I don't like putting this out there because I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating but this just might be my favorite movie ever.
It has everything I want in a big action movie.
It’s definitely one of my favorites of the past few years that’s for sure. Among many others. I need some time from it to see if it’s one of my favorites ever you know
I always have a top 3 and they change every so often.
I had Dredd, Scott Pilgrim and Deadpool 2
But have had Terminator 2 up there before.
What are some of your Top picks?
That’s a hard question lol I’m kind of a film nerd. I could list 40 favorites. Right now I’d have to say Apocalypse Now, Lawrence of Arabia, and Mad Max (1979). Love these ones and have loved them for a long time. Terminator 2 and Scott Pilgrim are excellent movies and picks. T2 especially
I was trying to judge it inside the other Mad Max movies and it was definitely my favorite. I love all of them for reasons, but this one had everything I loved about Fury Road but with some extra.
It's immensely satisfying competence porn. The Octoboss fight is so hypnotic in the way the Mortiflyers work together and Furiosa and Jack then work together to fight them. You really believe that every character in this movie has survived in the Wasteland through sheer grit and skill.
(Except the Smeg, who has survived thanks to his talent for dramatic interpretations of speeches.)
It's a great movie but how could you watch _any_ movie that many times in such a short space of time without getting even a bit bored? Also that is expensive to watch it so many times in the cinema!💰
I could watch Jurassic Park every day and not get bored. I use to put that tape through hell. But there is a difference between throwing a movie on at home and paying to go see a movie multiple times. thats like 50 hours out of your month.
around my 5th viewing of it i started to feel that i was reaching my limit. i felt that i'd watch it once or twice more before its run at the theater's over. i was supposed to watch it back to back (did this already) today, but i didn't want to spend most of the day at the theater. i've seen it 6 times and by the time that the standard version's theater run is over, i may have seen it 7 or 8 times.
i can't answer for the other person, but it helps that i love the movie, and i try to make it so that my viewings aren't so close together. i also have regal unlimited, so that helps a lot.
>Also that is expensive to watch it so many times in the cinema
How do those movie pass things work? In theory this could have cost like $20 to $40 if he needs one or two passes.
For about 50 hours of entertainment that's actually a good deal I guess. Although I wouldn't be entertainment past like the 3rd time
🫵🏼🎙Once again, we send off my War Rig to bring back guzzolene from Gas Town, and bullets from the Bullet Farm. Once again, I salute my Imperator "Ruby Storm, "and I salute my half-life War Boys, who will ride with me eternal on the highways of Valhalla! I am your redeemer! It is by my hand you will rise from the ashes of this world!
I love Furiosa too, but I can’t imagine seeing any movie that many times in a theater in such a short period of time. I’m happy you’re enjoying yourself though.
Time to be down voted into oblivion. The movie was good. It's not the second coming of Christ though. Like I don't get it. And personally I liked Fury Road quite a bit better. Less CGI and those crazy ass chase scenes looked real (because most of it was shot in camera).
Not to mention they just skipped the biggest battle. Is that for the next movie or did they just completely talk over it?
The war boys vs Dementus' gang and the movies like, and they fought and it ended. I'm like, why didn't we get to see that fight?
I may be the minority here.
Is… is this real? You’ve spent upwards of what, $300 on movie tickets for one movie? Are you sure you don’t need to reassess anything? No shade to you or the flick but this seems like manic obsessive behavior.
Actually a bit of shade tbh. Movie has only been out 15 days outside of Cannes, so OP literally watched it twice in one day *at least two times.*
That ain't healthy habits, and I'm surprised people are cheering him on.
I watched Furiosa here in Kyiv. Due to blackouts, the movie projector went off twice during the screening, and they had to rewind the film 15-30 minutes back each time. As a result, I watched that amazing truck chase scene three times (the one where they had to fix a piece of hose with a clamp).
Honestly love Fury Road and have watched it many (that's right, five) times, and then seeing Furiousa again, I think Furiousa is the better movie. Now to rewatch the first three again...
Wait, you did 13 imax screenings? With a three hour drive each way for each one?? Since the 24th of May???
😳
Edit: never mind, I just saw another comment - you've got a local imax, but the Austin one is bigger. Phew!
I’m a little sad that I had to put put my daily viewings on hold for holiday in Australia. However, I’m happy that that means I get to watch it in Australia.
Been working on an "essay-like" review the past few days detailing things I've noticed throughout the film. Big thing is the symbolism and objects used to portray them
There is honestly no "best" format, it honestly just depends on the viewer's tastes. I low-key enjoyed ScreenX the most and 4DX is really fun for those who like theme park movie rides. In terms of the traditional formating goes IMAX all the way if you have a large screen size available; Dolby is great though and better if you don't. RPX is just D-Box and I thought XD had the most clear sound mix. There are lines I personally couldn't hear in the other formats like when Smeg is telling Furiosa, "I'm nor Dementus! We swapped rides! 😭😭". You couldn't go wrong with any of the PLFs this time around, except RPX which is fine if you have Regal Unlimited since those showings are free now
