Well, Cineplex (Canada) has "cheap night" on Tuesdays, and I had some points on my Scene card, so I think the tickets were only about $12 CAD each, not terrible.
Tomorrow is my last chance to do it IMAX before Bad Boys 4 takes over the IMAX room. So im planning on it if it’s not sold out. I saw some people saying their IMAX was sold out or close to selling out on a Tuesday night but some are also barely half full
No, you shouldn't. It wasn't shot with IMAX cameras so why pay extra for a feature they didn't optimize? This is why Regal gives free upgrades to IMAX all the time because even they know people won't splurge for the format when it's not optimized for the screen. This is why Oppenheimer printed $ in premium formats and regular screens were mostly empty.
If you're just after better sound then just go to a premium format like XD, RDX, or whatever your local cinema provides. Better audio and video. Just don't support IMAX because they don't use the proper equipment in most movies.
Screen X, 4DX, DBox are trash!!! Nothing but $ grabs, hints as to why I didn't mention any of those.
Honestly I don't even splurge for XD anymore because I'd rather enjoy my movies in a small, intimate theater with basic sound. If the movie is good I'll end up catching it at home when it releases and I'll get the best audio from my surround sound system.
Optimized means it's digitally enhanced to meet IMAX standards. It's not shit in the proper ratio to do full IMAX because they didn't use the cameras. It's just a $ grab.
I know that, we have IMAX by AMC (not full sized) while it wasn't shot for IMAX Or Faux-Max Screens, it still looked awesome on the biggest screen in the whole complex. I found it worth my $$
If you have access to an AMC IMAX theater nearby, their A-List subscription is actually a good deal. I really enjoy the IMAX experience but always thought it was way too expensive, too.
Now for $20/month I can go to up to 3 IMAX showings *per week* , way more than I'll ever actually make it to but I always get my money's worth and then some. And weekday afternoons I usually have the theater to myself.
Saw it again on IMAX. Totally agree, awesome experience!!!
Saw it in Imax yesterday and felt so lucky to have done so. What a film.
Dude I passed by the IMAX the last time I was at the theater and the walls were shaking lmao. Seemed absolutely epic.
+1 did this yesterday and agree it’s even better in IMAX. What a film.
What a lovely film
Seeing it tomorrow for the 2nd time ALSO on IMAX with my dad. I'm gonna make it epic.
4DX is an incredible experience
Witnessed! What a lovely day.
Nah, 4DX is the way to go, if you have one near you. The seats move and rumble with the engine sounds!
The question is do you have it in you to pay for IMAX? (I regret not going to IMAX for this one!)

Not terrible, indeed. Thanks for the tip!
I watched it on 4DX, and it was awesome. That's not the same image quality as IMAX? Also, what is IMAX
Very simply for the average movie goer, it’s a massive screen and better sound.
TBNT
Movie theaters are pretty damn expensive. I’ll wait.
Damn wish I could’ve seen in imax
Why the fake nose? It doesn’t look real even for one instant.

My state closed all its IMAX theaters. 😭
My state started adding “premium” theatres and I swear it’s louder than imax. Seats were shaking the whole movie.
I’m not sure there’s that much you can add with just a bigger screen, but the 4D motion couches I watched Furiosa on was unforgettable.
Not sure if worth it if you have another big screen available. This wasnt filmed with IMAX cameras. (The film is obviously worth it nevertheless)

Well that excuse me Mr. Dick Swinger. I'll be sure to stay the fuck out of your entitlement.
It might not have been shot with IMAX Camera's but the end credits have, "Optimized For IMAX" in them towards the end the scroll.
Optimized means it's digitally enhanced to meet IMAX standards. It's not shit in the proper ratio to do full IMAX because they didn't use the cameras. It's just a $ grab.

I can’t. Because going to a movie is not financially worth it anymore. Especially when I can wait a month and rent it for $5.99 streaming.
