a difference among the modes, but even if there is, I don’t have a formula 1 license. Whisper is still more responsive than my BMW.

schuhboy1

I’m usually in Engage or Whisper. I’m just not getting used to the braking when I let off the pedal, even though it’s light. And that reminds me of a question for y’all: how many of you use 1 pedal, and how long did it take you to get used to it? Cheers!

Jay18001

Regardless of of the mode the top speed is 113mph

vinh7777

I am addicted to unbridled

ILootEverything

Whisper 1 pedal, lol. I'm a boring mom and usually toting around a kid and dogs. But I do have a question related to this. I thought I remembered during my test drive, seeing that the display showed the amount of regen when braking on the left side? But I haven't seen that since I brought it home. Am I misremembering? Or is there a setting I have toggled off?

SeattleSteve62

Someone said the regen coach only displays in Engage mode.

ILootEverything

Ahhh, thank you! That explains it.

cysticwarrior1993

Switch to engaged and you’ll see it

ILootEverything

Ok, I like seeing it, so maybe this will get me out of Whisper finally.

[deleted]

Unbridled mode doesn’t matter much unless you’re really into regen energy. Even then it barely works. I didn’t buy this car to go slow

BrainESD

Unbridled and when my partner enters the vehicle, I switch to whisper.

Primary_Condition

Whisper with one pedal on a gtpe, plenty fast

funnyat50

Whisper with one pedal.

gatech311

Engage unless the kids are in the car demanding I go unbridled 🤣

Cannibal_Cakes

Engage one-pedal mostly, unbridled when I’m showing it off to friends.

TotoDeC

Engage most of the time with crazy moments turning to Unbridled. Unbridled is super nice, but decelerates to fast to my taste.

Moist-Willingness-56

I drive 1-pedal Whisper mode, but since Unbridled doesn’t effect range I will make the change 😆

[deleted]

Whisper.

Therealbg111

I test drove it on unbridle but switched to whisper while I got used to it over the last week. I drove to work on engage this morning and based on other comments here I think I’ll stick with it except for the days when I wanna choose violence 😈 (unbridle). One pedal all day every day - love taking corners without touching the breaks.

BrianAnim

Unbridle, right up till the speed limit then cruise control takes over.

Custard_Tight

Whisper. But really because I use Blue Cruise so much and it’s way smoother with stop and go traffic. I was living in Unbridled, but finally realized that it’s kind of intense with Blue Cruse. So if I’m using a lot of BC it’s Whisper but if I’m on my own, it’s Unbridled!!!!

rainystateguy

Unbridled!

CarGuy11

We need a custom drive mode! I like Engage but would like the accelerator response of Unbridle.

agileata

It's public roads

Snowvid2021

City - Unbridled Freeway(road trips) - Engage

dino_brewster

I own a real mustang so track mode with track exhaust and Rev matching

One_Surprise6650

Tried all three. Never noticed any difference.

Money-Usual-292

I drive mostly in downtown DC and I love unbridled because let’s be real the streets and drivers here are about as close to real life Mario Kart as you’re going to get 🤣

Spare_Salary_2053

Engage for everyday fun.  Unbridle when I want to show off

Away-Doughnut-9083