The movie has only been out for 3 weeks, I can’t imagine anyone watching the same movie in theaters that many times, either once daily or multiple watches in one day.
Even in Clerks 2 the guys joked about how many times they saw LotR in theater and even that is like nothing compared to this.
Saw it for the first time last night and it was awesome! People seem to be sleeping on this movie, but definitely needs to be watched on the big screen.
Holy shit tbh the only movie I’ve seen in theaters more times than I can count was crazy rich Asians but I went to see mad max fury road like 5 times lol
Are you for real? You spent 50 hours watching a pretty good, but not great, action flick. Fury Road was much better and I’ve only felt the need to watch it twice
What’s your next favorite screen / format besides IMAX? Is there a big difference between, say, IMAX, Cinemark XD, and Dolby cinema?
I already saw it in imax but my local theater only has it in laser amc now. Is it be worth watching again in laser amc?
I have seen it twice and can probably see it 2 more times to complete my thesis on this movie.. thesis on the exploration of reverse Stockholm syndrome between Dementus and his Little-D, the disillusionment of returning home, the blind obedience by the war boys, the misdirection of the Citadel as the Green Place whom Detentus truly believed, a comparative study between Max the mad and Dementus the mad on the divergent path each took, a comparative study between Inmortan Joe and Dementus leaderships, one of godlike commanding total obedience , while the other a buffoon demanding obedience, and was Furiosa justified in punishing her sorrogate father? she shed tears when Dementus found out she’s his Little-D, and so did he when she pour a drop of water on his eye, and many many more analyses..
u/Ruby_Storm_ - did the ScreenX experience add anything that IMAX couldn't offer and what extras did the 4DX add to the mix?
I have no idea what RPX is or Cinemark XD, I need to read up and maybe go to the cinema more, I don't like "outside people" much so this was my first cinema experience in years, had to be done.
Here in the UK where I am I had the choice of IMAX (which I took and had the place to myself), ScreenX or conventional 2D - I was tempted to try ScreenX for the first time but it just felt right to IMAX it, your 13 times seems to confirm that's the one to aim for.
Awesome movie, lacking a bit in the soundtrack compared to Fury Road but even those few Doof chords we do get are enough to make the hairs stand up on my arms.
Consider yourself witnessed.
Lol I’m not trying to be a hater but out of any movie out there this is the one you saw 20 times?? It was an alright film but I wouldn’t say it’s worth seeing more than once or twice tbh
u/Ruby_Storm_
If you have really seen it so many times, in different theaters, have you noticed a difference of any of the showings?
I've only seen it three times but in two different theaters and some things seem different. I don't know if it was just my mind playing tricks on me or different theaters actually get different cuts?
So did you notice anything different or that you didn't remember now being in it?
I've only seen it 3 times so far but I'm definitely going to see it a fourth time. Probably a fifth, too.
Every time I have a day off I think to myself, "What do I want to do today?" And every time the answer is, "I want to go and see Furiosa again."
Epic!!
I saw it twice in Dolby, but wasn't able to make it to an IMAX showing before crappy Bad Boys took over those theatres. Was there a particular reason you went to IMAX so many more times than Dolby?
I don't like putting this out there because I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating but this just might be my favorite movie ever. It has everything I want in a big action movie.
It’s not my favorite movie ever, but it’s top 5 for sure.
I think it's the best movie I have seen since Fury Road, which is crazy because I like Fury Road more. I hope we get more movies in this universe
It’s definitely one of my favorites of the past few years that’s for sure. Among many others. I need some time from it to see if it’s one of my favorites ever you know
I always have a top 3 and they change every so often. I had Dredd, Scott Pilgrim and Deadpool 2 But have had Terminator 2 up there before. What are some of your Top picks?
t2, alien, fury road are top 3
Add Matrix to that list and we good 👍
edit. and JP obviously
T2 especially
put it out there. *Furiosa* was fucking amazing.
I'll lunge at anyone with a broomstick in each hand if they say otherwise 😁 Edit: I mean BOOMstick!
Ash is that you??
She was magnificent
I was trying to judge it inside the other Mad Max movies and it was definitely my favorite. I love all of them for reasons, but this one had everything I loved about Fury Road but with some extra.
I'm feeling the same way. I never thought Raiders of the Lost Ark would he topped for me, but here we are
Frog tits?
Yep, this movie is the type I want to memorize the lines. And I never had this feeling before!!
The episodic nature of it will mean it will work well on streaming. You don't have to watch the whole thing
It's immensely satisfying competence porn. The Octoboss fight is so hypnotic in the way the Mortiflyers work together and Furiosa and Jack then work together to fight them. You really believe that every character in this movie has survived in the Wasteland through sheer grit and skill. I feel this way about fury road. Furiousa didn't hit the bar for me but I love both movies a lot.

What a day

Fuel for months! This is truly a great day!
It's a great movie but how could you watch _any_ movie that many times in such a short space of time without getting even a bit bored? Also that is expensive to watch it so many times in the cinema!💰
As someone who’s dabbled in the autistic arts, the answer is autism
My friend says the same, if true I'm undiagnosed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I could watch Jurassic Park every day and not get bored. I use to put that tape through hell. But there is a difference between throwing a movie on at home and paying to go see a movie multiple times. thats like 50 hours out of your month.
Back then the theaters were priced more reasonably. I saw Jurassic park countless times at the $1 movie theater. That movie never gets old.
around my 5th viewing of it i started to feel that i was reaching my limit. i felt that i'd watch it once or twice more before its run at the theater's over. i was supposed to watch it back to back (did this already) today, but i didn't want to spend most of the day at the theater. i've seen it 6 times and by the time that the standard version's theater run is over, i may have seen it 7 or 8 times. i can't answer for the other person, but it helps that i love the movie, and i try to make it so that my viewings aren't so close together. i also have regal unlimited, so that helps a lot.

No disrespect to OP but I suspect it might be an autism thing.

it's good but not as good as Fury Road. Still, an enjoyable flick.
Time to be down voted into oblivion. The movie was good. It's not the second coming of Christ though. Like I don't get it. And personally I liked Fury Road quite a bit better. Witnessed. I’ve watched it twice…I understand.
I watched fury road more times in theater when it first dropped. Furiosa makes me wanna re-watch Fury road again
You will watch eternal, shiny and chrome! https://i.redd.it/kp4fh84xy25d1.gif

Regal Pass? :)
Yup and AMC A list as well. Sprinkled with a couple Cinemark XD viewings and a local IMAX theatre in Austin that takes me 3 hours to get to :)

Try it in black & white ! They are both excellent in B&W in my opinion, Windows will play it that way thru settings. Stars be with you.
The black and chrome cut is already confirmed, I will wait for the official release. Stars be with you as well
I saw it once and preordered the 4K steelbook. I’ll watch it several times at home, but very few movies have made me watch them twice at the theater.
Thunderbike in Dolby gives the kind of ride you’d pay at least 50 bucks for under the bridge downtown
Did you see it in Cinemark D-Box seats?
Already watched it twice. Gonna see again tomorrow.

How was your ScreenX experience?
